Festival Time at Taniquetil

[Elbereth]

Now is the time for the Annual Festival at Taniquetil.
Hosted by Manwe and myself, I invite all beings of Middle Earth to join in the celebration.

Here we will have joyous song and music, fine foods especially made by the abundant fruits of Yavanna, and all will be happy. Here you may all join together, to tell tales of old and new and to share with the Valar all your wonderous accomplishments.

I INVITE YOU ALL TO COME VALINOR ONCE AGAIN ...EVERYONE IS WELCOME TO JOIN IN THE FESTIVITIES.

Yes, of course the Edain are welcome to come.:)

For the first time since the First Age all of Illuvatar's creatures are welcome to join in the festivities of Valinar.

So please have a glass of wine and enjoy!!!:D

Goodie! And since I'm the first person here, I shall choose the music!

*puts a collection of CD's into the stereo which he also brought, then sits down at the table and orders some grilled rainbow trout*

Elessar sneaks in, undetected by everyone, and comes up behind the stereo, he takes the speaker wires and connects them to his own cd system, the speakers turn from whatever Cir was listening to, and start to play "Say Hello to Heaven" by Temple of the Dog.

*hears Elessars music playing; mutters some words; the wires blow up and Cirs music starts playing again* :rolleyes:

*tar does an Irish Jig to the bagpipes*

Elessar frowns, and then his ears explode when he hears the bagpipes. He procedes to fill them with molten metal so that he cannot hear the bagpipes. He then plugs his guitar into the metal in his ears, and plays "Fade to Black" which eases his mind.

Hey, It is a festival, and i want a genine irish feel!

*tar fixes the bagpipes and begins to do the jig again*

[Dengen-Goroth]

Dengen enters and sighes.
"Piece from the incredible madness of Middle Earth. I may stay a while."
And gets a sandwich.

[Elbereth]

WELCOME FRIENDS OF MIDDLE EARTH!!!

"I am so glad you all could come." (lifts a goblet of ent draught wine)

"I would like to make a toast to you all. May your hearts be glad, your fruits bountiful, and your bellies always full.":D

"Here, Here!!!"...says a plump Hobbit, who is filling his plate at the buffet tables. <All laugh.>

"To Middle Earth"

<Everyone lifts up their glasses and goblets and pints to take up the cheer in merry fashion.>

"Now who has a song or tale they could share with us all!"

[Dengen-Goroth]

Dengen for one does not raise his glass at the mention of Middle Earth, He instead looks bitter and forlorn, gazing into the past for a small second.
"Middle Earth, now but a failed land with nothing but secrets found anew which were in all means lost. A lost land, where a great force made over time may crumble and fail in minutes. I am grown disgusted, moros! I have a tale to tell, yes indeed." All gathered about as Dengen began.
"Once not long at all ago there was a cruel Lord, Aranberia, who took power in malacious upheavel, and the true hier was in a dank cell..."

[Elbereth]

<Elbereth frowns upon Dengen-Goroth for bringing down the merry mood...but allows him to continue his tale anyway...>

[Eomer Dinmention]

"Comon Dengen cheer up this is a party after all. *Eomer waves his staff and a party hat appears on Dengen's head.
"Hmm a nice bright party hat on a Dark Dark Lord, doesn't match"
*Eomer waves his staff and the party hat turns dark dark black
"Thats better lol"

[Talierin]

*"Ooo, not just a black hat, Dengen has a dark dark black hat! I thought black couldn't get any darker....heehee!" Tal says from the door. "Let's get this party moving!"*

[Ciryaher]

*goes to Carousel shouting "Renew!"*

Yeah, lets dance or something... *warms up to do the New Russian Swing*

[Tar-Ancalime]

Tar Merrily enters,"Hi honey," giving Dengen a peck on the cheeck!,"That was RP 5 wasn't it!"

[Elbereth]

At the front table Elbereth sits down next to Manwe her husband and delightfully digs into her twin lobster dinner.

Yay, food! *disapears behind a huge pile of food, the pile seems to be getting gradulally smaller and smaller.

[Ciryaher]

*orders fried mushrooms and a big mug of root beer*

Aye! Food is good. I think I'll move out of the Dragon and stay here. Nicer atmosphere....

It feels good to be back, I will have a plate of your best chinese delecisies please:D

*Tar sees the last morsel of food being eaten*

[Dengen-Goroth]

Dengen completes his story after a very good deal of time and stands. He walks over to the area for food and begins to indulge in the greatest foods of Arda.

[Elbereth]

Flying in from his last gig at the Silver Dragon...Hempdread the Ent enters the Grand Ballroom with two Hobbit teens carrying his DJ equipment...

"Salsa dancing in the main ballroommmm, mon!!", Hempdread announces to the crowd that is growing in the banquet hall.

A group of Sindarin elves follow the Rastafarian Ent into the ballroom to the upbeat rhythms of the Salsa beat...

"Yo quiero bailar! Gracias, my friend!!!!" Elbereth exclaimed, grabbing Manwe and headed toward the ballroom.

* Following behind in a conga line were three other Valars, two Teleris, and a Maiar who were all singing merrily and swinging to the beat*

[Eomer Dinmention]

*Eomer spots i nice young lady around his age all alone. Eomer walks up to her
"Would you like to dance"
"Why yes my lord"

The couple starts dancing.

"I didn't get your name sorry" I asked
"My names Talitha. my Lord"
"Please call me Eomer."

*They continue to dance

[Valar]

*Valar and Nimawae walk in, he pulls out her chair and pours her a glass of warm cider. Spotting Eomer and his young lady gives him a sly wink and Eomer trys not to laugh*Lol

[Nimawae's hope]

OOC: SHAME ON YOU!!!!:D

*Nimawae looks about the place with amusement, then turns to Valar.*
"Have you ever noticed how often these places offer HUGE quantaties of food. Someone ought to tell Elessar to slow down. He is going to gain a mighty stomach ache!"

*She relaxes in the chair that Valar offered her then motioned for him to sit down too.*

"Please STOP WINKING!! Its making me nervous!"

*Valar grins mischieviously, but Nimawae chooses to ignore it. This time!*

[Valar]

*Stops winking..........But starts licking his lips!!!!!!!*

*Motions to the waiter.* "Can i have cream of some young guy!!!" (waynes world)

*Nimawae raises an eyebrow in amusement at Valar's ..um..antics. She's never seen this side of him before. It is really quite fascinating!*

"Is there some special reason that you are so silly today? Perhaps you drank too much at The Silver Dragon! How about if YOU have some warm cider now! I think you would feel better!"

HAHA! Just kidding!!:D

[Valar]

Gets up, looks in the mirror then see's himself. Sits quickly back down, looking stern!

[Nimawae's hope]

"OH no!! You don't need to be stern for me! I enjoy people with a sense of humor! It keeps from focusing on the world's problems too much!"
*She smiled at him.*
"I was only teasing you know!"

[Valar]

*trys to look stern but Nimawae makes him start to laugh*
*turns to her and says"So.....er....do you come here often?" lol

[Nimawae's hope]

*Sighs and shakes her head, but can't help laughing at him.*
"Oh, please, do NOT use that line on me! It makes my head hurt! Besides I think we already consider ourselves friends. Don't we!?"

OOC: Can't answer any more today! I gotta go home. See ya tomorrow!

[Valar]

"Yes i think we do, very good friends if you ask me"
*With all the compasion he can muster when he's laughing so much, he looks deep into her eyes and wispers in her ear*
"Did it hurt when you fell from heaven my angel!!"

[Nimawae's hope]

OOC: Ok, just one more!

*Nimawae rolled her eyes so far back that they started to hurt.*
"VALAR!! Quit, that is soo OLD!! I like you a lot, but I can't STAND pickup lines!!"
*Elbows him firmly in the side.*
"Here, Have some cider!"

[Valar]

"OK i'm sorry."
*He takes her hand and softly kisses it, they sit there watching everyone else talk and laugh*
*He wispers in her ear*
"Do you reakon Manwe knows any good dr dr jokes?"

[Ciryaher]

hey, Hey, HEY! *Ciryaher pounds the table and points at Nimawae and Valar* Stop talking so loud!

*the previous was a hint to take quasi-mushy discussions to PMs*

Ahh! My Morels have arrived!

*turns to Hempdread*

How about some heavy stuff. Heavy beat, fast paced...Rob Zombie, perhaps? Mix it!

*Eomer and Talitha stops dancing. As they walk outside Eomer wispers to Valar " Pickup lines never work these days. Be nice and friendly and then you will get one" *Eomer winks lol good luck lol

OOC: Hey! I didn't do anything MUSHY!! And if you're going to get on me, why not tell a few other people to calm down! GEEZ!!

*Frowns at Ciryaher's comment.*
"Are you questioning my morals? Perhaps I should go back into the wilderness where I came from!"
*Now decidedly in a bad mood, she sits back in her chair, and ignores everything around her.*

[Ciryaher]

*ooc: I do tell other people to calm down; they just don't listen*

I said M-O-R-E-L-S, not morals. A morel is a kind of mushroom, silly.

*Ciryaher grins and listens to the Rob Zombie dance music*

[Nimawae's hope]

OOC: Sorry! I just figured you misspelled the word You know, people do that all the time on here!:rolleyes: Oh, and does that mean that I don't need to behave myself just because you say too!?!:D

*Nimawae sticks out her tongue at Ciryaher, then goes back to drinking her cider. She looks at the glass with an annoyed look, because she is getting sick of drinking cider.*
"I think I'm ready for something different to drink."

[Ciryaher]

*pushes a 2 litre krug of Beer towards Nimawae*

Have a REAL drink.

*grins and drinks from his own krug*

[Nimawae's hope]

*Nimawae looks at the beer with raised eyebrows.*
"Hmmm. I guess its worth trying."
*Takes a sip, and spits it back out. She then slides the beer over to Valar.*
"Here, you drink it Valar, maybe you'll like it! I don't want to hurt your feelings Ciryaher. But, man, you drink really BAD beer!! Got anything else!"

Dengen looks around.
"How about some good old Pink Floyd?"

[Elbereth]

"Aya mon! Let's not fight about the music...Hempdread takes request...all your music will be played in time....Patience mon!!!" Hempdread said as he intermixes Pink Floyd and the Beatles in a most unusual way...

"Wow! I don't know how that funky ent does that....but he's good...KEEP THE FUNKY MUSIC ALIVE MY MAN!" Elbereth says as she exists the the ballroom...

"Time for a drink"...and picks up a champagne glass from a passing tray.


"Hmmm....I think it may be time for presents." Elbereth motions over to a Teleri in the corner and whispers in his ear. The Teleri then smiles slyly and exists the room swiftly.

[Lorien]

*Lorien comes running in......hey Elessar stop eating all that food....gimme some!!!....goes ahead and starts stuffing his face....Suddenly realizes that this would be a great time to put together a live band starts asking people to join him in playing. Takes out his Gibson Les Paul and begins playing, "Stairway to Heaven"
C'mon people back me up here...

[Valar]

*Downs the beer then kiss Nimawae on the forhead, stands up and goes to find his trolley of guitars, and picks out an custom yamaha rgx.*
"Lets get a bit heavier"
*Starts playing hunger strike, temple of the dog*

[Lorien]

Picks up a Gibson Explorer and starts playing The Four Horsemen....
p.s.you absolutely can't get heavier than that.....

[Valar]

Lorien this is not a compatition. I wouldn't try to out play me.
*Decides to mellow things out a bit, and takes his Taylor goldfish, (With a beautiful rare-earth fisherman pickup!) And starts to play tears in heaven.

[Lorien]

Lorien hearing Valar plaing Tears in Heaven finally agrees with him on one thing and he picks up his Gibson J200 (the tweleve-stringer semiacoustic with cherry-black finish) and joins valar in playing tears in heaven. They both start singing.

*At the end of the song he smiles*
"You play well how long have you been playing, are u classicly trained?"

[Eomer Dinmention]

*Eomer comes back in and orders something to eat.

"Oh waiter I'd like to order now please.
Ok then.

For the Entree. I'll have a serve of spring rolls and a bowl of chips.

For the main: I'll have Chilli Prawns. Steak and Black Bean sauce.
Lemon Chicken and Peking Duck.

For Desert. I'll have a Banana Sundae and Fried Ice cream.

And i could have a bottle of 1220 port thankyou

Elessar finnaly finishes his platter of food. He gets up, brushes himself off, and walks over to Arathin, he whispers in her ear, and then leaves without another word.

[Lorien]

"I've been playing for a while yes."
Strikes up metallica's Nothing else matters.

[Adeilya]

Adeilya walks over...sees the bunch of guitarists...pulls up her drum-set. *plays*

[Lorien]

*Lorien, Adeilya and Valar soon drift off into seemingly pointless jams.*

[Dengen-Goroth]

Dengen gets up and picks up a Fender Cyclone and begins to play "Beneath the Howling Stars" and then breaks into "Arnold Layne".
"Let's rock Arda!"

[Lorien]

*Lorien lets out a hoot of delight and joins Dengen in playing "arnold layne"*

[Valar]

*breaks into some lead, with some sweet finger tapping (like Van hallen)*

[Adeilya]

*drum solo*

[Ciryaher]

*whips out his Big Stick and threatens to beat the slapdash band senseless if they don't get their acts together*

Play quieter and play the same bloody thing! It's a veritable cacophony in here right now...

[Adeilya]

*is scared* *assumed she was playing Arnold Layne with the rest of them...plays softer...if that's possible.* :D

[Nimawae's hope]

*Smiles at Valar's performance.*
"That was great! Do you think you could play the Moody Blues "On the Threshold of a Dream" now? I love their music!"
*She then sits back and drinks......orange juice.MMMMMMMMM!*
"I finally know what I'm drinking."

[Eomer Dinmention]

*Eomer walks outside to get away from the noice. He sits down on a chair and marvels at the stars. "such a beautiful sight tonight. how i wished i could fly to the moon and marvel at the stars above."

[Adeilya]

[Lorien]

*Lorien starts playing 'American woman'..the Zeppelin version.*

[Nimawae's hope]

*Nimawae gets tired of the noise blasting in her ear. She goes into the nearby thicket for some peace and quiet.*

[Dengen-Goroth]

Dengen looks around and motions for order. Then begins a very enthuisiastic redition of Zepplin's "Rock n' Roll"

[Lorien]

allrighty!! Lorien joins Dengen on the lead.....

[menchu]

Menchu feels an uncontrollable power to the mike, like a magnet.
*If only I could rhyme a little...* says to herself

[cause there are microphones too, if these guys play electric guitar!]

[Lorien]

After finishing Rock n' roll Lorien slides into a version of Zeppelin's Whole Lotta Love.

[Valar]

*Seeing Nimawae again, goes and sits next to her and smiles.*
"I shall try and play it soon. How are you my friend"
*Still looking at her smiling*

[Elbereth]

After Lorien finishes her amazing rendition of Zeppelin's Whole Lotta Love, the Teleri returns to the banquet hall with a large bundle of presents...which he lugs over to Elbereth at the head table.

"Finally the presents have arrived!!!! Gather around everyone....I have presents for you all!!!"

[Nimawae's hope]

*Nimawae looks up a little surprised to see Valar.*

"Oh. There you are. Where have you been lately?" *Nimawae then turns red because Valar is always smiling at her.*

[Adeilya]

Presents? *Runs over to Elbereth* *Feels like a little kid*

[Lorien]

Lorien a bit peeved that HE got referred to as SHE plays some sour funeral march notes and then runs over to get his present anyway.

[Ciryaher]

*unstops his ears after the babel of electric instruments*

Ahh, that's over. Presents, did you say?

*walks over and joins the crowd around Elbereth*

[Valar]

"I am sorry for embarresing you. :D :D "
"I have been very busy alot fighting evil to be done nowadays, shall we go get a presemt?"
*Takes her hand and walks over to the presensts*

[menchu]

Menchu awaits Elbereth to make a bit of a speech before the excited guests start opening the presents.

[Nimawae's hope]

*Smiles warmly at Valar, then looks at the ground as they walk towards the crowd of people around Elbereth.*
"I'm sorry for being so easily embarrased Valar. I'm used to being on my own, and I'm not very good at dealing with people. I suppose that it is something that I need to work on."

[Elbereth]

GREETINGS ONE AND ALL!!!

I do apologize for keeping you waiting for so long. I wanted to make sure everyone was gathered before all the presents are given out. But first I want to thank you all for coming to the wonderful Festival of Taniquetil. It has been such a joy to meet all of you in such peace and merriment. And to show my appreciation I have presents for you all. I see many of you are eager to find out what your wonderous gifts will be. As you all should...for these are the gifts that you most desire.

Therefore, before the gifts are distributed, I want you all to close your eyes...Look into your heart and soul...and think about what you have wanted most of all...and make a wish. But be careful of what you wish for, because that wish will be your one present.

So when I say "now", I want you all to close your eyes and start wishing....

*Valar thinks*

*Then a thought goes through his mind*
"I need some new green socks"
"Damn i just used my wish, bang goes my hope for world peice."
*He opens his eyes and a nice new pair of green socks are infront of him*

*Nimawae laughs hysterically at Valar's wish. She then grows serious.*
"I wish for the sword that my father bore before his death."

[Lorien]

"I wish i could see dad, no wait i can already do that."
"Alright lets run through the list, cookies, chocolates, guitars....hmm this is going to be tougher than i thought."
"ohhh, i know i know, no wait i don't dammit!"
"I wish for ultimate annhi....wait better stop that line of thought."
"Ah, i wish for a nice dog that'll keep me company forever."

[menchu]

Menchu's stomach is rumbling as usual.
-No, I won't pay attention to you, evil innards! You've just had an amazing feast!- speaks Menchu to her tummy. :D
-Mmm... What I wish can't be wrapped in a gift...

[Elbereth]

"Remember your gift can be anything you wish for...even if it means that it can not be wrapped. Just be careful what you wish for."

"Oh well, take your time...I think the dessert table is open...I'm getting some strawberry shortcake!!!!...yum!!!!" :p

Saying this Elbereth flys toward the front of the line at the dessert table. :D

-Well, a piece of chocolate cake will help me think about it... mmm... and maybe a couple of waffles (I miss Courtney's!) :D

[Elbereth]

With mouth full of Strawberry Shortcake...Elbereth jumps up from her seat and tries her best to talk.

"I brusst got a billiant ibea!!!"....and she starts hopping up and down in her seat at her own enjoyment.:D

Labourously chewing, Elbereth finally finishes her thought "We should have talent contest! Poetry, music, dancing, drama....there are so many talented people here, we should celebrate it! WHO WANTS TO BE THE JUDGES!?!?!?":D :D

[Nimawae's hope]

*Nimawae eyes get wide.*
"Um...I'll have to have a nap first. Then I'll let you know how it sounds."

[menchu]

-Yeah, a good 'siesta' after the cake and the waffles... I can choose my present later. Wait for me, Nim! :D

[Elbereth]

Ok...anyone taking a siesta has to move into the bean bag room....you are putting everyone to sleep...:o

[Nimawae's hope]

Am I the one doing that? Man, things haven't been moving around here much lately. What did you give everybody? Frogs and worts?!:D :rolleyes:

Menchu comes back after her siesta.
-Ok, Elbereth... *yawns* ...I have made up my mind. I'll make my wish in silence and open the present, if you will.
Then the hobbit bowed.

Handing menchu a large present, smiles and bows her head down in return.

Well, it seems that everyone is leaving...so please come get your gift before I bring this grand celebration to a close.
