This is part of an ongoing dispute between myslef and my good friend.
In the movie, who is better (looking, skills, fighting styles, etc.) Aragorn or Legolas?

I really love Legolas (not obsessively or anything). But Aragon was really was cool. He kicked butt! Just my 2 cents:)

Legolas

Even though he has a small role on the movie. (and in the book too). Orlando Bloom did a very nice job. He captured the wiseness and all the characteristics Tolkien elves should have.

And of course he wins in the looks!! OMG hes georgeous!! And in fighting abilities too. Good Archers are very hard to find.

Besides, IMO, Vigo Mortessen was the weakest link of the full cast when it comes to acting.

even though i thought orlando bloom did a great job (and hes hot)i think that viggo mortensen did a better job. he demonstrated great skill in his fighting and acting. both actors are excellent, but something about the way mortensen played his character caught my attention more than bloom did.

Same here, I mean yah Orlando Bloom caught my eye, but Viggo Mortensen did a much better job. And in the movie he had more depth

I found Viggo Mortenson's portrayal of Aragorn wonderful, his acting masterful. He was very convincing. I can't think of anyone else as Aragorn. I loved Legolas, but I thought Aragorn was a little better.

I felt that Legolas well looked like a Legolas.
Aragorn nice performance but I think he looked too young and I do not judge men but he was too handsome for Aragorn, what happened to look foul but feel fair?
Boromir was good but not built enough, I always imagined him to be the size of Arnold Schzenegger in Conan the Barbarian.
Now thats a Boromir!!
Elrond was terrible, I kept thinking when he said "U HAVE ONLY ONE CHOICE" that he was going to say Mr Anderson (Matrix).
Gandalf was excellent Flawless almost but his clothes so unrealistic in a Middle Earth sense. What I mean is he seemed to always wear just the robes he was wearing with no cloak to keep him warm.
Just my opinion I know ive gone slightly off point but thats just the way it is!
:D

I voted Legalos because he was almost exactly as I pictured him.

But he's a wood elf, isn't he? I always thought he should have brown or light brown hair and brown or green eyes...
However, I think Mr. Bloom did a great job!

Legolas is a lot better. No offence, Aragorn is lovely but i dont think he could hit a Balrog at 10 paces! Legolas is really cute too, but Frodo rises above all! Hail King Frodo!
( i know Aragorn is king really. King Frodo souns better...)

Seriously, I thought that both guys were great! (I also loved to watch Frodo, Merry, Pippin and especially Boromir!) The LOTR's film version is chock full of eye candy for females!!! ;)

in looks, with me legolas wins. but as far as acting, while both did a great job, viggo mortensen managed to act as aragorn better than orli acted as legolas. with aragorn, you could really tell that he was a great man whose nobleness was underrated. i didnt see to much depth to orli's character, although i'll be the first to admit that aragorn was more deeply developed in the story,

Legolas, of course...my name says it all!

So, since female elves could fall for Men, then male elves could possibly for a Woman, hmmmm?

sigh

ARAGORN! i do not get why the entire female population (to my knowledge anyway) is going crazy over Legolas and Orlando Bloom. Sure...legolas is good looking...but come on...he's not the only good looking guy in the world. Besides i've always thought he had brown hair...not blond...hmmmm.

I think Viggo Mortensen really portrayed Aragorn the way i imagined him to be...noble. The scene by the river when Aragorn resisted the temptation of the Ring...it showed more of Aragorn's character than any other scenes.

So...while Legolas might look more cool, Viggo Mortensen really captured Aragorn's character to perfection...

just putting in my 2c

I loved them both it is SOOOOOOO hard to pick! Legolas was EXACTLY how I pictured him, and I thought he was portrayed SO well. HE seemed wise, yet REAL somehow, he seemed like he really cared about the others, and everything that was happening. He was also VERY good looking, but that's almost beside the point. Aragorn was also close to how I had pictured him,and his performance was so good I understood his positon much better than in the book. But Legolas just seemed more................real to me. I can't really explain it very well.

I have to agree with L.O.T.R gal. The choice is very difficult. But I would have to say that Aragorn was better in my opinion

zeuqirne - love ur quote. i just loved how he said that. now i'm gonna be thinking bout that the whole night............
and , as u might have guessed, i think legolas was better. he could have had a bigger role though. i mean he had, like, four lines..........he said something at the council, "something draws near......i can feel it.", "hurry, frodo and sam have reached the western shore...(pause)...then u mean not to follow him?", and he said something when those "Spy-birds" were comming. that's it i think. he really should have had a bigger part. and he was exactly as i pictured him! i pictures aragorn more...........well.........ugly. and he really does act great, but my vote still goes for legolas.

You people are sick! You didn't put down a "I can't choose, they're both great" button!!! What's wrong with you? Grrrrrr. Anyone who knows me KNOWS I admire Legolas for many reasons, but I also have a great respect for Aragorn! GRRR!
