The Greenway

The road from Gondor to the Shire is mentioned near the end of TROTK as being called the Greenway. Is this the road through the Gap of Rohan called The Old South Road or the one which passes Morannon and then through the Brown Lands to the Old Forest Road??

Gap road i thought. And doesn't it pass down to minas tirith and osgiliath???????

The Greenway starts from Bree and winds up South-Eastwards, passing between the South Downs and The Barrow Downs before entering Cardolan. In Cardolan it travels through deserted country to Tharbad, where it crosses the Gwathlo before entering Enedwath. It travels alongside the borders of Dunland (Presumbly?) before entering Rohan through the Gap of Rohan. There it travels through Westfold, Eastfold, Anarion to reach Minas Tirith.

There is no connection between the Morannon and the Old Forest Road and certainly no road ventures into Brown Lands.
