View Full Version : Breakups and Matchups

With all the people trying to gain RPG spouses, I think we should bring up the idea of RPG breakups.

I mean if everyone scrambles into quick marriages, they might want out, and if they can just say "I break with thee, I break with thee, I break with thee" things will get very confusing.

This is my suggestion:

1. Breakups should be avoided at all cost.
2. The first person who posts that they want to end their relationship must have his/her RPG character killed in the next RPG so that we don't have divorcees, justs widows and widowers.
3. That person must come back as his/her own son or daughter.

Any thoughts?

I would like to TRY and find someone to be Queen of The Lonely Mountain. So if anyone would like to be the queen of The Lonely Mountain and marry me pm me. About breaking up I think you should only die in the RPG your in at the time instead of changing your name.

good idea but i think that under some situations such as your rpg spouse suddenly turns evil and is trying to subvert you that a break up should be allowed

HLGStrider
02-26-2002, 11:16 PM
Yes... that is an all too common problem. In that case maybe you should be allowed to kill that person :D

lol!!! i think most people posting on this thread are single....but maybe its just me who thinks that.

HLGStrider
03-11-2002, 12:46 AM
That depends on whether you mean single in the RPG or single in the books. For instance, a lot of characters list themselves as married to a book character in their profile (Commonly Legolas  ) but I don't think they have an actually RPG Legolas in mind.

i gotta stay single... being a warrior princess does not mean i sit on my butt all day and watch tv... i am on a roll... i love do the 'dot , dot, dot'... i am starting to scare myself...

Goldberry344
03-30-2002, 03:32 AM
thats not totally true. you just have to find a guy who likes you for you, and for being a warrior person! a guy who will fight with you, not for you. hehe, good luck, and tell me if he has friends like him!

whatz wrong with being married? I enjoy my married life!

Eomer Dinmention
04-04-2002, 03:29 PM
Yes being married is a great thing.

I know that one day i will find the love of my life, who will be the girl of my dreams:
Smart,
Caring
Beautiful
Kind
Not Up herself
and all of that other things you like in a person.

And then when you get married you know that they will never leave you.
And maybe have children with her or him.

And so on you lived happily ever after

Tar-Ancalime
04-04-2002, 03:30 PM
I dunno what dengen wanted but...he got an awful lot.

HLGStrider
04-04-2002, 11:08 PM
Well, when I find my perfect man, RPG or otherwise, I will be sure to hold on to him... As my grandma told my grandpa, "I can see myself as a widow but not a divorcee..." in other words... "Try to leave me, get shot..."

No matter what, when your in love never let that special person go.
Keep on fighting and fighting to get that person, never give up because as they say "Love Conquers all"

Goldberry344

:sigh: all this talk of love, how sweet, my eyes are beginning to water

korhall
04-05-2002, 05:02 AM
i must admit that they were right about being married to your true love. it makes even the worst times better because as they say "misery loves company" and there is no better company than curling up with your love, under a blaket and letting the world just pass on by. that is the best way to cure the blues. and beleive me it helps, being with a person who will love you always makes everything better.

HLGStrider
04-05-2002, 10:39 PM
Yep... and the boy I like in real life is slipping away... weep weep moan... whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa aaaaaaaaaaaaa boo hoo and all that... In RPG's I'm doing fine... but I think I made Mormegil a little nervous with the thing about shooting...

Goldberry344

Smile, elgee, your cats love you.... :) :) :)

Tarien
04-06-2002, 04:46 AM
I dunno. If you married someone kind of adventurous, you could stay on the move. Which, come to think of it, would be cool. But I'm having guy problems. Been around since, well, ever, and haven't found the right guy.

Tar-Ancalime
04-06-2002, 04:50 AM
you don't have to worry about that Tarien! One day you'll find him...Like I found Dengen, I would never leave him, ever!

Goldberry344
04-06-2002, 04:51 AM

korhall

Tar-Ancalime
04-06-2002, 04:59 AM
me and dengen used to hate eachother (while I was under another name). Than one day he called me fair maiden (and went on to add titles like elixer of life and so on and so forth.)

arisen pheonix

I'm not worried... I just thought it might as well be addressed.

Goldberry344
04-06-2002, 10:24 PM

HLGStrider
04-08-2002, 10:49 PM

In these RPG's I always thought that I(Aredhel) would remain single, living a nice, happy life at Rivendell. But...it is getting kind of lonely*sniff*

Mormegil
04-09-2002, 08:03 PM
I think we might have found a match for Dain.:)

Aredhel
04-09-2002, 08:09 PM
Who?

Tar-Ancalime
04-10-2002, 02:08 AM
who? how tolerant

HLGStrider
04-10-2002, 04:35 AM
Actually, I think Dain is sweet, and if he liked my cats and Mormegil wasn't so much sweeter, I would've chosen him for my match. Mormegil seems right for me, however. Still, I think Dain's girl will be a lucky one... just not as lucky as me.... :D ;)

Mormegil
04-10-2002, 01:27 PM
YAY I'm sweet!!
:D :D :D :D :D

Aredhel
04-10-2002, 04:02 PM
I don't really know Dain that much, although we were in an RPG together.

Tar-Ancalime
04-10-2002, 10:08 PM
he tried to take a bath with me...A married woman!(Dain)

EverEve
04-10-2002, 10:12 PM
Well, what else would you expect from him?:D

Tar-Ancalime
04-10-2002, 10:14 PM
That was very insulting...than everyone who was in my guild left because of him

Valar
04-10-2002, 10:52 PM
"Ain't love great!"

Goldberry344
04-11-2002, 12:16 AM
well, depends on the love. theres the song tainted love....i have it stuck in my head. my friend was singing it like all day today.

HLGStrider
04-11-2002, 02:23 AM
Yes, very sad... Dain, you really should control yourself...

Aredhel
04-11-2002, 04:17 PM
I remember that Tar. It was in the Rivendell RPG. We still shouldn't talk about him like that when he's not here. Which place does he govern anyway?

HLGStrider
04-11-2002, 10:24 PM
I thought it was the Iron Hills.. or was that Nain?

Aredhel
04-12-2002, 04:06 PM
I think Nain governs that. Dain might be governing the Lonely Mountain.

HLGStrider
04-12-2002, 08:03 PM
Doesn't Nain have a lonely tower or something like that? That's why I thought he had the mountain... urg...

Mormegil
04-12-2002, 08:45 PM
Dain is the King of the Khazad Kingdoms, which includes The White Mountains, The Grey Mountains, Gabil-Dum, The Iron Hills, and The Lonely Mountain.

Aredhel
04-12-2002, 09:41 PM
Yeah...I think I remember seeing something about that before on the forum.

EverEve
04-12-2002, 09:43 PM
I am the Govenor of Iron Hills!!!!!! Nain: The Lonely Mountain...

that was in case any body cares......which I doubt they do

04-14-2002, 09:49 PM
this is just a random comment from someone not involved in this discussion, but maybe being a hired assasin (as Dain is) doesn't make you very appealing.:D I don't know why, but the thought of being married to someone who murders people for a living might be disturbing to some people. ;) :D

Tarien
04-15-2002, 05:24 AM
I haven't found anyone. RPGs are no fun alone. (Actually they are). But no one even asks me. Oh dear. Now I'm sounding like that stupid ring diary (no offense).

Someone please note my attempt at humor. It's late, and my tired brain can't think very well.

Aredhel
04-15-2002, 04:27 PM
I agree with Tarien. Actually, I wouldnt mind being married to somebody who kills people for a living. Talk about living dangerously. Unless they were, of course, my friends.

HLGStrider
04-17-2002, 10:28 PM
I know what you mean... Bad thing is when they don't know they are your friends until afterwards... when it's a bit too late.
