Nain and Arathin are walking amongst the extensive caverns, Arathin knows the certain room that Elessar liked, the fabled cell of the dwarves of the lonley mountain. It was where he had put his most valuable scrolls and such, he loved little more than to stand and ponder over them. They were near to half way, when they first heard it, it was a feint sound, barely audiable. Nain's Maian hearing could only barely grasp it, he urged Arathin on to a jog, unsure of the sound. A minute or two later it returned, now plainly the sound of Elessar's horn. They heard deep rumbling in the passages ahead, and found great rubble at the entrance to the cell. There were deep, giant tracks leading longer down the hall, tracks from something so big that made dents with its feet in solid rock. They went into the cell, Arathin grabbing the sword of Thingol, and Nain picked up the Axe of Tuor.(which was used at the battle of Gondolin against Gothmog)
They hastily went down the hall, running in a crouched but ready position. The caves became darker and damper, being less used. They finnaly came to a place where no torches burned, and Nain lit an orb of glowing metal in his hand to light the way, and still the tracks led on. Now they found themselves in a great room, with an underground lake in its center. And behold, on the other side two figures were struggling. One was the biggest troll any of them had ever seen, it was near to three or four times the size of the mountain trolls that lived in the Mistys. The troll turned at the sign of the new intruders, and let out a monsterous cry. At this the top of the cavern seemed to stir, and indeed there were twenty or so of these giant trolls climbing the walls, as do spiders. Neither of them, or Elessar for that matter, could fathom what strange tortures that these trolls had been put through by Sauron, the twisted experaments he used upon them. The trolls were now in a frenzy, and they could see that they were not all the same. Some of them had multiple arms, branching from their heads to their thighs. Elessar saw them, and ran at a dead sprint twards them, he picked them up, one stunned person on each shoulder, and carried them off twards the lake. There was a huge flat piece of wood there, obviously used by the trolls to cross the river and to fish in it (judging by the colony of worms that resided near the makeshift dock). They were out in the middle of the lake now, and the monsters seemed to stay at the edge, fearful of water. Elessar looked at the two, and picked up a handfull of dirty water, splashing it onto the two, who immediately snapped to attention.
"What took you guys so long?"

IC:Nain and Arathin gasp. Nain rushes at the trolls swiping at the elgs and arms of any who came near him. He then noticed that they were staying away from him. 2 went to Ellesar and the other 18 went to surround Ararthin. One troll swings, but Arathin blocks with her sword. Unfortunately, another swung and hit her in the back. Nain's eyes grew red. He charged at the trolls yelling "PREPARE TO SUFFER!!!!!!!" Nain swings with his axe. He chops many limbs of different kinds. He is on a rampage. He sees one try to sneak away to get Arathin. The troll lifts his club, but Nain threw his axe slewing the troll. Nain then pulls out his sword and kills 3 more. Then one nails Nain in the back tossing him against the while. Nain lays still unmoving.

Goldberry hears the rukus and runs to help with whatever chaos is going on. when she sees nain knocked out, she summons a small amout of water to nain and lets it splash over his face. "this is no time to sleep, sir!" she then jumps into the fight, drawing her sword.

Elenya came running in through the open passage. "I heard a noise! What ha..." She saw the trolls and her comrades fighting them off. A strange light grew in her eyes as she drew her ever sharp daggers. With a yell she charged the remaining trolls, stabbing and slashing as she went. Abov the din of battle she yelled, "Get everyone up! There's more trolls comming!"

*she is overslept and trolls move around her luckyly they think Glory is dead or something and they don't attack her she suddenly hears ahorn on her dreams and awakes* "what's going on?"

The water awakens Nain. He sees his friends fighting the trolls. Nain sees many of his friends getting cuts and bruises from wacks with clubs. He cannont stand it anymore. Nain waves his staff with an evil glare in his eyes. A giant metal spike appears in front of Nain. "GoldBerry DUCK!" he yells. GoldBerry ducks out of the way. Nain points his staff at the troll she was fighting. The spike goes flying into the troll. However it cannot go fully through, so the spike keeps flying forward and slams the beast in to a wall and the spike then goes through him. Nain looks at the other trolls and says "Bring it on." 2 run at Nain, but before they make it each have 2 less legs than before. Nain looks at them squggiling on the floor with no limbs while peting The Axe Of Tuor which he now calls Tuor. Nain actually feels pity for the creaturs so he covers there entire body in mithril except for the head. He then waves his staff up and the creatures wrappped in mithril fly up, but just to the hieght of an average man. Then, he waves his hand at the wall and about 10 sharp platinum spikes form on the ceiling. Nain smiles at the trolls then shoots them up at the spikes. Everyone hears two loud horrible screams. With that Nain says "Who's left?"

Arathin awakens with a snap as the water Elessar threw in her face hits her. She gazes around and looks up at him. "What is going on, Elessar? These creatures were never here before."

Goldberry frowns. "You mean you guys dont keep pet trolls just for fun?? and didnt Elenya say more were coming??" Just then, another group of trolls, fewer in number, but larger in size, enter the chamber. "why are they here??"

'CATS TO THE RESCUE!!!" Elgee and her troup of loyal felines burst into the room. One of the trolls is set upon by all the cats at once, clawing and scratching. It bleeds to death quickly.

"All of them are bigger and tougher than normal Trolls because these aren't normal Trolls. These Trolls were tortured and mutated by Sauron thousands of years ago. I don't know why they suddenly popped up now though. Elessar and I have been here long enough that we should have noticed them. I wonder why we hadn't." Arathin and Elessar come back to shore and join in the fray. Soon only one Troll is left. It is the biggest and meanest looking out of all the Trolls. "It will take all of us to kill this one."

"I suppose it is up to Arathin and Elessar since this is their palace. I will stay and fight if they want to, but if not, I'm all for live and let live... even with trolls," murmurs Elgee. "How about it?" Arathin, being the valorous Heroine that Elgee is not, want to stay and fight. Elgee nods, and with the cats prepares for blows. Her frying pan glows with an elvish heat... actually that was the heat from that mornings bacon, but who needs to know that.

Ok Fine!
Arathin and Elessar set guards up around the Troll Cave, to make sure that any Trolls still alive don't remain that way for long. Arathing and the company set out to Lothlorien. The company doesn't run into a thing until after they leave Mirkwood. When they reach the borders of Mirkwood, they are set upon by a huge thirty foot long cat.

Bump rubbed her head affectionately against Elgee's shoulder. Then she noticed Goldberry who had made the terrible mistake of wearing a mouse-gray over coat... MEOWERERERE..... Luckily for Goldberry cats play with their food before swallowing, and the troup managed to correct Bump of her mistake before Goldberry joined the fresh Oliphant (Which, by the way, is the main ingredient to very oversized cat food...) Maybe we can drop by on Fangorn... Bump always wanted to go there.

Arathin jumps off her horse, Gildor, and unsheaths her blade, Rauko Umbar. She then proceeds to slice various orcs in half, thirds, and quarters. "Hey this is very theraputic, isn't it?"

The now very tamed creatures carry us to their home and have a feast in our honor... They even let Elenya give them some listerine... and now they don't have any more bad breath... They also make sure we are well stocked with everything we need, plus a lot of things we don't need... Wasn't that nice of them?

I'm going to find out how far it is to Lothlorien and the best route. *Gildor takes off at speeds that make him seem less than a mere blurr. In twenty minutes Arathin and Gildor are back* It is about ten days at you guys' slow pace. The best route would be to go through that marsh over there. About three days from here. *Arathin points over her shoulder at a small and so distant mass of haze that none of them can really see it* But be warned great evils are in that marsh and if we get lost in it. The journey will take even longer.

She rides ahead, still snickering at Elenya, to the edge of the Lothlorien woods, and suddenly stops. She looks into the wood with a look of terror on her face. Drawing her sword, she shouts to the others. "An evil is in the wood. Be prepared for battle." As she charges into the eves of the wood, she is attacked by beasts the like few of them have ever seen before.

Suddenly one of the creatures jumps down from a tree and knocks her off her horse before she has time to react to it. The whole party hears her scream as she falls to the ground. Gildor kills the creature that had attacked her and stands protectively over her unconscious form, but the creatures keep coming and coming.

She hits him in the gut, then the head, the cats finish him off from their, acting as Elgee's wingmen (for lack of a better word, the people defending either side, like in my brother's airplane game). She manages to lift Arathin onto Gildor's back, allowing the horse to carry the woman away.

They brace themselves for what they fear is the final enimy assault. Suddenly they see a white star in the sea of dust, it shines with undimmed brilliance. Then they see a flying blade cut through the smog, and it seems that it strikes the stone in slow motion. The stone shatters into a thousand little peices, and in a second nothing more can be seen. The combatants turn from the strange sight and engage once again in battle. And yet, even before their blades could clash with the foul beings, another light came from the darkness, this one was huge, for indeed it was white fire, the fire of the greatest demon made holy...

The images in the mirror fade then seem to burn brightly. All can plainly see a young man seated on a horse speaking to an older man. This image fades to the young man in a river, dead. All can tell that this is Isuldor and the old man was his father, Elendil. Arathin's voice sounds flat and lifeless as she recites the incantation over and over. "Ta man te ca. Ta man te ca. Ta man te ca. Ta man te ca." Her voice raises with each time she says it. Soon the image changes to Mirkwood. Elves scurry around like bees hard at work. She and Elessar are standing in a small clearing in front of the palace. They seem to be preparing for a war of some kind. Suddenly the image is broken by a burst of flame. Arathin screams and falls to the ground, unconcious...

Elgee springs upon her cat and they ride off into a set... Elgee is not sure whether it is a sun set or a sun rise or a moon set or a moon rise... she will have to investigate this.

As they ride off into the dim moonrise, Arathin tells them what it was that had struck her down at the mirror. "You see, it was not, as most of you think it was, the drain of the energy." She was saying as they all rode toward Mirkwood. "What you saw I know, but what I saw you know nothing of. I saw not the Dark Lord of the Ring, but a new dark lord. His sign is also the Flaming Eye, but I know not who this new lord is. He is seeking out Mirkwood for unknown reasons. He senced my powers and tried to trick me onto his side. As soon as I assented to his dark path, I would have been his willing slave. On my refusal, he smote me down with his own energies. I was caught unawares by this act, and fell into unconcious to heal the inner damages caused by his mental attack upon me. What we must do is reach Mirkwood, warn Elessar's and my people, and defeat this new threat to Mirkwood. You may come with me, or you may leave now. I won't hold any of you to this new quest."
