No one will ever know. Sorry Bombadil's Bane but no where in Tolkien's writings does it mention anything about Bombadil's fate.

I too, called him a jerk. But I had reason and I say Bombadil's Bae, that you were wise in your decision to change your location in your profile, as it would have caused a lot of controversy in the forum if you had not. I am unsure of the fact that I was the first to pick it up, but those things will not be tolerated on the forum, I can assure you. That type of humour will not be accepted.

I hope your kidding.

Ulairi didn't have a problem seeing the sarchastic, joking nature of my post. :)

Tom and Goldberry had a bunch of kids. Their descendants live on today. You can view them in the movie "The Wizard of Oz". They are now called the "munchkins". :)

LMAO Grond! That's brilliant. I nearly fell off the chair. The munchkins are the coolest little race of people. My younger brother and sister were watching it a couple of nights ago. They are 4 and 8 years of age, my sister being the oldest of the two. They love the munchkin part and I somehow think that they are descendants of hobbits!

Yes that was great. Those munchkins are a bit like mutated hobits.

Who was the author of 'The Wizard of Oz'? It was L. Frank Baum. It was also published before LoTR therefore Baum's idea was original and not based on Tolkien's writings.

In fact this would make a great thread.

Hey man, just because Tolkien had to put pen to paper to backfill the mythology that Baum glazed over doesn't mean that the Munchkins can't be Tom's kids...they certainly were annoying enough to listen to...in fact, I have allways contended that the three characters I would least wish to get stuck between floors in an Elevator with would be Tom, Gollum and Treebeard. Could you imagine what the conversation would be like??:)

"Hey di, hey dol, Tom's a merry old soul" says Tom. "Let's sing a song while we make this elevator roll!"

Gollum, eyeing Tom, whispers to himself, "Is it fat? Is is plump? Is it tasty? Hsssssss my Precioussssss, we is hungry!!"

Treebeard looking at both of the others, "Ranta tanta roommmmm Hroommm! Ronta tonta hooooom dooooom......................" Whispers under his breath, "Where are those Huorns when you need em?"

Ahem, Goldberry straightened him out so he doesn't go hopping and singing all over anymore. He is now a respectable, and normal, wealthy landowner and never had any funny looking munchkin children.

Very much so- they are from Oompa-loompa land, naturally enough, and Wonka saved them from all sorts of hideous predators. ;)
