I like all the battles in the book, but Helm's Deep is the one I'm looking forward to.

It depends, if Helm's Deep stays *somewhat* true to the book (i.e., no Arwen....) then I can't wait to see that battle.
I wonder how they'll do the Oliphaunts..?

Arwen will not be fighting. PJ has made that clear in every interview regarding her. She might be in Helm's Deep, but she won't fight.

The Ents getting roused and tearing Isengard apart. Helms Deep is close behind, but I really want to see how they did their job on the attacking Ents. Helm's Deep will be no problem, that is a battle of Orcs against humans. Less complicated IMHO.

the ents beating the **** out of isengard will be wicked neat

Well I've seen a pic of Gandalf at Helm's deep somewhere and that looked ridiculously cool so I think I'll go for that one.
But the one in Pelenor fields was my favourite in the book! (actually isn't that in RotK?)

Yeah, it is. That will be the battle of all battles :).

Damn right, except maybe the battle of the five armies out of the hobbit, but you don't get to know a lot of what happens in that, what with all the falling over that hobbits do.

The Battle of Five Armies was puny. Tolkien made it seem big and all, but when you count the numbers Tolkien mentions, it can't touch the Battle of Pellenor Fields. Check out the "Atlas of Middle Earth". It's an awesome book, despite a few errors. Battle of Five Armies is something like 1000-2000 soldiers (orcs included). Pellenor Fields is about 10,000 men Vs. 60,000 troops of Mordor. Now that's a battle. The Black Gate is even better, it's like 8,000 men vs. over 100,000 Mordor.

true and it has Gandalf and Black Riders and Hobbits and funny winged helmets!!! You're right, you can't beat Pelenor.

You're right, the battles in Asterix and Obelix are always great and there are plenty of winged helmets.:D

I'd have to say Battle of the Pellinor Fields [think I spelled that wrong]. Thats in the last movie, but the battle will be truly epic, with siege warfare, cavalry actions in the field, not to mention the stand off between Gandalf and the Lord of the Nazgul.

Check out these cool paintings by Alan Lee. Look at the one called "The Battle of Pelenor Fields". That's such an epic picture. Look at the Oliphaunts. That looks awesome. Luckily he's working on the film:

I can't wait to see the Ents and Gandalf emerging in Helm's deep all of a sudden! I'd also like to see Legolas and Gimli compete in the killing of Orcs.
Uuuuh, almost forgot : Gandalf's majestic appearance in Fangorn (it looks great in the trailer!)

I actually personally hope that Gimili and Legolas don't do the game. But what I do hope to see is Gimili kicking some ass with his axe. I can't remeber the specific words, but Aragorn speaks of him with very high respect. And he kills one more then Legolas, which if we compare to the movie Legolas must mean he has some hidden skills. He didn't look too impressive in Moria, but I'm hoping they give him some mad axe skills at Helm's Deep.

When I went to stay with my sister in Wellington in mid year 2000 I think I remember leaving early (7:20 am )to catch the bus into town and seeing several groups of people arriving looking bedraggled and absolutely buggerred. Some arrived in a taxi and all were staggering into the houses as I walked past to the busstop. I honestly thought They must have all been on the **** for an all nighter.
Actually PJ owned a lot of houses down the street and had Accommodated the LOTR workers down the street. So when you see the battle at Helms Deep know this. The night sky is real when it looks black, they filmed all night for 3 months in a Wellington winter. when you see the rain belt in and the wind blow ( it does really howl in Wgtn)some of that is real because the morning I saw them arrive it had been a **** of a night. I personally look forward to Helms deep because I know they spent 90 days out of 270 filming those scenes. PJ also said it was the bit he was looking forward to filming.;)

Helms Deep. For me it's gotta be Helms Deep, not just for the dark and violent battles, or the surprises that pop up in the course of the battle, but because we get a chance to see the relationship between Legolas and Gimli grow, which I look forward to a great deal since being robbed of seeing Gimli and Galadriel interact in the last movie...
Talimon

You'll get that relationship, I can almost promise. But I hope it's not done with the game. Any way other then that. It just didn't fit somehow... :)

True, i also though that helms deep was the best battle, and faramir's ambush was quite good also, not to mention the final battle.
...But in terms of the movie, im most looking forward to the Ents attack on Isengard, although not large in scale, i always wanted to see the ents with their 'anger' and the speed that came with it. Should be interesting to see if it lives up to how ive pictured it? :p

TTT has some truly awesome scenes of the Ent attack on Isengard. At one point I believe the Ents are throwing boulders up against the tower and giving great "Hoom-hums." I think that would be awesome in a movie.

Oh yeah, there are some awesome visual images there. Like pieces of rock flying 100's of feet in the air. :)

Neato. Can't wait. I think Helms Deep and the Ents attack on Isengard will be awesome. I think it would be cool if they put the game between Legolas and Gimli in it. :p

I think the Ents are going to be very hard to film so they look real.... but all the same I can't wait to see them attacking Isengard and also the part where Saruman's rod gets broken.

Helm's Deep, in the trailer at the part where Aragorn orders the archers to fire on the orcs. Wow! it looks awesome.

I think the Ents are going to look fine if only because they don't resemble humanity to a great extent. I'm no expert but I heard that it is much easier to do CGI creatures who look less human. We, as humans, are very critical when it comes to recognizing the authenticity of the appearance of members of our own species, but much less so when it comes to other species.

True, when humans are portrayed in movies by computers they get this metallic gleam, they simply 'taste' or 'feel' fake.
I recently watched 'Ice Age' and it was pretty good until the characters walked in the snow (looked like white sand) and the humans appeared. The mighty bits and bytes still can't do it all.
But the cave troll in Moria looked alive enough. Although the scene was way too long IMHO, at least the created looked ok. I really hope it works out with the Ents like that.

Yeah, the ents are gonna kick some ass! It should be interesting 2 see how they look & also how Trebeard is portrayed. I have a felling the ents storming Isenguard is going 2 be a really strong scene. Helm's Deep will also be exciting, but I'm especially looking 4ward 2 the battles in ROTK, like Pelannor & the one @ the Black Gate.
