RP 45: The 5th age

My idea for an rpg
All races but men and hobbits have died out ort left middle earth. The hobbits are of large numbers but are widely scatterd around middle earth. This is the case because a new dark lord has come forth he was a decendent of aragorn and is a numenorean. However his blood is mingeld with that of dwarves. He has risen sauron from his destruction and is currently reconstructing the rings of power. The new dark lord who goes by the name of gilopiar he drove hobbits from their home in the shire and made sure they were widely scaterd incase they would try to cause any trouble for him. He has power over men as he is a decendant of Aragorn and is the king.

anyway the hobbits were scatterd. and there was a fairly big group of them who had been fighting on the borders of the shire to win there land back they had achievd little but still fought because they loved their land and would surrender it to no one

Well, it would seem Tarien is out of this one, but I'll come up with a human character:

Name: Tar-Estel (or just 'Estel')
Race: Pureblood Numenorian
Age: 60
Apperance: Tall, soft but stong, sea-washed, with storm-gray eyes. She wears a long green cloak over her black attire, and has the ranger's star brooch.
Vocation: One of the last Rangers of the North.
Weapons: Short bow w/ arrows, long rapier, dirk.
Magic: Good at healing.
Misc: Has an Elven bearing, much like her long-dead predescessor, Tar-Miriel. Graceful.

*Belle took finishes her chores and runs off to see her bestfriend Pearl*

I wonder what my old pal Pearl is doing??? I will show her this silver pen I got from my grandfather's horde. Wonder what she'll say to this one.

[Aredhel]

She sees her best friend Belle running down the lane, and rushes out to see her. "I was just having lunch! Come inside."

Hilolicko was planning a major offensive on the shire to recapture it. he called all of the superior hobbits to him and they discussed what was to be done in the battle and they also discussed wether to send a party of hobbits to gondor and rohan to discuss with the men there (they didnt know of the fall of men to the dark lord)

[Aredhel]

"Excuse me, Master Holilicko, can I sit in on this one? I need something to do,"she says shyly.

"of course" he replied "any hobbit who is willing to help us in our strugle is welcome. so you all understand why we have been brought here today. we are going to send a party of 4 hobbits to gondor and we are going to plan are final push. I would like fairly strong and brave hobbits to go on this trip and hobbits who are not afraid if you are willing please volunter now or forever hold ur peace"

[Glory]

Hey, Pearl's not going anywhere without me! Besides you need people of intelligence like me to help you in this Mission...er...Quest....er...plight...(Seems to me I've heard this line before ;) )

She runs back to her little dwelling,"Come on, Belle, let's get our supplies!" She disappears insdide, and returns in a instant with a pack on her shoulders and a bow and arrow. A dagger hangs on her belt.

IC: *Truor Tupnm shows up on the edge of the Shire and notices the hobbits running around, preparing to go into battle the next day* "Yikes! What's going on here? I just came to visit my old friend Kit Baggins! Some kind of crisis?"

*Belle came out carrying her pack, running up towards Pearl*

Excuse me, but I think we are running low on supplies...I know you have plans on the road, Pearl, but I would like to be given at least a sign of confidence that we will not starve on our way to the Shire. I mean it doesn't go well that we fight the enemy on empty stomachs now...right???

[Aredhel]

"I hope we can find food on the way," she says, comforting her best friend.

food is not a problem to be worried about i have that all under control" said hiloicko *he wore his huge pack his armor and was riding a pony he had 3 others with him* "well hop on yours then my frirends and we will be of

[Aredhel]

Pearl takes the next biggest pony and jumps on, trying to feel as brave as her ancestor felt many years ago.She waits for Belle to take hers.

"Im afraid this will be the last march of the hobbits" said hilolicko "but we all must be brave and try are best the rings of power will not be re forged and i for one will stop it"

[Aredhel]

"I am prepared to fight to the death," she solemly swears.

[YayGollum]

*Truor walks up to the fierce looking hobbits* "How have things been here in the Shire? I was just about to go check out some of my favorite inns around here and I noticed that you're all getting ready to go somewhere. Need some help?"

[Glory]

(whiles those event are taking place in the shire...in the woods) *glory IX comes out of house and looks to the sky she had that strange feeling again it was like something important were about to happen*

[Tarien]

Estel rides up on a silver horse. As soon as she reaches the hobbits, she dismounts and bows courteously.
'Glory, my friend, how come you to be here? I thought you were in Minas Tirith.' Her cultured, accented voice was grim, without any trace of hope or joy; the voice of one who had lived in the wild all her long life, guarding the remenants of her charge, one who felt the burden of her ancestors' failure, but could never sucseed in her attempts to attone for it.
'I am Tar-Estel of the Dunadain.' Bitterness tinged her voice as she spoke her own name and title. It always did.
Glory, on the other hand, nearly laughed at the irony of her friend's name, as she always did when Estel herself said it.
'High-hope indeed' she thought.
'I will aid you, if it be in my power to do so, Holbytla of the Shire.'

how do we know we can trust you. your of the race of men and as all the hobbits know men are controlled by the darklord as he is the king. said hiloicko

[Narya]

*Belle tries to look brave although deep in her heart she knows something is very wrong with that statement*

But if my bestfriend Pearl is going, might as well go too. Can't stay behind...

*tries getting on her pony, with great effort*

[Aredhel]

She gets off, and helps Belle on,"There." She says as she jumps back on her own pony.

"I think we are set now,"she syas, then she notices somebody standing by their leader.

[YayGollum]

OOC: Am I being ignored, or am I that somebody?

[Aredhel]

OOC: You are that somebody.

[YayGollum]

OOC: Yay me! I'm somebody! I mean...

IC: to 'the leader' "Hey! I hope you won't kick me out just because I'm a Beorning! Where's Kit? He knows I'm one of the good guys!"

[Kit Baggins]

"I'm here." Kit says from behind Truor. (OOC I've not posted much recently because of exams) Kit grins at the Beorning. "I know you're a good guy." he tells Truor. Then he turns to the others. "This is Truor." Kit says. "He's going to help us win back the Shire!"

[Tarien]

Estel stiffens slightly at reference to the Dark Powers. When she speaks, her voice drips hatred.
'If you think one of the Dunedain would serve one we have fought against so long, you have lost what sense you ever had.' She draws herself up. 'We are the descendants of the Faithful. Our line never listened to the Dark One's lies, even when they were spoken by our king's mouth, and never shall. You are fools to think so.' Something stirs in her memory.
'If by life, or death I may save you, I shall, as long as you fight against the Dark Lord.' Estel says, repeating the words of her ancestor with great emphasis.

[Narya]

*Belle pulls her hood closer to her face*

talks to herself
I have to be brave...I have to be brave...we have to win back the Shire...We have to win back the Shire...but ought we hope for it??? IT's been under the power of the enemy for so long now, will it still be the same?? Will it ever be the Shire that my great-great-great-grandfather used to know?

[Aredhel]

Being the closest to Belle, she overhears her. She rides closer and pats her on the shoulder.

"It will be all right, Belle," she whispers,"Master Holilicko will help us win back the Shire, and return it to what it once was. And then you can go and you can be Thain of the Shire, for if I am correct, you are descendant in a straight line to Thain Peregrin, and then I can go and be Master of Buckland." She takes a breath.

[YayGollum]

"Are we leaving immediately or do we have time for one last hobbit cooked meal? Probably not. I'm ready!"

[Narya]

*Smiles at Pearls' kind words. She now feels a bit more at ease and brave*

Well, let's get along then, whereto now, Master Holilicko?? Do we move east or North?

She turns her pony and follows their leader.

'Let us go' Estel replies. She didn't talk much.

we will be traveling as far as we can holicko said. *he then began to question tuor about the happenings of the world he knewq little of* i am intrested to know what has happend in minas trith and what about rohan are they under the influence of the dark lord and what about sauron now he has been risen what troubles has he caused? holicko asked contiually

Estel suddenly broke off from the group, travelling with such speed that none could overtake her.

*she looked at Hilolicko* "peace....what a beautiful word...." *she didn't seem to notice Estel behavior*

[Tarien]

Estel makes her way quietly through the woods, using all the craft as leader of the Rangers she possesses. Though the others have noticed nothing, she has felt uneasy for days.

Something is tracking them.

[Glory]

*Glory notices Estel's ausence and looks at her sword the sword is just as normal as always she sings in relief but sill feels feels worried*

*hilolicko aproaches glory* "have you noticed the unusal behavior of estel recently im not sure what it is but he looks well diffrent"

[Aredhel]

Pearl just continues to ride silently.

OOC: Whoops! sorry about that. you were going slow

IC: "I don't know much about what's been happening lately. sorry. We Beornings usually keep to ourselves. I was just wanting to visit some of the famous inns in the Shire!"

Pearl..I am hungry. When are we camping and cooking anyway? I feel like my stomache is about to eat me whole if we go on anymore.

I don't know. Whenever the leader says.

*glory looks at hilolicko* "ohh well Estel is something special she can perceive other things sometimes....his senses are a little bit more developed than ours..."

*Glory rides with them until the night falls* "I suggest we rest until dawn"

"Yeah,'she says," I don't think I can ride any longer." She abruptly stops her pony.

*grumbling at the predicament they have encountered*

(whispers Pearl) I told you pearl! We will be hungry and tired and uncomfortable in this mission, oh why did I even bother to come??? Oh, my poor feet!!!

[Glory]

*hears Belle's coment to pearl* "...hobbits...." ¬¬

[Narya]

What do you mean?? HObbits...In case you haven't noticed we didn't have any second breakfast, no nuncheon, no snacks or even a morsel of biscuit since we left. My feet, though hairy and quite warm during ordinary days, are now very sore and I should like a wash and a brush...furthermore...

[YayGollum]

*pulls out a bunch of earthenware filled with honey* "Anybody want some?"

[Glory]

"..and here we go again...complains....mmm..." *takes a fruit from her bag and gives it to Belle* "here you go! eat!"

[Narya]

*takes the offer to her and bites a bit, and also tastes some of the honey and with a full mouth said*

well this is much better. Now all I need is a pint and things will be settled

"Sorry. Can't help you there. So, while we're lounging, what are we planning on doing? From what I've heard, we're going to just run into battle. Anything else I should know?"

[Glory]

"mmm...I don't thinks so at least not yet..." *takes another fruit* "anyone else wants some?"

[YayGollum]

"So, we have no real plan? We're just running into battle against how many people?"

[Glory]

"... 100 ...maybe more..."

[Narya]

*feeling a bit shaken by the thought of going into battle against the big folk without a REAL PLAN, Belle butts in*

Excuse me...but I couldn't help overhearing that WE HAVE NO EXACT PLAN on how to go about this battle??? May I remind you that without a plan we shall all be dead before we even expect to achieve anything. Will you please clear this up... looking straight into Pearls' face half-expecting a nod and a complete and detailed answer.
