I've got an idea--break the forum most online record

it says Most users ever online was 76 on 03-28-2002 at 06:48 PM. well i think we should try and beat it and get basically everyone to come online at the same time so we beat the record by loads and loads and loads. if your intrested post here and start spreading the word. if you intrest someone in the idea refer them to here and get them to post so we know there involved. when we have more then 76 people we will arange a date and send it out to all the people who arent involved then go on at that time

so say we chose 3:00 PM central time, you just change your options and you have the time in your zone......

but then again there is the fact that everyone is from different parts of the world, and that it could be late at night or in the afternoon. Well I say that we TRY to do as best we can but if you REALLY want to break the record, then you will show, if not then oh well.

oh and I think we should shoot for more then just 48 more, because I don't think that EVERYONE will show that says they will..Not saying that anyone is a lier but somme will forget.

We will be doing this the 19th of June at 9:30 PM GMT. To figure out what your time is based on GMT, look at the bottom of the last post. It should "say All times are GMT." After the GMT you will see a either a + or - then a number. Mine says -6 so I subtract six hours from the GMT time to calculate my time.

Then open internet explorer and visit the forum, but don't log in. Just switch the process if you use internet explorer. That way you'll be on there once logged in and another time as a guest.

You know, that 76 user count is not really an accurate reading. That figure was set on a day when a member posted a link to one of the teaser trailers for New Line Cinema's "The Two Towers." At the time, this particular clip was hard to find, so the majority of those 76 people online were guests, not actual members visiting this site.

What I can do is reset the user online record, then you all could set a date to try and get the most members online as possible. Since we have members from all over the world, what I'd suggest is 10:00pm GMT. That should be 11:00am in Los Angeles, 2:00pm in New York, and 8:00am in Brisbane, Australia.

How about this? Everyone interested in setting a new 'users online record' hook up at THETOLKIENFORUM.com at 10PM GMT on Thursday, July 4th, 2002. To help coordinate GMT to your local time zone, check out this site (http://www.worldtimezone.com/).

Just a thought. If you guys decided to make this official, let me know in a PM and I'll make an announcement in News & Updates. :)
