Rondel rides next to Dalfir, a look of concern on his face. "Dalfir, I sense danger not far off, behind us, yet I also sense friends ahead. If possible I suggest that we increase our speed for I think our numbers too few to best that which follows us."

The group travels throughout the entire day a a quick pace. A couple of hours after sunset,
Dalfir says: I think it is time to go to sleep. If we leave tomorrow at sunrise we should reach the White Forest around noon.
The travellers find a safe place to spend the night. Then they hear some footsteps. Sitting close together Dalfir whispers to the others.
Don't make a sound. I don't think that noise is of orcs for they are louder. It sounds like one person. Though I don't see why one person would be traveling alone around here. The sound gets a bit louder.
Dalfir stands up with his sword drawn and says Halt! Who goes there?
A weak voice answers Please don't hurt me. I am only an innocent dwarf.
Who are you?
I am Roin Lightfoot. I have escaped from the Andi moutain. I am trying to get help. The dwarves of the Slillfan Caves were captured by the orcs. They are being held captive in the Andi mountain. Please dear wizard help us.
The dwarf half faints and falls to the ground. Dalfir picks him up.
Tolir get this poor dwarf some water quick. Don't worry Roin I will help you. My friends and I are on are way to the White Forest. I promise that I will get help for you.
Bless you Sir. King Thrond is imprisioned in the mountain too. The orcs have tried to make him tell them where the amulet is, but he doesn't know. Sir wizard Gnargoth the Black has arisen. I never saw him in the mountain. But I could feel his evil presence. The dwarf gasps for breath and coughs.
Yes, Roin, we know about Gnargoth.
Roin is so weak with fatigue and is struggling from all of the beating he reiceived from the orcs.
Sir wizard you must promise me that you will save the King and my kinsmen. Promise me. Roin chokes for air.
Yes my dear dwarf I will save your people. I promise.
Roin dies. There is silence for several minutes. Then Dalfir says We must give this dwarf a burial.
Erolas and Tolir dig a hole. After Roin's burial Dalfir tells everyone to go to sleep. He will keep watch for a while and then wake up the next watchman. The group goes to bed with much on their minds.

*ooc Ok, so I can speak fluent Westron now. Thanks Arcanjo! Anyway*

Celebcristion

I am sorry that I doubted your friends integrity, but we do not trust dwarves anymore since they made pacts with Gnargoth our enemy, the King will tell you all you need to know regarding that matter, and maybe then you will understand my distrust. For the time, it is enough that we all know who's side we are all against.

Rayla, Rolban noro lim an i-Aran. tiri i-Nogoth.

(Rayla, Rolban ride fast to the King. Watch the Dwarf)

Smyern, I need to speak with you alone. Will come with me?? Rayla and Rolban will escort your friend to the Kingdom, you will ride with me.

*Rayla dismounts and rides on the horse with Boffin on the rear. Smyern dismounts and agrees to ride with Celebcristion. They went far into the right flank of the forest while the others went straight to the King with the dwarf. Celebcristion and Smyern reach the borders of the White Kingdom and there Smyern saw a devastating sight. It was like the entire forest was ransacked, burned, and left dead. There were countless mounds on the ground and a stench emitting from the other side of the great pit on the ground filled the air.*

This used to be part of the Kingdom, Smyern. Half of the best archers of the White Forest died here, almost half of our entire army died here...when the dwarves of the Stillfan caves who have joined forces with Gnargoth invaded out city about a year ago. They took us by surprise, since we know that they used to be our allies. Gnargoth promised them much gold, so they left our friendship and joined his. My brothers died here, a year ago. And my mother...(here his voice broke and choked by tears and agony and grief he has long kept inside in silent anger are now rushing to get out into the open. But he tried to pull his senses and his strength together and stopped himself from falling apart. But Smyern could see right through)

Smyern

What happened to her

Celebcristion No I'd rather not...what I said will be enough. Now do you understand my resentment of your friend?? I wanted you to understand, because we need all the elves we can get, I know you trust your friend, and I hope your choice does not turn ill. I will abide by your choice for now. I hope you never regret it.

We have to go now, the King needs to speak to you.

*They both rode on the horse and went in before the King*

The night was full of mysterious sounds. This only added to Dalfir's troubles. He sat awake many hours longer than what he should have. Finally he woke up Rondel and told him to keep watch. The night passed with no problems. At a little bit before dawn Tolir who was keeping watch saw a pack of about 50 orcs. He had to restrain himself from yelling. He quietly crept over to Dalfir who was already awake.
Tolir: I don't men to alarm you but there is a pack of orcs on the horizon. They are far enough away where we could slip away and it wouldn't be to hard.
Dalfir is very alarmed. Though he should have half expected to see orcs on their way to the White forest. Dalfir and Tolir rouse the others. The pack their things quickly and quietly. They slip away under the last cover of darkness. The orcs walking very slow halt for a moment at a signal from their leader.
Orc Leader: Something moves in the distance. Torabrog, Masban go see what it is. GO!
Masban and Torabrog slither into their way toward the group. Cirgan who by the way is clumsy trips over a vine while leading his horse and cuts his leg. He cannot contain himself and screams. Dalfir yells t his friends Mount your horses. Grab your weapons.
Dalfir helps Cirgan onto his horse. And then tells them to go. They obey although Dalfir is not following them (How stupid)
Dalfir on the other hand stands toward the orcs holds out his staff above his head and whispers something. Immediatly a dense fog comes over the orcs and they can't see a thing.
Dalfir spurrs his horse and gallops off.
After several minutes he catches up with the rest.
Cirgan made them stop when he knew the orcs weren't following them. He bandages his leg.
Dalfir: We must hurry to the White Forest. I cast a spell to make fog around the orcs. It will not last much longer and they will be on our trail.

They Gallop off.

Several hours later they reach the White Forest and are greeted by the elves.
ElfWe have orders to bring you to the king come with us.

- I understand your resentment Celebcristion. - Says Smyern in an Elvish tounge (is it Sindarin or Queenya?) - I have also suffered many losses, some of which very recent, and all of them build up in my heart.

As Smyern and Celebcristion ride into the Forest, Smyern shows the map he had taken from Jamiel. - Here, see this. `Tis a map to the caves and galleries of the Andi Mountains drawed by the cursed hands of the Orcs. I do not beleive this is absolutly trustfull, for I know the many limitations to the Orcs` intelect. Still, the drawings are not what is of greater importance here, but yes what is writen. It reads that the Orcs have not yet found the Bracelets of Sianariel in the Andi Mountains, and it reads that Gnargoth the Black is alive in the caves of the Stillfan Mountains. I eager to show this to the King, and my companions, who I have not seen ever since Boffin and I left Trurion.

Smyern and Celebcristion continue on their way, discussing some of the many implications of the discovery of the map.

As they ride towards the Kingdoom, Smyern cannot prevent himself from noticing the many wounds sustained by the Forest in the Dwarvish attack. A year has since passed, but many more shall pass before the Forest fully recovers and heals itself. Not even Celebcristion is sure if he will ever live to see the Forest return to its original beauty and shape. A shade is casted over Smyerns heart, for he does not know if the Elves will ever forgive the Dwarves.

- Celebcristion, have you seen my other companions? Have they already arrived from Trurion?

Upon seeing Celebcristion, Rondel leapt from his horse and knelt in the dirt at his horse's feet. "Great Prince, I bring you greetings from Master Elrond. If I might be of service to you while I and my companions are here, please do not hesitate to ask!"

Smyern! says Dalfir. I am relieved to see you here. We ran into many orcs. I was afraid they may have gotten to you. But where is Boffin? Did you not find him? Dalfir looks worried.
Smyern assures him that Boffin is alright and he is with the elves.
Thank goodness. Dalfir replies with a sigh. Why Prince Celebcriston it has been years since I have seen you.
Celebcriston says Yes it has been many years since our last meeting.
Dalfir says Well then you must update me on the happenings going on here.
That I will. answers Celebcriston. I shall tell you about it as we walk. My father wishes to have an audience with you.

*Tolir jumps off of his horse and starts leading him into the forest* "I can see why the Dwarves dislike forests now. Too stuffy in here! When will I get to meet the Dwarf from your party?"

Dalfir updates Smyern on the latest news. And told him what happened on their way. Smyern was very saddened after hearing about Birgin's death.
Dalfir: This man here is Cirgan he is from Quandro where we stayed two nights ago. He was nice enough to let us stay at his house.
Smyern: Nice to know you, Cirgan. I am glad that you were so hospitable to my friends.
Cirgan:It is good to meet you Smyern I have heard much about you from Dalfir.
Smyern: Oh really. hmmm.
Smyern looks at Dalfir. Dalfir smiles.

OOC: I forgot that Erolas was in my group. With Rondel and Tolir. I hope someone with take Erolas' part until Golberry returns.

*ooc Gandalf_White before we begin the great debate here are a few factors for the benefit of the whole group, let us recount the happenings that lead everyone to the White Kingdom:

The Quest started as a treasure hunt for lost heilooms of the elves. However as we went on with the story, it evolved into something a bit more serious than that. Now we have come to realize that the Treasure we are trying to redeem is actually from the house of Faentaur (His wife Lilliarien is the sister of Elrond, Lord of Imladris). Unfortunately included in the collection are the four amulets of power forged by Finrod and given to Lilliarien for safekeeping. The treasure was kept in four different places for 2 reasons: 1. If the four were to be put together they form the great jewel of life which gives the bearer incredible power and dominion over the four elements of middle earth namely, fire, earth, water, and air; 2. Lilliarien will find it hard to resist the power of putting them together, High-elf though she is, so the temptation of becoming an overlord might be an issue with her

The elves made everyone believe that what was kept inside the Andi Fortress were only Jewels, Gold and mithril, which the Dwarves of King Thrond of the Stillfan Mountains mined for King Faentaur in exchange for food and wine (they had an existing business, and personal relationship before) However two of the amulets of power were kept in the south and northern wing of the fortress. But this information was given and entrusted only to King Thrond.

His general Thorkan one eye however was deceived and seduced by a necromancer who wanted Gnargoth the Black to return and cover the middle earth with darkness. It was Thorkan who made alliances with the orcs and Goblins who came to the stillfan mountains through the Great Northern Sea. They attacked the dwarves first, and were able to capture many of them and held them prisoner first inside the Stillfan caves, however when Gnargoth's remains were brought ashore, they blackmailed the dwarves into fighting on their side to conquer the Andi Mountains, but it was well fortified so they used the pass of Sigin-tarag, delved by the dwarves themselves and unknown to the elves. It was a secret entrance to the Andi Fortress. Using this they were able to enter the fortress and get the first amulet of power, which they placed on top of Gnargoth's vest and gave him some power to fight the elves. The necromancer was there too and he also fought with the elves. It was such a hard battle that no one from the fortress was able to come back to report to the King Faentaur.

So news came out from the White Kingdom that the elves from the Andi Fortress were robbed of some treasure which was sent to Lothalien and offered to Dalfir the Wizard (which he offered to us so we formed a fellowship- remember?). Little did they know that after that forming, Gnargoth and his forces attacked the South Wing of the Fortress and were able to get the second amulet of power making Gnargoth more powerful and the orcs, trolls, and goblins gain in number. The necromancer died during one of their battles for he was slain by Mormarion, Brother of Celebcristion first son of Faentaur.

Trurion came under attack also and are now paying tribute to the Dwarves who have made alliances with the orcs. However some of King Thronds' faithful subjects still fight them and are still in good terms with the elves, until Gnargoth took their families and held them hostage. So they had no choice but to follow his orders, those who don't were locked in the dungeons.

Now here's how the debate is supposed to go, we are all here to decide what will happen to our Quest. Ok, so people keep in character and bear in mind all that I have typed. I have also included a map of what has just transpired and from this map we can make our plans during the debate.

*THE COUNCIL OF FAENTAUR*

FAENTAUR
Friends we are gathered here today to form an alliance and hold council against this great force of darkness who has again entered our shores. The Andi Mountains are no longer held by elves, nor by dwarves but by the forces of Gnargoth the Black. Our mission is to get back the three amulets of power which he stole from us for the hour has come for the stones to go back into the west over Sea.

Gnargoth will attack my Kingom again, and very soon. I have sent word to my Kin in Mirkwood, Thranduil my brother will be sending a host of his best archers to help defend the White Kingdom, however, we can never defeat the dark force unless we defeat Gnargoth himself. So, although the forces of my kingom may hold the dark army at bay, it is imperative that we form an alliance and a plan to destroy Gnargoth the Black.

The council is open, we can begin the discussion.

OOC: This map is really good Narya. I love it.

IC:
Dalfir: King Faentaur may I propose something? I suggest that we somehow lure some of the orcs forces out of the Andi mountain. For surely if we attack the mountain openly even with a huge army our loses would be great. If we have half the army bring half the orcs out of the Mountain. The other half of our army could get inside the Andi and rescue the dwarves and regain the amulets.

Cirgan: What should we rescue the dwarves for? They are traitors! Kill them!

Narya

Celebcristion

At least there is one in your company who still keeps his wits in tact. I believe you are the man from Quandro, am I correct? Dalfir, I respect your love for these...dwarves...but they are not the priority in this mission. Remember that we are in great peril already, we don't need to bother about their plight *giving Boffin a sharp sideward look*

Faentaur
Celebcristion let us hear what Dalfir's reasons are first before we judge his counsel. But first, Dalfir, I should tell you that there is no need to lure the orc army away from the Andi Fortress, they will be attacking us very soon, the archers of Mirkwood will help me and my people fend them off. Giving you and whoever you choose a chance to enter the fortress unnoticed.

They will not expect us to enter the fortress for it is unthinkable to them that we should fight Gnargoth on our own. But you see, he is not like his masters (I speak of Sauron and Morgoth). We can still defeat him, but time and chance is very important in such a mission. Furthermore, there is another entrance to the Andi Fortress which was just later known to me, do you know the Pass of Sigin-tarag, Dalfir? Have you heard of it?

IC: - King Fauentaur, Prince Celebcristion, my Dear Elves of the White Forest allow me to have the word. - Smyern stands up and speaks out loud. - I am Smyern Silverstar, and I have been in this quest for a long time now. At first, I thought this would be something close to a simple treasure hunt, as I was not aware of the true meaning of the quest. Now that the truth has unfolded itself in front of my eyes, 'tis evient that this is not a simple quest or a treasure hunt. 'Tis evident that this is a quest for survival. Survival my friends, survival, which shall only come by the cost of the blood of our enemies, Gnargoth the Black and his wicked companions.
Still, contrary to the common thoughts in this great kingdom, I say that the Dwarves from the Stillfan Mountains are not our enemies. And they shall prove to be with us as soon as the chance arrises.
Mighty King Fauentar, I have only lisned to whispers concerning the Pass of Sigin-Tarag, but I have in hands someting that shall undoubfully be of great aid. I have this map to the Andi Mountain's caves and galleries, drawed by the cursed hands of the Orcs. And it also reads that the Orcs have still not found all bracelets or power, nor does it say how many are missing.

It would be my greatest honour to assist with every power available to me in making sure that these things are removed as far away as possible that they may pose no further threat nor temptation to any of the Eldar.
If it be your will I shall gladly join with those who will attempt to assail this fortress, mighty though it be, in the name of the House of Elrond."

Well, my dear elf, Smyern, there are no longer any dwarves in the stillfan caves, those that inhabit that mountain now are orcs and other dark things. And I feel that they will attack my Kingdom both from that direction and from the West, from the fortress itself. That is the reason why I asked for aid from Mirkwood and...[/B]

*Celebcristion cuts in his father's word...showing great anxiety and stress*

CELEBCRISTION

Smyern, there are many things which have occured that you all have no knowledge of, I thought we have come to an understanding about our side with regards these...people...Cirgan knows my sentiments, since they attacked Quandro too, a little over 8 months ago. Am I not right, Cirgan?

FAENTAUR

Havo dad, Celebcristion! You don't need to show disrespect. I am sure there is a reason why Dalfir feels that way, am I correct, Dalfir? King Thrond has been an ally for so long...

CELEBCRISTION
...But an ally no longer! Father don't you remember what they did?? How they used our trust to lend aid to our enemies?? The everglades father, have you forgotten about the everglades?!!!

FAENTAUR
No I have not! But I do not think it is wise to cloud our minds with emotions during a council...*Celebcristion sits down, feeling more tense and stressed and angry* Now, Dalfir, my friend, you speak of Roin, I believe he was a merchant who frequented our Kingdom before with Mithril, where is he?? Yes, Roin died in my arms as he told me what was happening in the Andi Mountain. I have no knowledge of the Pass of Sigin Tarag. Since my travels have only lead me to these parts once before. King Fauentaur tell us more about this.
Cirgan: Celebcriston you are right Quandro was attacked 7 months ago. I did not mention it to you Dalfir because I thought you would know. You being a wizard and all.

*Celebcristion angered by the remark from the lone dwarf stood up and raised his voice saying...*

CELEBCRISTION
How dare you?! What these dwarves have done to my people, you say?? Perhaps it's time everyone here found out about what these dwarves did to our people, father.

FAENTAUR

We are running out of time my son, and what has happened in the past we should keep in the past until this evil is eradicated from the face of Middle Earth! We have other pressing business than to skulk in our misery!!

*at this the prince left the council hurridly and not with a last remark at the dwarf. Celebcristion bumped the chair Boffin was sitting on, making the dwarf choke on the wine he was so contentedly drinking*

FAENTUAR

I am sorry for his actions, Celebcristion is very young, and grief has taken hold of his heart. I don't know what the reasons were but the dwarves of King Thrond did attack us thrice before they all disppeared. The last two attacks were devastating to me and my household for they killed 3 of my sons were killed and the last battle took away my wife. The dwarves of the Stillfan caves ambushed her company as they went to the grey havens where she was to depart into the sea, the captured her and took her to Gnargoth. She bore the amulet of fire with her. And that is how Gnargoth came to possess the third amulet of power. I have no time to grieve over my loss for I see that Gnargoth has not wasted any of his time. He attacked Trurion and Quandro fearing the appearance of another slayer from those villages. For the first one who managed to kill him came from Trurion (Please see the thread titled RPG 48 Histories for the background on this). But since then the decendants of that man have scattered through Quandro and Trurion and his legacy remained a secret, and now a legend.

Ice Man

OOC - I am assuming that all the characters in the council are aware of the stories at "RPG 48 The Quest - HISTORIES"

- Azargan is not here with us, and we shall not rest our hopes on any of his descendans. What I want to know is how Azargan defeated Gnargoth the Balck in his first comming, where is the Pass of Sigin-Tarag and what dangers shall we encounter if we travel through it. That is what I find of greatest importance at this time.

*Outside, Tolir almost gets run over by the peeved Celebcristion* "Woah! Hey, I was listening to that, and don't you think your actions were a little ill-timed? Shouldn't you be in there, helping them come up with a plan of attack? Come on, you're a prince! Shouldn't you be one of the leaders?"

*ooc I would like to invite everyone to write a short history about their characters inside the Histories thread. Like you Dalfir and Smyern, and Boffin, where is he from, who were his relatives...you know? To make this story very lively and very LOTR!

IC

CELEBCRISTION *turning his attention to Tolir*
If I were to lead none of you would come! * and he leaves the council and did not return again.

FAENTAUR

Well, Smyern, there is proof that some of his descendants live nearby still, and we can find them, it is only with that person can we rely for help. The Pass of Sigin-tarag according to my sources was built by King Thrond's Rebelious general Thorkan the one eyed. They disliked the friendship King Thrond and I have forged for our peoples and have been insisting that we hand over the Mithril Mines of Andi to them, I paid no attention to their threats since I trusted King Thronds authority over them. Also they were his troubles...or so I thought. They used that pass to get Gnargoth inside the Fortress. But a guardian watches the entrance to that pass, and this guardian is so dangerous that none of Gnargoth's forces could use that pass without a dwarf with them. That is I think the reason why he imprisoned the dwarves. If that is the case, then I think Dalfir is right. We may have to rescue them. They still pose a threat to us though. If Gnargoth seduces them or threatens them they may fight us instead of aiding us.

I suggest we find this descendant of Azargan. Do you have any idea of their whereabouts Dalfir??

Dalfir I believe that the desendants of Azargan dwelt in Quardro. Didn't they Cirgan?
Cirgan Yes they did about 20 years ago. There was one man a very aged man who said he was Azargan's grandson. Of course everyone in the city thought he was crazy. We were always told that Azargan's desendents were all dead. If you want more information I am sure you might be able to find some facts in the arcives of Quandro. It probably would give you a lot of info. No one ever bothers to read the old books anymore though.

Yes, I believe that would be the best we can do for now. We have to search the archives of Quandro if that is the last place any of Azargan's descendants were seen. However, there is a dark side to that story. But we will not utter it here. I don't think it is fit, nor wise to say such things.

Well, this at least is for certain, Dalfir, you have to plan on what to do, and who to bring along with you, this then is my counsel: Take a group with you to Quandro and search for Azargans' missing heir, then from there strike northwest and you will find the pass of Sigin-Tarag. I also think it is imperative that you take Boffin with you for he's a dwarf and though he lives far from here, he may have other talents that only dwarves can have. *The King said smiling at the dwarf.

Well,Dalfir, you may choose your fellowship now.

- Tolir I cannot imagine how things could be more uncertain now. Before actually leaving to the Andi, we must go to Quadro and search all that lies within its library, for we need to find records that lead towards the descendants of Azargan. I don't think we shall all go to Quadro and, as a matter of fact, I do not wish to go there. I will stay here with my kin in the White Forest. I do not know if I'll ever be here again, so I want to learn and discover as much as possible about this marvelous place. - Yes, I do, but lets not talk here. Lets talk somewhere else. - Smyern and Boffin get out of the Council Room and walk through the Forest. Some Elves passing by give them a strange look, how could an Elf and a Dwarf walk together and talk friendly in the White Forest? Smyern wasn't bothered by the looks he received, neither was Boffin.

They walk until they reach a small waterfall in the middle of the Forest, its sound is relaxing, so Smyern decides to stay there with Boffin.

- Boffin my friend, so many things have happened that we haven't found any time to talk things over. Much of which you wish to know will not make you happy, but it is not fair to delay the truth from you anymore. Jamiel and Jaquel were killed in Trurion. Althorn saved my life, but died in the woods surrounding Trurion. Birgin died on the way to Quandro, after bravely fighting in Trurion. Sad days these are, and I do not know if we are blessed to have survived so far, or if we are only rushing towards our fate. Sorry for not telling you this before, but I thought there could be an easier way for you to know this. I was wrong. Once again I was wrong. I have made many mistakes dyuring this quest, and I shall live to rectify my mistakes and honor those who I have lost, or I shall die trying to do so.

Boffin looked into Smyern's eyes, which were black as the as the deepest bottom of the deepest seas. Still, Boffin could see that such eyes were full of a fire burning anger, which would take more than a Dwarf lifetime to be extinguished.

- Come Boffin, we must not be gone for long. - Says Smyern to Boffin as they walk through the woods.

Dalfir, I believe it is a wise decision. However, the road back to Quandro will be guarded, you will need the company of elves to help you. If I may give you one last counsel, I suggest you take the whole group, It is not wise to separate yourselves during these desperate times. Also, Quandro may have a map of the road towards the pass. We have none, I have no knowledge of it, had it not been for a few of my scouts. And they were also slain in the process. I have no clear idea of where it is and how to get there. Adding to that, the Guardian of the Pass is unknown to me...but maybe not for Boffin the dwarf. You will need his help.

*meanwhile, in the outskirts of the forest, near the everglades, Celebcristion stood looking out to the mounds covered in soil and grass. The stench of the place was unbearable but he endured it, reminiscing the pastm he weeps slowly, bitterly to himself, until he couldn't contain it any longer. He could feel his heart beating so hard that it felt like it wanted to explode. Tears welled up in his sea blue eyes, and his sobs grew louder, and louder, until he felt like he was dying over and over. They followed the sound until they saw in an open clearing Celebcristion kneeling beside an earthen mound, crying as though his heart would break. Without another thought, Rondel started forward. Rolban grabbed his arm to restrain him, but Rondel shook him off. Dalfir and Faentaur soon announced to the entire party that they would soon be leaving to Quandro, and so they were all taken to the common rooms (which were some tents built under some 200 feet tall trees) to sleep and rest for the short night that was comming. There was the option of sleeping over trees too, but not everyone (aka Cirgan, Tolir and Boffin) was comfortable with that, so they all stayed on the ground level. At one point, Boffin even said: "I like to sleep where I can wake up and smell mithril in the ground under me." Smyern laughed to Boffin's statement, it had been a long time since Smyern had laughed to something, such a long time that even Smyern himself felt awkward by catching himself laughing.

Smyern didn't sleep at all that night, neither did he rest. Smyern spent the entire night sitting on top of a tree and thinking about the entire quest. He was convinced that Dalfir knew from the beggining that it wasn't going to be just a simple quest.

In one moment of the night, Smyern saw that there were two Elves watching where Boffin was sleeping and snorting. Smyern wouldn't have bothered in any normal situation, but those Elves were holding their bows and arrows, while their wispering (which no Human, Dwarf or Hobbit in the world could listen to) was very dusturbing. Smyern gently jumped from tree to tree until could could land on the ground behind the two Elves. Then he, in a quick and silent movement of Amnetiz, cut the strings on both bows and stood in front of the Elves.

- What are you two doing here with your bows at this time? - Said Smyern in Sindarin.
- We are watching the one of the traitors. We will kill him if he dares to wake up and even give a step in false. Why did you cut our bows? Have you betrayed us and teamed with the traitor? - Answered one of the Elves.
- I am personally taking care of Boffin, my friend, and he is just as much as a traitor as I am. So, if you attempt to do any harm to him, you must first get through me, and I warn you that I am not kind to my enemies. Be glad, for neither of you are my enemies, and have the talent to not fool yourselves into rushed unthought decisions. Leave now, your presence is not needed or desired.
- Smyern, not all Elves in the White Forest are as kind as King Faentaur. The traitor's time will come, and so will come the time of whoever stands with him. You have been warned. - With that, the two Elves ran into the night, disapearing in the forest. Smyern stood still and did not leave Boffin's side until came the time when the entire party was to be awoken.

They woke up early in the morning when the King Faentaur and Celebcristion arrived at the common rooms with all the horses and goods for the party to travel. Celebcristion had a much angry face, and was obviously unhappy with the situation. Still, Smyern greeted him and the King in the nicest tone possible, ignoring the events of the past night. - Good morning my mighty King, good morning my beloved Prince. May the rising sun bring the Kingdom the good fortune it deserves, let the sun guide us in our trip, and enlighten our hearts for our lives. Let me wake those who still sleep.

After crying a river over Rondel's shoulders, the prince decides to leave the place and return to his quarters. Rondel stayed where he was and watched the young prince go. Rolban stood behind him.

In the morning, the prince Celebcristion woke up early and did many errands before proceeding to the stables to get the horses needed for the Quest. King Faentaur told him of the part he has to play for the fellowship, and although unwilling, he accepted the will of his father. The amulet of water was given to him and he wore it on his neck hanging upon a chain of mithril.

He met Smyern inside one of the common rooms and there he was greeted corteously. He did not return the gesture, instead, he turned away from the elf and went to the rooms were the armor, and weapons are.

The King gave the group last advices and last of all he summoned Dalfir. They talked long and secretly and Dalfir was very much troubled when he returned to the group. But he would say nothing of it.

Almost an hour passed before Dalfir returned from his talking with the Faentaur. The party used the time to have a much deserved breakfest and to gather their supplies. Some of them also went to the weapon room and found some new weapons to help them. Smyern got himself a bow and a quiver full of arrows, although he much prefered a close melee combat with Amnetiz in his hands, but he knew one could never be too safe.

Then, while he was awaiting Dalfir, Smyern saw the Amulet of water hanging on Celebcristion's neck. The amulet was made of pure gold, with a stone incrested in the middle of it. The stone was white almost transparent, but shined a soft blue light, as blue as the skies in a sunny day with no clouds. Looking at the stone, Smyern would feel an incredile peace and quiteness inside of him, as if all his troubles had been simply erased form his mind.

Then, as Smyern felt peacefull, he looked at Celebcristion's face and saw anger, frustration and regret. Celebcristion was suffering and he needed help. Smyern approached Celebcristion and mafde an attempt of having a conversation, Celebcristion simply said: "I do not feel like talking now. Let me be." Smyern felt sad for Celebcristion, but there was nothing he could do at the moment, so he turned his attention to Boffin, who was eating in one meal what Smyern would eat in five.

- My dear Boffin - said Smyern - Why is it that you eat so much? Are you afraid this is your last meal?
- Aye Smyern, I am tired of eatin' at the road, so I'm enjoyin' this meal as much as I can.
- You do well Boffin, it will come in hand to have a healthy you with a us during the trip, and not a starving Boffin.

When he finally returned to the group, Dalfir said a few words, and then jumped on his horse to lead the party on the road towards Quandro. Smyern would be riding Herugwin, a magnificent black stallion, strong, tall, fast and loyal. Boffin was riding Pooftop (I like this name :D), which happened to be the best pony available in the forest.

Dalfir rode a white horse named Kierano. (Dalfir loves white horses) He was unusually quiet that day. He was not in his usual talkative mood. So much was on his mind. He feared that if Gnargoth realized that Azargan's descendant lived in Quandro he would send forces to destroy the city not letting anyone escape alive. Dalfir had images of this in his mind and it tormented him very much. Another thought crept into his mind. What if Azargan's descendent was dead. Maybe Azargan's relatives were all deceased. He thought about his friends. He had known from the beginning that their quest would be dangerous. But he had never anticipated any of the dangers they had been through already. Dalfir did not wish to endanger his friends any longer than he had to. After they were done in Quandro he would not make them come to the Andi with him. They could come of their own free will. Cirgan who was riding close to Dalfir noticed his worried look. "Don’t worry, Dalfir," he said. "We WILL find Azargan’s kin." Dalfir smiled. Cirgan was a good man. Cirgan was a good man with a pure heart. Dalfir talked with Cirgan about how his belief, as well as others, was that the dwarves had not attacked his city on their own. But that Gnargoth had deceived them into fighting for him. "Are you sure about that?" asked Cirgan. "I am almost positive," answered Dalfir with a grin. Cirgan gave a half confused half smile kind of look. "You mean that the dwarves aren‘t so bad after all?" he said looking back at Boffin. Boffin gave Cirgan a smile and a wink. To Boffin’s surprise Cirgan smiled back! Dalfir said, "Give Boffin a chance. I am sure that in time you will see that he is a lovable person." Cirgan stopped his horse (who‘s name was Eriath). When Boffin and Smyern came up to him he began to ride with them. Boffin was confused. This man who had so hated and ignored him was now riding at his side? Surely he must be dreaming. Cirgan gave Boffin a big smile. Then he said, "Boffin, I am renaming my horse. Now he shall be called Roin. Named after the dwarf I met in these very woods." Boffin was still confused but asked, "Have you had a change of mind about us dwarves?" "No, master dwarf," answered Cirgan. "It was more like a change of heart."

Come Rondel, let us scout the area. Rolban you had best stay with Dalfir and the group.

*then he and Rondel rode their horses and went each in the opposite direction, pretty soon they were no longer visible. The group camped under large Fir and Birch trees, stretching their branches outward like the loving arms of women when meeting their husbands at night. The stars went up in the sky and the moon shone very bright, in fact, the night was so beautiful that Celebcristion felt like he was in another dream where he and his family were still together happy*

A Elbereth, Gilthoniel! He said softly as he saw a bright star rise and twinkle in the night.

After scouring the area thoroughly he started back, back to the camp, and the first thing he saw was Boffin the dwarf, eating, and beside him was Smyern, they were talking like close friends do. He then remembered his friends from the Stillfan Caves, he had plenty, they would come to the Kingdom bearing all sorts of magical and beautiful crafts made by hands, his favorite were their toys wrought of Mithril and gold, and their stories about Hobbits and about dragons, he loved them all. A smile started to show in his face, and for a second had Boffin noticed it, Celebcristion was actually smiling at him. But the scent of fire brought back the memory of that fateful day in the everglades, the day he saw his mother, Queen Lilliarien dead, her head was stuck on a spike, and her body not far from it. Her face torn by dwarven runes etched deep by a blunt edged knife. It said, death to the elves. And immediately the smile turned to his usual frown, and his heart grew cold. Dalfir saw everything from a distance though he made no mention of it.

The forest is clear, Dalfir. And though the birds and larger animals seem to missing, the crickets are still here, and that is good news. Has Rondel returned? I will make a second round.

"My friend, it is I!" called Rondel softly as he emerged from the shadows. "Is something amiss that you should be so nervous? Has the prince returned? He had asked me many questions as we rode that I was too distracted to answer at the time and I should like the chance to speak with him again."

As he spoke he noticed a distant look in Rolban's eyes. "Is there something concerning you? You appear saddened..."

Smyern and Celebcristion walked the roundabouts for a while, not knowing that Rondel was back at the camp. It was a cold night, with a shivering wind comming from the distant Andi. The clouds were hiding the moon and the stars, it was a very dark night. At a given moment, Celebcristion stood still and said (in Sindarin):

- I know this wind, it brings the cold rain in its clouds. Winter is comming. We will have trouble to endure the winter in the Andi mountains.
- Which adds to the long list of trouble we have. - Said Smyern.
- Indeed.
- Do you excpect us to find the descendant of Azargan?
- Yes, but it has been long since I've placed my hopes over humans.

Smyern and Celebcristion talked for a while, mostly about the weather and other small issues. Smyern did not want to say anything that would make Celebcristion uncomfortable, for he was not sure of how mush Celebcristion trusted him.

Shortly after, the returned to the camp, there they saw their companions talking and protecting themselves from the cold night.

CELEBCRISTION

Smyern, I...I... His words drifted and half embarassed and confused on what to say to this elf, he turned his attention to the wizard and their companions covering themselves in thick blankets. He got out a more blankets from his horse and gave them to Cirgan and Tolir, and to Smyern. Here, give this to your friend. He will freeze if the night turns any colder. then without looking at the dwarf nor Smyern, he turned to Dalfir.

Dalfir, I believe the fire won't last for the whole night, and the cold winds will be too much even for elves to bear if the rain comes. Maybe we should find more wood for the fire in case this night proves to be too cold. I volunteer to find more wood, there is no rest in me tonight. trying hard to avoid the Dwarf's glance, and doing everything he can to stay away from the group. Then he saw Rondel with Rolban.

Rondel, our little conversation was abruptly cut off. We can continue it now. Rolban and I are both eager to hear news about Rivendel.

Smyern and Boffin talk themselves during the night and shared many of there experiences. Smyern laughs as Boffin tells how he was unskilled for mining or forging, but it was not a mocking laugh, it was a laugh of friends who remember god times they had together, although Smyern was never there with Boffin. Smyern also told the Boffin how he came to be the owner of Amnetiz (I'll post this later in the RP48 stories) and Boffin was amazed to discover that young Elves could be as irresponsible as young Dwarves. - We have more in common that we imagine. - Said Smyern to Boffin after he told the story of Amnetiz.

Although they were not chosen to be on watch, SMyern and boffin spoke so much to each other that they lost track of time and did not sleep at all.

Rolban dismounted and tethered his horse, then they walked deeper into the forest. "What would you know of Rivendell my friends? It is much as it has been. Very little ever changes there. There has been little activity on the borders of late thanks to my scouts."

Rondel glanced at Celebcristion. "You asked me of your fair cousin, the Lady Arwen. She has grown in wisdom and beauty without measure since your earlier days together, my Prince. And she has a love that she harbours deep in her heart that Master Elrond is not entirely pleased with. It remains to be seen what the outcome there will be...as for my traveling in this company, let us say that I was at loose ends and now I shall travel with them for a time..."

He then turned to Rolban, "What of you? I know nothing of you, yet there is about you the air of sadness and deep thoughts. What is it that concerns you? However if you don't wish to speak of it, I will endeavor to curb my curiosity!"

Cirgan (chating with Tolir who by the way is no longer ignored)I am glad there is another human on the quest besides me. I would feel rather out of place with none of my race here. Yes, I am from Quandro. It's a nice small city. But I've been itching to get out and do something since the day I was born. Now that I am caught up in this quest I feel I expected too much. Dalfir answered that he was worried about Azargan's descendant, and he was worried with the real situation of the Andi. He didn't say anything else, and Smyern let him be.

Sensing that Celebcristion was still saddened, Rondel brought the firewood he had gathered over to the pile others had collected, then returned to the other two, gesturing for them to join him in conversation.

...when the sun reaches moon and darkness claims the day, I will sing of Elbereth, and dance the night away. She will guide my lonely heart, away from middle earth, where the undying lands meet my woes and fill my heart with mirth. Where the seas and mountains meet, and my kindred dwell in peace, so shall my sadness end when I depart through the havens by sea... the prince softly sang as the sun slowly rises in the horizon, and the new day meets them all a fresh and the group wakes up to a cheerless morning. The birds did not sing to brighten the day and in the slowly dying embers of their watchfire the cold of the night still crept and chilled their bones. The prince hudled under a large fir tree covered himself in his cloak looking through the morning mists he thought he saw a shadow of a man peering. He jumped and swiftly unsheathing his sword he rushed to the shadow, waking Smyern, Rondel, Rolban, and Dalfir with his light but panicked footsteps. But the shadow disappeared, it moved fast and to the direction of Quandro.

It was not long before Rondel and Rolban were behind him, and Smyern not far.

This is not the first time us Elves live through great dangers, neither will it be the last time. Still, I will not place my hopes over one person who had the fortune of being a descendant of Azargan, neither will I place my hopes over any human. I shall place my hopes on the strength that lies within us Elves, and on the oure and noble motives that fill our hearts.

Smyern then returns to his place besides Boffin and whispers to his ears - Don't worry Boffin, I trust you more than I trust anyone else here, but it wouldn't have been wise to say so right beside "him".

CELEBCRISTION

SMYERN

They were dwarves from another Kingdom!! Boffin is from far away, from the Lonely Mountain, Celebcristion, he had nothing to do with your wars, and with your grief! You shouldn't treat him like this!!

CELEBCRISTION

Dwarves are the same wherever they may come from. The dwarves of the lonely mountain are not much better than the dwarves of King Thrond who was considered of noble kind as far as dwarves go, and he betrayed us!! And if it is distrust that you wish to speak of, what about your distrust of men?

SMYERN

My distrust of men has been proven by history, for men are weak and they have showed their weakness far too many times. My distrust has foundation, Celebcristion. *At this Cirgan and Tolir started. They did not like the mention of their being weak. Rondel and Rolban did not like this turn of events. Dalfir stood in silence and shook his head at this needless bickering*

CELEBCRISTION

Smyern noticed that Boffin was hungry by the end of the noon, and he spared the Dwarf an apple, but the only words he shared with Boffin were: "Take this friend, I can see you are hungry."

Boffin did not answer, for he had known Smyern well enough to know when the fellow Elf was not in the mood of any cheap talk.

He was learning to read Smyerns dark deep black eyes.

Whenever Smyern did not want to be bothered, he would sharpen his eyes and look far into the distance.

IC:
Dalfir is softspoken and mostly ignores the arguments around him. It hurts him to think his friends would so easily quarrel. There was hope for the quest. But only if the company was true to eachother. Dalfir, though he had had worries about not finding Azargan's descendant found new hope somehow. He felt as though the heir was going to be easier found than he thought.

Cirgan has made great friends with Tolir. Yes, Quandro isn't the kind of city I'd call exciting either. I think it would have been fun for me to go to live with the dwarves. I have always had an interest in mining and such. Cirgan is a little agitated that Smyern does not like men. After all he thought to himself Azargan's descendant is a human. And he is the one we must put our hope in. Well Tolir and I will have to show him how strong we are.
Cirgan thought about Prince Celebcriston... Why was it so hard for him to forgive the dwarves. I suppose it was because of his family's deaths. I did not lose anyone myself who was so dear to me.

CELEBCRISTION

Rondel, how would you describe these men that attacked the horse of Tolir? I believe they were of the same folk as that spy that had been in the shadows that morning about two days ago. It will rain soon and we shouldn't stay in this forest for long, we cannot trust these woods for shelter. Let's head back to the others and devise a plan to get to Quandro today.

*then they both left the place where the animal had been killed, and returned to the rendezvous point and told Dalfir all that had transpired. It was now the Fourth day of their travel and Quandro was not too far ahead. Then as if to make matters worse, it began to rain, and it was pouring heavily.*

CELEBCRISTION

*to Dalfir, and speaking loud to make his voice heard in the hard pouring rain* We have to stay low and quiet, Quandro is guarded by men who are doubtful of anyone that enters the City. We should see the first house right after the brook that crosses the borders of the forest. *he pointed to the brook now flowing heavily with water about 20 meters to the east. To the elves he said* Get ready for anything! We shan't be caught unawares this time, draw your weapons. *and in the gloom of that rainy morning they ventured towards the brook*

*Motioning to Rondel and Rolban to move ahead and scout the area befor the group crossed the brook, Celebcristion, Smyern and Boffin got their weapons ready for anything that would come out of the other side. Rondel and Rolban disappeared in the thick bushes that guarded the entrance to Quandro, and a little later they returned and told the group that all is well, but that they should still be wary. So the group went forward once more, and entered Quandro. The first house wasn't there anymore, it was burned to the ground. There were signs that a fight occured here not more than two nights ago, and in the wet ground could be seen broken arrows and swords and mail, all were Goblin-kind, and a few paces to the South they saw embers of dead carcasses still burning, its smoke rising up. It was the Goblins. They were slayed by the men of Quandro.*

Our mission here is to find the heir of Azargan. The record book of Quandro will tell us who he is now, but finding the record book isn't gonna be easy. *SPOILER* we would need to fight for it, so be ready. Another thing, Gandalf_White, please clear up your pm box, I can't pm you at all, I wonder why, or check your blocked file, cause I think you blocked me by accident.

THE QUEST...SO FAR

The Quest began on Midsummers' Eve in the 3rd age when Dalfir the wizard received word from the White Kingdom that rebellion has ignited in the mithril mines of the Andi Fortress way up North. The King of the White Forest sent for him to negotiate with the rebels and set things aright also to recover some of the treasures of Thranduil's house that have been plundered during the said quarrel. Little did he know the true peril of the journey that lay in front of him.

Meanwhile, long after the messenger went back to his home, Dalfir sent invitations to four Kingdoms in Middle Earth to help him with his mission, and from the Kingdom of Thranduil came the elves Erolas and Jamiel, also from the Lonely Mountain came the dwarves Birgil and Boffin, and from the Eastern Forest of Lothalien came the good elf Smyern (Formerly known as Arcanjo). With them came men from the North. And they journeyed together guided by Jamiel who went to the White Kingdom often since he was a scribe and taught the sons of the King the languages of Arda (which included Westron, Khuzdul, and Dark Speech). But the last time he went forth he was hindered by many Goblins and wargs that were now curiously abundant in the Black Hills. Luckily he survived they're sudden attack and was able to return safely to Mirkwood.

It was on their fourth night together, inside one of the caves in the Black Hills that they first encountered danger. Trolls as big as trees, 15 of them came rushing towards the unsuspecting group, and in this battle Erolas and Jamiel were badly injured when the wall of the cave gave way after the leader of the troll pack rammed into it in a bid to bury his enemies alive!. They were all saved by their courage and strength though not without injuries, and the group, still confused with the sudden twist of events, continued their way towards the nearest town to rest and gather news.

The town was Trurion – a bustling city of merchants. It was the first City to visit when traveling from the East (Like they were). But now, the City seems to be in great suspicion of everyone including potential customers. But after much haggling and negotiations, the group was allowed entrance and they stayed in the City’s only opened inn. The City Mayor (who now was run down by misfortune) is the innkeeper, Mr. Hildrin. He limped on his left leg, for he was at the Battle of the Everglades almost a year ago. In the City of Trurion they learned much – it was by fate that Jamiel learned about Gnargoth the Black and his reappearance in middle earth. Then they also realized how the city of Trurion has paid dearly for their stand against the enemy, and now many have sided with them.

Cont....

The orcs and Trolls of Gnargoth the Black attacked the group while on their way out of the City. In this Battle, the two men of the north perished and Birgin was gravely hurt (and later died), Jamiel was also killed by a poison dart while defending Boffin from his attackers. It was also by this time that Rondel, a Knight of Imladris sent by Elrond himself, came into their aid. So the group sadly lessened (Dalfir, Smyern, Boffin, Erolas, and Tolir) hurried for shelter. Smyern rescued Boffin from his captors, and went in haste towards the White Kingdom – the nearest haven. While Dalfir and the others rested in Quandro, a City of Mariners. Here they met with Gargan and his family, and they also met Cirgan, a man of little history (or concealed for other purpose) who accompanied them on their next journey, which was to meet the group in the Kingdom of the White Forest.

It was during Smyern’s and Boffin’s arrival at the laughing brook at the edge of the forest that the Prince, Celebcristion and his general Rolban, saw them and took them to his father, King Faentaur, while on their way to the castle Dalfir and company (who on their way to the White Forest met the dwarf Roin, who was escaping from the dungeons of the Andi Fortress, with a deadly wound in the back, and he also died in Dalfir’s arms) also rode up and they all went inside the safety of the castle.

The King quickly called for a council, since no clear notion was gathered for the group, the council provided many answers to many questions. and in that council a fellowship was made for the destruction of Gnargoth the black.

Their first task is to seek the one who can weild the Jewel of Life, the rightful Heir of Azargan (please see the Histories thread for a backgrounder on Azargan). Then the group should find a way into the Andi Fortress without getting noticed (or killed) and then destroy Gnargoth. But to do that they should have all four amulets and it must be worn by the heir of Azargan which they still haven't found yet.

And now, this quest has led all our heroes back to Quandro.

The party walk into Quandro and saw the destruction brought by the Goblins. Much of the city was destroyed, but it was in a much beter condition than Trurion was at he time the group left it.

Walking more into the city, Smyern saw an old man standing a the door of his house, cursing into the air and waving a small broom as if it could prevent any more enemies from launching an assault over the city. Smyern walk in the direction of the old man and gently aked him: "My dear, how sad it is to see Quandro in such state. Please, tell me, what has happened here?"

- My good lad - the old man had strong voice, but his tired eyes could not even tell the difference between a human and an elf - it was those %&$# goblins! Those cursed dark goblins! It was two days ago, they came upon us in the night and attacked my city! Ah! If only I had the strength of my grandson, I would have given them what they deserved! - The old man rambled on for a while, but he did not add much to what he had said.

Smyern returned to the group, turned to Dalfir and asked: "Dalfir, I have never been here, but you have been here some few days ago. Where to now?"

*slowly walking into the town, hoping that Dwarves had nothing to do with it, Boffin looks for a place to eat that hasn't been destroyed yet, while still trying to look concerned for the humans who's lives have just been forever altered* "Hey guys, I found a pub over here!"

*makes sure to handle his axe carefully while jumping off of Cirgan's horse* "So, you said you don't think this Azargan guy has any descendants. I hope you're wrong!"

"What difference will it make if we find Azargan's heir? Do you think he will he have an extra arm or be ten feet tall? I do not. Humans are all the same." Thinks Smyern to himself.

- Lets go in the tavern Boffin, we might find someone to talk to and gather information.

Rondel walked at Rolban's side as they entered the city and he glanced uneasily around. "I dislike the cities of Men. How close and shoddy they seem! I long for the forests surrounding Rivendell, for here there is filth and squallor at every turn. How can they live like this?"

*stomps in and sits at a table* "Hey, barkeep! I hope you still have some decent food and drink here because we've been traveling!" *remembers Pooftop, outside* "And where can we put our horses?"

*overhearing the elves* "Ummm...don't you think it's filthy because they just got attacked?"

Dalfir sits down at the bar. Just water for me. he said. (Dalfir is not much for stiff drinks.)
Cirgan and Tolir sit down next to Dalfir. Two beers over here. says Cirgan.
Dalfir: Cirgan where is this library? I only hope it's not destroyed.
Cirgan: Yes Dalfir I hope it's still in one piece. Cirgan says to the bartender after he gets his beer. Thanks. Um excuse me sir. Is the library still in one piece?
Bartender: Well the building is still in one piece. But for some strange reason most of the books were taken.
Dalfir and Cirgan exchange worried glances.
Dalfir asks: Do you know which books were taken?
Bartender: Why do you fellows ask so many questions? As if I knew anything. I've already told you what I know. Go to the library yourself, if you are so interested.

- Tell me where the library is! - Said Smyern in an imperative tone.
- Down the main street in front of the main square. Why do you want to know?

Smyern didn't even bother to answer the bartender's question, as he rushed out of the tavern and ran down the street towards the library. He ran as fast as an arrow and soon arrived at the library.

There were 3 men standing in front of the door. - Who are you? What do you want here?
- I have business here, let me in. - Smyern handed a gold coin to each of the men and walked his way into the library. The men were all suprised, and did not prevent Smyern from entering.

The library was a long and tall building, being very beautiful. It was, in fact, more than a library, it was also a church dedicated to Frarmann, one of the hunderds of dieties created by humans.

Smyern walked through the temple, avoiding to step over the rumble and destroyed images. A sad scene it was, even for those who not in ten thousand ages would recognize the existance of Frarmann.

After going through the temple, Smyern made himself through a small door that led to an empty hall and from there he walked to the stairways in front of him, ignoring the doors that led to rooms.

After going up the stairs, Smyern found himself inside the library. It was completely messed. The shelters were all on the ground and the books were torn apart it was a mess and it would not be easy to find anything safe in one piece...

Rondel saw Smyern leave the tavern as though the flames of Udun were behind him. He followed him swiftly thinking to himself how fool-hardy Smyern was to leave without assistance in a newly raided city. He saw him enter an enormous building and an uneasy feeling stole over him. There was danger here. Filled with apprehension, he ran to catch up with him.

Behind Rondel, Rolban, after having spoken hastily with Celebcristion, followed wondering at his friends' sudden departure...

*finishes his drink, walks outside, finds Pooftop, puts him in a stable behind the bar, then takes his time getting over to the library* "Ack! Why's that elf moving so fast all of a sudden? It's not like anybody's still here to take what we're looking for! Hmmm...I wonder what kinds of things humans write books about."

*gives up on getting an answer from the elves and walks into the bar, but sees that everybody's already leaving* "What happened? Did they try to poison somebody in there or something?"

Smyern tip-toed in absolute silence through the library, carefully watching where he was stepping. All windows were closed and it was dark, the air was heavy and still, as if the library had been closed for ages.

Smyern walked in the direction of one of the windows and opened it, letting the day light and fresh air enter the room. He saw his companions comming and thought to himself: "I hope they don't mess things here even more, especially that clumsy fool called Tolir and the one called Cirgan."

After walking a bit more and examining the floor, Smyern saw a black dart on the floor. The dart was small with a very sharp edge and a black feather on it. Smyern picked it up with his hand and took it close to his eyes, he recognized the dart. It was a poisoned dart from the Andi Goblins, the gooblins from the Andi Mountains. Smyern put in a pocket of his clothes and continued searching the ground.

He then saw a small book, that seemed to still be in one piece. Smyern took the book in his hand and read the title that was in its cover. Sadly, may of the book's pages fell apart ad Smyern took it in his hands. Smyern read the pages that were still together, it was book of poetry. Human poetry. Smyern did not like it, but he praised their effort in trying to make art.

CELEBCRISTION

Rolban, I think you should follow Smyern and Rondel inside that nearly dilapidated structure. We should not be on our own during this time. The raiders may return and three is a better fight than two. Rolban, quickly followed and the prince went inside the tavern to talk to Dalfir and the others.

Dalfir, I think we should start our search as soon as possible, for one thing, these people are quite suspicious of us and may start to hinder us on our purpose. We should not linger in one place too long. The others, however objected to the sugestion since they were worn out and quite hungry. We should at least try to finish half the searching before sundown and find shelter for ourselves before...

Suddenly the tavern went deadly quiet and the people inside rushed out, the bartender disappeared in a room behind the cellar. There was a noise faint as a distant river steady yet getting stronger. Dalfir stood wide eyed and went straight to the window. Everyone held their breath, until the noise got louder and louder and louder, until they could hear it clearer than ever, it was the shouting of...

GOBLINS!!! GOBLINS!!! ARM YOURSELVES!!!

And the prince and Dalfir drew their swords, Boffin got out both his weapons and stood on the table, while Tolir and Cirgan got out their bows and fitted arrows in them. Meanwhile, inside the library, Smyern, Rondel, and Rolban were searching the torn books and papers when they heard the loud cries of goblins approaching. All three of them went to the window, and just as they approached the broken window facing the tavern, an arrow shot inside and almost hit Smyern had he not shifted to the right. It had a flame in it's tip and the whole library quickly caught fire.

The townspeople who have decided to fight this time, quickly got out of their hiding places and there was chaos - utter, and complete chaos!

Dalfir drew his sword fighting off three goblins at once. The chaos was tremendous. Dalfir was thankful the townspeople were actually defending themselves so well. He noticed that the bartender was a very skilled swordsman. Dalfir was worried about his friends at the library. Hopefully the goblins would think that no one was there, andthey would not go near it.
Cirgan fought at Tolir's side. After the goblins were too close and he had run out of arrows, Cirgan grabbed the sword of a dead goblin. He didn't want to use it but better than nothing he said to himself.

*The fighting goes on!*

The flamming arrow missed Smyern's head by some few inches and set fire upon the library, in the matter of split seconds, thre more flamming arrows came through the window Smyern quickly put the book away in his pocket and grabbed his sword. - Rondel, Rolban, come, we must fight those cursed Goglins! - Shouted Smyern as they ran down the stairs back to the corridor.

Then, comming back to the temple downstairs, Smyern saw that the three men that were guarding the library were already dead and some Goblins were entering the church's temple with swords and small axes in their hands.

One Goblin jumped in Smyern's direction, Smyern made a move to his right and striked a mighty blow upon the Goblin's left leg with Amnetiz, releasing the Goblin's leg from the body. As the Goblin fell to the ground, Smyern pierced its head with Amnetiz, releasing the Goblin from its tormented existance, as Rondel and Rolban were shooting arrows and fighting other Goblins that were entering the temple.

Smyern, Rondel and Rolban were fighting hard, showing no mercy to their enemies, but they could not find a way to exit the burning church, which was all in flames. For every Goblin that was slain, two more appeared, and fight would go on between flames, ashes and fire.

Suddenly, a thought came to Smyern's head: "Boffin, where is Boffin?" Smyern was afraid that Boffin was in danger, for he had left him in the tavern.

The roof of the temple colapsed, falling over four Goblins and destroying on of the walls of the temple. Smyern, Rondel and Rolban escaped the church in that moment, only to see the entire city fighting the Goblins.
