Please join this post. As soon as we have all of the characters or most of them at least we can start. If not many people are willing to join you might have to play two parts. Please Join!

Ok, I'll join cause I know how hard it is to cast people from this community. Imagine the Helms Deep thread, hasn't started yet cause there are plenty of casts needed, and only a little have responded. So yes I will help you, I love RPG's and probably by next week my posts won't be as frequent anymore, so I am making use of every minute I get.
I want to play the part of Jamien. Here are my characteristics.
Jamien (Elf / warrior / sage)
age: 1000 yrs. old
Physical Attributes: Dark hair, green eyes, pale skin, 5'8", medium built, always wore a green suit with grey hood and cloak.
Weapons: small dagger, Bow & Arrow
Traits: Brave, agile, softspoken

I'm not joining, but I do want to ask a simple question: If I were to joind, couldn't I just be Arcanjo (my/his profile is at http://www.thetolkienforum.com/showthread.php?s=&postid=100654#post100654 )?
PS: I'm not 100% sure how these RPs work, so I apologize if this post doesn't belong here.

you could, but this is a casted rpg. you take on the roll of one of the cast. in other uncasted rpgs you could just use your character.
I think thats right, im not sure...

05-08-2002, 05:56 AM
This going really well. I guess we probably won't have to have people playing two parts.
Here are the roles that are left:
Trogas (a hobbit)
Cirolas (a hobbit)
Jaquel (an elf)
Althorn (a man)
Tolirin (a man)
Boffin (a dwarf)
Thanks to Narya and Aredhel.
Goldberry344 I don't really want to make Erolas a girl. Since that would be the only girl on the quest and that would be kinda weird. Sorry!
Arcanjo I guess you can be you. I just took out Velcaz. You can be in his place.
Here are my charcteristics:
Name: Dalfir (the Young) aka the Wise
Age: 950 (Now you know why they call him the Young)
Looks: Tall about 5' 8" with slightly grey hair and beard.
Weapons: my staff and a sword called Orwin, which glows orange when trolls are near.

What are we doing then? Has it started?
Ice Man
05-08-2002, 06:00 AM
Ths is me
Name: Arcanjo
Creature: Elf
Age: more than 1000
Gender: Male
Place Born: Mirkwood
Looks: Black long hair, black deep cold eyes, 1,80m, 70kg, slim but stronger than one may guess.
Weapons: Sword, Quarterstaff, Knife
Magic Yes/No: Yes, but only healing magic/abilities
History: He was born and raised in Mirkwood, having never left the roundabouts (sp?). He fought the Battle of the 5 Armies, met Bilbo and Gandalf, and went with them to Rivendell. There he lived until the end of the War of the Ring, having also fought in the war. After the war was over, he decided only sail back to the west once he had seen all of that was to be seen in Middle Earth. From there on, he simply travelled and wandered though Middle Earth, never setting feet in a place for more than a few weeks, and always atempting to get to know more places. Rarely does he return to Mirkwood, doing so only to tell his stories and adventures to his family and close friends who still haven't left Middle Earth.
Personality: Not what can be referd to as an open person, but always willing to learn and get to see new places. Likes to listen and observe more than he likes to talk and is very suspicious of men and dwarves, thinking that they do not take notice of the world's true beauty and wonder. He has an excellent memory (remarkable even by Elvish standards) and, everytime he returns to Mirkwood, he writes down all of the most memorable things that he has seen and that have happened. After many many years of wandering, travelling and adventuring, the thought of leaving Middle Earth begins to bother him every once in a while. He has not made a visit to The Lonely Mountain after the Battle of the 5 armies, being that what he will probably do before leaving Middle Earth.
Clothing/Armor: Black Cloak, dark green cape, leather boots. Always takes his sword, named Amnetiz, and his quarterstaff, named Anerantis, with him.

OK we can start. I just need somone to be one of these people. I guess some of us will have to play two parts. I sort of cut back on the roles. Here is what is left.
Trogas (a hobbit)

Goldberry344
05-10-2002, 03:19 AM
Erolas pats his horse. "I am ready. I have been this way once before, long ago, but i have no memory of the paths now. As i walk them, they may become more familiar, however, i hope another knows the way better than I."
OOC- i think we need to get an acctuall RP, like RPG 55- The Quest. but you need to talk to Cyr about that...

*Jamiel rides up on his beige horse named Cimaron*
I can lead you, I know the passage towards those mountains but the way is not longer safe we must hurry, if we reach the black hills by night, dark creatures may awaken and hinder us, or...*looks at his bow and arrow* fight us at the least.
Plus I worry about the forest at the foot of the mountain, I heard there is some evil that has taken root in those parts. I could be wrong.

05-10-2002, 04:29 PM
He sits underneath a tree, sharpening his axe when he looks up and sees the group.

***Everyone in the group was set and the thunder clouds were slowly starting to show themselves in the distant skies, no time was there to be wasted. All were aware of such, and only a few more minutes had been left behind by the time the group headed towards the Andi Moutain. It would be a long journey, fill of surprises, and of uncertain faith.***
Arcanjo was riding Clifftail, his beloved horse, in the back of the group. From time to time he would look back over his shoulders just to see how fast the clouds were approaching them. If one would have actually had had the will to ask him what was on his mind, he would have said: The clouds are comming faster than I want them too. However, they shall be the least of our trouble. We shall mostly concern oursleves with that which is in front of us.
And they continued their journey...

out of conversation: I'm going to sleep now, I'll come back tommorow to try to spice ths RP a bit, I really want to see how far we can go with it. For whoever will stay here, please, make us have some good fights!

As all of them have safely secured themselves in the cave, Arcanjo looks at Boffin, who is attempting to start a fire, and says: I have some fruits with me, do you want them? They don't need to be cooked and are healthy as can be. Arcanjo tosses an bright red apple in the direction of Boffin, and then walks through the cave, searching for something which he is still uncertain about. Whatever it is, it doesn't smell good.
The rain pours down outside the cave and thunders begine to roar the sky.
YayGollum

Ice Man
05-11-2002, 09:35 PM
Leave the fire for someone else and come with me Boffin, you want meat and I wish to explore this cave in which we shall rest for the night that comes forth. Arcanjo looks at Boffin and gives a small, but visible smile. - I shall show you that caves are not only the domains of Dwarves, us Elves are capable of more than you imagine.
Arcanjo and Boffin (if you chose to come with me) start to walk into the cave. Many times do they turn right and left and right and left, despite all these turns, it's clear that they are going down, deep into the ground.
Boffin, do you feel the air getting strange?
Goldberry344
05-12-2002, 02:34 AM
Erolas walks over to his horse and digs in the saddle packs. he produces some salted rabbit meat "too bad i rembered this after boffin and arcanjo left. ill save this for later, we shold have some fresh meat soon."
Gandalf_White
05-12-2002, 07:28 AM
*Dalfir after returning to the cave after a look around outside asks.* Why, where are Boffin and Arcanjo? I think we should start a fire. It is going to be a cold damp night. The sky doesn't look too good. The storm might be bigger than expected. Birgin, come here I always heard that you were pretty good at starting fires. How about doing one for us?
Ice Man
05-12-2002, 07:45 AM
Arcanjo and Boffin return to the other fellows after having left for some minutes. Hey folks, who's starting the fire? Boffin and I went for a little walk futher into the cave. We didn't find anything to eat or hunt. Arcanjo changes his tone to a more sober and serious one, while a grim appears in his face. As a matter of fact, we found nothing, but I know SOMETHING was there. Something that made the air feel strange. So I have decided to take guard this night, whatever it is that made the air feel strange, shall it not surpirise me.

Indeed Dalfir, 'tis best if we take turns. I shall sleep now, and awake for the second turn. Arcanjo walks to his horse, Clifftail, and gently wispers some words into his ears. Clifftail walks towards a grassy spot in the cave and begins to eat some grass.
After eating some fruits and driking some water, Arcanjo lies down, closes his eyes and pretends to be alseep.
Goldberry344
05-13-2002, 01:50 AM
Erolas sets out his bedroll and lies down. He doesnt bother to pretend to be asleep, he props his head on his hands and watches the dark side of the fire. he is sure there is something out there, something that cannot be good news, or friendly. Suddenly, there is a shadow on the horizon, silhouetted by moonlight. Erolas squints, and sees several other figures following this one. they seem large, taller than an elf, and Erolas jumps up with a cry. "there are foes near, look!"

OOC - how many trolls are there?
OOC - is there room for Dalfir to cast a spell and not harm whoever is combating the Trolls?
Narya
05-13-2002, 06:36 AM
*ooc trolls travel by large groups like orcs especially in mountanous regions. It's hard to tell how many there were, by according to the "shadows seen" by Erolas, they were quite many, it takes more than one arrow to kill trolls, and the only spell you can cast so far during this fight would be stunning the enemy*
Jamiel
*jumping on one of the trolls* There are too many of them. We must escape into the heart of the mountain!!! Lighting the fire was a bad idea!
Gandalf_White
05-13-2002, 06:47 AM
Suddenly there is a yell from Dalfir. He jumps out from the shadows in between the trolls and his companions. There is a blast of lightning from Dalfir's staff. The trolls are struck dead. But the victory is not won without an injury. Dalfir is struck by one of the elves arrows. He falls to the ground, wounded.
Narya
05-13-2002, 06:57 AM

Having Dalfir unleashed some of his magic, some Trolls fell dead, others escaped, and a few were still there to fight.
After dealing with one of the Trolls, Arcanjo yells in elvish: Run Clifftail, run! And then yells in the common tounge: We have no option, they are too many and will certainly regroup. We must run deep into the mountain. Follow me, Boffin and I have already wandered into some recesses of this cave!
Follow me!
Arcanjo leads them into the the heart of the cave...

Erolas hesitates, "if we go into the cave, we will be cornered at some time!"
ooc- magic is all fine and dandy, but lets keep it to a gandalf level max. if every enemy we face is killed immediately by magic, the rp gets kinda boreing. Even gandlaf didnt use his magic to kill whole armies.

If we are to not go deep into the cave, then we must burst out of it, now! Lets us attack them with all our might before they regroup and return in bigger numbers!
Arcanjo then starts to yell in a very unkown elvish tongue. Amnetiz, his sword, shines in a fierce green light, and once again Arcanjo charges into the few Trolls who haven't left the cave. Amnetiz burns and cuts, the Trolls bleed and frighten. Within moments, and with the help of all members of the group, the Trolls' dark and putrid blood staines the ground and no trolls are left alive in the cave.
Arcanjo asks to all, as soon as the beaten Trolls stop screaming: Where to now? The remaining Trolls are to return, and we do not know where this cave shall lead us to. Dalfir, this quest is yours, were shall we head now? Into the cave or back to the road?
OOC - Where are we geographically located in ME? Where exactly are we heading to? It would help to know.
Gandalf_White
05-13-2002, 11:31 PM
OOC: forget I ever killed the trolls or was wounded. I guess I got a little carried away. Just say I helped fight off the trolls. I am not sure where we are in ME any one have any ideas.
I don't think we shall go into the cave any further. There may not be an exit on the other side. Besides it is most likely that there are more trolls inhabiting this cave. I suggest we pack up quickly and get back to the Road.
Dalfir begins to load things onto Snowfoot.

Arcanjo runs to the entrance of the cave and loudly whistles with two fingers in his mouth, few moments later, Clifftail returns (soaked in rain). Arcanjo quickly gathers his stuff and looks over the dead Trolls. Besides the Troll that seemed to be the leader of the band, lies an ill shaped knife. Arcanjo grabs the knife, takes a look at it and recons there are some Orcish markings on it.
Arcanjo raises the knife in the air and yells: Look at what I have found, a baragian knife! These Trolls do not come from here they come from the Andi Mountain! Lets haste, for now we know that Trolls, Orcs, and even worse beings may dwell ther in the Andi Moutain! Haste my friends, haste, we have much to travel and no time to lose! Arcanjo jumps on Clifftail and then leaves the cave, with the party comming behind him.
OOC - Since we have not determined where we are geographically located, I suggest we are in the Blue Mountains (which is in the upper NW portion of ME) and that the Andi Mountain is located in the Grey Mountains (just above Mirkwood). The ME's map shows no city, town or forrest in between these montains, but I think we should fell free to create some, so we can have a better RP. DO YOU GUYS AGREE???
Goldberry344
05-14-2002, 02:43 AM

Erolas yells and tries to run, but doesnt make it out of the cave, he is thrown down under a rock, and his bow is hurled out of his hand, an arrow nearly hitting arcajo. Erolas lets out a cry of pain and gropes for his sword as more rocks fall from the cave.
Ice Man
05-14-2002, 04:18 AM
OOC - I don't know what pinned to the ground means, are you unconcious or awake and fighting?
Arcanjo sees the flying arrow and looks back to notice that Erolas and Jamiel are being attacked, he jumps off Clifftail and dashes into the cave, being nearly hit by falling rocks. He does find his way into the cave, but at the cost of his gear, which remained outside, together with Clifftail.
Jamiel, Erolas, I am comming! Arcanjo runs desperately into their direction, with Amnetiz in one hand, and the baragian knife in another. Arcanjo reaches the wounded Troll, and, without thinking twice, jumps over its back and stabs it in the head, in throught the Trolls right ear, with the baragian knife. The Troll moans for a second and falls dead over its back, landing over Arcanjo, who then hits his head on the floor.
A minute or two pass before Arcanjo to recovers and finds strength to free himself from the dead corpse, Arcanjo's head bleeds, leaving him dizzy and weak. Only then does he notice that the cave is black as can be, darkness engulfs them all, for the falling rocks have sealed the cave's entrance, and light no longer comes in, but Amnetiz still glows green, danger has not passed.
Arcanjo stands and calls for Jamiel and Erolas. Jamiel, Erolas, where are you? Is anyone else in here? And he waits for an answer...

*Jamiel Tries to free himself from the immensely large rock that had pinned him to the base of the cave. He could hear Erolas shouting at the other side, but faint and pained was the voice. He didn't shout trying to save his energy for pushing the rock that had cruelly covered almost half of his body, he could feel blood trickling down his forehead. The Troll kept on battering the sides of the cave. Finally with one hard and long push he was able to get his right arm free, and through the light of the moon he could see Arcanjo fighting off the menacing creature. Feeling desperate he screams "Arcanjo!! Tulinte ì Arcanjo!! (Arcanjo!! Come Arcanjo) Help me please I think my leg is broken!!! Erolas!! He is in danger!!

Jaquel was able to get out of the cave since he was near the entrance. He hid in some bushes outside. The trolls after crashing most of the cave walls in walk off laughing hideously at their killing of the group (as they think all inside the cave are dead) They begin making their way toward the Andi mountain. After the trolls are far enough away Jaquel comes out from his hiding place. He starts to yell for his friends Dalfir! Arcanjo! Jamiel! Where are you? Can you hear me? Jaquel is greatly distressed for he thinks his friends are most likely dead. But he realizes he musn't give up. He starts to dig through the rubble though it is a hard task. After about ten minutes and no success Jaquel sits down and begins to cry. Suddenly he hears a faint yell below him. A muffled "HELP" is heard. Jaquel digs frantically. and calls out I'm coming! After about five more minutes he hears the cry closer. It is Arcanjo's. I'm coming! he yells again. After ten more minutes of digging he helps Arcanjo out.

Arcanjo gathers all his strength and stands upwards, with his legs and arms hurt from the fallen stones, and his head bleeding. He then recons Jaquel ands desperately says: Jaquel! Where are Erolas, Jamiel. I think they are hurt, we must find them first! I remember Jamiel's voice comming from there, and Erolas' voice comming from somewhere around here. We must find them! Search for Erolas, and I'll search for Jamiel.
Arcanjo then departs from Jaquel and take Anerantiz, his quarterstaff, in his hands. Arcanjo then holds Anerantiz with hs both hands and pronounces some elvish words. Anerantiz starts to shine in a vivid white light, as white and bright as the purest full moon. There no longer is darkness.
With Anerantiz shinning, Arcanjo quickly finds Jamiel being held to the ground by the rocks. Arcanjo doesn't need to ask if Jamiel is in pain. Don't worry, I am here to help you. Jamiel moans in return. Arcanjo, with the help of one of the Dwarves that was around and with all of the strength that was left inside, removes the stone from above Jamiel. Then tells to the Dwarf: Erolas, go help Jaquel rescue Erolas, I shall take care of Jamiel. The Dwarf goes, leaving Arcanjo with Jamiel.
Jamiel, my friend, your leg is broken. I must use the teachings of my father, Talcyron, to heal you, but I don't know how much it is that I can do for you. Arcanjo closes his eyes, lays his left hand over Jamiel's broken leg, his right hand over his own forhead, and starts to speak ancient Elven tongues. For minutes Arcanjo speaks such words, and his hands and face glows a white glow, and Arcanjo keeps speaking, until his simply passes out and faints. Jamiel's leg is still broken, but it no longer bleeds, and the wounds have diminished.
Arcanjo lays unconcious on the blood stained floor, more exausted than he ever thought he could be.

The unlooked-for Dwarf, who was close by the two elves, came pushing his way thorough rocks toward Arcanjo and Jamiel. "I am here!,"he cries out alod, walking in the direction of their voices. He stoops to pick up Arcanjo, and (rather roughly) slings him over his shoulder. He pushes his way back through the rocks towards the entrance. Then, in small, unsafe and slow steps, Arcanjo walks back into the cave, first to get the baragian knife back from the dead Troll's head, and then, if possible, to help aid Erolas.
When Arcanjo reaches the dead Troll, he gets his knife back, cleans it on the Troll's vestments, and stands once more to see if he can find Erolas.

The cave is still dark, Arcanjo speaks some Elvish words and once again Anerantis glows and spreads light in the cave. He then sees the results of their fight with the Trolls, blood, gore and broken bones. Arcanjo walks more into the cave and finally catchs up with Boffin, Birgin and Jaquel. Before they ask, Arcanjo answers: I am wounded and tired, but I will not rest until we find and rescue Erolas.
They continue to enter te cave until they find Erolas. He lies on the ground, unconcious, bleeding, bruised, and with a rock crushing him. Birgin, Jaquel and Boffin remove the stone from Erolas, Arcanjo only watchs, for he has no strenght to lift such stone. They then lift Erolas and carry him outside the cave. There Erolas is laid over the grass and Arcanjo tries to aid him with his magic, which little does besides closing the wounds and stop the bleeding.
I have no strenght left in me, I must rest, or fall unconcious. Help Erolas. Arcanjo falls to the wet ground and looks to the moon, it is no longer raining, stars shine in the skies, the moon shines with might, and Arcanjo faints.

Arcanjo stands up and whistles out loud, calling out for Clifftail, who, in the matter of two ot threee minutes, returns to his owner.

The party travels on the road for the rest of the night. Not much do they talk, for the Troll attack has also hurt their mood, all seem thoughtfull and upset. With Dalfir leading the party, they soon leave the hills and find their way towards Rentrain, the river which marks the end of the hills lands.
As soon as they meat the river, early in the morning, Dalfir stops and speaks to all: Rentrain is a big and busy river, it is born in the eternal snowfall of the Iron Mountains and cuts through the entire Kingdom of Rafflensher, only to later on meet the Silent Sea. As you can see, there are guards securing the bridge, they weren't always there, but they have been there ever since Orcs tried to cross the bridge and attack Trurion some few years ago. Now there are the guards and the guardtower on the other side. I expect them to not trouble us, shall they do so (Dalfir says with a very severe expression to his face), do not appeal to violence. I do not want to be known as a criminal in these lands, and I do not want more confusion.
Dalfir then turns around and continues to lead the party. Minutes later they reach the bridge. As they reach the bridge, the guard shouts: Whoever human wishes to cross the bridge must give me one gold coin. Elves are to give me two gold coins, dwarves are to give me three gold coins. Your other option is to go to the northern bridge, which is 20 miles from here.

The party starts to walk over the bridge, towards the guards on the other side. As they cross the bridge, they see seven heavily armed guards with mighty swords and spears and the watchtower, which has inside two more quards with bows and crossbows. One guard walks in their direction and says:
You are now in the lands of Trurion and you now must act as accoding to our laws. Aye, yeah, I now say that the deal has changed, but don't be afraid little men. My lads and I are kind and will settle down for 50 gold coins and your horses. What shall it be? The guard laughs out loud...

Silence fills the air and, unexcpectedly, Dalfir laughs and says: Nevermind folks, they won't need our help if the Trolls come buy. I am sure they have all they need to handle the Trolls. And, as peace officers of these lands, they have all the right to claim our gold to let us be free here. Here, take this, we don't need it, we laid our hands on it after we defeated the Trolls, but it is more than the share we want to have for ourselves. You may take it. Dalfir gets down from his horse and hands out a bag to the guard.
The guard opens it and suprises himself, he then says: O mighty, how much is in here? Karto, take a look at this. He shows the bag to one of the guards, who then smiles and says with a terribly annoying voice: Yeaahh, let 'em go. This here makes me wanna have 'em foolin'around Trurion. Oh yeaahh, what a good start for our day. Aye folks, don't forget to have a drink at the Big Belly in, my brother owns it, it has the best rabbit meat in 6 days of walking.
And with that, the party is dismissed and they follow on towards Trurion. Half an hour later, as soon as Dalfir is sure they can no longer be seen or heard, he asks: My friends, wish you know what was in that bag I handed to those fine gentlemen?

There was gold in that bag, but it was fool's gold. I already knew that we would be harrased in these lands, for they are under the domains of Iyen the Tall, who has never made a secret of his greed. So I, during our trip, filled the bag with rocks and created an illusion to make them resemble gold. Arcanjo then turns to Boffin. Boffin, I am quite aware of how much you want some rabbit, but don't forget that the guard named Karto has been fooled by our rockish gold, and that he has a brother in Trurion. So he will likely come after us once he sees what his gold is made of. And it will not be a good idea for us to be showing our faces in any of the taverns, especially the Big Belly tavern.

The party moves on through the road, a little bit slower than they had intended to, but still in a reasonable pace. Nothing changes in the road, and they eventually pass by some abandoned houses and properties, as if the owner left and never cared to return. They also pass ahead of what used to be a big farm, but now it is totally abandoned, grass has grown everywhere and it is not possible to determine what used to be harvested at the farm.
Strange - says Arcanjo - We are less than two hours away form Trurion, but everything seems so quite, so still. I thought these lands would have people wondering here and there to take care of their afairs, especially considering how big Trurion is. Things surely have changed since the last time I was here, which must have been some fifty or sixty years ago. I don't know who Iyen the tall is, but he seems to not be a good influence to these lands.

It is strange indeed, and it does not comfort me. The party moves on and they first set eyes on Trurion some four and a half hours after their encounter with the bridge guards.
Trurion is a big mercant city, people there do business with the entire Kingdom of Rafflensher and it is easy to see people from other cities doing business there. It is also the second most important city in the entire Kingdom, only comming shy to the city of Rafftermore, where the royal family lives. Even being big as it is, Elves are rarely see in Trurion, the Elves avoind going there because they do now want business with the people there and they do not feel comfortable in cities that are so big. The Elves that live the nearest to Trurion live in the White Forest, which is located some fifty or sixty miles to the northwest from Trurion. Elves are rare, Dwarves are not so rare, for they ususally come down form the Stillfin Caves to do business in the city, but the Stillfin Caves are not as close to Trurion as the White Forest is, the Stillin Caves are some one hundered miles north from Trurion. Te entire city of Trurion is surrounded by ten feet tal walls. These walls didn't always exist, but they were placed after the Dark Years had passed, which was the time the Orcs would frequently come down from the Stillfin Mountains and try to assault Trurion. The Dark Years were long over, but the walls were stil there and they were there to stay. There were two main entrances to Trurion, one was the South Entrance, which is where the party was heading to, and the other is the Northern Entrance. These entrances remain open all day long, but they are closed and guarded by men once the night falls.
So my friends - said Arcanjo - where shall we meet Jamiel?

Dalfir looks a bit discouraged.
Why didn't we talk to Jamiel about a meeting place in Trurion? Maybe we will go to the Meadow Creek Inn. I met Jamiel there once many years ago. If my thinking is right perhaps he will think to go there.
OOC: Where did Jamiel go anyways. I didn't quite catch that.

As the party enters Trurion, they see that four guards are securing the city's entrance. None of the guards has a friendly face, but nothing do they do with the party.
It is noon, and not many people are wandering on the streets. Odd this is - says Arcanjo - I was expecting there to be much more people on the streets. This is not the Trurion I've once been at and many times listned about.
They continue through the city, trying to find the Meadow Creek Inn. As they wander through the streets, they notice that people are all scared, night is far from falling, but the people are already closing themselves inside their houses, and friendly faces are not to be seen. And then they finally arrive at the Inn.
They leave their horses in the stables and walk inside the Inn. The Meadow Creek Inn is a big inn, and it is very comfortable. Not many people are in there, and one could easily spot the waitresses not having work to do. The party sits in a big table in the left corner of the inn and awaits a waitress that later arrives and askes what shall the party have?
Arcanjo answers: Beer and rabbit meat for the Dwarves, plus whine and fruits to the rest of us. Before you go, tell Mr. Hildrin that we are here and we wish to see him.

A slightly bent old man approaches the group. He has white hair and a white beard. His face is very careworn as if he has lived a rough life. Hello sirs, I was told by my waitress, Lily, that you wished to see me. What is it that you need?

Mr Hildrin, there are two main reasons to why I asked for your presence here. - Said Arcanjo, in a perfectly polite and convincing manner - First, we and my friends are travelling through these lands and we have decided to stay a night or two here in Trurion, and it was recommended that we stay here at your inn. So, I would ask you to take care of our horses and rides in the best manner possible, and I also ask that you give us your two best rooms.
Mr Hildrin easily answered that: But of course my fine Elf, rarely do I see such a interesting party as yours here, and I shall serve you with the best of what we have.
Excellent - replied Arcanjo - I also have a question. Why is Trurion so quiet? Things here are not as I expected it to be, considering that this is big an importantt city in this Kingdom. What may you tell us about this Mr. Hildrin?
Mr Hildrin carefully approached Arcanjo, and then gently wispered into his ear: It has to do with Trolls and Orcs, but I am not allowed to say anymore. Mr. Hildrin removed himself from the table, giving some orders to a waitress and then entering his kitchiien...

Erolas leans over to Arcanjo and whispers, "i hate to be rubbing my nose where it doesnt belong, but we don't have an endless purse for this trip. where do you think we'll get enough money to pay for these rooms, and lodging later on? two of the best rooms?? what about when we are tired, hungry and having to sleep on the streets because we spent all our money at the beginning of the trip? we arent making money by killing orcs and trolls, no matter how much we help others by doing it."

Don't worry Erolas - Arcanjo wispers in return - I know a man who collects weapons in this city, and I'm sure he'll give me a healthy sum for the baragian knife I took from the Trolls. He shall at least give me enough for us to be some days here, and we do deserve some good rest, especialy after our enconter with those Trolls. As a matter of fact, I'm going now, I might as well take a look in the roundabouts and search for Jamiel. I'll be back later. Arcanjo stands up and leaves, having hardly eaten or drinken anything.

I need to find out more of what these strange happenings are all about. First, I will try to see if I can get more information out of Mr. Hildrin. He will trust me. Just make sure, Erolas that none of you here get separated. We are already becoming scattered. I shall be back in probably about 3 hours. Dalfir tosses a sack of gold to Erolas. Here buy the dwarves as much food and beer as they need. I would reccommend that you all get a bit of rest. See you later. With a tip of his hat Dalfir was gone.

*Jamiel and Cimaron have reached the Northern gate of Trurion. Their entire fellowship are now inside the Meadow Creek Inn.*
I dislike this silence, Cimaron. There's evil afoot here and beyond those hills. This used to be a bustling City and now I don't even see a single dwarf. They used to frequent this City's market with their goods. *Cimaron neighed softly as if saying that there is an ill-feeling that surrounds them both*
*Jamiel approached an old man in rags sitting on a stool outside one of the clay houses in the outskirts of the City near it's proud walls*
excuse me, kind sir, but have the Dwarves of the Stillfin Caves been here this year? *the old man raised his head and looks at the Elf intently, then grabs Jamiel tightly by the hand, too tight for an elderly man it seems, and said The Shadow Ships have landed! then with it's thick walking stick he hits Jamiel's broken leg. Jamiel falls on the ground holding his leg and cried out in pain, but the old man throws him a torn piece of parchment and runs out the gates at incredible speed.
I must get to the others. Arcanjo had better recover his strength, this leg is making me weak for an elf. he grabs the paper and mounts Cimaron and slowly they rode towards the Inn. Then he meets Arcanjo.
Has you strength returned?? My leg has been hit again by a mysterious old man who seems to be stronger than he looks.

Only a few moments after leaving the Meadow Creek Inn, Arcanjo meets with Jamiel. So there you are my friend. What have you seen? What has happened to you? Jamiel answers back to Arcanjo, telling him about some small happenings and also about his encounter with the Old Man in Rags.
The Silent Ships have landed? What in Elrond's blessed name shall that mean? - Says Arcanjo during the conversation.
Arcanjo then tells Jamiel about the things that had happened to them, including that they are going to sleep in the Meadow Creek Inn, and including the rumor concerning Trolls and Orcs. I can't imagine what conection there is between the Trolls and Orcs and these so called Silent Ships, but I excpect them to be of ill deeds.
After they have finished getting each other updated, Arcanjo and Jamiel go to the shop of this weapon collecter. There they sell the baragian knife for half of what Arcanjo originally intended, but just enough for them to spend two nights at the Inn, and they also do some chit chat with the shop owner, a retired mercenary of old old age called Scimen. Scimen doesn't say much about the Trolls and Orcs, and has no idea of what the Silent Ships are, but he does tell them a thing or two, even though his voice is weak and rusted, being extremly irritating. We don't know much, but there are some words around. Some words, you know? Poeple are saying that Trolls and Orcs have been giving trouble to the guards in the surroundings. That they have come from the Stillfin Caves.
Stillfin Caves? - Asks Arcanjo - Aren't the Dwarves the Lords of the Stillfin Caves?
Yes and no. - Answers Scimen - The Dwarves are the Lords there, but it has been some months since any Dwarfe from there came here. Not a single word has been heard about those Dwarves in some two months, and even more time has passed since any Elf from the White Forest has come here too. Rumors are rumors, but it is said that both the Dwarves and the Elves are being troubled by some Orcs and Trolls. I don't know. But business sure has been too slow around town. Something is happening.
Arcanjo and Jamiel return to the Inn, and then they go up to their room, where they rest and Arcanjo tries to take care of Jamiel's broken leg.

My leg feels much better, Arcanjo my friend. Thank you.
Here maybe we should look at this thing the old man gave me after he struck me in my broken leg. It seems to be a map of some sort, also, we should look into the matter of the Shadow Ships that he said. That troubles me a lot. Somehow the arrival of those ships are connected with the reapearance of Trolls and Orcs, and possibly Goblins in the mountains.
We will not find it easy to get to the Andi Mountains that is for sure, here look at this map. (shows them the map) Isn't it odd that the passage in the Northern gates have these symbols?? I can't read them. I didn't even see them on the Northern gates today, I've been there, and these symbols weren't there. Can you read them Erolas?

OOC - The RP started with a some roles that still weren't filled. So far, only Narya, GoldBerry344, Gandalf_White, YayGollum, Aradhel and I have posted in here, so we are six people and 7 acitve characters, 1 wizard, 2 dwarves and 4 Elves. May I suggest that we also take care of some secondary roles, such as the hobbits, dwarves and humans that were originally intended to be in this adventure?
IC - I have no idea of what these Symbols mean, but they are surely not Elvish, that I know for sure. - Arcanjo takes a pause in his speech and, with a grim expression to his face, asks: Who here would like join me towards a visit to the Northern Gate this night? We may listen to something important the guards have to say, and we may even see something important...

Dalfir enters the room where the group is gathered.
I have found out little considering all there is to find answers to. I talked with Mr. Hildrin. He does not say much. Just that he knew there were orcs and trolls around the vicinity of the Andi mountain and the Stillfin Caves. I forgive Hildrin for being so held back about details. Lily his waitress told me that his son was out on a hunting expedition with some friends near the Stillfin Caves. Hildrin's son was killed by an orc there. Lily says ever since then he has spoke very little. Dalfir pauses. Now don't get excited. Let me do the talking and DON'T interrup. I have been to the Andi mountain and the Stillfin Caves. Don't ask me how. I am a wizard. And we have our ways. There is an army of Trolls and Orcs in both places. I believe they have killed all of the Dwarves there. From the bits of conversation I could catch, it seems that they are planning to attack Trurion. I hate to delay our journey to Chesolien, but I can't leave this city in danger. I guess we are caught up in a different quest now. We need to come up with a proper plan.

Oh Dalfir, oh Dalfir, what terrible news these are, we are trapped in Trurion as animals trapped in cages. If we leave this city and head towards the Andi, we shall encounter hords of Trolls, Orcs and Goblins on the road, and it is very unlikely that we are capapable of defeating hundreds of them. If we stay here for long, the Ors, Trolls and Goblins shall meet us here, and we will still be facing armies of them.
Arcanjo walks to the window of their room and looks deep in the disntace, as if trying to see what was happening outside the walls of Trurion. The moon was hidden by the clouds, it was a very dark night, proper for ambushes and for other coward actions to take place. Arcanjo then turns to Althorn (a secondary role I'm adopting) and asks: What is on your mind Althorn?
Althorn answers: I wonder how pewrful the guards of this city are. And I am afraid that they are not able to hold the enemy hords on the outside of the walls, which will mean the death of many town people, at the least. Dalfir wants us to think of a plan, and I can only think of one, which is us leaving Trurion now and setting feet towards the Andi. Why must we delay ourselves and run the risk of being killed defending a city that is not ours?

In the meantime, Althorn talks with Dalfir: Dalfir, honor is not what we are searching on this quest. We are on a quest to retreive an Elvish treausre that has long been lost. If we leave right now, we might stand a chance of getting out of the Orc's and Troll's way. Althorn then stands right in front of Dalfir, eye to eye. Listen Dalfir, listen! Althorn rises his voice more than necessary, and just enough for people outside the room to listen to. Who will be at the Stillfin caves while the Orcs and Trolls are here? Nobody! It will be a perfect chance for us to sneek in and get our treasure! Think about it! Time is running short! Dalfir looks confused. I just don't understand. I noticed not seeing the animals too. None of this makes much sense. I though that the trolls and orcs would probably attack the city from the southern end. We had better be on guard. Keep your weapons ready. And stay close together.
The group rides off into the night.

Erolas is uncomforted by the lack of wildlife... You can tell almost anything about what's about to happen by the behavior of wild animals.

Althorn rides his horse, but cannot disguise his thoughts. Something is not right, and he can't be sure of what it is. They are here, somewhere arround, I can feel it. Have your weapons at hand.
The clouds are covering the moon, the night is imersed in a deep engulfing darkness. Everything seems motionless and dead.
Yes, I feel their presence, and so does Amnetiz, my sword. Arcanjo holds Amnetiz in his hand, Amnetiz glows as if in green flames. I cannot see them in this dark, but I will not be surprised if they are seing us.
They continue to wander into the dark.

*a rain of arrows pour down on the surprised group, Orcs from the Stillfan Mountains come in a great cry!*
Jamiel
It's an ambush!! Run back!! Back to the City!! We have no cover in the forest!! Noro lim, Cimaron, Noro lim!!!
Dalfir, to your right...WARGS!!!
*Jamiel fires his arrow at the left plank of orcs now surrounding the group, as they retreat back into the city. *
Birgin to your left!!
Go back!! Back inside!!! We will have enough cover inside than out here. Arcanjo, behind you!

The small group speeds off on their horses. The orcs and wargs follow close behind. As the group nears Trurion they see an army of trolls attacking the city.Dalfir says We must help with the fighting. If we die it is honorably that we die. Dalfir draws his sword Orwin. It glows a bright orange. Jaquel knock two arrows and fires at two wargs snapping at Andloth's (his horse's) heels. The group enters the city.
OOC: I was to have Dalfir find Orwin somewhere but he just has a sword all of a sudden. It glows orange when trolls are near. This is going to be a bloody battle so whoever posts next add some bloodshed.

*ooc yes GW, it shall be VERY BLOODY BATTLE INDEED!*
*ic - Jamiel now sees that the Northern gate of city is half-closed, and deep within sounds of destruction welcome the battlecry from behind them. The Trolls that fled after their attack in the southern caves near the borders of the Gwathren River have followed them into Trurion.*
[Jamiel] Where are the guards??*He lets fly an arrow one after the other always towards the Trolls that have now barred the entrance to the City, Behind he could see Arcanjo and Erolas fighting off the Orcs and Dalfir, Birgin, and Boffin fighting off the wargs that came behind. All my choices it seems have gone amiss. Faster Cimaron! Faster We must win back the gate!!! * and he lets fly arrows and they smote the air and right into the forehead of a rather large orc standing at the gates of Trurion.*
Birgin my friend will you be more comfortable fighting on your feet? I will let you down from the horse. Swing your ax as you've never done before.
*The Troll rushes towards Jamiel, but the elf jumped into the air and onto his back, Cimaron ran in the other direction and made it into the city. On the troll's back he shot an arrow right above it's nape, dark blood flowed out. Jamiel then takes his dagger and cuts through the troll's eyes, blinding him. The jumps down and fires a rain of arrows at the Orcs that have now entered the city gates.*
Dalfir! He shouts as he shot an arrow towards an orc that was sneaking behind the wizard.
The battle of Trurion has now begun!

Althorn is surprised by all the Orcs, Trolls and Wargs. He jumps down his horse, who received more than one deadly wound, having arrows flying always too close to his head and grabs his mighty axe, he then begins to fight back, blinded by his hatred towards those ill beings, and with nothing on his mind other than kill, kill and kill.
Somewhere, caught in the middle of all the madness, Arcanjo battles against his deadly enemies. He viciously swings Amnetiz, trying to kill the orcs with as few blows as possible. But he knows that they have the uperhand, for they massively outnumber Arcanjo and his friends.
A warg jumps over Arcanjo, who falls on his back, but the warg instantly falls dead, Althorn killed the warg with one mighty blow of his blood stained axe. There is no time to thank Althorn and, although he had been scratched by the warg, Arcanjo continues to fight, side by side with Althorn, as if his own father were there fighting by his side.
The Trolls and Orcs continue to come from the woods beside them, some of them charge towards Trurion, others charge towards Dalfir, Arcanjo, Althorn and the rest of the party. And Althron has an idea: Dalfir, Dalfir, use your magic to set the woods afire, let our dark enemies burn to death trapped in the woods. Do it Dalfir, do it! Set the woods afire!
The battle rages on...

Profile for the Tolir dude:
Name: Tolir (of course)
Race: stinky, nasty, boring human
Weapons: battle axe, dirk
Appearance: big and burly scary looking dude, bent over from working at forges with Dwarves, skin bright red from the heat that only Dwarves are used to
History: born in Trurion, apprenticed to those Dwarves that got killed, took his two best weapons to get revenge on the trolls (the ones we killed earlier) that killed his mentors and family, has never killed before, oh yeah, he has a horse named Anthrax
*Tolir runs up through the gate and starts swinging his huge battle axe inexpertedly (real word?) at trolls*

Birgin jumps down from his horse, at the same time swinging his huge double sided axe.
"KHAZAD!! KHAZAD AI-MENU!!,"(The Dwarves! The Dwarves are upon you!) He shouts above tumult of war.
With one swing he hewes the legs of a troll from underneath it, and goes on swinging and slaughtering, wrath that was long dormant released.

Tha appearence of Toril makes things a tad less impossible for Arcanjo and the rest of the party, as Toril quickly comes in scene and begins to take part in the hack and slash. Still, Arcanjo and the others are heavily outnumbered as they fight and are pressed to go backwards, in the direction of Trurion, which now is completely in flames.
The Nothern gate has been destroyed, the Orcs run into the city, the townsfolk all run for their lives, women, childern and elders are being killed and caos reigns in what once was a big and important city. The only resistance the orcs find are the city guards, who fight a fight they do not expect to win, but they fight it only to see if they can at least give the women and children time to run away from the city.
The battle proceeds, with Arcanjo and the party always being pushed and pushed closer to the Northen gate and into the city. The Orcs begin to run out of arrows, and they now chose to fight sword with sword, fist with fist, but, blinded by their evil madness, they show no attempt of organizing an attack against the party. The Orcs have no strategy whatsoever and frequently find themselves hitting one another. As much as Arcano hates the Orcs, he thanks them for being so empty-minded and non-organized.
And the battle rages on...

So caught up with the battle, that little did he realize that he was seperated from the others until he found himself hemmed in by Orcs.
By then his wrath had dimmed and he now fought with a clear head. He hoped the others were safe, and he continued to swing his axe in circles.
He freed one hand and grabbed the handle of his mace and swung it above his head, neatly beheading several orcs at the same time.
Just as he was going to do it again, an ugly hand grabbed it and ripped it from his hands. He falls backward, and a foot steps on his middle. He wondered if this was the end, and if his companions were safe. Then all blacked out.

Arcanjo saw Birgin fall to he ground and, as quick as a thought, he dashed through the middle of the Orcs and towards Birgin, who had been severely beaten. Althorn followed Arcanjo, for he knew that the two of them together were more than a match for many of the Orcs.
As Arcanjo arrived, one big, tall and ugly Orc grabed Birgin by his feet and threw him over his back. And so the Orc, with Birgin over his shoulder, made his way into the woods, and out of the site of Arcanjo and Althorn, who were too busy fighting and could not spare time to run after the evil Orc.
Althorn! - Yelled Arcanjo btetween his fighting with the Orcs - I shall run into the woods after Birgin, we cannot let him be captured!
What about the others? They musn't be left alone- Althorn had doubts in his heart.
Dalfir and Jaquel are with them, they are in less danger then we are, and nobody's in more danger than Birgin is. I shall go after Birgin, follow me! - Arcanjo did not wait for an answer, he striked hard with Amnetiz deep into an Orc's chest, releiving the Orc from it's tormented and evil existance, and ran into the woods after the Orc with Birgin. Althorn followed Arcanjo, not so close that time, but he was close enough to not let Arcanjo out of his site.
Arcanjo ran through the woods, not bothering to slay the Orcs that would eventually be seen and always trying to have Birgin one agin in his sight. Althorn to was running as quick as possible, for he had two urgent tasks, one was to keep up with Arcanjo, the other was to not allow himself to be captured by the dozen of Orcs that were folowing him.
They didn't run for too much time, but they did run at a speed that allowed them to cover a great distance. And they did not have time to think, only to react, as arrows were still flying in the air, much too close, always too dangerous. Minutes passed by and, suddenly, Arcanjo found Birgin, unconcious, laid down on the ground, much hurt. Where was the Orc tha had carried Birgin?
Silence. Silenced filled the air. What an uncommon thing, Arcanjo had, in the middle of the madness, forgotten what was the sound of silence, so peacefull was it to the ears. Only then did he listen to some of his thoughts, only then did he notice that he as alone. Arcanjo had ran so fast and for so long that he had left Althorn behind! Althorn was alone against the Orcs, he was in great danger! But Arcanjo could not leave Birgin alone and unconcious, neither could he abandone Althorn, who had saved his life! A greater conflict took place in Arcanjo's thoughts who would he save?!
The answer became obvious as soon as Arcanjo was surprised by seven Orcs jumping out of the night's darkness and into Arcanjo's sight. Arcanjo had to save himself if he wished to save either Birgin or Althorn.
And Arcanjo fought the Orcs, who were taller, stronger, faster than any Orc he had ever seen before. And he fought them with more anger and hatred than he had ever imagined to be possible, but the Orcs were prevailing. Arcanjo killed two of them, but the other six were only getting faster and stronger. Arcanjo fought them with all the skills he had, all of his anger, all of his will, but it was not enough. And, after having slained a thrid Orc, Arcanjo was hit. A mighty blow, comming from one of the Orc's clubs, hit Arcanjo and he fell down to the groung and let go of Amnetiz.
The Orcs laughed, for both Arcanjo and Birgin were on the ground. Arcanjo was still awake, but he had not to strength to stand up, much less to fight. The Orcs laughed and spitted over Arcanjo, and then one Orc said - I kill this one, and you kill small one. Orrr. The Master will be proud. Master said an Elf we kill gives us right to have more gold. Orrr. I kill him with his sword - The Orc took Amnetiz in his hands, spitted over it and said to Arcanjo - I do not know you, but I hate you, and I will kill you. (OOC - this line is worth an Oscar :D )
He never did kill Arcanjo. Althorn arrived at the scene and decapitated the Orc with his axe just a second before the Orc would have hitten Arcanjo, surprising Arcanjo and the other two Orcs.
Another fight took place, Althorn was fighting the three Orcs that were left. It was a feirce fight, Althorn was fighting as if he had nothing to lose, he was fighting as if he were ready to die, he was fighting as if death herself was his enemy. But he was not strong enough, the Orcs were all too strong and fast, and Althorn did not pevail. Althorn killed two Orcs, but the last one killed Althorn with its twisted Orchish blade.
Arcanjo saw it all, uncapable of reacting until he saw that Althorn was defeated. Despair took control of Arcanjo's mind, as he stodd up only to grab Amnetiz and cut off the leg of the surviving Orc. The Orc did not fall dead, and Arcanjo still had to strike at the Orcs head before assuring himself that it had been defeated.
Arcanjo then fell to his knees, witnessing the fallen bodies beside him. Althorn, who had saved him twice in one night, was dead, Birgin was unconcious, and they were alone in the woods.
Silence once again filed the air, despair and regret took control of Arcanjo's mind, who went down to his knees, and cried Althorn's death, and cursed the day he had allowed them all to go on such infamous journey.

Dalfir who had finally managed to reach the woods spotted Birgin Arcanjo and Althorn. He yelled to them as he ran. Get out of the woods now! Go! He sees that Althorn is dead Arcanjo stands at his side as if in a daze. Arcanjo you must take Birgin and get out of the woods. Hurry. Arcanjo picks up Birgin and runs toward the city. A pack of Wargs runs toward Dalfir. Dalfir stands on the edge of the woods. He implants his staff in the groud. There is a flash and the woods start on fire. Dalfir runs toward the city himself. As he runs he sees Jaquel and Boffin fighting close together. Jaquel is punched by a fearsome troll and falls to the ground. Dalfir runs to save him but it is too late the troll steps on Jaquel. He is dead. Dalfir grabs Boffin to get him out of the midst of the trolls. He runs faster than ever towards Trurion.

The unconscious dwarf groans and slowly opens his eyes, one at a time. He is aware that he is being carried by someone.
The smell of blood was strong, and was everywhere, orc blood, warg blood, troll blood, someone else's blood, and...his own blood. Birgin couldn't beleive that blood could smell so strong.
He passed out again.

Arcanjo follows Dalfir without saying a word and runs out of the woods. He does not turn back to see the woods burning, Althorn will not be burried, Arcanjo will never forgive himself. As he runs into Trurion, he sees the city completely destroyed. - Where are we going to Dalfir? - Asks Arcanjo with his voice as cold as ice.
