If JRRT were still alive and writing, yes! But, someone else's version of Middle Earth, No!

I would read them but like Greenwood said that's not the same thing as if Tolkien had write them.

I couldn't help but read them, but they could never amount to the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

I would read them. Especially if they are about the dwarves.

I would read other Middle Earth books but if they are written by JRRT.But we don't have such luck,so I won't read anything written by someone else.It won't be the same feeling, the same style and stories.

Of course I would but only by Christopher Tolkien. I know that it would never be the same but it seems that some talent still excists in the family.

I know I would but like Anarchist I would only read them if Chritopher Tolkien wrote them. It just wouldn't seem right if it wasn't in the family.

reading books not by JRR tolkien would be like watching the movie. its obviously different from tolkien's work but it is still enjoyable. i agree with mithrandir2003/anarchist in that it would be better if christopher tolkien wrote them though i'd probably read them no matter who they are by.

It doesn't reeeally matter who wrote any further Middle-Earth books, as long as they were true to Tolkien's life work, and as long as nothing new was made up. Even Christopher couldn't be expected to invent more yore that would equal his father's. But if a huge bunch of completed notes would suddenly turn up and somebody (quite obviously Chris) would write one or more books on them, I would not hesitate to buy and read every single copy. It's different with books, see. :)

I have to agree with Pontifex. I would buy and read them.

You know what would be neato? If we put together our own paragraphs about like the Fourth Age, like we could call it the Green Book Of Gondor. It might just be a dumb i dea of mine, but oh well.

I actually had a request from someone in St. Petersburg in Russia for me to make a map of Middle-earth for some hack story that an author wrote that takes place well after LotR. I of course turned it down...

I agree. Just because something has "Middle Earth" pasted on it does not mean that it is a great peice of art. It took a long time for my friend to convince me to read The Lord of the RIngs. So I guess I agree with you, Walter.
