The Council of the Valar will be the meeting place for all TF Valars to join in discussion of the current affairs of Middle Earth.
Held in the great Halls of Valmar, atop the slopes of Taniquetil, The Councill of the Valar shall join together, in an effort to find resolutions for the ills of the world and provide either aid or council to the peoples of middle earth.
So without further ado, I would like to welcome both Valar and Istari alike to join in discussion.

Oh puleeeze!
What are you guys doing? All just hopping on private jets out to Valinor every day? Or have you perhaps abandoned your day jobs in Middle Earth?
I hope this is just another silly thread. I won't recognise anything on it as part of the overall RP.
Or maybe I should post that I am revealing myself for who I truly am ...
For I am Morgoth AND I'M BACK MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Anyone object???

To answer Snaga's question:
No we are not hopping on jets to Valinor and ignoring the affair of Middle earth. Quite the contrary. As Valar and Maiar it is our duty to watch over the Ea and all of its inhabitants. Therefore this is a meeting place to discuss what is, what was, and what will be in Middle Earth. If there is an issue that the Valar could help with...this is the place to voice that issue.
This is also a meeting place for the Valar of Valinor interact with other Valars in the forum. (Even if the number of Valars are few)
I hope that this clears up the confusion.

OK I will put it less sarcastically, and more clearly this time.
(1) If you are residing in Middle Earth, you can't go to councils in Valinor.
(2) The Valar don't intervene in the affairs of Middle Earth. Well, actually their intervention is that they have sent the Istari.
(3) The idea of a place you can just post requests to the Valar is out of the question.
If this is seen as any part of our esteemed RP, then it will be the single worst thing that anyone has ever done IMO. Just when we'd put a stop to everyone being a wizard and everyone being a Maia, this comes along.
Nothing personal, but I'd really just like to preserve the spirit of Tolkien just a little...:)

Crazy, Snaga. We can have avatars, or walk unseen, in ME, and then appear back in Valinor in time for the council meeting.
WE'RE SPIRITS, FOR ERU'S SAKE!!
And we were BEFORE the wizard guilds were shut down, too. Honestly, some people.....

Snaga,
You must think I am on a power trip but you are sorrily mistaken. I simply wanted a place for Valars to meet. But since there are few Valars on the board, I offered that Maiar be allowed to come in as well.
I am well versed in tolkien lore...and I am well aware that the Valar no longer intervene in Middle Earth affairs, aside from the Istari who they sent during the third age. However, I refuse to believe that the Valar lock themselves in their land and are unaware of the happenings of Middle Earth. And I would certainly like to think that even after the third age the Valar hold High Council to discuss the current happenings of Middle Earth and its people.
This is not a place to request help! However, if Maiars come to seek advice it is welcome. That was my intention...if I did not make myself clear formally...then I appologize.
The fact is there is no place where a Valar can go in Middle Earth and really fit in. This is their meeting place.
I am well aware of the contraversy that occurred a few months ago concerning the abuse of maiar powers. I have been very careful to not abuse my own Valier powers and tried my best to maintain consistancy to Tolkien's vision. I would not abandon that ethic in this thread. However, if others like you share your opinion and feel that this thread is a mistake...then I will close down the thread myself! However, I would like to think that it wouldn't have to come to that.
Until that time I will maintain the thread and hope that others can be open-minded enough to join in good faith that this kind of thread will not lead to misconduct on the forum.
And with that said I would like to start this thread over and welcome my fellow Valar and Maiars to come join.

Tarien and Elbereth
Yesterday I was suffering from a condition known as 'Forum-Rage'.
It is induced by stress. Lots of stress. Under conditions of stress, all creatures have a 'Fight or Flight' reaction.
Normally, being an orc, I choose to Fight.
Having read your post Tarien, I will choose 'Flight'
AAAAAAARRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!
* runs away... a long way away *
(But you got lucky today Tarien!!!;) )

Elbereth this sounds really fun. Sorry Snaga had to "shoot you down" like that. I am ashamed of him. But like he said he is an orc. So that pretty much explains it.
I am a Maiar. Can I change my name? Instead of just being Gandalf? I was thinking about Eriath or Andloth. What do you say?

Both those names sound fine...but what about Olorin. That was Gandalf's name in Valinor.

Sure, Elbereth, I can be Olorin. That is a cool name.
