Gandalf exploding in a light at Fanghorn, leading a charge at Helms deep, and the panoramic views of the battle, with scores of men manning the battlements, truly incredible. Wormtounge looks like hes on heroin, and the shot of Gollum doesnt look computer generted at all. Extremely well done.
Only seven more months to go eh?

I downloaded the trailer from the web but I can't remember the URL! I guess you just have to search the web a little I'm sure you'll find it.

Ok, I've been seeing around places that some people have seen the new trailer, not the one that was added onto FOTR but a new one.
Does anyone know when we can actually see or download this trailer?
I've looked in all the normal places to look that I can think of but they either don't say when it's released or I missed it.

It should be out any day now. It's about a minute long or so.

Yeah, I did see it was due out in May and there's only a couple of days left. It'd better be available to download from the net, I don't mean badly done pirate copies but an official release.
I haven't seen the original trailer yet, I decided not to watch it because the quality of the one I downloaded was so bad. I'd rather wait for a good quality one.

I'm not sure if it will be downloadable, but maybe.

When someone finds the released version and not the pirated one could you post the website address here. That would be much appreciated.

Well, I was in school today and I found the new trailer. I found it on www.empiremovies.com and downloaded it. But, www.lightsoutentertainment.com told me it's not due out 'till 2nd July.
I got home this evening and went to download it but the link no longer worked, the file isn't there.
So, I went back to www.lightsoutentertainment.com and they say they have the trailer. It's on a different server to the previous one so I'm thinking "Great". But it no longer works either. Same as the first one.
Incidentally, www.lordoftherings.net has no mention of it at all, just the new poster.
Anyone know why this is? Have the powers that be taken them off the servers or what?
Talimon

lordoftherings.net has no mention of it because it's not out yet. But you can get see the teaser poster there. It's really cool.

Actually if you go to the Movies section of www.apple.com it's easy to download as well. It's interesting to see what has been left out that was shown in the theaters. No Arwen...No Ent. Less talk and more action...I don't recall if the "Shield Surfing" scene was in the teaser in the theater. Every version of this thing as they get closer to release will be interesting to compare to the previous one...

This movie has vast potential.
I can feel it.

...what scares me Darth is that someone with wads of money wanting to invest it in making a movie thought the same thing about "Ishtar"...

Sure the movie has great potential but at what cost?
And from what point of view does it have great potential?
Darth Saruman

I see potential, partly, through the battle scenes: what I've seen of the conception of the siege of Helm's Deep looks fantastic, IMO.
In all honesty it would have been cool if Sean Connery or Patrick Stewart played Theoden, but then again, too much of the budget would have been spent on their salaries. Also, if that was the case, I would have probably expected Theoden to say "make it so", or "engage" at any minute, or I would be waiting for him to say "I'm Theoden...King Theoden..." ;)

LOL Darth, I think I would also be expecting that. But what do you think that fight scene between Eowen and Aragorn was about? I don't remember reading that in the book.

-Flame I'm not sure but I believe the swordplay is meant to highlight the sexual tension between the two characters. Phallic=swords=sex imagery.
Then there's Eown trying to prove that she's as good or better at fighting than any man.
Talimon

Sexual tension? I don't know where you get that from. Maybe this quote will help direct you to where it fits in:
'All your words are but to say: you are a woman, and your part is in the house. But when the men have died in battle and honour, you have leave to be burned in the house, for the men will need it no more. But I am of the House of Eorl and not a serving-woman. I can ride and wield blade, and I do not fear pain or death.'

It's pretty plain that P.J. is trying to develop material to highlight the "unrequited love" that Eowen has for Aragorn in some way...

do you remember that Arwen had her sword in Aragorn's throat in the first movie, that kinda cheesed off all the NPW's on here, so PJ thought he might p!ss them off again with a woman's sword to the throat again in the TTT :D
Poor Aragorn, he has to have cheesy lines and then the opportunities to have his throat cut off  whats a king to do but walk the path of the Dead :D

Well `Hobo I guess I have to give P.J. one thing...he's got you feeling empathy for one of the characters which is necessary for good story telling!:) (BTW, where the heck have you been? It's been eeeeerily quiet without your unique cynisism...)

Of course there is sexual tension where Aragorn is concerned, you kiddin’ me? Daddy Elrond has had Arwen locked up in that mithril chastity-belt for how long now? Seriously, can the brother get some love?
