Ciryaher

Ciryaher stopped as he passed through the gate in the Rammas Echor. The endless lines of troops behind him took a while to stop, but by the time the last had rested, the front was moving again...
Thus the ordered columns of Arnor's vast infantry came behind the elite Praetorians, and they marched around the wall of Minas Anor, saluting the White Tower as they did. When they reached the great road from Osgiliath to Minas Anor, they turned towards the Citadel of the Stars upon the Anduin.
They reached the gate in the Rammas Echor, outside the city, and rested. The Emperor waited for the other participants to arrive while he sat upon the wall, moving his legs idly.

"Greetings Lord Ciryaher, Is the gate open, I would like to show off my new army and my armour ehehehehehee. When will the parade start? I am i need of rest"

All heads turned to see the newest spectacle. Singing echoed over the hills as the elves of the army of Dor-Taur-Sir sang a song in the sildarian language. The sound of their horses added a rough beat to the singing, and music filled the land. There were men singing too, and their lower voices rang out in harmony with the elven. Elessar was at the front. He was wearing dark silver armour, with the sign of an eagle on his breastplate. He had men riding behind him, who were taller than the Beornings and woodsmen. They were Dunedian, surely, most thought, Kinsmen of the Lord Elessar and Lady Arathin themselves. For she was there too, riding beside Elessar. The Dunedian were holding banners raised on great spears. Three in the background were undistinguishable, for they were a great distance still. But the foremost was larger than the rest, and it was the banner of Dor-Taur-Sir. It was the sign of the Eagle; in one hand it held a fish, the sign of the river, and in the other it held a brach with three leaves, the sign of the forest.
Elessar spurred Bill on, as Arathin did to Gildor. Tarien, captain of Dor-Taur-Sir, ordered the men to turn and make camp on a flat place on the plain. The standards that had followed Elessar turned with Tarien, save the one of Dor-Taur-Sir. The man holding it galloped instead to the city, to add the standard of Dor-Taur-Sir to the banners of Gondor, Arnor, and Rohan that flew from the tower of Minas-Tirith.
Elessar rode up to Eomer and Ciryaher. "Hail, lords of the valliant west, what an occasion this day is. Where is the lord Valar? I have a gift that was due to him on his crowning, but I was unable to present it then..."
Mithrandir
05-29-2002, 08:14 PM
Suddenly a loud horn rang in the hills and a great light filled the land. The lords looked in the direction of the light knowing it could only be one person, for light is his trademark.
Over the hills a man clad in white armor, with a white cloak, rode ever closer. The spectacle, however, was not Mithrandir who the company had seen many times, but the small force that rode behind him.
The Mithril Knights, only 30 in number, strode valiantly behind Mithrandir and. All clad in a shiny metal that much resembled Mithril the army was small, yet remarkable. This was the first time the army had been seen by a large group of people, and all together. Normally the secret militia of the White Council, the Knights was a glorious sight indeed.
Mithrandir called the army to a halt as they came to the other forces, and strode up to the other leaders,"Good day my friends, it is a splendid day for this little parade is it not. The Lady Talierin should as well be coming shortly with her forces. So, tell me, what do you think of my little force? They do not look like much, but let me tell you each one fights with the might of ten soldiers. Now, where is the lord Valar, I wish to congratulate him, and present him, and his lady with a gift......"
(ooc:I will not make this metal mithril, due to the fact that the metal is meant to be rare)

*Nearly All of the army of Gondor were by now positioned along side The Infantry of Arnor. So Vast the Armys of The nations present were, that for as far as the eye could see were shining spears and helms, like a see of diamonds.*
*A quiet fell upon Minas Tirith for a few moments, Then horns and voices called out, the sang till all around could hear the clear, strong voices of the Men of Minas tirith.*
*The Gates opended and out rode the knights and paladins of Gondors army, flags raised high and horns blazing. They escoted the King and Queen of Gondor out to meet the Start of the Parade. They're chariot, fashioned in Gold and Silver was like a sunset rolling across the Green plain.*
*Valar called to his men and all but a few rode off to the head of his Army and Valar and Elbereth went to great they're guests*
"Friends and Allies, Lords and Ladys welcome to the festival and parade of Gondor. I am pleased to see that all Such fine military strength is here to honour the occasion"
*Valar stepped down from the charriot and took his Ladys hand and helped her down, They walked hands clasped towards Lords Ciryaher, Elessar, Eomer and Mithrander*
"Welcome my friends"

The Dwarves of Ered Nimrais had completed their preparations for the parade, and were gathered in the halls at the easternmost gate of the White Mountains.
Mormegil gave the order, and the great gate was opened. The King was at the front riding his horse, in front of 500 rangers, who were in turn followed by the Dwarven army. They began to file out through the gate onto the plains of Anorien.
The Dwarves marched in a neat formation, wearing black armour lined with silver. They carried their axes slung on their backs, and held their sheilds which bore the emblem of Ered Nimrais; white mountains against a blue background.
Up ahead Mormegil could see the Mithril Knights, the light shining brightly off of their armour.
The Dwarves continued to file out onto the plain until eventually they were all out. Mormegil gave the order and the great gate was closed.
And they marched, following the Mithril Knights and Mithrandir. Arriving soon after Mithrandir. Mormegil bade his men set up camp near to Elessar's men. Then he rode towards the gathering of the Lords.
"Greetings Lord Ciryaher, Lord Eomer, Lord Elessar, Lord Valar and friend Mithrandir. What a great day it is. I hope that the parade will go as planned. I also have brought a gift for the Lord Valar, I will present it later."
Mormegil turned to survey the gathered might of the West.
Talierin
05-29-2002, 09:36 PM
The Lady Talierin appeared, clad in her best green holding Ithilien's green/black banner high, bow at her side, riding her great black steed Talemi. Her elite archer team of about a thousand walked in format all around her in full battle dress. Behind them came Ithilien's infantry of four thousand, first swords, then pikes, and finally battle axes, all upraised in front of them.
They marched until they came alongside Mithrandir's knights, and Talierin rode forward and dismounted in front of the lords, bowed, then said "Hail, my lords. Ithilien ready for parade." She then took her place at Mithrandir's side.

She then excuses herself and makes her way toward Lady Talierin and Elgee and greets them accordingly.
Arathin
05-30-2002, 04:48 AM
Arathin dismounts Gildor, and stands beside Elessar as he dismounts. She gazes around at the assembled arms and mutters. "Everyone shows there strengths so that they will not be attacked fore fear of might, but showing our strengths and ignoring our weaknesses is our first and last defeat." She turns to the other leaders gathered, an almost mournful expression on her face. "War and armies lead to not but death, destruction, and defeat. They are pointless necessities." She shakes her head. "Ah well. Even if it is pointless, it is still a necessity."

Suddenly, a loud bugle sounds out from the North. Five hundred elves march with the Lady of Rivendell at their head on Asfaloth. Between her and the elves are two heralds and flag bearers. One is proudly bearing the flag of Arnor, and the other bears a flag with seven stars in a circle on it, with two trees in the center, both representing the house of Feanor, and Aredhel's own emblem of an eight sided gem above them all. They enter the city, and she greets the Lords.
Ciryaher
05-31-2002, 12:58 AM
Ciryaher jumped down from the wall and removed his heavy armour, feeling the grass on his now-bare feet. "We shall have festivities for 19 days. On the 18th of June, a sign will come and signal the end of the festival. For now, let us enjoy the company of friends and allies while the sun is bright, and the weather cheerful."
He smiles and ordered the hand-towed carts to be unloaded. Pavilions went up, and banners flowed in the breeze.

*Arathin, gloomy thoughts forgot, smiles in the dazzaling sunlight. She asks several of her Dunedain soldiers to play the instruments they brought. As everyone knows, Dunedain are as skilled on instruments as they are with their weapons and at tracking anything in the wild. Arathin begins to dance to the music of the Dunedain. Slowly at first, but soon the pace of her dancing and the music grow faster and faster. Soon her silken gown of foresty green and brown hues is whipping around her lithe Elvenish form. The dance is an ancient one of celebration brought from Numenur itself before the flood. The sky seems to banish the few clouds that had resided within its hold as her dance continues.*

Chippy arrives on her horse, Earl. A horse that Lord Eomer gave to her so many long months back. Chippy is glad to see everyone so happy, but she, herself was feeling down and lonely. She put her thoughts of Beorn behind her and joined the group of her fellow friends.
"A lovely day it is, a good day to choose for the first day of the celebration of King Valar and Queen Elbereth"
Ciryaher
05-31-2002, 09:06 AM
There is a vast tract of open field that is the parade ground. It is barren of pavilion or structure, and Ciryaher's army forms five diamond-shaped formations at the edges.
They begin to march around, in a great circle...slowly converging. The blunt ends of the diamonds came closer and closer as the great wheel rotated, and the shape of a five-pointed star was now obvious. As the star locked together, there was a blast of trumpets, and the soldiers in formation saluted the White Tower.
Ciryaher winded his horn and the formation dispersed, to allow for another demonstration.

In the shadows the elf they call Nathia Alaria was hidden, watching the display with grave attention. She was but a passer-by in these lands strange to her but not unknown. She knew all of the lands, all of the people, all of the languages. But this she saw now caught her interest. Such gaity and celebration, she had not seen for a long while. She steps out of the shadows, making herself seen, something she had not done for a long time. Those near her freeze, stopping their merriment in suprise of her. Suddenly regret came to her thoughts, she did not belong here, she did not even know what drew her to this land. As the people watched her, she slowly pulled down her dark hood, revealing herself. Her hair, pale blonde and long, fell about her shoulders, her eyes, profound as they were pierced the room with their startling blue-grey colour.
She looked around, then spoke, her words clear against the medley of distant music, "Forgive me your greatness, for intrusion in this fair place. I know not why I am here nor what is my purpose, my heart pulled me to your land." She paused, not knowing what else to do. "I am Nathia."

Indeed Aredhel. If we have met before this very age, it would have been in Imladris or the surrounding Wilderness. His shoulders slumped and his body seemed burdened with sadness once more. "Very well," he said quietly to the messenger, "You may go."
He trudged towards Valar. "Greetings, brother...I have heard ill rumours. The situation in Earhwesta may be worse than I expected. If these rumours turn out to be fact, I will have no choice but to return with my forces to put down what has arisen."

She places it in Arathin's palm," This is a token of friendship, delved deep in the mines of Moria, and given to the Elves of Eregion before they were sundered. It is only fit that one of great beauty should wear it. And for you Elessar, I have a gift for you."

She then kisses him softly, whispers something in his ear and then places a small gem in his hand. They embrace once more before she departs on a large, majestic, silver eagle.
Blocking the bright rays of the sun with his hand, Valar watches as she takes off towards the western lands of Earhwesta. His eyes follow her as the eagle carries her past the snow cap mountains and toward a land of great uncertainty and danger. A worried expression is spread across Valar's face and he stands unmoving for many momments after she disapeared beyond the golden horizon.

Nathia watched all that went on around her. She had been quiet for some time now, contemplating what it was she heard. It seemed as though some sudden despair had reached this fair place, this place she had only just moments before thought to be so happy and joyous. With the keen hearing she had aqquired over many years of living in wilderness, she caught bits of the discussions. She heard news of Earthwesta, though what it was of she did not understand. These affairs, she thought, perhaps were too beyond her power to have meddled in.
As some of the high peoples began to disperse after recieving the news, which Nathia could see had brought them much grief, a captian walked up to the King Eomer, and whispered to him of his distrust of the newcomer. Nathia listened intently. This newcomer he spoke of was her. He turned and looked at her darkly.
The minutes passed while Nathia pondered this thought. She sighed, for too long she had chosen the ways of exile, living off the land and watching people rather than being with them. She had forgotten the meaning of a friend, the fears of encountering new people, and the thoughts of her they felt.
Finally she saw this man, who had introduced himself to Elgee as Eothain, talk with his lord. Now she knew she must do something. She walked over to him, her elvish beauty no longer hidden by dark cloaks. She nods to him, then with the courage she could find she says, "Eothain, Captain of Rillanon, if you are to keep an eye on me I should suggest you use both, for if you take the world with only one eye open as you have been, you will see not all that there is to see. You look upon me with your one eye and see a danger, you see falcity, whereas if you would open your eyes truly you would see me as your friend, and see the aid I may give. I do not know of what it is that troubles your people, but it is my way to help nontheless. A powerful ally I may yet prove to be, but I will give you my word now that a dangerous enemy I am not." She bows to him, and looks up at him with her eyes sad and knowing once more.

She watches the armies move out of the Pelennor. She wondered how her own people fared back home in Rivendell, as with the archers she accompanied here.
She left the balcony, and mingled among the Lords and Ladies. She noticed a strange woman, and she approached her.

"Lord, King of Rohan, my I follow your man Eothain and assist him in his worthy and difficult cause. I rarely exercise my skills as a healer anymore, and it hurts to think of men in anguish."

Well of course, I shall accompany you. I would do nothing else in a troubled time such as these. As for our men, I believe that we should take a small detail with us. It isn't wise to travel, no matter what the circumstances, without at least a few of one's own men. What about Palan's force of Dunedain and Elves? They are a trust-worthy lot, my dear.

And so he would be pretty far away by then. So i suggest you ride fast if u want to catch up with him. I need a messenger to send him a message. I doubt that he will belive you, so i will send one of my own. Theodain"

Late in the night, while the waning moon sat low in the sky, the Army of Arnor voicelessly marched onto the Pelennor and simply slept where they were. No fire was made; no tent pitched. A slumberful atmosphere lay over those camped around the White City.
Mithrandir
06-18-2002, 10:22 AM
In the night air a strange figure cloaked in white road up to the sleeping army of Arnor. He slowly rode up to the camp and got off his horse. He stealthly slipped by the guards and went to a small fire where a man cloaked inn black awaited. Upon further inspection the man was not any normal being. Upon his head was a small crown, and he shown with power underneath the garments.
Mithrandir sat next to the fire and warmed himself,"My lord, you will be happy to know that all is going as planned. We shall be ready by tommorrow, and the festival was a complete success. No one has suspected the true cause."
Ciryaher, Emperor of Arnor, looked Mithrandir in the eyes,"The time has finally come old friend. We shall attain what has been meant to happen for a long time. This shall be a trying time, but I am glad we have who we have to assist us in these trials. Go, and tell the captains to be ready by tommorrow."
"Yes My Lord, as you wish." Mithrandir picked himself up and began to head out.
"And, Mithrandir..."
"Yes My lord?"
"May the Valar protect you."
"Yes My Lord"

As sunrise approaches, the land seems to have darkened more than usual. All is quiet, and the land is deathly still....
And then a cauk (intentional misspelling) crowed, and the sun's first beams raced over the peaks of the Ephel Duath, and they danced over shining metal. For, behold, there was the vast army of Arnor standing silent in full battle gear.
A sleepy sentinel in the White Tower was one of the few to see it with his own eyes, but the news quickly spread. Amidst the army were light handcarts carrying strange collections of metal and framing wood. The Army was formed into a gigantic delta, and if one were to let fly some magical arrow in the same direction as the wedge was pointed, one might very well pierce the banner atop Barad Gostannen.
The Emperor stood upon a low stone wall and spoke:
Friends, allies, and fellow servants of the West; Hail! This is the hour of which I have spoken to you all--the final hour of peace. Let our words be turned to deeds, and let us do that which is our duty, right, and honor!
He then took a horn from the commanders of the Praetorian (Jahrdur and Ervûrkéä, both mysterious men in themselves) and winded such a horrible note that those with unprepared and simple hearts were stricken with fear and they hid themselves.
With a great shout of death and a clashing of weapon upon shield, the Army moved forward toward Osgiliath.

Ok, this is to let you all know. No fighting occurs in this thread, and as soon as the battle is underway, this becomes a discussion thread. You can assemble your army, but then you go to either the Formen or the Romen thread (according to which route you'll be taking).

Mormegil watched the troops of Arnor begin to march away. Then, drawing his own horn to his lips he blew the signal for his army to ready themselves to move.
The Dwarves assembled themselves into squadrons, the sun shining brightly off of the silver trim on their armour. The squadrons were assembled quickly and Mormegil gave a second blow on the horn, signalling the order to start marching.
The host of Ered Nimrais, numbering some 20,000 set off, following the army of Arnor towards Osgilliath. Mormegil rode at the front with his rangers, and the squadrons of Dwarves marched behind.
