Everyone thinks I am CRAZY and STUPID because I LOVE LOTR!!!! Do other people think you are crazy that you like LOTR?????????

I think my parents used to wonder why the heck I loved LOTR so much. Then the movie came out and they loved it just as much as I did. Now they have a higher respect for Tolkien and my fascination with his works.

My family doesn't like the movie but they enjoy the book. Of coarse they like Tolkien's books, cause I'm related to him I think that has something to do with it, but they r starting to think I am going mad about it. I'm LOTRitizing my computor, have the soundtrack that I listen to all the time, And I painted part of my bedroom to be part of LOTR. They just don't see has work as I do.....

Hmmm... my family is indifferent to it. My friends used to think it was cool that I was into something that they weren't but now they are a little annoyed with it and think I've gone too far. As for everyone else (like who know me but aren't my friends) they're state of mind on my obsession is pretty much LOTR = crazy. *shrugs*

Yeah, Sam!!! How are you related to Tolkien? That's really interesting. Yeah........ my friends always act like I'm a maniac when I'm around them. I mean, the first thing I have to say is, "Oh, you know what I saw/found?", and they act SO BORED of being around me. Guess life is like that.
Two of my friends were actually the ones who got me into LOTR. So don't have to worry about boring them to death. And my other friends don't mind they think it's kinda cool. They just havn't really gotten into it yet.......

Whenever I've told someone I'm obsessed w/ LOTR they either just shrug & change the subject or they seem 2 share my obsession. My mom's glad 2 see me reading something I enjoy, but she's starting 2 wish I'd stop talking about it so much. Sam r u really related 2 Tolkien?
Ya, I found out from my dad and he showed me his sighned book. I practically fainted when i found out!

Hey, My Precious, I don't have anyone special that I'm related to either. Except very distantly. My grandpa said that we are the 10th cousins of the royalty of England. That's all.

Well... Almost all of my friends practicaly grew up on Tolkien, so...:D
But...my parents... they just don't understand!!! Just because they didn't read it as school literature, it's not good enough!!!!! They always say something like : "Why don't you read something like 'War and peace'?"...."Well, mom, dad, I've read 'War and peace', and this is the same stuff, it's just hell of a more interesting!!!!!!!!"

All of my friends are huge fans, or are becoming fans. Even if everyone around me didn't like it, I believe I still would.
YAY YAY!!
I went to see MIB 2, and saw TTT trailer!! I couldn't download it on my comp, and so that's why I am soo happy!

I first got the LOTR book as a present last Christmas.
Since then:
:cool: I have read it three times;
:rolleyes: I have read the Hobbit and the Silamrillion twice
:) My computer interface bares as many LOTR details as possible
:p I have downloded 235 pics, including stills from the movies, maps, behind the scene pics etc
:rolleyes: I have downloded almost all the QT video clips
:p In my "Favourites" section the LOTR one is three times bigger than any other section and contains almost all the good web-pages dedicated to the topic
:cool: I am subscribed to at least 5 forums which I visit daily
:) I have built up a wonderfull friendship with someone from the USA as we met in one of those Forums
;) I have ordered the extended DVD- set and the book in English language
;) I have reccommended the three books to almost every and each person that I know or get to know in work or on any other occasion
Now, you tell me:
AM I COMPLETELY CRAZ-Z-Z-Z-Y?

i can relate to friends calling ya crazy bout lotr. i saw the movie 7 times. (the last time just to see ttt trailer). i've read the trilogy 5 or 6 times. i've read the hobbit, silmirilian, book of lost tails, etc.. plus i can write in elvish and dwarvish. and i can't wait for the two towers to come out!!!!!!

I can't stop talkong about Tolkien's work...I made my sister read the books (and she hates reading), I made my boyfriend read the books (they were my present), and the ultimate deed on Tolkien's behalf was to convince my mom it's actually great literature!!! Now, THAT took some real mental powers!!!:D

Yesterday was Sunday and that is when all the ads come in our paper. Anyways, I discovered that SOMEONE had thrown all of them away already, so I rummaged through the entire trash can and pulled up all the magazines and tore out of them anything related to LOTR. The garage (and my room) were a total mess of scissors and papers and pictures by the time I was done. (My friends did the same thing, so I learned). :D :D :D
