But I wonder if any of the cast of LOTR have visited this site. A few of cast members have claimed that they have visited a few of the tolkien sites on the web. There is a possibility that they have visited...but if they did...I doubt they would announce it. (LOL!!! They'd be mobbed if they did) :D

PJ and Fran visit theonering.net on a pretty regular basis. A while back they used to even read the forums (or so I'm told). Never posted to my knowledge, but they read posts.

I know they visit the site because of numerous comments made by both regarding the weekly poll. And I've had people tell me besides. I was told that while PJ was writing the script he'd go on forums for hours at a time. I kind of doubt that, but I do know he has been involved in one way or another with the community.

I'm not surprised that TheOneRing.net is visited. I've suspected for some time that that site is being supported financially by New Line anyways since it seems fairly suspect that a fan site which is supposed to be run by some young man in his spare time was one of the sponsors of the Hollywood "Fellowship of the Ring" opening night party...and the speed at which their "Spies" were able to obtain information about the production was interesting when no other sites were "obtaining" such uniquely inside information...

I never looked at it that way... Could be true though :). What I do know is that theonering.net is the most visited fan-site, so were Peter and Fran to visit any site it would make the most sense to visit that one.

I'm not so sure about the spies being fake though, because often the information they got was either low quality or fake. And then there were the spoilers, which I'm SURE neither New Line nor PJ were (or are) very supportive of. And then there are the reviews (check out the section called the Green Books). These reviews were far from being blatantly supportive of the film, and quite frankly were mostly negative. If there is any website that is openly supportive of the LotR movies it's aintitcool.com. That was just too fake. You could tell PJ (or someone) was stuffing the reviewers serious money or something. But then again, Harry gives good reviews to every movie that comes out (literally), so maybe it's not surprising he hailed FotR so much :).
