First I would like to thank Talierin for helping me organize the nominations.
You may nominate any RPG for any catagory that you feel fit, but only RPGs nominated twice will be considered, unless there are insufficient numbers of backed nominations. There will be five final RPG nominees for each catagory, each final RPG nominee will be checked to make sure that it is listed under the appropriate catagory.
There are no limits for numbers of posts to be eligible, nor how many RPGs one has participated in, there are some that are quite new but may be very talented at RPing.
AND THE CATAGORIES ARE:
1) Best Special Effects
2) Best Female in a Supporting Role
3) Best Male in a Supporting Role
4) Best Female in a Leading Role
5) Best Male in a Leading Role
6) Best Serious RPG
7) Best Lighthearted RPG
8) Best Plot Twist
9) Best Comic Relief
10) Best 'On-Screen' Team
LET THE NOMINAIONS BEGIN! :)

Good work Goofoo...
Can I ask what you mean by 'Best On-Screen Team'?
chrysophalax
06-29-2002, 06:24 PM
When you say best Male and Female are you referring to the writer or the character?
goofoofighter
06-29-2002, 09:24 PM
Thanks Snaga.
By 'Best On-Screen Team' I mean for those RPGs that don't really have a main character. Some RPGs have a team rather than a hero.
And by best Male and Female I am referring to the character.

Next time we will have to also have Best Narration, and Best Locations
(he says in a thinly-veiled attempt to increase his own meagre chances of winning something!;) )

Could someone please list the name of all the eligible RPG's that can be nominated. We should find a distinction here, especially since we have already handed out oscars for earlier rpg's.

OK here is a list of threads that might be eligible. There may be others that people would like to consider, for example in the Government Councils forum, or in the Prancing Pony??
I basically included any that were active in the last 3 months, with the exception of those that haven't/didnt get going.

I started the Cat Riders RPG and I think it shouldn't get anything. It was meant as a lighthearted deversion...
However, I also started the Mirror, and I think that had a few redeaming qualities... such as the fight with the evil mother in laws.

Is it alright If I use an RPG that was not considered for any awards last time, It had just finished when the Awards were taking place, and I don't think anyone participating in the awards nominated it. The RP was RP22, the one that spawned from the Rivendale RP, it was something about the gates of the sun closing, and the Blue Wizards being responsible for it. In it both of the Blue Wizards were destroyed, and it had a wonderful plot and much great magic.

Chrys don't waste time fighting with Nain.
Look Nain, why can't someone play a Female Dwarf? And Turgon nominated you....so he obviously thought you were a good RP'er, granted he made a small mistake *snicker*.
Whatever it is you could've been a bit nicer about the whole affair, no need to get all riled up. I pray for your sake that a feminist doesn't see your deregatory post about Female dwarves or you'll be in hot water.:D You do come across as pretty chauvanistic back there.
In anycase this thread is for nominating people for RP'ing and not for fighting over small mistakes.
So in a nice summary...
KNOCK IT OFF PEOPLE. STOP FIGHTING!

I'm not saying anything's wrong with females, but how many would CHOOSE out of their own will to be a female dwarf?
HLGStrider
07-16-2002, 11:07 PM
I think Nain has a point. I mean, female dwarves have been suspected of having beards... I don't think we'll run into too many. Besides they aren't very important in the story.
I am definately anti-feminist... though I am a girl. I mean, the whole movement is sort of petty.

I want to nominate my RPG for some stuff, but I'm afraid to cuz, well, they're mine, and cuz I haven't read any of the other RPGs. I haven't really had time...
But if they're allowed, I want to nominate Glory and WarriorMay for best Team for their work in RPG 13. I don't know if they want to include me in it because I made the RPG, but I have a character in the team and the three of us are all that's left.

What's going on in here? Is it time for the RPG Oscars again already? Shouldn't we wait for a while? Aren't the RPGs going pretty slow nowadays? Not many of the serious ones have gotten very far since the last time. I haven't been watching the lighthearted ones lately. oh well. I doubt that many would believe me unless the goofoofighter person told lots of people, but I'm supposed to be in charge of the next RPG Oscars. Maybe I'm just crazy, but wouldn't it be more fun with more people around?
