Mirina strode inside the royal hall inside the palace that Mirina resided in.
It was a pretty room, with simple oak chairs, and green velvet upholstery.
With a moderate and purposeful voice Mirina announced:
This court has come to session. The purpose of this meeting is to find anwsers. Answers to questions that could not be answered otherwise. I would like a summary of resources, for trade purposes. Any customs you might have, wars that are being fought and anything else. I in return will answer the same.
(( OCC: I am working up a population chart for Lothorien. I'll edit this post when I get it, along with any thing else.))

*also strides into the hall, but with a shield holding all kinds of fish* "Hi there, your Magnificence. I am King Truor Tupnm of the Vale of Anduin. Heard you wanted to talk trade. We will sell honey, mead, produce, wool, and fish. We also have a bird messenger service and Beorning fighters for hire. Just telling you. You seemed interested."

Drygo walks in calmly and speaks to Mirina, "I am sorry for my 'illegal' presence in this council, but I would ask the effects of the attack upon Lothlorien that we had heard of in past times. Something to do with machines?" Drygo says smirking to himself.
Drygo turns, and walks out calmly, meeting his apprentice Azog at the door.

A darkly handsome elf-lord appears on a black steed of great size.
He jumps down, and bows to the queen. Then he presents to her a glittering brooch, of a shimmering silver dragon flying atop the mountains.
'A token of esteem! May all the days of your reign bring you great happiness.' he said with a grin and a flourish.
'I come also to bring you news of Elfamari. Unfortunately he has been delayed against his will. Do not despair of his coming, if you do not see him for some days.'
(ooc - he talked to me on AIM and he can't log on to TTF at the moment.)
Then he took a moment to take in the surroundings. 'A very nice place you have here, your majesty. Simple, but tasteful. Very different from the more sumptuous style of the East.'
Mirina held the brooch in her palm, then gave it to one of her handmaidens for safekeeping.
I am saddend at the thought that Elfmari isn't able to be here. My other governers, they, um, aren't active.
Mirina calls to guards, who stop Drygo from leaving. No Drygo, one does not enter my court, insult me and my thoughts, and then make a disappearing act. Your punishment is to reside in my court until this council is finished. And, there is NO diplomatic immunity here.
(Thanks for letting me know...)
All Lothorien has to offer is fine trees, capable of fine furniture, and little wild fruit...
What kind Drygo is referring to, is catipults (SP) controlled by orcs. I was a little frantic and woozy from the wine.

"You can only trade with furniture and fruits? Huh. I was thinking that we could make a deal with some of your boats, cloaks, and waybread, but if that isn't the case, I can always accept gold." :D

Drygo motions to his apprentice that he should run and get his horse and tie it to a nearby tree. "Make sure you dont burn the forest, and keep that horse well-fed."
Drygo seats himself at a nearby table, and is soon playing Khand-ball with some rolled up napkins and his knife.
While playing, he speaks, "Good thing these evil machines were controlled by one of the smarter races. Imagine if those Elves had come across that power. Middle Earth would have been in shambles!"
Drygo! I will not accept this. You are purely evil. Elves are much smarter then any old disgusting orc. But I see what you are trying to do. You're trying to drive me so crazy that I will release you. Not going to happen.
Motions for guards to take away napkins and knife. Not only do they do this, but they tie him to his chair and gag him. And they take Azog too, and he follows the same fate.
Fine. Well, now on with it.
Lothorien does have waybread and material for cloaks, but only in limited amounts, so they are only for use within Lorien, not for trade. We do have gold though. 100 pieces of gold for, say, 100 trunks of our finest wood.

'May I offer you my opinion, Mirina?' the elf spoke in a quiet tone. 'I think you should release those two. Taking prisoners in this manner will not be seen as an acceptable measure, and it will invite hostilities from their friends.'

Drygo chuckles to himself, "What great hospitality, it seems that you might have lost a precious governor as well. I suggest you not be so rude to strangers, you could get burned, pun intended."
Drygo walks off, and is tempted to kill these weak guards who pretend to be strong, but shrink back under his gaze, but thinks better of it. As a parting shot, as he rides, he sets a small flame down toward the nearby grass. The flames died immediately, and there was a picture engrained, showing a machine being accidentally driven into the oceans by the dumbfounded Elves.
Drygo was soon past the lands of Lothlorien, and was back in Khand, far past the forests.....
Drygo, back in Dur Saur, speaks with his counselors,"Maybe I should send a fruit-basket. Just to ease the tensions."

"Hmmm...no waybread or cloaks. Well, we could always trade for some of your boats, then. You just tell me what you would like from us." *finds a bench and sits, eating his fish*
Mirina, shaking with rage, stood.
'I want all ties disconneted w/ Khand.!'
Mirina settled herself, and replied to Truor. 'Some fish, would indefineatly be fine. In Lothorien, there is none....'

'It is time I left. I said once before that I would come and visit Lothlorien. Now I have, if only briefly. Perhaps I shall return! Look out for me when the sky is black!'
'Why are you leaving?' Mirina asked. You are welcome here... Sting has just been thrown out because he 1. was not invited , and 2. he threw insults at me. You 1. were invited and 2. are behaving very well...

Trade Minister Marby Burrowes (Top Councilor of Their Majesties Kementari and Ciryaher) arrives on a small pony and slides off clumsily.
He held up a scroll bearing the signet-seal of the Emperor Hyarmendacil and spoke, "Greetings, Queen Mirina! I come from my lord and friend the Emperor Ciryaher to make a proposal."
Minister Burrowes broke the seal and read the scroll directly:
Hail Queen of the Golden Wood; may the trees bear fruit and flower for ages to come.
It is quite obvious to me that Lothlorien has little arable land for grains and so forth. I would like to extend a kind and generous hand to offer you ten thousand bushels of quality Arnorian grain per year in return for fifty of the finest bows the Galadhrim have to offer each year. I see this as a lopsided trade strongly in your favor. I shall even provide free transport of the grain to your border for no fee whatsoever.
Please inform my Minister, the amiable hobbit name Marby Burrowes, of your decision.
Sincerely,
Emperor Hyarmendacil III
Mirina wrote back, and handed back the parchment with an attachment:
[I]Hail King of Arnor: May your crops be plentiful
I accept you're proposal for trade. I will be having the bows constucted as soon as I can get the message out.. thank you for you're genorous offer.
Sincerly,
Queen Mirina Strongbow, Warrior Ruler of Lothorien and the Lorien Woods.

Minister Burrowes took the parcement and put it in a sealed leather tube. With a bow, he exited the council and headed back to Annuminas with his companion Eariel (the Emperor's niece).

'AND STAY OUT!'
This is not a joke. A pack of wild wolves has entered the country next door. (The name escapes me) I'm sick of this... no one is to post here in the future. No one is taking me seriously.

Minister Burrowes arrived again in the hall of Lothlorien. "Queen Mirina, His Imperiality wishes me to inform you the the Governor Kit Baggins has been unavailable for some time. When his whereabouts are known, a trade agreement will be worked out between the Shire Province and the Golden Wood!"
***Mod note from Ciryaher: Don't post nonsense here, it is very, very rude***
Thank you for your information. You are excused from court. Mirina turned to her captain of the guards.
' I want at least 3 score men to accompany him'

In times of War, Rohan extends her hand in alliance with Lothlorien.
Do you accept
I accept with a deep graditude in my heart, Lord Eomer. Thank you for your alliance. 50 trunks of our best trees are sent to you as a gift.
((OCC: :Hope Y'all don't mind me joining in! ))
Lothorien heard the call, yes, Lotherien heard it. It struck the hearts of every elven being. Then the whispers, what folly has the queen come to? What war is started? But the people, the once gracious and beatiful and peaceful people were becoming a people of war.. to defend themselves. This time was falling apart, and no one could help.
Mirina was restless. She was but 30 years old, hardly old enough to have respect from her people. She had no idea what to do. The orcs were coming to take her allies, Arnor, and their supporters. Mirina felt compelled to do something, but Lorien was a peaceful wood, and they had no army, only high defenses. Mirina went to the Mirror, passed down from Galadriel, to Wizdom, to Anira, to her. She looked in. A blade was being forged, a blade that would take many lives. But as she looked deeper, is a blade of pure good intent. No evil would destroy it. The Emporer had done well. Mirina set back, and retired to her bedchamber. Nothing could be done now. She could only hope that the dark evil would not come for her, the wood, and the hearts of her people.
She called for Ragnar, her new right hand man. They would have to develop trust if Lorien would survive.
'Ragnar, what is happening? A war is starting, I can feel it. Find out for me, what is going on. Who's attacking?
I have a new Right-Hand Man-- Ragnar. Yippe!
Ragnar

A young Elf stands next to Mirina.
He makes a curtious bow before speaking, "I am Ragnar, and I hope I'll be able to serve to the utmost of my abilities."
Ragnar
09-08-2002, 04:45 AM
Contently Ragnar listens to Mirina's words, then makes a small understanding nod. "If you so wish of me."
He makes a step back, then a little bow, then allows himself to ask, "Where do you think danger is approaching from? I do not wish to ride blindly until I stumble upon an army of those who would lay siege to your land."
He holds his position next to the door, waiting for further instructions and dissmissal.
'To the North'. Mirina words sliced the air as Ragnar exited.
Ragnar
09-08-2002, 05:07 AM
"Then I'll head along into the north, my lady." He bows again before he exits the room. Only moments later is he on his way. Over his shoulder hangs a brown bag filled with dried rations that'll last him for some while. It takes him long time, since he's going on foot, to move over the country.
After some days he comes to something he did not expect. Far away he can see a dark force. He dosen't risk moving much closer, just to barely identify them as humanoids. Humans and Orc's, and the such it seems. But he can't be sure. He decides to quickly turn back. Hopefully he'll be back in time to let her know before it's too late for what ever she's planning.
Few days later, much fewer then it took him when making his way north because of his rushing, he reaches Lorien again. After a couple of hours he manages to get in contact with Mirina again.
"I've only got bad news. A dark force seems to be due north. I might be wrong.. it may be allies, and it may not, I didn't get a good look. But it's an army. A very, very large one. I think I identified some number of Orc's, but I'm far from sure."
'You have done great work, Ragnar, I thank you for your service.' Mirina paused for a moment. It was time for a visit. 'Ragnar, before you leave, alert the maidens that I am leaving soon , they will know what to do.
Ragnar
09-10-2002, 01:45 AM
A small nod in reply at Mirina's words. "I did what I could." He also makes another nod at her latter command, and then procedes to exit her chambers. Before leaving into the town, tho', he alerts the maidens that Mirina's leaving soon. To his surprise they don't even ask for verification, seemingly as they had been expecting it.

do what oh exalted one!!! *looks confuzed* i need to know
Um... Anira... Try to PM me about stuff like this.. (or call me).. LOL!
Mirina rose from her postion near the mirror, and gathered her cloak from the nearest handmaiden. Two elven warriors came with her, to protect her and carry her things. Several days later she arrived at Arnor. There she requested the audience of Ciryaher.
