As you have probably noticed, we are still missing a Guild Description. I would like to propose a week-long competition open to all Ost-in-Edhil members, whereby each member can write a short description, we will hold a voting poll at the end and the winner will have their words 'immortalised' under the Guild name for as long as the Guild and Forum exists:)

I think no less than 2 or 3 sentences should be enough. Competition ends on Tuesday 13th @ 11.30pm GMT.

Dûthonion ... Old but not senile yet? Come, join us and enjoy your retirement at TheTolkienForum's shady pines...

PS: According to Jim Allen's "An Introduction to Elvish..." the proper prefix for "shadowy" should be dû ... Maybe some language expert could help us out....

starts shouting "Keeeeeeinnn, where are ya"? ;)

How about something along the lines of:

'Deep they delved us, fair they wrought us, high they builded us...' Ost-in-Edhil: The Guild of Crumbled Ruins.

???

Crumbled ruins???

I just hope you're not referring to the physical state of some guild members... :D

But Men were more frail, more easily slain by weapon or mischance, and less easily healed; subject to sickness and many ills; and they grew old and died. What may befall their spirits after death the Elves know not. Some say that they too go to the Guild of Ost-in-Edhil;

"Out of doubt, out of dark to the day's rising we came singing in the sun, swords unsheathing. To hope's end we rode and to heart's breaking: Now for wrath, now for ruin and a red nightfall!"

Or, perhaps more appropriate for our guild's age requirement, the following quote might better apply.

"Death, death, death! Death take us all!" LOL!

Whoah Grond, there must be a poet buried deep down within you...

That is great, a little pathetic maybe, but great anyway... *thumbs up*

That is great, a little pathetic maybe, but great anyway... *thumbs up* Well, Walter... If I'm a good poet, I have yet to show it. All I've done thus far, is plagiarize the words of the late, great JRRT. Both of these quotes were made by King Eomer in the Battle of Pelannor Fields. I but changed a few words here and there. :)

Enter the forum where the members remember black and white TV, and computers were the size of boxcars. We could get into a movie then for under a buck and still have enough left for popcorn and pop. God sometime I miss those days. :p
