Since my pole about Viggo as Aragorn did so well I couldn't resist doing another one similar to it.

I personally loved Cate Blanchett as Galadriel. She had the most captivating eyes and she looked ageless and yet not young. Her voice was rich and calm and she looked fantastic with pointy ears. LOL. Also, she was sooooo beautiful. Some people have told me that she is not beautiful enough, but do tell me, who would have been?

Anyway, let me know what you think.

In all honesty, I pictured Galadriel as a little more beautiful than Cate Blanchett, but I also believe that the beauty of the Elf Queen has nigh impossible standards for us humans to meet. Although, call me crazy, but if Faith Hill could act, I would have cast her as Galadriel, because she must be the most beautiful women I have ever seen. But don't get me wrong, Blanchett is a beautiful women, as well as a great actress, and I still thought she did a great job. Although, as I've said in this forum before, I thought that Blanchett looked better out of elvish makeup.

Oh, I thought Orlando Bloom was a fairly good actor. Especially since this was his first film out of acting school. Although, there is always room for improvement.

I think Cate Blanchett was excellent as Galadriel bothj in physique and acting, but I didn't like her voice. It sounded fake and overdone.

I think Cate did a great job, people would have complained no matter who was cast for the role. Some find her very beautiful, and some not!
I mean, i cant think of anyone else right now that i would have liked to see playing Galadriel.

But i have to agree with Rúmil about her voice, it was a little to much.

I have no complaints about the other actors, Lee is perfect as Saruman, and Sean Bean is great as Boromir. And the rest is good to.

I went with 'I didn't really like her'.
Not that I can think of anyone I'd have preferred, and I think she did a reasonable job of it. I'm probably biased because of the mirror scene, which I hated. I also felt she was a little too cold and emotionless.

IMO, she did a good job, it just wasn't 'my' Galadriel. And indeed the whole appearance of Lothlorien was too cold and unfriendly. It could have been better.

I suppose that I would think the same thing except for the fact that I have collected a lot of beautiful pics of Loth Lorien and Lady Galdriel with the sun shining and a lovely setting. So I love Galadriel!

She's a versatile actor, isn't she? Not many people get the chance to act as an elven queen. Well, i loved her as Galadriel. She has the beauty that the role deserved. That kind of beauty isn't common, you know.

her voice was a bit overdone. and she was kinda too pale...even for an elf. to much make-up in my opinion. i just didn't think she "looked" like galadriel. i would give her an 8.5. and i liked liv as arwen. she looked like what i had pictured arwen to look like. i would give her at least a 7.

Everyone keeps complaining about Galadriel's voice. I loved it. I mean it was a bit strange at parts, but I thought it was wise and gentle especially when Frodo is remembering her and her gift. Her voice sounds so full of hope and peace.
