The Sacred Stones

OK! Well, I'm FINALLY going to start a new RP. It's called The Sacred Stones. It takes place in an area called Kaixan. There is a legendary collection of stones, three of them that came originally from the Mountains, Lake and Forest. They were collected long ago and were kept together in a sacred area in a particular arangment. The reason for this is because, when assembled, these stones keep all dark elements sealed away. But one day these stones were stollen by a pack of greedy dwarves. The stones were too powerful for them to posses, so when they tried to use their magic, the stones were released and each returned to it's original location. Now there are dark things set loose in the land, and a party is needed to find those stones and return them to thier rightful place. A council of Elves gathered in Siannodel, a popular city in Kaixan, seeing as the area hasn't many cities and is not very big. The elves decided they needed a party to find theses stones. They called a meeting of all types of creatures from all places. Elves, dwarves, hobbits, men, ect. When the story was told, The leader of the Council stood up. "We need to find a group that is willing to find the stones and bring them to the city of Xiloscient where they were assembled. Who will go on this quest?"

IC: An elf in the back of the room stands. "I will go. I know a lot about the Stones, and I know this land well. Allow me to join in this quest! My name is Valanthe Liadon, and this party would not be complete without me!" Valanthe walks up to the front of the room and stands as the Leader of the Council nods in approval.

Goldie was listening to Valanthe's tale with rapt attention. as soon as phenix volenteerd to join, Goldie timidly spoke up, "i would love to go with you. it sounds exciting."

Magic: yes. it gives him enhanced strength in fighting and endurance. he can sense evil and also has strong healing powers. He is also resistant to magic, i.e. if someone tries to turn him in to something or hold him still with magic they will have to be very powerful and use a lot of energy to do so.his sword (Aicanáro) is also magical. it will never break or grow dull. It is one of the sharpest swords ever made. and it will shine with a blue/white flame in his wrath or grow dim in his despair. It also guides it's blade towards evil while in combat and shies away from allies.
Weapon: sword, Bow, two daggers, five throwing knives.
Appearance: is average in height for a Elf, has Long gold/brown hair. blue eyes. he is usually dressed in light elven mail covered with a elven cloak (like the ones of Lothlorien) or completely in black.
Personality: Good sense of humor, is normally light-hearted though he can be a very serious person when he needs to be. He is always to trusted, likes to take leadership, is easy going. and almost always keeps his cool.
History he was born sometime around year 3000 Second Age. His parents where both killed in the wars with Souron. After his parents death Cirdan took him as his own son and tot him every thing he could. As time past he was found to be very trustworthy and stouthearted and so was given the name Sandaórë. He also became the most skilled Elf in fighting that Cirdan had yet seen. Until this time he rarely left the Havens except when he was needed else where, but he now has grow weary of the Havens and left to try his hand in the world.

The Leader of the council looks at Goldberry and replies. "Please come along, we need all the help we can get." Then he looks at Valanthe, Phenix and Goldberry and turns to the audiance. Looking around the audiance he says: "Are there no more who will join them?" Then his focus turns to Galdor expectently.

[Galdor]

*Galdor walks up to the Leader of the Council bows slightly and says..*

I shall join you in your quest if you will have me. I would have spoken sooner, but I was deep in thought, as to how are we to go about finding the Stones? Who shall lead us? And how soon shall we leave?

[ILLOTRTM]

The Leader of the Council replies: You shan't be in need of leadership, for you are all worthy of the task. As for when you should leave, that should be immeadiatly. Come this way.
He leads them all to a room in the back as the audiance is dissmissed by another elf. When they are alone in the room, he lays out a map in the middle of the table. It is a map of Kaixan. In the farthest southwest area there is a city labled Siannodel- there current location. To the east there is a body of water labled Miaku Lake. A ways north of the lake is a set of mountains labled Moritop Mountains. And to the northwest of the mountains is a green area labled Gianue Forrest. Around the map there are several small towns and lakes. And almost directly east of the Mountains is Xiloscient- the ancient cities in wich the stones belong.
(I drew a map of this, but I guess it was to big to post, and I couldn't figure how to make it small enough.)
"The three stones are located in the Mountains, Forrest, and Lake. In each, there is a small chamber built representing where each stone was originally located. The stones have returned to those chambers, but along with them went many evil things that they were protected by before. Once you have collected the stones, many things will be after you to take them back, so you must work quickly. Xiloscient is a deserted city with a great temple in the center. In the temple is a Sacred Circle, from wich we have discovered most evil things come to Kaixan. if you arrange the stones the correct way in the temple, your task will be complete. I cannot go with you for I must keep the citizens here calm."
When he finishes his story, Valanthe speaks up. "Well, I suppose we must think of a route to take. Any ideas?"

OOC about the map....if you turn it into a jpeg instead of a bmp it should fit. (if you have Paint) open the file in paint, go to file, save as, and where it says "save as type" scroll down and click on "JPEG File Interchange Format" and save. then it should be small enough to post.....hope that works for ya. (unless, of course, you already tried that...)

Goldie listens in awe, wondering at the story. however, she is a fighter, and not a plotter, so she waits for other ideas before she starts to think of her own.

*Galdor sudies the map for a while and then replies.*

I'd say go strait to the Lake and from there go to the Forrest then to the Mountains. From there go to the city place the stones and then come back here. It seems to be the fastest route to me. What do you guys think?

wouldnt it be best to do the mountain first, then forest then lake? otherwise, the people who will be chasing us will be able to isolate us on the top of a mountain, if worse comes to worse.

I see you point Goldberry. But the trip would much longer that way which would give our enemies much more time to make attacks against us.

true. we could plan it so that not all of us went to get the stone and some stood guard near the mountain. however, i think that your plan is best, and we can deal with details further on. ill aggree with your plan. are there others?

I think that way looks like a swift path... I agree with it. So, is that the path we take?

Oh, I got a map! It's a rough map, and a very bad one, but there is a reason I'm not in the guild of artists!

Leader of the council: "I think you should leave immeadiatly. And take your horses with you! You must make good time. Come!"
He leads everyone outside to where the horses are tied up. Valanthe mounts her horse.
Leader of the council: "Move quickly, and do not stop during the day if you can help it. Try not to travle at night, and put off stopping for as long as possible. The quickest way to the lake is in the direction that the sun rises. You may stop in towns if you seek information, an inn, or food, but don't be quick to trust anyone. I will give to you a map. Now be off! And don't look back!" The Leader of the Council hands the map to Valanthe, her being the nearest one to him. She nods and turns her horse to the east. "Let us be off, friends! Onward, Mardnab!" She cries, and her midnight-black horse starts off at a sow but steady pace as Valanthe waits for her friends to catch up.

Magic: Yes, this elf has the power to change the colors of his clothing and of his skin to match his surroundings. They call it the cameleon effect.
Weapons: One long black saber, and a huge longbow that is about 6'7'' with runes up and down it.
Home: Originally in the Gianue forest in the lofty tree homes, but his home and nearly all of his race was annihilated by mysterious creatures.
Fighting Style: Stealth, while the rest of the party may be walking through the forest they will not see him because his is moving camoflauged in the trees above them.
Skills: The ability to build a house in the trees, also has the ability to move from tree to tree like a flying squirrel. Extensive knowlege of the Gianue forest.

As the party begins to depart from the town a shadowy figure emerges from the trees. " I wish to join your party", he says. I will help you with your quest as long as you will help me fulfill my grudge against the shadows of the Gianue forest. The party looks at the elf skeptically, it is hard to make out his outline, it almost looks like he is fading in and out, changing colors extremely rapidly. Finally his clothing stabilizes into a solid green.

[Galdor]

*Galdor turned his horse quickly as the shadowy figure emerged from the trees, and had a throwing knife in his even before he began to talk. Once the elf finished talking Galdor lowered his knife and said to the others*

I don't sense any evil in him, and I believe he means good. Should we take him?

[Phenix]

Phenix jump up on his horse Nightmare " shure...we need al the help we can get".

"I dont know....what is this grudge he speaks about. we may want to know more about it before we aggree to his terms." Goldberry whispers to the others.

She walks her horse over to the elf. "What do you hold against the shadows of the Gianue forest? If we aggree to your charges, what peril lies there?"

[ILLOTRTM]

Valanthe dismounts and puts a hand on Mardnab's chest. Her breathing is steady while looking at this new stranger. Valanthe decides that he is not to be afraid of. Valanthe had also lived in the Gianue forrest for a short while. If this new elf knew the lands around the area, he could be of great help. Valanthe listens for him to answer while handling a green pendant around her neck.

"his eyes begin to glow red" Eerie feeling sets over everyone

The shadows used to live in the caves surrounding our beloved homeland. Our legends say that they were confined to the caves by a strange force emanating from three stones. Then one dreary moonless night the force was broken and the shadows came forth carrying weapons of black. They have the shape of men but they are like no men you will ever meet. They are colored pure ebony, so it is all but impossible to see them. After they were released they stormed through our forests. No human or elven eye can see them in the dark you must sense them. They came in the thousands moving stealthly thorough the forest, they slew our sentries, and then set upon our homes while we were at unawares. Then a slaughter ensued like no other, I fought until there was none by my side and then barely escaped with my life because of a special ability I have with my skin. These shadows shun the light and usually stay in their caves at night but an evil darkness has descended upon the forest and there is little light left. If we go into these forests they will most likely sense us at once their eyes can pierce darkness but not light, and they have an uncanny sense of smell.

[Nonix Dark]

Nonix is riding on his big black lion with black angelwings on its back. on the way he see several men on horses riding from the town. Nonix start riding towards them.

" and how are we gona help you whit that" Phenix ask
then he turn aroun to ask the oders something and see a big black lión whit angelwing. "hey what the heck is that"

IC: Valanthe mounts Mardnab again and rides over next to the elf who just joined them, not paying much attention to the approaching newcommer. "I think you can aid us in our quest. Tell me, what is your name?"

*Galdor turns away from the green elf and rides up along side Phenix, still holding the throwing knife ready in his right hand.*

Illidan quickly changes colors to match that of his surroundings and notches an arrow to point at the new comer, while doing this he responds to Phenix's comment. "Your weapons can cleave the flesh of the shadows if you can call if flesh, but if you don't feel up to the task maybe you should drop out now". Maybe the forests are to dank and dark for a high elf. 'Illidan then chuckles quietly to himself'

"Noting scarres me I'll follow you to teh woods and help you cleans It from the evil that has infected it." phenix replys as he rides nerer the new comer

*Out of no were you sense someone...something coming near.Then you hear a voice and as you turn to see were it is coming from you see an elf.All dressed in black.He approaches you as he speaks and you see that his sword is still seathed and that he doesn't look at all evil,but your attention is on his starlike eyes*

"Do not be allarmed...I mean no harm.I only wish to join you if I may...if you'll have me.It would be an honour to fight at your side..."

He was adept in martial arts,though he was better with the sword than with the bow.When he was about 100 years of age he left his people and never turned back. He went out seeking adventure.Now,none can tell of his wereabouts and many of his kin considere him dead

IC: "Well, it looks as if we are just being pelted with newcomers, eh?" Valanthe says with a smile. "Normaly I would be intersted in getting to know all of you, but we must make haste! If everyone agrees, I think we should get going."

Goldie calmly walks her horse over next to Valanthe and waits for the others to be ready to leave.

"ok... shuld we first g oto Tharivol and gather supply or shuld we go to the firt stone directly?" Phenix ask as he come's bak to the oders whit Nonix folowing.

"We'll probably want to get a head start on the stones, but supplies are an issue. I hope that everyone has what they'll need, and we can hunt and gather along the way...."

[Galdor]

*Galdor sheaths his knife and says*

Yes, let us make haste. We can get to know each other at wherever we stop to sleep.

[Elu Thingol]

Illidan takes out an old wooden flute and blows into it. There is no noise that comes from the flute, however, soon a large black panther emerges from the brush. "You called master", it mutters. Illidan quickly mounts its back and prepares to ride onward.

[Moriquende]

*You see Mordinen calling a horse,a grey warhorse, which comes out of the trees.He whispers sth to the horse's ear and then he mounts.He turns to you and he speaks*

"Cloud...and I are ready"

[Nonix Dark]

Nonix follows the group of men on their quest.
"so I've heard that you're searching for the sacred stones... interesting"

[Phenix]

"what do you know about them Nonix"

[ILLOTRTM]

Valanthe looks anxiously at the path ahead. "I hate to interupt." Valanthe cuts in "but we can meet and greet once we get to an Inn. It's quite a ways to the lake, and it's already late afternoon. I think we should head for Tharivol to look for an inn to stay the night."

[Goldberry344]

"I'm all for that plan. lead on!" Midnight wings neighs (for no apparent reason)

[ILLOTRTM]

"Then let's move out!" Valanthe takes of with a burst of speed, calling over her shoulder to her friends: "First one to Tharivol gets first hit at our enemies!"

[Phenix]

Phenix rides up besides Valanthe "that would be me then" he says as he speed up and gets infront of Valanthe.

[Goldberry344]

"No WAY!" Goldberry kicks Wings into a gallop and catches up with phenix

[Nonix Dark]

Nonix speeds up with his Blackwinged lion and flies over to Phenix and Goldberry "hehe... looks like I have a chance to win"

[Elu Thingol]

Illidan and his panther stealthly follow their companions without making a noise.

[Galdor]

Galdor's horse keeps up easily with the others

[Nonix Dark]

Nonix takes the lead and says to the others behind him

"hey come on... it's just too easy"

but suddenly Nonix hear a girls screaming from a far distance.

"what's that" one of them says

"I don't know but I'm going to find out" Nonix says and start flying on the back of his lion. after a short moment he see the girl laying on the ground being attacked by a big red dragon. Nonix speeds up and lands on the cliff with his lion. Nonix jumps of the lions back and runs down to the girl. Nonix grabs the girl and takes her away as the dragon shoot fire towards them. the lion flies down to Nonix and he take the girl on the lions back and they flies out of reach for the dragon.

the others are on their way there and Nonix yell at them

"hey... how about you kill the dragon and I'll take the girl out of here

[Galdor]

Galdor notches a arrow in his bow and waits to see what everyone is going to do.

*doesnt understand what happened*

Goldie quickly griped her reins in her teeth and loosened her bow. she knocked an arrow and continued to steer her horse with her knees.

[Elu Thingol]

Illidan quickly cloaks himself and loads five arrows into his bow and lets them fly straight at the dragons face. The dragon is caught off guard because he could not see the shooter. The arrows hit him full in the face. The dragon loses control and begins to fall towards the ground shooting a large ball of flame in the direction from which the arrows came. The flame lands next to Illidan knocking him of his mount. Gasping Illidan stands up blood dripping from his body. The dragon, now on the ground, stands up to its full height and lets a roar out with bursting flames. Illidan quietly unsheaths his black blade and waits for backup.

[Galdor]

Galdor quickly fires two arrows at the dragon, He then runs to Illidan's side and checks his wound. Seeing that it is not bad he draws his sword and prepares to attack with Illidan.

[Goldberry344]

Goldberry shoots her arrow into the dragon's eye, she knew this was the only soft spot she would be able to find at a glance, then she backed off a bit to get a better look at vulnerable spots. she shoots arrows up the dragon's nose and mouth, but nothing but his eyes seem to bother him, so she set to work making his eyes into pincushons.

[Phenix]

Phenix quikly take his bow and fires a cuple of arows against teh Dragons eyes but miss. then he ride forwards trying to hit his stomage whit a arow

[Moriquende]

Last but not least Mordinen approaches,dismounts and stands next to Illidian.He has his black bladed sword,Glindur, in his hand and ih his eyes is a strange light.The light of battle.He looks at Illidian and Galdor and then charges to slice the dragon in any spot he can find.He closes the dragon and he cuts off a big slice of flesh.The blood stains him but he doesn't feel anything because of the rage he's into.He continues to swing his sword cutting the dragon and yells at you for help as the dragon now turns to face him.

Seeing Mordinen attack, Galdor yells at Illidian to help and charges towards the dragon...

[Elu Thingol]

Illidan raises his black blade high above his head, and letting out a war cry speeds toward the dragon. Fire, blood, and ash stain the battle field as he crosses it. But soon Illidan joins Mordinen and Galdor in the hewing of the dragons scaly flesh.

[Galdor]

Galdor's sword, Aicanáro shines brightly with a blue flame as he battles with the dragon. He moves to the dragon's side to try and stab at it's soft underbelly. The dragon swings towards Illidan and Mordinen, exposing it's underbelly just long enough for Galdor to strike his blade deep into the dragon flesh. The dragon swings in pain toward Galdor, and shoots flame shoots towards him, and though he jumps aside he is still given a bad burn on one side. The dragon's tail then hits him throwing him far to the side. But it is now badly wounded. Galdor stumbles up and despite the burns on his side he rushes toward the dragon again.

[Elu Thingol]

Illidan seeing that Galdor is badly wounded quickly rushes to his side. The dragon is now trying to destroy him with its fireballs. Using unearthly agility Illidan manages to dodge and finally reaches Galdor's side. Quickly loading another five arrows into his bow Illidan launches a counter-attack....

[Elu Thingol]

The arrows glance off of its thick hide and the dragons temper becomes far greater than ever before. Galdor and Illidan quickly decide on a plan. Sticking to the plan Illidan twirls his large blade round and round until it is spinning extremely fast. He then lets go of the speeding blade which darts out of his hands and sinks deep into the dragons eye. The dragon wheels in pain. Illidan collapses in exhaustion, managing only to mutter the words "Attack Galdor"

[Phenix]

Phenix stays under the dragons head and fires 2 arows right in his throt.

[Nonix Dark]

Nonix and the girl jumps of the lion when they've reached the ground pretty far away.

"so whats your name?" Nonix ask her

"Claire" she replies.

"Claire... thats a beutiful name" Nonix say and she start giggeling

[Galdor]

Galdor sees the opportunity as the dragon thrashes is pain. He moves in quickly and stabs his sword up to the hilt in the dragons soft side he then grabs his daggers and stabs it multiple times in the side. The dragon thrashes around for another few minutes and then lies still. exhausted Galdor stumbles to Illidan and checks his wounds.

[Phenix]

as soon as Phenix has maked shore that everybody is taken care of he rides away to find Nonix

[Elu Thingol]

Illidan makes sure Galdor is ok and then heads over to the dragon. It's foul smell intoxicates the air but Illidan heads on. Dragon blood has been spewed all over the ground causing the grass to rot and die. Illidan walks over to the Dragon's head and reaches down and grabs his sword. The blade has penetrated deep into the membrane of the eye. He swiftly wrenches the blade from the flesh of the eye. Holding the blade, which is dripping with blood, above his head he lets out a loud victory cry.

[Moriquende]

Mordinen wipes off the blood from Glindur.He has bits of flesh and blood all over him but he doesn't seem to mind.He approaches Galdor and Illidian and thanks them for their aid.Then he joins Illidian at his victory cry.

[Nonix Dark]

"so... erm... whats your name?" Claire asks and gets all red in her face.

"me... I'm Nonix" Nonix replies

"erm... thanks for saving me"

"Hey... I can't let a cute girl as you get killed just like that. against my nature you know"

Claire looks at Nonix and her face is all red. Nonix looks back at her
*god she's pretty* Nonix thinks and all of a sudden she gives him a kiss.

"thanks again for saving me" she says and turns more red than before.

[Galdor]

*Galdor pulls his sword out from the dragons side, quietly says thanks to Elbereth. He then walks over to Illidian and Mordinen and says*

Come let us go to the others, we will tend to our wounds then.

[Phenix]

phenix rech the place where Nonix has landed: " hey Nonix we have killed the dragon... wow you luky bastard he says as he sees the beutyfull girl besides Nonix.

Goldie snorts at phenix. "and what do you think we'll do with her? she cant come along, and if she were a fighter she wouldnta been with the dragon."

Illidan looks at the others and then says, "This dragon blood is stickier than heck, I'm going to search for a stream to wash it off in. Anyone want to come?"

[Moriquende]

Mordinen turns to Illidian and he says

Yes I will join you

[Galdor]

A stream sounds good, lets go. If we find one it may be a good spot to camp as well.

[Goldberry344]

Goldie rides after the others in search of a stream, still wondering what they were going to do with the gir.

[Phenix]

after the other left Phenix turn to Nonix: "she's right you know we cant take her whit us."

[Nonix Dark]

"I know I know but..." Nonix says and then looks at Claire.
"I eh..." Nonix start then he turn to the others
"but can't we at least take her to the next town. I can't leave her out here by herself"

[Phenix]

"I guess that's ok but only to the Next Town" Phenix answers.

[Nonix Dark]

"thanx alot... " Nonix say

*snorts at nonix* at least shes only with us that far.....men tend to turn into such idiots when there's a maiden about....

"hmm you're right... but its in my nature... I can't help it... are you jealous??"

*snorts * "of her? no. i'd rather be a cow raised to slaughter than a useless maiden." *bows to the maiden from her saddle* "begging you pardon, ma'am."

(OOC: OMG you guys I'm SOOOO sorry I've been gone! My computer got messed up and.... long story short I had to reinstall everything so I've been off for a few weeks. My sincerest apologies! You've been doing well without me though.)
IC: Valanthe watches the three ride off and catches their conversation. She listens as Nonix makes the accusation of jealousy at Goldie and roles her eyes. But she sees Goldberry's point. Men ARE idiots around pretty women. Not that the same couldn't be said about girls...
"But I don't think that will happen to us." Valanthe says under her breath. But... you never know... that Phenix is quite the hottie....." And Valanthe bursts out laughing for several minutes straight.

[Nonix Dark]

"hehe" Nonix says... "but hey... still we men can be pretty nice persons"

[Phenix]

"I do but I'm not shurre about you.." Phenix say and ride out of range of nonix arm.

[Goldberry344]

"You're right, Valanthe, they can be ok....sometimes..." Goldie laughs and waits for Valanthe to catch up.

[Nonix Dark]

"and now I appear to be an idiot aswell"

Nonix then boost up in the air and start flying away

"see ya guys in the next town"

[ILLOTRTM]

"Well that was abrupt." says Valanthe, looking after Nonix. She takes a few steps on her horse and looks over at Goldie and Phenix with a gleam in her eye after seeing a small stream up ahead. "You know," Valanthe drawls slowly "we never did finish our little race before, did we?" She looks deeply at Goldie, in a dramatic sort of way, then let's her eyes linger on Phenix, her eyes daring him for the challenge. Then she whirls around, spurs her horse, and takes off for the stream at full blast, laughing the whole way.

[Phenix]

Phenix start riding whit full speed after Valanthe but turn around as the horse keep going " see ya later Goldberry... I'll be waiting whit nonix in the next Town" the second later he's lost behind a hill

[ILLOTRTM]

As they arrive in Tharivol, the companions find a town of people moving about on their own buisness, not too worried about anyone else. "I think we should find an inn to spend the night, darkness is coming." Valanthe wanders off to the nearest inn. "Moonrise Inn." Valanthe reads under her breath. She ties up Mardnab in the stable just outside the inn. "The rest of you may explore the town if you like." Valanthe says to the others. "I'm going to get us a room and figure out what we're doing tomorrow. You can join me when you're ready." Valanthe walks inside. There is a small man behind the counter. Valanthe asks him for a room for four and hands him some money. After getting the keys to the room, Valanthe heads up and goes in. It's a small room with four beds and few accesseries. Valanthe sits on the bed second over from the right. She lays the map in front of her on the bed and studies it for a few moments. Then she leans back on her bed and hopes one of her friends comes up soon.

[Galdor]

* After Galdor, Mordinen and Illidian had finished washing up in the stream and Galdor had healed them and himself, they all mounted up and started riding back to where the rest had been. when they got there and say that the others had left he said. "come they must have gone on to Tharivol, let us hurry for it will be dark by the time we get there, and must find where they have decided to stay the night." All three of them then start riding at a fast pace towards Tharivol.

[Nonix Dark]

Nonix is sitting on the ground crying over his dead Lion.

"Why did you... I never thought... you... I'll KILL YOU" Nonix screams so the whole town hears him. then he sees the others come to the town. Valanthe walks into the inn and some of the others start walking towards him...

"I'll never trust a woman again" he says to them and then he start walking out from the town to bury his lion.

[Phenix]

Phenix start runing after Nonix " what happened nonix?"

[Nonix Dark]

"she killed my Lion" Nonix says and keeps walking

[Phenix]

" I'm sorry...hmm you'll probubly wants to be alone so I go bak to the others" then he walks bak to the inn to see if Valanthe has find rooms in the inn.

[Nonix Dark]

as Nonix is outside of town he start digging a big hole on the ground. after a few hours the hole is done and he puts his lion in it. then he buries it. Nonix then start walking back to the inn. he meets Phenix in the hall as he walks to his own room

Goldie is confused, "NONIX! what in the name of middle earth happened?"

[Phenix]

"I'll go upp to my room I'm really tired" Phenix says and walks upp to the room.

[Nonix Dark]

"well... I thought I could trust her... but now I've realized that I couldn't... but I guess it's too late now... I HATE MYSELF. being such a... man" and a tear silently falls from Nonix cheek. "I'll never be that blind again... I promise"

[ILLOTRTM]

Valanthe is moved by the sincerity in his voice and stands up, looking directly at Nonix. "I'm so sorry for the loss of your lion. Don't blame yourself. You are not the first to lose something dear by the con of a pretty face." Valanthe cringes and looks down at the floor as painful memories are uncovered. Feeling tears burning at the corners of her eyes, Valanthe chokes them back and looks back up at Nonix. "I hope your recovery is a swift one." Suddenly she feels the tears coming back. Without another word, she walks quickly out of the inn and sits down just outside the inn, putting her face in her hands.

[Galdor]

It is dark by the time Galdor, Mordinen and Illidian ride into town. It will be hard to find the inn that the others are in, we will have to check each one as we go. Galdor said to Illidain and Mordinen. just then he spotted Valanthe sitting outside a inn crying. He jumps off his horse quickly and runs to her. When he reaches her he kneels down beside her and places his hand on her shoulder and ask. What has happened Valanthe? Are you hurt? where are the others?

[Goldberry344]

Goldie tries to help nonix too, "There was no way you could have known anything about her, especially after you saved her. its not your fault"

She gets up and sits at a table to read her book.

[ILLOTRTM]

Valanthe is startled by Galdor's touch. She quickly wipes the tears from her eyes, but, knowing her former nickname, knows they had shown themselves. "Uhh.... Galdor... I... I'm sorry, I didn't see you coming. I'm fine... really." Valanthe says, knowing that is one of the biggest lies she has ever told, but now is not Valanthe's time to greive over her own losses. "Something auwful has happened to Nonix, though." Valanthe proceeds to tell Galador about Nonix's Lion and Claire. When she is finished, Valanthe looks up at Galdor directly, waiting for his reply.

[Galdor]

After listening to Valanthe Galdor looks at her gravely and replies,

You have not told me all, for I know you were crying for reasons other then Nonix's lion. If you ever want to talk about whatever it is, I will do what I can to help, even if it simple is being someone to talk to. But come, how is Nonix holding up? His lions death is partly my fault, I could have prevented it if I had paid more attention. I should have sensed that Claire was evil, but I was paying to much attention to the dragon, I will have to be more careful in the future. Does Nonix know why she did it? And could the whole dragon thing have simple been a setup?

[ILLOTRTM]

Valanthe replies: "That has indeed crossed my mind, but I cannot say for sure. I feel terrible for Nonix, but I think he will be alright, I beleive he is in the common room with Goldberry now, and Phenix has gone upstairs. I can see that tonights sky will be a beautiful one, I think I will go out back and try to clear my mind, it has been a stressful day." Valanthe rises, walking towards the back of the inn. Just before she dissapears behind the wall, she turns and looks at Galdor. "I would like to talk to someone sometime, for you are right, there are some greivious things that are my own. Perhaps we could talk.... later tonight? Well, I'll be out back if it crosses your mind." Valanthe turns and heads out back where she seats herself on a bench looking up at the moon.

[Galdor]

Galdor stood deep in thought for a minutes before turning and following Illidian and Mordinen to the stables. after they had there horses stabled entered the inn and ordered the room next to the one the others had gotten. After taking his things to his room he walked back down stairs and sat down beside Nonix.

I'm sorry about your lion. he said, but it's not your fault. Do you know of any reason why she killed you lion? And do you know whether the dragon was a setup or was she really in trouble?

[Nonix Dark]

"well... I eh... don't really know why... she just... did it" Nonix says and looks down at the table. " but I recall one thing she said" Nonix looks at Galdor "she said something like... you men are all the same. foolish creatures"

Nonix gets up on his feet. "I hope you guys aren't mad at me or something for being that stupid"

[Galdor]

Galdor stood up and replied to Nonix

"None of us are mad at you Nonix, there was no way you could have know. You must be careful of giving out your trust to freely, but you must also be careful of guarding it to closely and not trusting anyone. That girl worries me, I think we should post a guard tonight."

Looking at Nonix tired face he then said

"go get some rest Nonix. tomorrow we will have to find you a horse. I'm truly sorry about your lion."

Galdor then walked out of the inn and went around back to where Valanthe was sitting. Looking up at the stars he said.

"Even after thousands of years on this earth they still never cease to amaze me."

[ILLOTRTM]

A smile played at the corners of Valanthe's mouth. "I know exactly what you mean." Valanthe takes a moment and swallows hard. "Nonix isn't the first in this party to be swayed by a pretty face. I'm from Rivendell, originally. I had an older brother, Thamior. Just after I was born, my parents died. Thamior raised me until I was old enough to take care of myself. Then we moved to Mirkwood. Thamior was a very important and rich person there." Valanthe takes a moment and breaths deeply. "I met an elf there named Aust. After a little while, Aust came to visit me more and more. I fell for him after a while. Thamior told me that... that he didn't trust Aust. That he thought Aust was after something more. Of course, I didn't listen to my brother. I continued to see Aust. He had a nickname for me. Tears of the moon, for obvious reasons. One day, Aust poisened Thamior. It's all my fault. He used me to get to Thamior because he was jealous of his power and money. I should have listened..." Valanthe finishes as a single tear drops onto her cheek.

[Galdor]

Galdor sat down beside her and replied

"I am sorry, his betayal and your brother's murder must have been very hard on you, but you must not blame yourself for it, love to often blinds people to the truth. How long ago was this?"

[Nonix Dark]

Nonix is standing next to the door listening to Valanthes story about her brother. "I guess I'm not the only one. I feel sorry for Valanthe... this is just too sad"

Nonix then walks into a room and lays down on a bed to get some sleep.

[Phenix]

when Nonix walks into the room Phenix turn around..." nonix...I*m terribly sorry...how're you felling...

[ILLOTRTM]

"It's been about two years now. They cought Aust and locked him up, but that does nothing to justify what he did to my brother.... and I." Valanthe wipes the tears from her eyes and looks at Galdor. "I really appreciate your listening to me in my time of need."

[Nonix Dark]

"I'm not feeling too good but a little rest might be it" Nonix says and start walking into the room. he turns around to Phenix before he goes in "thanx for your concern"

[Galdor]

Do not be shamed by your tears, for there is nothing wrong with crying for the loss of one close to you. And I cannot imagine how painful Aust's betrayal must have been to you.

Galdor and Valanthe talked until the night became late. At which time Galdor stood up and said.

"It is getting late, you should go get some rest. That girl worry's me, I believe we should set a guard on both the stables and our rooms. Illidian and I will take the first sift."

Galdor and Valanthe walked back to there rooms, Galdor entered his room and changed into clothing as black as night so none could see him. He then woke up Illidian and told him to guard there rooms. Walking out to the stables, he stepped into the shadows where none could see him.

[ILLOTRTM]

The night passes, and nothing out of the ordinary happens. After stocking up on supplies, the companions set out. In a few hours they have made it to Miaku Lake.

"Well, here we are. There is a small temple around here somewhere where we can find the Saphire of the Water, the first stone. What do you all propose we do?"

[Elu Thingol]

Illidan ponders for a few minutes and then says, "I talked with some of the townspeople and they told me that a hermit lives near this lake. Supposedly, he knows something about the temple and its location. However, I recommend extreme caution, they say there were some rumors about him being some sort of powerful sorcerer. I do not know if this would be the best route but it would be a start. "

[Phenix]

"sounds like a god plan to me... we should split up and seach for this heremit"

[ILLOTRTM]

"Right, don't go too far. We'll meet back here in an hour if nothing is found." Valanthe starts off in one direction and looks for any sign of a temple or the hermit's home.

[Phenix]

Phenix walks away followed by Nonix both looking for the same as valanthe

[Galdor]

Galdor calls to the others to stop and then says. "I feel the present of a large number of evil creatures near by. Lets search in twos, Phenix and Nonie can go together, Illidan and Mordinen can go together, I'll go with Valanthe and Goldberry can go with whichever group she want to. Lets go!"

[ILLOTRTM]

"That was a good idea." Valanthe says as Galdor walks over to her as they start searching. "I'm a little worried about this area." Valanthe and Galdor walk down towards the lake. Valanthe kneels down by the waters edge and dips her hand in, the clear water reminding her of her home in Rivendell. Suddenly, out of the corner of her eye, Valanthe catches a glimps of a large black figure moving quickly through the woods around the lake. Valanthe draws and fits an arrow to her bow as a loud thud is heard. "What in Middle-Earth is that?"

[Goldberry344]

Goldberry had followed Valanthe, and she drew her sword in alarm at the noise. "I havent a clue" she whispers.

[ILLOTRTM]

Valanthe walks slowly and silently over to the trees and looks around. "Well, whatever it was, it's gone now. Stay alert! There are many things prowling this area now..... is that a building?" she says, noticing a large ominous structure a ways ahead of her.

[Elu Thingol]

Illidan and Moraine move out heading towards the north side of the lake. After nearly 3 hours they approach an old run down shack. An ancient looking man with barklike skin and a cedar staff stands near the doorway. "Tremble or die foul scum!", screams the morbid foe. At the sound of his voice the ground begins to shake.

[ILLOTRTM]

The three step closer to the building. It's large, blue has a wooden door and two Gargoyles on either side. Valanthe, thinking she should get in before anything comes, dashes up towards the door. with her sword in front og her, ready in case. When she's about three yards away from the door, she is blown backwards, her sword flying out of her hands, the blade hitting her shoulder. "It... it's a forcefeild." she says sitting up and cutting off her long sleeve on her left are so she can see the wound. it's bleeding quite a bit. "We... we need to find that hermit and get more information. Come on." Valanthe stands and starts walking, but immeadiatly falls to her knees, clutching her arm. "I'm all right... don't worry..."

[Galdor]

"Like heck your all right." Galdor said as walked up to her side. "Your not going anywhere until I heal this." Placing his hand on her wound he whispered a few words, and when he removed his hand the wound had completely disappeared. "There, that didn't take too long now did it? Only a fool blunders around with a bad wound in their shoulder and tries to claim there fine even as they fall on their face. especially when there is a master healer right beside them."

[Elu Thingol]

Illidan stares defiantly back into the livid eyes of the now furious hermit.
"YOU DARE TRESPASS" "YOU DARE TO FORSAKE THIS HOLY GROUND!!!!". With that said the hermit throws off his cloak and stands tall. "I am the ancient sorcerer Kalad-Thumaz anyone who sets foot on the ground I was sworn to protect will die." Illidan draws his black blade quickly in response to the sudden outburst. The sorcerer chuckles and gestures with his staff. The weapons are instantly wrenched from the hands of Illidan and Mordinen, and before they have time to react they begin to levitate in the air held motionless. "Are there others?" Kalad inquiries. "Yes!" they immediatley answer, compelled by some unknown force. Kalad shrugs, "Kill them", he says. Mordinen and Illidan both fall to the ground and in curiously mechanical movements they stand up, then they pick up their weapons and silently walk away. What deeds they plan to accomplish are clearly evident.

[ILLOTRTM]

Valanthe looks back down at her arm. Blushing a bit, she says to Galdor: "Sorry, guess I'm just a bit impulsive." Standing up and looking around, she notices Illidan and Mordinen (OOC: Where did he go, anyway?) walking towards them with a sense of urgency. "....What's wrong with them? They seem like.... like they're in a trance or something.." Valanthe puts her hand on the hilt of her sword, though she is very frightened, for if they were under a spell and under evil command, even still, Valanthe knew she couldn't hurt one of her friends. Valanthe now looks at Goldberry, then Galdor to see what their reactions are.

[Phenix]

Phenix and Nonix hears a loud vois not far away so the goes up on a hill, from there they sees Mordinen and Illidan walking " hey found anything!!" Phenix shouts towards them...

[ILLOTRTM]

Valanthe looks up at the hill, hearing Phenix call. Illidan and Mordinen walk straight on, but turn at the last minute up the hill towards Phenix and Nonix. They look like robots. "What the... ?" Valanthe mutters out loud, her grip on her sword tightening.

[Phenix]

Phenix turns to Nonix..." they look strange get youre weopon ready" Phenix take his to bow and loads it whit one arow but points it towards the ground

[Galdor]

Seeing Mordinen and Illidan turn towards Phenix and Nonix, Galdor quickly draws his two daggers and runs up the hill to them. moving with unnatural speed Galdor reaches them, and before they can react hits them both hard on the back of there heads with the hilts of his daggers knocking them out instantly. Galdor turns and sees the shocked look on the faces of Goldie and Valanthe, and as they walk up the to him he says. "It was necessary, they are both skilled fighters and it would be very dangerous to try and disarm them, and I didn't want to wake them from there trance with magic unless I had too. When I wake them they won't even have a headache." Once Galdor had woken them up, and all had heard their tale he said. "come, let us go back to the Hermit. I will use my power to surround us in a field that will dissipate all magic he tries to use on us. But we must stay close together, for the smaller a field I have to create the better. Illidan, lead the way, lets go!"

[ILLOTRTM]

Valanthe follows the group, still feeling a bit shaken. Walking up next to Galdor, she whispers to him: "You're having all the good ideas on this little expedition, aren't you?"
After walking for a little while, the companions reach the hermits house. "Now what are we to do, Galdor?"

[Nonix Dark]

"well... I'd say I stay out here and wait for you guys" Nonix says and walks over to a tree and sits down next to it.

[ILLOTRTM]

Valanthe grins as Nonix sits under the tree. "Coward." She whispers, looking back at Galdor expectantly.

[Phenix]

"i'll say we charge him..." Phenix says he cant get all of us"

[ILLOTRTM]

"I don't know how well that would work" Valanthe replies, turning to Phenix. "You saw what he did to Illidan and Mordinen, he worked that mind controll thing. Who knows what other powers he may posses? I say we use magic. I know a time freeze spell, but it only lasts a few minutes. It may not give us enough time to restrain him or anything, but it may be worth a try.... any other ideas?"

[Phenix]

"well i dont know... how many here have magic abilitys??...I can only shift shape...but not for long"

[Galdor]

"Have you forgotten already? I am dissipating all magic in a large area around us, so we don't have worry about magic. Illidan and Mordinen have been here before so ask them." smiling Galdor turned to Nonix and said, "I like Nonix's idea" He then walked over to the tree and sat down besides Nonix.

[ILLOTRTM]

Valanthe looks at the two "Well, what can you tell us?"

[Elu Thingol]

Illidan looks gravely at his friends and then says,"What we are dealing with here is beyond any of us." I still do not know if this foe is indeed evil. If Galdor can get us up to the sorcerer in his magic shield we may be able to reason with the sorcerer. However, if Kalad is innately evil we mave some serious trouble on our hands.

[ILLOTRTM]

"I see... well, Galdor, is your spell ready? If so, what exactly are you proposing we say to the guy?"

[Galdor]

"I have been mantaning the shield ever since we were within visulal distants from the hermits house. And as to what we will say to him, I guess we should just tell him what we're trying to do and then just wing it from there."

[Nonix Dark]

"so that's what you're going to do huh... well I missed that part... but still I like this tree"

[ILLOTRTM]

"Alright....... let's go. Get this over with." Valanthe walks up and knocks on the door, feeling very akward.

( OOC: Elu Thingol, could I ask you to be IC of the hermit? You made him up.)

[Phenix]

Phenix get down on one of his knees Pointing the bow against the door
" just inn case" he says

[Galdor]

Galdor gets up from the tree and walks to up to Valanthe and Phenix. He draws one of his throwing knives and holds it in his hand so it can be thrown quickly but can't be seen from the front. Looking at the others still standing a little ways behind him he called, " My shield does not extends that far, so you might want to get up here closer to me if you don't want to be susceptible to the hermit's magic."

[ILLOTRTM]

Valanthe walks up close behind Galdor. She thinks to draw her bow, but perhaps she should remain... unarmed. Looking like more of... an embassador. Then her thoughts are interupted as the door creeks open....

[Nonix Dark]

*what am I thinking?? I can't just sit here and do nothing* Nonix thinks for himslef then he gets up on his feet. draws his sword and walks over to the others...

"count me in whatever you're going to do"

[Elu Thingol]

Everyone approaches the house silently, warely glacing at the door. When they are just about to the entrance the door opens and a kindly looking old man appears. "Come in, come in", he exclaims," I haven't had vistors in so long." "Wait a second!" " You just attacked us two seconds ago." The old man looks suprised and a dark shadow passes over his eyes, "Oh yes I do tend to get aggressive now and then, but it passes."
Everyone is shocked. Illidan pauses, not sure what to think, and then walks through the doorway.

[Phenix]

Phenix lowers his bow and look at the others

[Nonix Dark]

Nonix is standing in the back of the group and hardly sees what happens but as Phenix lowers his bow Nonix lowers his sword aswell

[Galdor]

Galdor sheathed his knife as the old man led them into a room and ask them to sit down while he went to get everyone some tea. After the old man was out of earshot he said, "I sense no evil in this old man, so I don't understand why he would have attacked Illidan and Mordinen like he did. It's almost like.... like he was under a spell or something. That would explain why I feel no evil in this man, but now we come to the question of who bewitched him and why? Could there be someone else on there way to the Stone even as we speak?"


OOC: Does anyone know what happened to Mordinen? He hasn't posted in like a month. Should we run into some bad guys on our way back to the temple or something and have him get killed?

[Phenix]

Ooc: well we can think he was killed so if he desides to show upp he can just show upp whit a dramatic entrace.

[ILLOTRTM]

OOC: I asked about Mordinen earlier.... I don't like to have people die, but I'll do this in case he wants t come back: We'll say he had gotton word from home (I dunno where that is.) that he was needed there, so he left right before we went to the hermit's place. Everyone cool with that?

IC: Valanthe looks at Galdor, it suddenly dawning on her that this could be true. "I don't know... what if this IS a problem.... but we can't just go running back to that forcefeild... *glances down at her torn sleeve* .....
The old man then returns with the tea. "Thank you very much. Um, I was wondering.... sir.... could you tell us anything about.... the temple, on the other side of the lake?" She asks with a slight hesitation.

[Elu Thingol]

The hermit's eyes seem to glaze over once again. I know nothing about such a place now lets have some food shall we? Illidan looks at the others, "I sense something very powerful in this house, I..I..I can't explain it.""We NEED TO GET OUT NOW!"

[Phenix]

Phenix don't stay to argu but run out of the house " wy did we do that Illidan" he ask

[Galdor]

Galdor grabbed the old man and dragged him out behind the others disspite his protext. "I felt it to, a powerful evil is in that house. Some of us should stay here with the old the man, but I think that I and two others should go back in the house and figure this out."

[Elu Thingol]

Once everyone is out of the house, two members turn to go back in. "NO!", the old man screams. The sorcerer is still in there. When you come back out of that house you would be trying to kill us. He controls the minds of all.

[ILLOTRTM]

"Hmm.... well, this is a problem. Let's see... well, let's sort of analyze this. We're at Miaku Lake, our first destination. We've found the chamber that contains the Saphire of Water, our first stone. Unfortunatley, we can't get in because of the forcefeild. We've found someone who could maybe help us, but his house is under a spell of mind control.... there's obviously a sorcorer involved... well, we have a thin list of options. We can either find a way to neutralize the spell and take on this sorcorer, or we can try to get to the chamber first and find another way in.... or something... well, any ideas?"

[Phenix]

"well we could always burn teh house..."

[ILLOTRTM]

"Haha, if only that was an option. We can't burn the house because A. I'm sure that he could counter that some how, and B. this is the old man's home! If we burn it, what would he do? Hmmm, what are we gonna do..."

[Galdor]

"Let us all go back into the house and find the sorcerer. I can protect us from his magic, and we should not leave such a powerful evil sorcerer like him loose."

[ILLOTRTM]

".... hmmmm, I think you're right, Galdor, but someone has to stay here with the old man..... You guys go ahead in, I'll stay with him. Best of luck!" Valanthe watches the others as they enter the house and hopes that no one else has been to the chamber. She crouches down next to the man who is sitting on the ground. "What is your name?"

[Elu Thingol]

"Let's do this" Illidan readies himself and waits for the others.

[Phenix]

sudently a messenger arives... " master Phenix... master Phenix... you must come home quikly" he says " waht what has happened?" " it's your father he is very ill" " ok I'll com" Phenix turns to thre others " I'm really sorry but i must go" tehn he rode away home to his family

[Nonix Dark]

"hey I'll go tell him one thing or another" Nonix says and walks into a room where he find a stair down to the basement. downstairs its all dark and Nonix start walking down. when he's down he looks around in the dark without seeing anyone. but suddenly he feels something breathing on his neck. its really cold Nonix turns around and the sorcerer grins at him. Nonix draws his sword in order to cut the sorcerer but before he did he felt something went right through his body spreading alot of pain.

"ah... eh... th... this... h...hu...hurt..s..." and Nonix falls dead on the ground.

[ILLOTRTM]

OOC: What the.... is everyone leaving or something? Sorry, Phenix, hope to see you back later. But Nonix... did you die.. or did you want us to resurect you or something???

[Galdor]

Galdor calls after Nonix to stop, but he walks into the house anyway. Turning to the others he says, "Valenthe, you and the hermit go a little ways into the woods and hide. Illidan and I will go back into the house, get Nonix and find the sorcerer."

[ILLOTRTM]

OOC: Well, let's see what comes of this.

IC: Valanthe watches the others go into the house as she takes the hermit into the woods. Looking through the trees, she tries to see what is going on inside.

[Elu Thingol]

Suddenly, the house explodes, flame and ash fly through the air, and the hermit's hut is no more. All that is left is a large circle where the house once stood and the body of Nonix. The sorcerer smiles at them and lifts Nonix above his head. He begins muttering some kind of incantation, and turns to the travelers. "Those who do not wish to serve me in life, will serve me in death!". Illidan quickly launches five arrows at the sorcerer's head but they are quickly reflected off of some sort of bubble that has now formed around him. Illidan takes a step back, "I....I..." is all he can mutter.

[Galdor]

Galdor rases his hand and a shockwave flys out from it towards the sorcerer. When it hits him the bubble dissapates, leaving the sorcerer defenceless. Galdor cries for for Illidan to shoot him, hearing Galdor's cry, Illidan reaches down and grabs another arrow....

[ILLOTRTM]

Valanthe watches in shock of what is going on. She draws her sword and watches anxiously as Illidan draws another arrow...

[Elu Thingol]

Illidan nervously notches a arrow into his great bow. Whispering an incantation the arrow suddenly ignites with a blue flame. The arrow springs from the bow flying straight at the sorcerer. And it strikes true, the arrow pierces the sorcerer through the heart and consumes him in blue flame at the same time. The sorcerer is no more, however, what is this? Nonix's body begins to rise, and then it stands up, healthy and living. Then speaking in Kalad's voice Nonix says, "Fools you can not destroy me that easily, however, you have indeed proved yourselves a worthy match and I must depart." Then turning quickly he flees into the forests.

OOC: I'm assuming Nonix has left the RPG

[ILLOTRTM]

OOC: Oh on... I think he did. And what happened to Goldie? OMG everyone's LEAVING ME!!!! :(

IC: Valanthe stands where she is, not knowing what to do.

[Elu Thingol]

OOC: Don't worry I'm going to stay right here:)

Illidan turns to the old man. What is going on here? "Hurry he yells, we must get to the stone? That sorcerer belongs to an order of evil which is also trying to collect all of the stones. He may have friends that are fast approaching!"

[Galdor]

"Well there's nothing we can do about that sorceror now. We might as well hurry up and get to the stone while we can. I'm guessing that the force field was being maintaned by the sorceror, which means that it should be down for awhile, all the more reason to hurry up and get there before he recreates it. And I doubt that they are trying to take the stones, rather I should think they are just trying to keep others from getting them. Which means we can exspect to deal with one or more of these sorcerors at each of the stones."

[Elu Thingol]

Illidan looks puzzled. If they already controlled all the stones why weren't they trying to use them?

[Galdor]

"The stones are too powerful for somone like that sorceror to use. Therefore they can only guard them until somone of much greater power comes. The stones were assembled at Xiloscient to keep dark elements sealed away, it is possible that there is something or somone of great evil power who has been sealed away by the stones, and these sorcerors are guarding the stones from people like us until it or he emerges at Xiloscient and can come collect the stones."

[Elu Thingol]

"If what you say is true the capture of this stone is a great defeat to our enemies. They may be on our backs any second!" Illidan turns and begins to head for the temple.

[ILLOTRTM]

The temple comes into veiw. Valanthe cautiously walks up to the door and opens it. Inside the small chamber, there is a platform. On it there lay a silk pillow with a beautiful blue stone on it. "The Saphire of Water, the first stone, we've got it!" Valanthe picks it up and turns to the others. "We must make for Xair now. We'll stop there for the night."

[Elu Thingol]

Illidan turns to marvel at the blue stone, but just at that moment the ground starts to rumble. The pillar on which the blue stone lay crumbles, and poisonous darts begin to fly through the air."ARGH!", screams Illidan, "it's booby trapped ". The three companions begin to rush for the entrance.

[ILLOTRTM]

OOC: Let me guess, you're an Indiana Jones fan!

IC:As the three just make it out to the entrance, the rest of the temple stands a crumbled mess. However, in the center of the rubble, the Stone sits unharmed. "D... do you think it's safe?"

[Elu Thingol]

OOC: I'm not the one who had the stone sitting on a platform in the middle of the room:D

IC: Illidan runs through the rubble and picks up the stone; when he comes back he hands it to Valanthe. It has such a bright light coming from it that it hurts he eyes. The beauty of the stone is incredible.

[Galdor]

After gazing at the stone for a sort time Galdor said, "This stone is indeed beautiful, I can see why the dwarves stole it. But come, we have tarried to long already, even now the sorcerer my be returning with more men. We must hurry to Xair" Valanthe placed the stone in her pack and the three companions set off at a jog towards Xair.

[ILLOTRTM]

When the companions reach Xair, they find a rather small town with hardly anyone outside, but then again, it is fairly late. "We should find an Inn and recover our strength." When the three find an Inn, they order a room and head straight up. Valanthe (OOC: Question, why does everyone like to spell my name ValEnthe? there's only one E! Oh well, lol) walks over to the window and looks at the moon. She thinks back to a night in Mirkwood, the night she met Aust. Trying to shake it from her mind, Valanthe turns to her two friends. "Well, tomorrow is a new day. Get some rest." She walks over and sits on her bed, though she is not feeling very restful.

[ILLOTRTM]

OOC: No one's posted in a while, so I'm guessing there isn't anything else to be done this night!

IC:The next morning, Valanthe awakens to a dim morning. "Arise, friends! We must get moving! The enemy is close behind! Where are we headed now? To the Gianue Forest?

[Galdor]

"Aye, the faster we move the better. We can stop to get supplies on our way out." Galdor, Elu and Valanthe stopped for supplies on their way out of the city and continued moving until dark, a few hours from the Forest.

[ILLOTRTM]

As they approch the forest, the sounds of the day tend to grow quite. When they reach the Forest, all is quite but the sounds of their breath "The only thing I hate more than Chaos is Silence...."

[Elu Thingol]

OOC: When did my name change to Elu:) . However, I actually like it better that way so I don't care.

IC: Elu looks darkly at his two companions. "This was once the home of my people and now it is the home of my nightmares. I will scout out the outer-edge of the forest. You remain here." Elu draws his dark blade and cloaks. Then moving like a gentle breeze vanishes into the forest.

[ILLOTRTM]

Valanthe moves cautiously into the woods. Just then, something big flys overhead. "What was that?" Valanthe says, drawing her bow, hping this one doesn't get away.

[Elu Thingol]

Elu begins to pace cautiously through the dark wood. Suddenly a scream pierces the air, then another, and another. Sweat triggered by some deep hidden memory begins to trickle down Elu's face. He frantically looks around spinning his head every which way. Then driven by some unknown fear he flees; racing through the woods he runs towards his friends. *About five minutes pass* A dark wood lays in silence. Then shadows begin to pass over the ground without noise, without warning.

[ILLOTRTM]

Valanthe suddenly lets an arrow go, but hears no reaction. She calls out fearfully, suddenly feeling alone: "G... Galdor? Elu? You guys still here?" Before anyone can answer, the shadow passes over head again. This time, Valanthe's aim is true and she hears a loud, chilling cry that makes her shudder. It comes and lands right next to her, though she still cannot see what It is. it's obviously a bird of some sort. It pecks at Valanthe's staff and it flys from her hand. Not having time to reach for her sword or bow, she starts muttering a simple barrier spell, praying that Elu and Galdor show up soon.

[Elu Thingol]

Elu has now become delirious. He crashes through the brush flailing his arms out gasping for breath. He collapses on the ground next to a sturdy birch. Then he hears the sound. The slow meticulous crunching of branches. They are all around him. He shudders stands up and draws his long dark blade; it glitters. The black shapes are upon him.

[Galdor]

Galdor stops and looks up at the sky, dark clouds begin to roll in, to fast to be natural, and a bird like shape flies overhead. He jerks suddenly and looks around at Valanthe's call, as if awakened from a dream. A thick fog had now fallen, chilling him to the bone. He hadn't realized that she wasn't beside him any more. "Valanthe! Where are you?" he cried as he ran towards the direction of her voice. "How long have I been standing here?" he thought to himself as he ran. Suddenly he becomes aware of the amount evil all around him, it is so great that he stumbles and falls to the ground, breathing hard. A chilling cry suddenly pierces the ever growing darkness, and the flying shadow falls to the ground. Forceing him self up, he continues running. Valanthe suddenly appears out of the darkness in front of him, and he can see a dark shape standing over her, ready to strike. With hands faster then the eye, he grabs and throws two knives into the dark shape, stopping it in mid strike, and it rears away from Valanthe in pain. Drawing his sword and crying, "Elbereth!" he darts past Valanthe towards the beast. Even as he does, a small dark shape darts through the sky towards them...


OOC: The small dark shape is Sureatsa, remember I ask you if I could add her to the story a long time ago? I've just been waiting for a good time to add her. You can read all about her in my profile.

[ILLOTRTM]

OOC: Yeah, the bird is fine.

IC: Valanthe opens her eyes to see Galdor attack the bird. She takes this moment to grap her staff. In a matter of moments, she engulfs the thing in flame and it is gone. Breathing heavily, she looks into the sky at the new shape coming towards them. "A... a friend of yours, I'm assuming?" Before he can answer, she asks a new question: "Where is Elu?"

[Elu Thingol]

As Elu wakes he moans. He cannot feel his arms.... A pucrid stank surrounds him. He opens his eyes to see the green fog surrounding him. A liquid like muck clings to his arms. Elu rises, the sewage dripping from his body. "So this is what has become of the forests of my people", he thinks bitterly.
Elu leans down to examines the foul muck; it is rippling as if something very large moves within it. Elu shudders, something is not right here. Something is very wrong.

[Elu Thingol]

The ground has begun to move beneath Elu. The sold like muck has begun to ripple and shake. In a squelching scream, a large creature emerges from the merk. Elu immedialtly dives into a roll to avoid the evil beast, and then turns and begins to run. Striving with all his might to get away from the beast. It sinks back into the ground surging powerfully to catch its prey. Its head is like that of a lizard, its teeth glinting without light. Elu runs on...

[ILLOTRTM]

Valanthe looks around her, frantically searching for Elu. She calls his name a few times, no reply. Then she hears something coming towards them. She hears frantic, heavy breathing. She can't see much, even with her keen elven sight, the fog and darkness is too thick to see clearly. Suddenly, a shape appears, and comes rapidly closer towards Valanthe. All of a sudden, Elu bursts out of the fog and slams head on into Valanthe, knocking her over.
Sitting up straight, Valanthe looks at him. "Elu! You're ok.... aren't you?.... what's the matter?"

[Oren]

*Then a dark figure crouches in the bushes. she sees the two on the ground. She shifts from one foot to the other. Not wanting to jump the two, but she wanted to talk to Valanthe*

[Neothen]

*Neothen was walking in the forest when a sudden noise comes out of no where. Neothen quickly runs to the sound but only to find Oren in the bushes. He walks up to her quietly and spoke.*" Oren,what are you doing here?"* He knew something was wrong by the way she was hiding.*

[Oren]

*Oren shushed Neothen, adn pointed to Valanth and Elu*

[Elu Thingol]

OOC: It's ok, Elu, calm down! They have both spoken with me, and it is ok for them to join. Hey, now that you're here, how about posting? ;) Guys, do me a favor and post your profiles, ok?
IC: Valanthe turns her head quickly as she hears a familiar voice nearby. She notices her friends Neothen and Oren. She smiles at first to see them. She calls out to them each in turn.

ic: as the three people spoked they heard that some one was coming from behind throught the wood.
" hey every body I'm back" Phenix said as he walked out in front of them." oh I see you found some new brave adventures" he said to Valanthe and pointed at neothen and oren

" So what kind of trouble is there now I heard a loud sound from this direction."

[ILLOTRTM]

Valanthe looks over to Phenix. "Yes, friends of mine have joined us! Are you all aquainted? ;) Well, Neothen, my old friend there is quite some trouble about. If you're wandering these parts you'll know all about the Sacred Stones? Well...." Valanthe goes on to explain the entire ordeal she and her friends have been through. "Well, then Elu comes running out of the woods and I beleive you saw the end of that." *turns to Elu* "And I'm afraid I still don't know what the problem is... what happened?"
OOC: Elu, where have you been! :D I was afraid you had left! However, I dunno where Galdor is, he hasn't posted in a while either....

[Phenix]

" did u find teh first stone?" Phenix askes Valanthe

[ILLOTRTM]

Valanthe turns once again away from Elu, who is not answering. He seems to be in a state of shock. (OOC: That or he's given up on this RP :rolleyes: Like so many have... I wish you guys would let me know before you leave.....) "Yes we did manage to get the first stone. We have to get the one here in the forest. No, where would that chamber be.........."

[Neothen]

" Well I saw lot of demented roots that connected to a large tree before I saw you here."

[ILLOTRTM]

"Did you now? Well there we are! Lead the way!"

[Neothen]

* Neothen brought the group to the tree.*" I hope you know how to get in? I can't see an entrance anywhere."

[ILLOTRTM]

Valanthe thinks for a minute. "What do you guys think?"

[Oren]

"hmmmm..." *Takes a bear form and walks around the tree. She scratches at the roots but they don't budge* "Well," *She says walking back around to the group* "I haven't the slighest idea*

[Neothen]

" Wate a second."* Neothen lifts his hand and throws a bit of fire at the roots. The roots jump out the way reveiling an entrance.*" Trees don't like fire."

[ILLOTRTM]

Valanthe walks up to the now revealed door, and reaches for it. She suddenly pulls her hand away. "This seems too easy...."

[Phenix]

" well we wont find out if it is if we stand out here" Phenix said and walked into the tree

[Ecthelion]

When inside Ponte looks around catiously, but can't see much. Suddenly an axe flies right by his face. A dwarf steps into vision from the darkness. "Sorry there friend I thought you were an orc. I am Nain Ironfoot, Captain of The Rangers. Before I saw more please give me food and drink I have been in here for days."

Valanthe walks down into the tree and sees the dwaf standing there.
"How do we know we can trust you?" She says cautiously. Seeing the lok on his face, however, Valanthe reaches into her pack and begins to get out some food and drink.

[Ecthelion]

"I never said you could," Nain says with a grin ," but I will be helpful when the time arises." Nain waits quietly for any food or drink that comes his way.

[ILLOTRTM]

Valanthe pulls some meat, bread and water out of her pack and hands it to the dwarf. She waits while he eats his food hungrily. "Now... why would we find you down here, master dwarf?" She says when he slows down.

[Ecthelion]

"Well *munch munch*, I saw some odd looking thing around here a fe days ago and followed it. I saw it *munch sip* throw down a lit branch and the tree open and it walked in. I did the same thing and followed in. When I got in I could see nothing and when I turned around *sip munch* the door had shut. I couldn't here anything so I assume the the thing had a backdoor. I have been stuck in there for days *munch munch*. What were you all doing here?" Nain keeps eating a drinking "Oh and thank you for the meal."

[Neothen]

" Our friend Valanthe is looking for the sacred stones. My name is Neothen. How long have you been here?"

[Oren]

*Oren doesn't completly trust this stranger. maybe because he is a ranger or maybe not...She sits in the corner, not eating or drinking a thing. her eyes following Nain*

[Ecthelion]

"Me? I would say I've been in there for 3 or 4 days, not positive though. The Sacred Stones you say? I have heard of them, but thought the were just myth. Why do you seek them?" Nain munches on some food and sips away his water.

[ILLOTRTM]

"We must recover the stones in order to restore peace to this land." Seeing the confused look on Nain's face, she explains their story once again. However, she's not sure if he was paying as much attention to her as he was to his food, which he had nearly finished when her tale was over.

[Galdor]

OOC: Hey ILLORTTM, I don't have time to read up on everything I've missed and figure all of this out. So I am resigning from this rp, you can go ahead and kill Galdor or whatever you want to do.

" I wasn't sure but I geuss the sacred stones have that power to restore peace."* Neothen sat down on a root taking out a bit of bread.*

"Hm.....ok. I am full of food and drink. I will you pay you back somehow, but for now shall we get moving?"

[Neothen]

" I agree we should get the stone before the roots close."

[Ecthelion]

Nain asks "There's a stone in there? Well, whatever you say." The company file into the tree and wait for awhile for their eyes to adjust to the darkness in the light. To make things easier Nain picked up a tree branch, quite thick and as long as a sword. Nain whispered closed his eyes and a small flame formed in his hand. He made a calm pushing movement, pushing the flame onto the branch. They were all amazed when they saw the passage to the left of the tree a few feet down. "Is that the way we shall follow?" Nain asked the group.

OOC: Forgot to mention that I have slight fire magic

[Phenix]

" I think so, it's the only way so..."

[Neothen]

" If the stones are that important then don't expect a warm welcome."* Neothen looked down the passage with uneasy eyes.*

[ILLOTRTM]

Valanthe swallows hard and draws her sword. "Yes, let's get going." As soon as they take a few steps further they hear a loud screech. "What on middle-earth was that?" Valanthe asks, feeling a little paranoid.

[Ecthelion]

Nain pulls out his axe for safety, the company walks carefully along the tunnel. A few steps later the ground collapses under them and suddenly they all fall down dark and steep tunnel. When they hit the ground Nain is knocked out. Soon he wakes up at the sound of dark, deep voices. He looks around and sees the others all tied to wooden poles as is he. In the darkness where he can't see he hears voices talking. "What should we do we the intruders?" "EAT EM!!" "TORTURE EM!!" "BURN THEM!!" different voices yelled out. Then many voices started fighting. Soon a darker more erie voice rang out "SILENCE! We shall fight them. For some sport and for the fact you all need the training. If we ever get some real fighters landing in here we'll be done for. It was then Nain noticed all his weapons were in place, even the Axe of Tuor was at his side. The voice that must have been the leader walked out from the darkness and lit many torches reavealing the band of 30 or so orcs. They all took out crude weapons that were mostly sharp and pointed metal things. About two in the back had bows and arrows. One orc went around cutting the ropes that bound the company. Nain was last and right when he was undone Nain grabbed up his giant axe and beheaded the orc. The orcs laughed and the lead orc said to Nain "I a fiesty warrior we have hear. You shall be fun to kill. By the way my name is Gordoc Durshbug." Nain answered "You are not worthy to hear my name or any names of my companions." The orcs howled in laughter and Gordoc replied "We shall see dwarf scum." The company walked over to one side of the large room and the orcs to another. Nain said to them "Kill all that you want, but leave Gordoc for me." With that one of the orc archers shot an arrow that hit infront of the company. Gordoc yelled "NOW YOU DIE!" and with that the orcs charged.

[ILLOTRTM]

With that Valanthe gets her long blade and starts hacking away at the oncomming orcs. When she has some space, she whips out her bow and sends an arrow flying at an orc in back. It nails him right between the eyes. "Oh, bullseye! Yay on me! This is fun, eh?" she wheels around and swipes the head off one, but he manages to nick her on the arm. "That little......"

[Ecthelion]

Nain takes out his axe and starts hacking. Nain soon spots Gordoc. He takes out one of his throwing axes and chucks it at him. The axe slices off some of his left arm. Gordoc takes out a horn and blows it loudly. Immediately 75 or so orcs come from other passages into the area. Nain wipes some sweat off his brow and starts hacking off legs. After some fighting Nain spots a long axe. About the length of 1 and a half of a normal sowrd with the head of a normal axe. Nain pickes it up and starts getting a distance between him and the orcs. This gave him time to throw his small axes. Each axe sliced and diced. When Nain ran out of throwing axes he chucked the long axe at a nearby orc. He then took back out his axe and starts getting to Gordoc in the back. One by one Nain hacked at orcs to get to Gordoc until a large club hit him right in his stomach flinging him against the back wall. All the orcs cheered for their mighty cave troll. Nain got up bleeding in many spots. He tied some dirty rags on the floor around some wounds and laughed "Puny orcs you are but scum and now you shall all die." In the moment of silence before the fighting started again it looked like about 50 orcs and the cave troll were left.

[Oren]

*Oren reacted to the orcs. She never got along with these things and loved a good fight. She took bear form and snarled at them. She jumped on a surprised orc's back, ripping and tearing at it's grimy flesh. The taste of blood filled her mouth. She teared and clawed the orcs, one after another, killing them. Once she began to fight, she never stoped. If her breath didn't come in on it's own, she would have forgotten to breath. She saw her friends fighting. She found her own battle styles crude, but it got the job done...*
