I believe that most of you have read the book.(and it's all chapters)
Is Peter Jackson mad or am i stupid? When i read the book i have imagined the Prabcing Pony a warm and familiar place but the film is exactly opposite.Does Peter Jackson have the right to change the book?Bir daha asla canli ejderhalara gülme seni aptal Bilbo!

I didn't picture the prancing pony that warm. You have to remember that the times had changed and all. Bree usually lets everyone in at night without a gate guard.

The physicality of the Prancing Pony was how I imagined it to be. Strider sitting in the shadows smoking a pipe was perfect.

It was the horrible travesties that went on in the Prancing Pony that bothers me. Pippin and his out of place, over the top accent, "Yeah, I know a Baggins! Frodo Baggins, over there!" And the foolish way the ring gets on Frodo's finger. The brawling way that Aragorn tosses Frodo around to the room without talking to him first and explaining some things. The cheesy way Sam barges in and hollers, "Let him go or I'll have you longshanks!" And the absolute lack of character development on Aragorn. Don't you think that it's foolish that the hobbits get led out of Bree by this guy and have no clue who he even is? Sam and Merry were having a conversation to that effect in the movie! In the book they know that he is Aragorn, son of Arathorn and a friend of Gandalfs. The movie is so poor in development that it comes off as very unbelievable.

The only good change or modification was when the ringwraiths turned their heads when Frodo put on the ring and how they trashed the room.

I too, always imagined "The Prancing Pony" as a nice, friendly place. It seemed messed up to me in the movie as well. I just read that chapter again and the only thing that leads me to think that it would be otherwise was the presence of the Southerners, Bill Ferny, and Harry, the gatekeeper. Sure, the smokey environment seemed just about right, but the people were all too mysterious for my taste! In the books there was song, laughter, friendly hobbits...

Thorin:

I agree with you about Aragorn. I needed some more explanation too, but I passed over it (like I have done about so many things in the movie) because, overall, I love the movie!

Well, I think that that is just because Merry and Pippin in the movie aren't very mature to start off with. They weren't like that in the book. However, I believe that this is PJ's tribute to the beer at the Prancing Pony. In the book, Sam had misgivings about the inn - it didn't look homey enough for him, but after he had had some of the beer, his last misgivings went away. I find it interesting how PJ has combined certain scenes and used different people to keep the main idea in.

I'm not upset! Don't get me wrong - I just like to discuss with other people the things I pictured differently from how they were portrayed in the movie. I ADORE the movie and always will!

Butterbur was fairly friendly in the films though not as friendly and hearty as in the books. Also, the inn was colder and more harsh in the films than it should have been. But hey, when you make a movie you have to make everything flow in a certain way.
