Welcome to the State of Dor-en-Ernil
Ruler of this state is Princess Altaira Telquiare, neice of Emperor Ciryaher Pengristion of Arnor; her palace is situated in the capital Dol Amroth. Representatives from the surrounding regions are as follows:
Eredrim - Elmril
Dunadan - Gramir
Edhellond - Galdor
Technically we are a province of Gondor, but in fact we are much more independent and thus should be treated like a state of its own. Unlike the other regions, this state is ruled with enormous autonomy and the voice of the ruler is one of the most important in Gondorian affairs - just behind the King and the Steward of the Kingdom.
Dor-en-Ernil is an absolute monarchy with feudal structure. The ruler is autonomous. He pays annual support to the King, but he rules as he sees fit. The land is held in fiefs by the lesser Nobility of Belfalas and Dor-im-Nîn (S. "Land between the Waters") in the North. These vassals pay annual tax, must enforce the laws in their domains and join the main Army as well as serve in the garrison of the castles three months a year. All of them join the main Army in wartime, many of them building the heavy cavalry of the realm. Seventeen families hold 90% of the land. Some local positions are elected.
Dor-en-Ernil is divided in administrative regions, led by a Warden (more urban regions) or a Bannerette (more rural regions).
Geography
The foothills of Ered Tarthonion are heavily are heavily wooded. The lower vales are filled with deciduous tree including oaks and cedars. Getting higher, the way is given to mighty pines.
The deltas of the rivers Gilrain and Morthond have only a few large trees. Moss-hung cypresses can be found around small lagoons. Waterfowl and other birds could be found. Swarms of insects fill the air. Myriads of fish fill the estuaries. Closer to the bay are clam beds and burrowing crabs.
Vast beds of plankton, marine plants, crustaceans and shellfish have their home at the bay. Even lager ocean creatures are attracted by the large food supply. You can find sharks, whales, dolphins, rays, sea snakes and sea turtles as well as fell-turtles and krakens.

The State of Dor-en-Ernil has the following boundaries: in the North it spans from Spathlin to Beriain, in the East Linhir, in the west Rohallor, and Edhellond, in the South Methras. The island of Tolfalas is unclaimed but may come under the command of Dol Amroth.
There is a garisson of soldiers which expands from the bay of Edhellond, Down to the river Ringlo, then all across the borders of Rohallor and Spathlin to the river Gilrain.

Gramir was upon his horse. The day was growing thin, and his men were getting tired. He was on his way to Minas Tirith on direct orders from the Princess Altaira. He had orders to take his archers of the race of the Dunadan to Minas Tirith, and wait further orders.
He had set out two days ago, but still had many miles to go before he reached the great city. If the weather stayed as it was he thought he could arrive before sunset.

As Gramir and his archers make for Minas Tirith, Altaira and her knights await at Osgiliath. And not far from the garisson that they had made could be seen the tips of the spears of the Dark Lords' armies. They glint in the rays of the afternoon sun. Then high up in the skies flew the Silver Eagle of the Queen ELbereth, and again their hearts were filled with hope.

As the forces of the Dark Lord loomed over the horizon, Altaira saw the ships of Arnor from afar. A stinging pain awakened inside her as bitter memories invaded her thoughts.
Not long ago, an elf maiden from Edhellond fell in love with a mortal man. She knew he was of noble kind from the house of Penngristion her was, and she loved him and he loved her. Their passion was consumed and not long after that the elf maiden bore a child. But the man had to leave for he was needed in the war, but a promise he left her that he will return, and soon. So she waited. She did not tell him of her condition thinking such a burden would be too much for him to bear while he is at war. Patiently she waited for the time he will return to her and their child, who at the end of autumn was born. She was as lovely as any elfchild would be, but her hair was black as a starless night and her eyes gleamed of amber-gray. She was named Altaira, after the dawn star of Luinëalkar, but the name Penngristion her mother withheld. The elves of Edhellond did not welcome her child for she was born out of wedlock, and she was half-human from the house of Dol-Amroth which they do not recognize as authority over them, though the boundaries of the land which is under the banner of the Prince stretches to the edge of Anfalas. So the child grew in solitude, having only her mother by her side.
Many years passed, Altaira grew to be a very beautiful child, and wisdom was in her temples, and gladness in her heart. Though she was alienated from her people she paid no mind to their estrangement, she was happy knowing one day her father would return and lift the ban her mother was placed under. Her mother told her many stories about her father, and she wished he would rejoin them soon. Though she has never met him she loved him for her mothers’ account.
One day, her mother returned from traveling, tears were in her eyes and sorrow in her face. When Altaira asked her for the reason, she said, “Your father will never return to us. He has forgotten.” The words were like spikes that pricked her soul. He was married to another woman. A mortal human, and they abide now in the castle in Dol Amroth as the state’s new rulers. Altaira could not believe her ears; the man she has adored from afar is now more distant than the stars of Varda. She had to see for herself. She left her home and went to the great capital of Dor-en-Ernil, and there in the castle there was a celebration, unseen by mortal eyes, she hid herself under a cloak of brown sackcloth, and mingled with the crowd. When she got nearer she saw her father, Tall he was, valiant he looked, with deep dark black hair and eyes of amber-gray. Truly had he known about her, he would not doubt of her lineage, for she looked like him. She wanted to show herself, to see if he would remember and return to them. But as she drew nearer, a woman stepped forward, holding a child. Tears ran down her face, as she saw the love in her father’s eyes, and the joy he showed holding the little babe in his arms. The crowd cheered for the new princess, Eariel was her name; a name that she hated from that moment on.

Defeated and utterly bitter she went back to Edhellond, and remained there in sadness till she reached her adulthood. All her childhood days were an endless spying on the family she wanted. She would sneak on them when they visit the bays and see Eariel grow in gladness with a family around her, while she stood there, envying them.
Her mother died of grief not long after the news about her father reached her. Some of the elves took pity on her and took her in but under many rules. She was not permitted to do many things other elven children were able to do. When she reached her adult years, she left Edhellond, and went northward. She learned many skills in her days on the road. She became an expert archer and great swordsman. She also learned metallurgy as well as armor plating and designed her own armor and fought alongside the Dwarves in many battles.
She was captured by the enemy one day, and they tortured her and imprisoned her for nearly 6 months, until they grew tired of her resilience and decided to behead her. Before the guillotine set upon her neck, another army came and freed her and others who were captured. Leading them was a mighty warrior, tall with raven hair, and piercing eyes. It was he that struck the slaughterer dead and cut her bonds. She and the others who were freed were taken to their camp, where they were questioned. When the captain came to question her, he was surprised to realize she was half-elven. She offered him her service as an apprentice and he graciously accepted. He trained her furthermore in the art of war, and she learned quickly. In no time at all, she has mastered the sword, the mace, the spear and the bow, and her agility has increased tenfold. Truly of all his generals, she came after only two – Ervurkea, and Jahrdur. Other than them, no one could hold a battle with her and win.
Every detail from her captain she learned by heart, for not only did she respect him, had he known it, she worshipped him. He was everything she wanted in a man, and soon the admiration grew deeper, and before long, it has grown to love. On a dark day, under the mountains of Ered Luin she mustered enough strength to approach him, and speak to him of other things besides war. He entertained this new curiosity from his new apprentice, and soon they were talking like friends. Altaira could not bear it any longer, she was slowly drowning in a sea that surrounded her and grew each day. She had to make him know, or die. She kissed him. When the kiss ended the face that she saw was his face full of sadness, and he told her that he was betrothed to another. She was crushed at the thought of another man she loved being taken by someone else. “Must all the men I love have someone else in their hearts? Am I not worthy to be loved at all? Do you not find me beautiful enough?” She asked as tears streamed down her face. “You are beautiful beyond any words of mortal men. And you are more worthy of love than all the fairest maidens in Arda. But I cannot love you the way you want me to, for my heart is already given to someone else. I cannot give you for I only have one heart to give.” And she left him there and no one saw this parting.

Returning to the present, Altaira was hailed by her herald who brought her news that King Eomer of Rohan has resigned and that a new ruler is now enthroned upon Rohan. A king and Queen now sit upon the throne and they were Mithrandir and Talierin. She wished to see them both and congratulate them but the war in the fields of Osgiliath is keeping her too busy for socialization.
If only they would come to Gondor's aid, things would ease up a bit.

"Where am I?" Altaira slowly opened her eyes, she was lying on a soft feather bed near a window. Outside she could hear loud explosions from the fray. Then full memory came flooding in, She sat up suddenly but the pain from her wounds made her lie back with a cry.
"You are not fit to move, my lady." A familiar voice, she turns her head and there, sitting across the room, was Gramir.
"How long have I been out?? Who is defending the city??"
