Aragorn*9

I believe you put [u r l=whatever the link is]What you want it to say[/url]

Don't put spaces in the url though, I just did that to show you.

Try that, and thanks for the site, I'll go look at it.

well i'm not sure which one to trust. i guess if u wanted to name something u could see what each of them says and pick whichever name you like best. and let me try that little linking thing:

Elvish Translator (http://elendor.net/translator.php)

now let's see if it works!!

The only Sindarin "dictionary" I recommend on the web is Didier Willis' ~ link from Ardalambion (which is unfortunately down for repairs last time I checked). There however, if you are looking up a word in Sindarin you must be aware of the mutations, as the non-mutated form will head the entry of course.

Grey Company Elvish is an incorrect form of Tolkien's languages; it seems to be a strange spawn between Sindarin, Quenya and something of their own! Anyway, don't learn it: learn the real Elvish! (Gosh, I sound like a tv commercial) :)
And as for the Tengwar, if you can't find an easy-to-read Tengwar-aid, I would be more than hapy to tach people. I have written Tengwar for over two years now, but it did take me a while though. I learned it from a marvelous book by a Jim Allan, called An Introduction to Elvish, which has ben mantioned numerous times at this forum. It is a wonderful book, which offers amazing insight into Tolkien's languages (on more on this subject, I'm sure Cian would be happy to take over ;))

Cool, didn't know there was such a thing as the translator. I want to wish my son a happy birthday today. Is this a correct translation in Quenya:

Happy Birthday Cody from Mom and Dad

Valimo nosta Cody e amil a atar

Some folks use Alassea nostarė for "happy, joyful birthday" ~ Alassea is an adj. derived from alasse "joy".

The Tengwar Word Processor on this site will transcribe from Latin to Tengwar. It is complicated, and I think you need to know Elvish to use it properly (a bit like trying to use a Chinese WP - you have to know what it's for). Tengwar Word Processor (http://hem.passagen.se/mansb/at/tengscribe.htm)
If you want to learn Sindarin, then all it's grammatical nuances can be studied here (http://www.uib.no/people/hnohf/sindarin.htm)

Enjoy!
