Eowyn - Miranda Otto

As has happened with the last film, it is hard to judge how the audience and fans will react to an actor's portrayal of a certain character within the Lord of the Rings films. However, I love making predictions and guessing so I am going to do that now. I have had the pleasure of only seeing a little of Eowyn so far and believe me, I am a scavenger for spoilers so I have seen probably most of what any fan can see of her so far.

From what I have seen however, I think that Miranda Otto will probably do a fine job potraying the Maiden Warrior Eowyn. She is beautiful and yet can appear hard and cold when she feels caged. I have not had the ability to see this actress truly in action, but so far PJ has done a good job in casting his characters.

I've heard her talk in interviews and she sounds like she really got what Eowyn was about. I'm kind of sick of all these rumours of her and Arwen fighting over Aragorn though.

Oh goodness! I hadn't heard such rumours. I certainly hope they don't have a love triangle going in the film that would ruin the innosence of Aragorn and Arwen's lovely romance.

I can't make any predictions, I've never seen Miss Otto in any other work.

When I first heard the movies were being made, my mind gravitated toward either Claudia Christian or Jodie Foster for this role.

I will just have to wait and see. However, from her publicity still at imdb.com, she looks a little zaftig (sp?) to play a svelte shield maiden.

I think Miss Otto will be perfect for the part of Eowyn,at least from what I've seen in the trailer.I hope she's that good in the movie as well.

About Arwen: I didn't like the role change PJ made, but that is not the only reason I dislike his Arwen. I am not a fan of Liv's and I did not like her facial expressions or way of speaking in the film.

Hmmmm ... I thought she would be perfect right off when I first saw her in the trailers. Then I loved her even more when I saw her in the film and I can't wait to see her character again in the next two films.
