The 'Weekenders' debating team!

Hello all,

I am thinking of arranging debates that will run from Friday evening until Sunday evening on numerous weekends throughout the year. This would be designed for those members of the Guild who have pressing work commitments throughtout the normal working week and would be unable to fully commit to a 'week-long' debate, but still want the chance to have team discussions.

I would envisage teams of three members participating in these debates, that can run in parallel to other onging Guild debates.

If you are interested in this idea let me know your thoughts or any suggestions you might have.

This I think is a very good idea. Although I have been able to take part in week-long debates with little trouble, there have been times when a shorter time-limit would have been preferable. It would as well make a nice challenge coming up with answers in a short time. Also as has been said, those who have difficulty in debating over a full week can still be involved in good debates.

Seems lika a good idea, even if I personally am more limited during most weekends. But I guess that is not the case with most of the Guildmembers. But if we want top quality in the debates, we might have to look for the week-lonng ones. Just have a look at the debate between Gothmog & Maedros. Awesome!
