I was just browsing amazon and looking at the HoME, it seems a few volumes are focused on LotR and the Sil. How much of these books are included in HoME? How about the Hobbit?
thanks

There are twelve HOME books. Volumes 6-9 are the history of the Lord of the rings, you can see how the whole book evolved and all the major changes it underwent until it finally came out as the one we know. Books 1-5 are more or less concerned with the Sil and the legends connected to it. Books 10,11 and 12 are all various writings concerned with Middle Earth.
Hope it helps! And welcome to the forum!:)

I think you can buy all 12 in hardcover on amazon or some other internet store. I don't know if a set is available anywhere though.:)

I just stopped being lazy, and I started looking around. In the UK there are 3 books, each containg about 4 volumes, for 99 pounds.
I live in the U.S.:(

But I'm sure there's some way to order them from the UK as well.
I personally like paperbacks more - not just because they're much much cheaper (I don't like giving 25 pounds for a hardcover book) but because I actually like reading a paperback much more! I know it sounds crazy but it's true!:)
