Guild of Elves and Elf-friends

Hey everyone! This is going to be mainly an rp guild for elves and a few others that wish to join. The rules will be more or less just like the other rp's, I think you know how they work. But their will be no magic like with those wizard rp guilds such as Heren Istarion and the White Council. No magic that is except for the little bit that will be granted to you when you join the guild(I will decide what powers you will have), but you can use any type of elvish weapon or device in the rp's, the battle arena rp for instance that is, if ever we get one, first I need people to join. So somebody please join and get an adequate number of people to join and I will elaborate more on everything.;)

Your magic is that hmmm..... you can manipulate water, mine is that I can be in both worlds at once(the wraith/spirit world, and the physical world) and I can do basically what Glorfindel in the book did and call upon certain spells from the wraith world. Phenix could you pm some more people and ask them to join, but don't bother with Galdor, Anamatar, or Nenya, and if no one else joins, then just forget everything I told you before I asked you to pm other members.;)

yep your in Anira, you're the Silver Elf of the Grey Havens, and your body as a weapon? thats original, I like it;). Okay everyone now that we have a pretty good number of people to start with, in case you haven't figured out this is how the ranks will work:

We have our 3 head Elf's and altogether 4 high one's (thoughtful20 being the fourth, just without a ring of power), everyone else is below us, with myself being the head of all. The 4 orders are Grey Havens, Rivendel, Lorien, and Mirkwood, you can figure out that the head of each is the High one. From there we go down in color as new members join, the colors are Silver, Grey, Red, Green, and Blue. Now I need to make up some rules and punishments for everything and exactly what kind of RPG it will be, for that I want the other 2 head elf's to join me in another thread so we can make them up, and then we'll leave that alone for people to read. When we get more people I make a High Council type of thread to discuss things if we get more people, if we get that far thoughtful20 you will be the on that, but we'll have to see if more people join first.;)

yes it can be Elfman, and yes the three with rings, Myself, Carantalath, and Phenix, will keep their rings and our magic, but no one else gets magic, unless someone has an objection to this, in which case we won't have magic but keep our rings.

yeah thats fine, I just need to think of some abilities for everyone, you could help me think of some too, but I think Cesarfilho's would be his(boy or girl?) shrewd vision and speed, but I'm not sure if he will get both of those.

Yeah I thought that would sound kind of wierd to everyone. I was thinking that you would be named the High Elf when everyone is there, and it will be your job to protect the Elf City. I dunno, I can change that though if you think its too complicated, I might change it anyway. Just tell me if you want it changed, cause I have no problem with changing it.;)

I'll edit this in a little while, I'm close on the abilities thing.

Okay I have thought of some abilities: 1. The Elves of the Grey Havens are skilled in metal-crafts(making weapons, etc.)

2. The Elves of Rivendell are skilled in medicines and remedies, they are great healers.

3. The Elves of Lorien are Master Swordsmen and have the ability to stay hidden from view easily.

4. The Elves of Mirkwood are Master Marksmen (such as with bows, etc.,) they can also see very well in the darkness.

I think we should definitely consider it. I think it would be cool to expand a little bit. Then, we could make separate posts for the company staying in Rivendell, the company traveling east, and the company traveling south. What are everyone else's opinions?

I don't think we have enough members in this guild yet to have our own section. We don't want to have our section taken because of lack of interest. That would just make it worse in the future if we wanted our own section. Look at Heren Istarion, for example. They have probbaly ten threads in their guild and at least 35-40 members. So, I say wait a while OR try to get more active membership now.

I'd like the idea of real Guild of Elves and Elf-friends, I think there's nothing equal at the moment, and perhaps that would attract more members if we had our own section...

And I think, as a new guild, we could as well start some more threads, about more personal things and other stuff than rpg-ing, don't you think?

Yeah, maybe an RP Profile thread? Or we could maybe even have something like in Scholar's Hall where we could write essays and then discuss them. Or we could even review parts of The Silmarillion! Yep maybe you're right Ramagna if we had our own section then it would attract more members. I just don't want to lose it at an auction...I think that would be so embarrassing.
UPDATE: I don't want to let the Rangers get the Guild so I will be posting a statement to Ancalagon at around noon today. If anyone else wishes to do this please PM me or just post in this thread.

Good Idea Celebrien, PM with some idea's of what to say and I will post an essay sort of thing in the Auction thread, I'll get started writing it in a little while, I just need one or two more ideas on top of mine and I can expand it pretty easily.

This guild is called the Guild of Elves and Elf friends. It doesnt have to be completely rps. You can start threads about elves. HAve discussions about elves history or nature. There is already a silmarillion discussion going so Im not sure how good an idea it'd be to start another and you dont wanna be plagerising other guilds so try to think of original threads concerning elves.

Well yes the company going east is headed for Lothlorien, but I can't remember right now which way Ramagna was going but you will be taking his place, and I'm not entirely sure but I think that means he left the guild, but Ramagna if you read this and you were just sick of the RPG we are starting discussion threads soon and you can take part in those if you like.

Well your ability is pretty much that you know how to make really really really good and cool weapons. But other than that you have the abilities of pretty much any other elf, great vision, very fast, ya know what I mean, the only 3 that really get any special abilities(magic) are me and Phenix and Carantalath, but we usually don't use it in the RPG, I have only used it once and the others have not used it yet.

Yea like a council of The Eldar or something like that. We could debate the ideas of war in Harad maybe, or an alliance of the remaining folk in Imladris and Lorien...The possibilities are endless!

Sorry that I didn't explain myself about this...
I wasn't sick about the rpg, it was really fun, I can tell you, and I would gladly like to remain in the guild of elves and ef-friends, especially if it becomes a real one...
It's just that I have become a bit net-addicted in the last time, so that I wanted to learn for my studies, but didn't cause I had been online, and I nearly missed a date with my girlfriend cause I forgot the time while surfin' around...
It wasn't only this rpg that kept me online, but apart from being less responsible of replying regularly if I let my character die, I think it gives an rpg as well some more flair if death arises among the players...
But if you don't mind I keep around as I will write a bit about the evil and maybe about Ramagna, the forums ghost...

If I could shed some light on the government council idea:

1)-You need land to have one. But currently I think all land is claimed. Gotta ask Cir about that one.

2)-If you got land youd be much more than a council. You would be in the current war sooner or later.

3)-Heren Istarion right now has 9 members in the Gov't council-4 or 5 are active in it. So I dont think youd worry about having enough people.

Glorfindel, Ms. Greenleaf wants to know what is to be a Red Elf of the Grey Havens. If I have your permition, I'll explain her:

Ms. Greenleaf, the survey we all took is to rank ourselves into groups. But there are more than one people in each group (the groups are the "places" from Middle-Earth), so we have to rank people by colours. I guess Glrofindel is the High Elf of the Grey Havens, I am teh Silver, and you are the Red, and so on... There are also High, Silver, Red (etc) Elves of Mirkwood, Lothlórien, bla bla bla. But as I notice, most of us are been ranked into Grey Havens, which is not pleasing Glorfindel much.
Now, to be ranked SIlver, Red, Green, etc is not so much important. This is only to know your characteristcs, according to the place from where you are. And it is obviously done for a matter of organisation, I believe.

I have a suggestion for the guild:

There seems to be an idea of teaching the Elvish language: I think that this would be a bad idea for the guild since it is already being taught in the guild of tolkienology. But if you have your heart set on teaching a language, I and a few others (most likely) would be glad to do some research and teach languages of men...such as the Numenorean tongue. That's creative at the least. hmm...

Earendil why don't you start a topic were you can teach simple frases to people who want. And if someone has a frase they want translated or put into Quenya you do it for them. Just an idea, we have to get your and Glorfindel's permissions.

Yeah, you can just tell them what you know. I don't think any one would ask for something too hard. Just simple frases, like alot of newbies want to learn hoe to say greetings in Quenya. That sort of stuff.

Hey, all members of the Guild of Elves and Elf-friends. I have an important announcement. My father will veto the telephone to which I connect my Internet tomorrow - December the 30th. For this reason, I regret to announce that I will be too little active in the Guild for an undetermined time. Perhaps I will be able to use it on weekends, and I will also try to go to cyber cafés to use the Internet for a while, but this costs too much, so I'll probably do it only once a week. So, if I don't post for a long time, it means that I don't have time to, but I'll try to read everything that happens here. Thanks everyone for the good times.
