Alright everyone me and Carantalath came up with this beginning part(well it was more Carantalath, thanks:)). The starting point for the RP game is Rivendell (well it probably will be) and so this right now is like "The Council of Elrond", only its "The Council of Glorfindel", so lets get some ideas for how to get this game going more, I'll post more later but painting homework calls.

East to Rhun:
Glorfindel1187
Lhunsoroniel
Rasec
Ponte
Earendil
Charmania

South to Harad:
Phenix
Carantalath
Anira
Celebrien
Bethania(if she is still with us)
Ramagna (his ghost if he dedides to come back)

Maurenautha-if you decide to take part in the RPG please bring yourself into the story as going South(for example, have yourself stumble across that company)

Lossengondiel- East

Nefmariel- its up to you

Beth (or Bethania, as she was called in more formal situations), high elf of Mirkwood, looked out from the castle into the night sky. Her hands rested lightly upon the cool stone and she closed her eyes briefly and felt a breeze lift her hair from her neck.
Beth was young for a high elf, but none disputed her lead for she was fair and compassionate. Her father had once been the high elf of Mirkwood but he had passed in battle long ago, her mother of sadness to see her beloved die, and so the duties had bben passed to Bethania, their only child.
Feeling a slight shift in the wind, Beth opened her eyes. Far off in the shadows of night, blocking out stars, a shape flew towards her. She felt nothing hostile in it, so watched it come calmly.
as it grew closer, she could make it out to be a bird, black as night. It landed upon the stone next to her seemingly in relief.
Turning towards her, it spoke in her mind. this caused a tingle to spread down her back, but somehow she wasn't afraid.
*You are Bethania, high elf of Mirkwood?* it stated
"Yes, that is i." she said back, slightly awestruck.
*you are wanted by my mistress, Glorfindel to be present at Rivendell. it is a matter of some importance*
With that he flew of into the night air.

Bethania sat on her horse, a beautiful palomino. What she saw was so glorious it took her breath away - a colour streaked sunrise behind the elven city of Rivendell. Right through her childhood, Beth had always dreamed of visiting Rivendell, but her father had nevr permitted her to do so. Now she had an obligation towards going there. it was true that she also had certain obligation's towards her home, Mirkwood, but that could wait. Rivendell, she thought with a sigh. hear i am

Glorfindel has returned yet again from Valinor to help in the fight against the new evil. He dwelt in The Grey Havens for a while but has come to meet with the Elves of Middle-Earth in the Abandoned City of Rivendel. Welcome Bethania, now we must wait for the rest of the Council to arrive, I have sent word for them all. Let us hope that evil does not befall them before they arrive here.

Carantalath
11-13-2002, 01:10 AM
Carantalath, high elf of Lorien, stood among the trees of Lorien. She saw a white dove flying through the treetops. It stopped on a branch by her head and spoke to her. It talked of Glorfindel summoning her to Rivendell.
"I will leave immediately," she said. She packed a few things to take with her and started to ride her horse off into the west.

Carantalath
11-14-2002, 03:23 AM
Many days later, Carantalath rode into the valley of Rivendell. She got down from her horse and walked through the deserted city. She looked for anyone, anyone at all who might be found. But there was no one. She found the Hall of Fire and saw that the fire had almost gone out. She used her power to manipulate fire and sparks flew in the air. Soon, a large fire was burning. She sat down and sang softly to herself of the elves of the olden days.

Phenix
11-14-2002, 08:12 AM
Phenix rode into rivendell, " ah it's nice to be home" he saidas he rode througt the main gate

Lhunsoroniel, silver hobelf of Mirkwood is sitting high in a beech tree gazing at the countless stars when on a soft summery wind comes the sound of elvish singing telling her to go to Rivendell. She jumps from the tree and lands running, and is off like a shot to Rivendell.Kaaapppwwwiiinnngg!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:D

Rasec
11-15-2002, 07:38 PM
Rasec, Silver Elman of Lórien, seeing that Lady Carantalath had left to Rivendell, felt that something really important was to happen. Without any hesitation, he mounted on his white horse, Gwyndòfir, and rode to Rivendell as fast as he could, and that meant as fast as the wind, for Gwyndòfir was extremely untiring. Arriving at Master Elrond's House, Rasec was delighted, for a fresh wind passed by him and with it came a sweet fragrance. He dismounted from his horse and entered Rivendell softly, observing the City wiht his fair eyes.

Beth dismounted, tied her steed and started moving silently through the elven city of Rivendell. To her suprise, no one was around - the city was virtually deserted. A sweet smell on the air, smelling vaguely of flowers and woodland and fresh mountain springs, guided her until she was at what seemed to be the heart of the city.
Feeling as though she was being watched, Beth straightened and whispered into the morning air. "I have come to whom i was called, what is your wish for me?"

Come to the Council, and we shall await the others, and then I will send you on your task(s).

Rasec
11-17-2002, 01:50 AM
Rasec looked up with his flaming blue eyes and his brown-golden hair floated with the wind. He was able to hear the voice that called up, and so he followed it.

Carantalath
11-17-2002, 03:30 PM
Carantalath heard a voice and followed it to go to the council.

There is a new evil in Middle-Earth. Allatar and Pallondo, the Blue Istari that arrived here long ago, have started cults in the land's of Rhun and Harad. They have used a spell they created together with their powers to mass huge armies of men that obey without question, though if they weren't under the spell they would not serve them, for they owe and allegiance to Gondor. Allatar and Pallondo were also taught by Sauron the art of Ring-making, though very little about it. And while their rings are no where near as great as Sauron's they do posess some strength and powers. I am sending 2 groups of Elves and elf-like creatures to infiltrate their fortresses, 1 group will go the Far East, and the other to the Far South. You must break their powers, for if you break their powers, then you break the spell and the armies that they have massed.
Each army is 50 thousand strong so far, the West will not stand a chance against them. If you should fail, then all will be lost.

Phenix, I name you Lord of Rivendell, you must stay behind and protect the Elf city. It may very well be attacked by the time our quests are finished, protect it at all costs. Send word for Men of Rohan and Gondor to come and help you protect it, Bethania, send word for Elves from Mirkwood to come and help as well. Now to decide upon who will go in each company.

Myself, Luhnsoroniel, Rasec, and Ponte will go to the East. Carantalath, Bethania, Ramagna, and Anira will go to the South. But first, preparations must be made, use all the skills you have to create great weapons such as the Elvish weapons used in Gondolin of old, such as those swords that warned of danger.

11-18-2002, 09:55 AM
Bethania stood at the council and listened. She had always been a listener. She could sense the feelings of those in the party, too, some were eager, some angered at such evil in their lands, and some suprised. She herself was a cross between afraid and excited. She was not so much afraid for her own life but the lifes of her people, the elves of Mirkwood. What if she made a wrong decision? would she condemn her people to death?
"I will do all in my power to give to help towards this cause," she said, hoping it was the right thing to do.

Phenix
11-18-2002, 10:26 AM
"I'll get right to it" Phenix said and walked away to send messengers to rohan and Gondor.

Ramagna
11-18-2002, 01:01 PM
Ramagna, the grey Beornig of Mirkwood was just putting an orc-head on a stick in front of his dwelling, as he felt the want of turning into his bear form....

He then went deeper into the forest and heard rumours spreading among the bears in this region, concering up coming evil from Rhun, and something of the blue Istari, that had left their ancient orders, to help the free people of middleearth...

So he decided: *I have to help my elvish friends, the old bound must not be broken...*

And with a roar he began his Journey to Rivendell, to meet with his friends of old...

Frodorocks
11-18-2002, 09:10 PM
I'll do everything in my power to stop the Blue Istari. Lhunsoroniel goes off to teach people how to better use the bow, for like the rest of the people of Mirkwood, she is an expert marksman.:)

Rasec
11-19-2002, 04:04 AM
Rasec knew how to fight with a sword and also how to use fabulously bow and arrow. He remained in Rivendell and went to teach the young elves how to fight bravely. He also taught them, with the consent of Master Glorfindel, how to speak to animals. He had a white falcon, Elgòfir, and it helped him on that task. Also, his white horse Gwyndòfir was of great use. After many days teaching the elf children, Rasec was totally tired.

Ramagna
11-19-2002, 10:47 AM
Before reaching Rivendell, Ramagna turned into human form again...

He was tired as well, as he had to kill some orcs, lurking in the mountains that lay behind him, but he was satisfied, that some more orcheads on sticks would keep them from lurking in this region...

Greeting all that knew him from ancient days, he stepped into the great hall...

Ponte
11-19-2002, 02:14 PM
Búrun mounted his horse Heffaklumpen and left his snowhounse in the Forodwaith and started to ride south against Rivendell. After three days fast riding he reached the misty mountains northenmost mountains. There he were attacked by a group of around five orcs. Búrun speared one of the orcs to death and he mortally wounded another, but his spear stucked in the second orcs body, when he had lost his spear he draged his sword. He cut the head away from one orc and the otheres that were left ran away from Búrun. After this Búrun decided to ride more west than the mountains. He rode with Heffaklumpen a bit into Eriador and from there he rode south.

Maeglin
11-19-2002, 08:53 PM
Welcome to Rivendell Ramagna.
But there are some that have still not arrived, where is Burun? I hope
he is not in trouble, a large group of orcs, somewhere around 30 I believe, left the mountains the other day, they may give him trouble. I am sending out scouts to help him. Ramagna, Phenix, go and make sure Burun makes it here safely. You may take my horse if need be.

Frodorocks
11-19-2002, 09:31 PM
Rasec, Ponte, Glorfindel, you guys ready to go hunt some orc?:)

Maeglin
11-19-2002, 09:39 PM
Soon, but Burun(ponte) is in trouble, and has not yet arrived here.

Frodorocks
11-19-2002, 09:41 PM
Oh really?! What can I do to help?

Maeglin
11-19-2002, 11:08 PM
Well nothing really, we must be patient, I have sent out scouts to find and help him.;)

Rasec
11-20-2002, 04:24 AM
Rasec remained silent and observed everything. "I am really excited to start a mission" - thought he. Then he looked up to the sky and took a deep breath. The Sun had comforted him.

Ramagna
11-20-2002, 02:16 PM
Thank you for your warm welcome, Glorfindel!
I will go and search to help Burun immediately...

But thank you, I don't need no horse....

- and Ramagna turns into his bear form to search for the friend Burun and help him -

Phenix
11-20-2002, 02:31 PM
"I go to..." Phenix says and goes to join up whit the scouts

Frodorocks
11-20-2002, 09:01 PM
Lhunsoroniel stays behind, tirelessly teaching the younger and less expirienced elves to use the bow. "When you pull the string back always pull it back as far as your ear and keep it aligned with your eye. Pull back with your dominant han. Alway face the direction of your dominant hand....":)

Maeglin
11-21-2002, 01:59 AM
Be patient Lhunsoroniel, the young elves are great swordsman, and that should be enough, it is not crucial that they learn how to shoot, but continue training them.

Ramagna
11-21-2002, 10:59 AM
Though in bear form, Ramagna tried to speak up to phenix and the other scouts on the search for Burun:

*I smell orcs here, beware, perhaps they're planning a trap fpr us...*

Frodorocks
11-21-2002, 01:36 PM
I think Ramagna is right, the Elvish blades are glowing a faint shade of blue. I wonder if these orcs were sent by the Blue Istari. Well, we'll be ready for them. I'll try to be patient Glorfindel, but my name among the Ents means "hasty" in their tongue.:D

Maeglin
11-21-2002, 09:02 PM
I have finished making new Blades(swords, daggers, etc.) for those who are going to stop Allatar and Pallando. The blades glow blue when orcs are near, red if evil men are near, and green if wargs are near. Name them what you like.

Earendil, when she arrives, will be going to the East along with the others that I am sending.

Ponte
11-22-2002, 06:48 PM
Búrun saw far far away some small figures, one that looked like a bear and a few that looked like elfs or humans, but as he looked against them suddenly he heard the sound of lots of orcs that cam running against him, Búrun rode against the figures he saw far far away and he came away from the orcs, but now more orcs came from the south and he were stuck between the orcs.

Phenix
11-22-2002, 09:39 PM
Phenix saw the orcs that had suronded burun " ther he is, lets go" he sayd and rode down to teh orcs followed by the scouts and the bear.

Ramagna
11-23-2002, 03:58 PM
- Ramagna now saw Burun, and the trouble around him...
he followed phenix at once and as soon as they reached their enemies, he let out a roar that would make them tremble and shiver, and than he attacked with great anger -

Earendil
11-23-2002, 07:30 PM
and through the fight with the orcs came silver streaks that hit several orcs dead and Burun looked up to meet the light eyes of Earendil on her horse Pleserion. shooting off as many arrows as she could from behind her enemies and within eyesight of her friends of old.

Ponte
11-23-2002, 08:07 PM
The orcs around Búrun were killed and Búrun could rode away from them a bit. Búrun then rode back to the fight again and helped the others to fight the orcs.

Earendil
11-23-2002, 09:01 PM
and soon because of their large numbers some orcs were able to slip by and moved towards Rivendell. so Earendil stopped and rode to the strays and dimounted her horse and started to fight them on foot with two elvish long knives, trying her best to keep them away from the elf city.

Ponte
11-24-2002, 10:36 AM
When some of the orcs slipped away Búrun rode to Earendil, he dismounted his horse and started to help Earendil in her fight, and after a while the orcs turned back to the ones that where were Ramagna, Phenix and the scouts where. There they fought against Phenix Ramagna and the scouts but after a while the surviving orcs escaped the battle and went back to the mountains.

Earendil
11-24-2002, 06:01 PM
And after the last of the orcs were out of sight the friends headed back to the elf city to talk to Glorfindel once again. Earendil thought she could hear the sounds of clanging swords and without saying a word shot toward the city in high speed.

Ramagna
11-24-2002, 08:45 PM
- after the fighting with the orcs were over, and ramagna and phenix togehter with Burun und earendil and the other scouts went back to rivendell, ramagna turned back into his man form and thus spoke to earendil :

*I am glad you could make it here as well, earendil... how are the things around mirkwood, our beloved home, and have you already heard about the betrayal of the blue istari?*

*and Burun, good to see you untouched by orcish weapons...*

Earendil
11-24-2002, 11:12 PM
*Everything is fine at Mirkwood. everyone has been notified and there are scouts, our best marksmen, on our borders to make sure no danger comes near our home. and yes i have heard of the betrayel when i heard an urgent message to arrive here to listen to intructions from glorfindel in the abandoned elf city Rivendell.*

Maeglin
11-24-2002, 11:35 PM
Welcome to Rivendell Burun and Earendil. I am glad to see that you are both safe. I see you have both met Phenix already, so meet the other 2 High and Wise Elves: Carantalath and Bethania.

I have forged a large variety of weapons: spears, swords, bows, daggers, knives, maces, take what suits you best, and name it what you wish.

Now, I think we are just about ready to set off, are there any more last minute preparations or instructions needed before we go?

P.S. Earendil I got your PM, sorry it took me a while to put up a new post, I've been away the last couple of days and couldn't post anything.;)

Earendil
11-25-2002, 01:35 AM
*Greetings honarable high elves. i ran into some trouble on the way with orcs but i got through them. i have one question: i know of the betrayel of the blue istari and i know i am headed east but i do not know of whom will be my companions...*

ps-its ok glorfindel i was just wondering where you went to thats all..glad your back!;)

Carantalath
11-25-2002, 01:54 AM
Carantalath sent messengers to Lorien to warn them of her quest. She met the other elves and elf-friends that gathered in Rivendell and was pleased at everyone present. Though scared, she knew she must go on the journey to defeat the Blue Istari. She tried to muster as much courage as possible and she succeeded. She was ready for adventure and a victory for the good peoples of Middle Earth.

p.s. Sorry I haven't posted in a while. I haven't been online for many days.

Maeglin
11-25-2002, 02:01 AM
Earendil your companions are myself, Lhunsoroniel, Rasec, and Ponte.

Going to the South are Carantalath, Bethania, Ramagna, and Anira, though if Anira does not show up within the next 2 days Earendil will be going to the South so we have even parties going either way.

Earendil
11-25-2002, 02:38 AM
Earendil is ready to leave in either direction...night will soon fall upon them and as Earendil sits upon a rooftop watching the sky and looking over the city she hopes that the road that she takes will lead her to find her unknown father who she was seperated with long ago...

Maeglin
11-25-2002, 03:13 AM
Disregard this post its not really part of the role play but I think we have a little bit of a Star Wars scenario developing with Earendil here.:D :p

Ramagna
11-25-2002, 10:44 AM
I think it's OK, what you wrote, Earendil, it's always good to have more atmosphere in an RPG...

- after preparing for the trip south, ramagna came out under the clear sky and sat down aside carantalah -

*I hope for you you find what you are seeking, for all of us are in the search for something...
and I'm glad you elves and me are befriended, as the last bonds between the races of elves and men seem to perish, sad as it is...*

-then ramagna realizes something, he gets up, searches for glorfindel and asks:
*What exactly is our mission down south, Glorfindel, what are we going to find?*

Maeglin
11-25-2002, 08:27 PM
You are going south to the land of Harad, to find the fortress in which Palando dwells* and stop him and take his very weak ring of power that him and Allatar have tried to create for themselves and you will take his ring and his staff without getting killed in the process, thereby breaking his power of his army of men and orcs. The same is being done in the far East in Rhun to Allatar.

*I need help thinking of a name for a fortress for the two of them. You know how Saruman had Orthanc and Sauron had Barad-dur, can anyone think of a cool name like that for this?

Phenix
11-25-2002, 09:52 PM
as the others prepered for ther jurney Phenix started to improve teh defen of rivendell in case of an atak from teh wizard

Anira the Elf
11-26-2002, 03:45 AM
all of the sudden Ani comes at a full galop into the councel getting ready to leave. "sorry i'm late. i was delayed by a small hunting band of orcs who caught me off guard nad took me hastage. since the green ring my father gave me(it give a silent warning to all elves of Lothloien to come save the royal family) was out of reach, i couldn't escape until i coaxed one of them in to setting me free." then she stuck out her wrists, "i still have the marks. they need bandaging too," as she looked at the torn and brused flesh." at least i still have Anithea, my sword and my Uncle (many times removed) Beleg's long bow.*smiles* so please bring me up to date on the quest"

Ramagna
11-26-2002, 10:55 AM
Down in the deep south of Harad, Pallando sat over one of the last seeing stones in his Fortress ZAHADOOM, that had dungeons until deep under the earth...

He saw how the attacks on the fellowship of rivendell hat failed and anger arouse in him, how could those creatures defeat the armies of a maiar like him!

And so he walked out the door, down into his dungeons and to his secret, a beast of strenght and brutality, but with the ability to walk nearly unseen in shadows...
And thus he spoke:

*My precious warrior, you will soon have something better to eat than orc-flesh, you will soon lead an assault on those that try to keep me of my aims and you will not fail!*

@glorfindel: I hope that name and this about pallando is okay...

Ramagna
11-26-2002, 10:57 AM
- While Ramagna felt the forboding of evil upon the friends, he tried to help Ani with her wounds-

*Ani, do you think you will be strong enough to come with us in the south and get the evil ring that pallando made?*

Maeglin
11-27-2002, 12:20 AM
Allatar sat in the East going over plans via Seeing stone with Pallando, "soon all will be ready" he said.

Ramagna that was fine what you wrote, it was a great idea.:)

Carantalath
11-27-2002, 02:31 AM
Carantalath sent out messengers to tell the rest of the members of the company going south to meet her to have a meeting.
*Everyone, we must prepare to go against Pallando. We will be travelling south to the land of Harad but we must decide a route to take. The route must be the quickest and safest, if possible. I suggest that we stop in Lorien, my city, along the way.*
*Alas,* Carantalath continued. *I am not very good at directions and maps. I would be happy if someone would assist me or agree to be the head navigator on this quest.*

Anira the Elf
11-27-2002, 05:00 AM
"thank you for assisting me.(i am eternaly greatful;) And yes i will definatly be well enought to fight any evil that my harm this beautiful land." said Ani as she looked deep into Ramagna eyes. she saw something in him she had never seen in a man(elf??), yet she could not put her finger on it. "after inspecting the gause she turned to Caran." i can help u there. Since i am the high queen of Lorien then u are welcome to stay in my domain.i know the land inside and out and the surrounding area's farly well. (i also have an A+in geography:D )i will lead u there." then she added, "u are also welcome to use the maps in the library also. u will find them quite helpful."...

Carantalath
11-27-2002, 12:26 PM
This is out of character but I thought I was the ruler in Lorien. Glorfindel, do you happen to remember if it was me or Anira? Maybe I'm just stupid and am thinking of something else.

Maeglin
11-27-2002, 05:34 PM
Yes Carantalath you are the High Elf of Lorien, Anira is the Silver Elf of Lorien, but not the High one, she is second in command, I am not sure what she was talking about, Anira did you get lost somewhere?

Frodorocks
11-27-2002, 09:32 PM
So what are we going to do in the East? Ponte is here now.(I think):D

Maeglin
11-27-2002, 11:25 PM
We are going to stop Allatar and ruin his plans, we must find him and seize his ring and break his staff, thereby breaking his rule over his army, for they are only loyal to him because they are under his enchantment, they owe an allegiance to Gondor, and would not attack it willingly. As long as we stop at least 1(either Allatar or Palando) then the Peoples of Middle Earth will have victory, for if we stop one army we can get it too turn on the other if it is still under enchantment, the combined forces of Gondor and either Harad or Rhun will be no match for one army.

Now, is everyone just about ready to set off?

Ramagna
11-27-2002, 11:45 PM
- out of character -
@anira: said Ani as she looked deep into Ramagna eyes. she saw something in him she had never seen in a man(elf??),
Sounds quite interesting! And Ramagna is The Grey Beorning of Mirkwood in this story, a man that can turn into a Huge Grey Bear...
- in character -

*Yes, Glorfindel, I'm ready for the journey south and I think our friends are as well, Aniras injures healed quicker than I thought...*

- and Ramagna tries to spread hope so they do not fear but look straight into the eyes of evil -

Rasec
11-28-2002, 03:45 AM
- Yes, I am ready to set off. By the way, I will be ready for anything that may come! - said Rasec.

Ramagna
11-28-2002, 10:50 AM
- while the elves and elf-friends were preparing their journey, Pallandos beast was already on it's way, and it were poor men of Gondor that had to serve it as meal, and fear spread among them of a peril in the shadows, that would eat men flesh -

Ponte
11-28-2002, 03:43 PM
- I'm ready to set of. Búrun said.

Ramagna
11-28-2002, 05:21 PM
*So what way do we take south, those that are to get Pallandos ring? If we first travel east over the mountains, I can provide guard through some of my tribesmen down the river for a while, adn perhaps we could have a stay in Lorien...
Anyways, we should be well prepared, as the orcs have increades in numbers and are lurking in the woods of both of the sides of anduin and the mountains...*

Anira the Elf
11-28-2002, 07:48 PM
ok, in the forum i am queen of Lorien, but here i am 2nd in command??? interesting.( if u want to know the whole story, i'll tell u but i really choose not because of the length.)

"i'm definatly ready to take on whatever comes my way!!! for my friends and the good of everyone in Middle earth."

Yes I think we should be leaving now, lets get outta here, and be careful Phenix, do not let Rivendell fall, for that is our last hope against the enemy if we should fail.

Okay now I think the whole company should stay together until we reach Lothlorien, then we will split up.

Oh and it is early morning by the way.

Carantalath mounted her horse, Lilladora. Lilladora was so white in color that she seemed to glow a pale light. Carantalath followed Glorfindel and Earendil on the path out of Rivendell.

*It certainly is a dangerous road to Lothlorien. We must be careful and watch out for orcs and other foul creatures.*

the band of friends stop and turn around and Earendil greated Celebrien with a smile
"tis not for us to decide" she said looking over at Glorfindel"although the extra help won't hurt right Glorfindel?"

Rasec
11-30-2002, 05:34 AM
- I believe you may join us, Celebrien. - answered Rasec. - For I think noboby has any objection.

Now that we are out of the valley, I must consult with Carantalath and Thoughtful20 I forget your character name, but we must decide which is the best and safest route over the mountains.

Carantalath
11-30-2002, 04:56 PM
*We have many choices of where to go. We can cross the mountains to the east (where Bilbo crossed in The Hobbit), or we can climb over Caradhras, or we can go through Moria, or through the Gap of Rohan. It is a hard decision but I think the safest would be the Gap of Rohan, though it would take us the longest to actually cross the Misty Mountains.* Carantalath said to Glorfindel.

Maeglin
11-30-2002, 05:37 PM
It would be shorter to just cross over the mountains than it would to go all the way to the Gap of Rohan. And how dangerous is Moria now really? The Balrog has fallen, but I'm sure it must be swarming with orcs still, and Caradhras may not let us pass. So let us choose, and choose swiftly, what do you think Thoughtful20?

Anira the Elf
11-30-2002, 11:08 PM
" i would presume the Gap of Rohan would be the fastest way. Maeglin
12-01-2002, 07:21 PM
Well those who go East could maybe stop in Lorien, but for those going south that would be out of way, but you should stop in Minas Tirith or Osgiliath where the Son of Faramir's Grandson dwells, he will give you aid.

*the Eagle's tell us that several large bands of orcs are wreaking havoc on the lands around the mountains, and are preparing for an attack on Rivendell, we must somehow send word to Phenix and warn him of this so he can make preparations for a small battle if it is necessary*

12-01-2002, 08:30 PM

Earendil and I(mostly Earendil:)) have thought of a new route for those
of us going east.

What if we took the Middle Pass over the Misty Mountains and then traveled through Mirkwood south of the Mountains of Mirkwood get help from the Elves of Mirkwood, and then proceed via boat down the River Running into the Sea of Rhun and then go on from there towards the unknown lands to the East? Or we could all go through the Mines of Moria together and split up from there, those going to the South wood go to the Woods of Lothlorien and those going to the East would take the route I have already explained. The Gap of Rohan takes us that are going to Rhun too far south.

Earendil
12-02-2002, 02:20 AM
"twas only an idea" Earendil said smiling at Glorfindel.;)

Rasec
12-02-2002, 02:46 AM
- Sorry, Lord Glorfindel, but I am a bit lost - said Rasec. - Who are the ones going East and the ones going South? I hope it does not annoy you to repeat that. By the way, how many companions does our company have?

Maeglin
12-02-2002, 02:50 AM
There are 9 in the company, though I may have to send for Phenix before our errands are finished.

Going east is Me, Lhunsoroniel, Rasec, and Ponte. Going south is Carantalath, Bethania, Ramagna, and Anira. I have not yet decided where Celebrien will be going, we will worry about that when the it is time for the company to split up.

Earendil
12-02-2002, 03:32 AM
thats a good idea but i think glorfindel or someone wanted to stay together until we reach lorien but your idea would save alot of time!:D

Eöl
12-02-2002, 04:05 AM
Yeah, I know but still...I really think we should go my way. Because if we go through the High Pass of the mountains, then we will be very far north if we are going to Harad. But, if we split at the Moria gates then we will be in between the 2 countries. Then we can journey to the Gap Of Rohan, take a rest at Edoras and then journey to Minas Tirith. After that we can take the Harad Road to where we need to be.

*I say either of the ways you chose will be good, although, I repeat, I can provide some help for the east group if they come near mirkwood and the northern part of the Anduin, as my people have gained in numbers*

*But I say we have es well to hurry, as I scouted out a group of wargs (I hope that's the right expression for the huge wolves :D ) coming up from the south*

Meanwhile, the Company had reached Hollin. "I think we should rest here tonight, for in the words of Mithrandir 'Much evil must befall a country before it wholly forgets the Elves, if once they dwelt there'." Celebrien hops off his horse and spreads out his blanket, then goes in search of some wild game for supper.

Earendil
12-03-2002, 01:15 AM
Earendil dismounts and lays out a blanket and looks around. She removes her weapons and sets the on the ground next to her horse and softly whispers to Pellerion (her horse) to watch her weapons as she goes off to find water for the rest of the gruop.

Carantalath
12-03-2002, 03:10 AM
(This is continuing with the RPG.)

*Celebrien, that was good thinking on your part. We will save time if we split up at the gates of Moria.* Carantalath said. As the rest of the company went off to find food and water, Carantalath used her skill with fire to build a small fire that gave off little smoke.

She was eager to get out of the shadow of the mountains. They seemed so tall and menacing. She remembered what had happened with the Ringbearer and his companions in the mines of Moria and had a great fear of the mountains. Though the Balrog had perished, she still had a great fear of entering the mines. She'd heard the tales of long ago about Morgoth's balrogs and never wanted to see a live one.

By the time the company returned, the fire was still burning.

Earendil
12-03-2002, 03:17 AM
Earendil returned with a large container of water. and gave everyone a large drink and sat down and started carving something out of a small piece of wood...as she sat and watched the fire she felt a certain uneasiness.....

Rasec
12-03-2002, 03:44 AM
Rasec was comforted with the fire and the water, and he was wondering how long it would take for them to arrive in the Gates of Moria. He knew that they could walk fast, but would they be fast enough? This he did not know. Then he stopped thinking about it and got up and left the company, saying he was going to walk through the woods for a while. Therefore he disappeared in the middle of the forest and just came back on the time of dawn, although nobody noticed his arrival, for he could walk as softly as the leaves.

Now the company going south (Carantalath, Bethania, Ramagna, and Anira) had madethere way rather far for the 1st day. They were traveling to gethera as a group, and yet, the people of them never realy semed to talk to eachother. like friends...

Ramagna
12-03-2002, 10:44 AM
Ramagna, Celebrien and Glorfindel came back with not much on their hands, as these were still dead lands, but the elves never needed much...

As they were preparing their meal, Ramagna sat near Anira (in his man form), and started to talk to her, about her early years and her personal aims, as he was good in listening to people...

- But then, all looked up as they heard a single wolf howl disturbing the tranquility of the night -

*Keep within the secret of the camp fire* Ramagna shouted, *as those wargs never liked the fire bite*

-and Ramagna turned into his bear form to prepare for battle, when no other solution to the upcoming confrontation with the wargs could be found -

Glorfindel draws his sword, and it glows a faint blue-green, signifying both Wargs and orcs.

Carantalath
12-04-2002, 02:44 AM
Carantalath pulled out her sword and sat closer to the fire. She hadn't eaten that much for supper and she'd only had a little bit of water. She didn't feel like herself. She had the feeling that something bad was going to happen.

Rasec
12-04-2002, 03:49 AM
- Many! I can hear them! - cried Rasec. - I will go ahead into the woods and climb a tree to see if I can see how many they are.
Therefore Rasec took an arrow from his quivers and prepared his long bow in case he found a warg or an orc. Then he entered the woods, finding darkness and silence. He could only hear the voices of wolves far away. When he found a tall tree, he climbed it and, arriving at the top, he saw a big group of orcs and wargs walking towards the clearing where the comapany was. He immediately went back to the clearing and reported exactly what he saw. They were all worried but ready for the battle. There was no choice but to fight with them.

Anira the Elf
12-04-2002, 04:41 AM
Doing likewise Ani also notched an arrow on her long bow(which was almost as tall as her, only standing 5'3"). "Bring it on'"she snarled and pulled back the string even further, to the point where her musles and the string were strained.'calm down' she told herself.Taking a deep, deep breath, relaxing her hold a bit, and readied for the first onslot of warg and orcish fiends...

With her keen violet Eyes golden hair barely hidden by her elvish cloak hiding in the shadows an elf maiden was watching the group wondering whether she should help or hinder them and wondering when to approach. She stopped worrying and realesed to arrows simultaniously,

Carantalath

Carantalath held her sword in front of her body as the orcs and wargs entered the clearing. She tightened her grip on her sword and said, *Get ready to fight!*

Maeglin
12-05-2002, 12:10 AM
Glorfindel turned swiftly towards the direction that the arrows came from. He could not see who it was that shot the arrows, so he concluded that the person must be Elvish to be able to escape his keen eyes. "Anira, shoot an arrow back towards the direction the arrows came from, but not directly at the spot, we do not wish to hurt whoever it is, if the arrows are shot back towards us, but not aimed to kill, then we will know that this is a friend. But make haste with it Anira, Wargs and Orcs will be here soon, we cannot be distracted by other things!"

Maeglin
12-05-2002, 12:13 AM
Never mind that last order Anira, we do not have to time to deal with the unseen warrior, there is battle on our hands, fight with our true enemies! And if the mystery Elf is not an enemy, then let them come forward and assist us in battle!" Glorfindel then swings Glorsil and hews the head off of a great ugly warg.

Earendil
12-05-2002, 01:40 AM
And as the rest of the orcs and waargs came Earendil fired arrow after arrow...but soon they came close to her and she was forced to pull out her two elvish long knives and started slaying them. the orcs kept coming through the woods almost like all this was in a specific formation. and so she climbed up one of the huge trees and jumped from tree to tree until from above she could see them running towards the camp. she centered herself and pointing her bow down she shot at them from above.

Maeglin
12-05-2002, 01:51 AM
Glorfindel called for Asfaloth and leapt onto his back, he then stole silently into the woods and came around behind the orcs farthest back in the formation and began silently picking them off by shooting at them with his bow or swinging his mace at them from behind.

Earendil
12-05-2002, 02:01 AM
as Earendil was shooting she looked over and saw that despite her and glorfindel's efforts they were still coming swiftly to the camp and as she looked aruond for the answer she saw two large branches that were VERY thick(very hard to go through) and very long. so she had an idea...she lept over to them and dangled fom a higher branch and took out her knives and started to cut the two braches because of elvish magic they cut through most of the limbs and the two tree limbs fell and dangled from the tree like a screen and she lept down and faught the orcs stuck behind the screen...

Celebrien dodges behind a rock as a multitude of arrows rains into the clearing. He draws his sword Anguirel , it shines bright blue, and hews the head off the nearest orc. He turns, and then looks back with a start. The white marks on its face clearly identified it as an Uruk-Hai. "Jeez, these wizards have even made a new breed of Uruk-Hai...", he thought then turned and chopped the arms of another orc. He runs through the clearing like a silver streak, and five orcs fall dead behind him. He stands for a second when all of a sudden he is grabbed around the throat from behind by an Uruk-Hai. He struggles, then plants his feet and launches backward, then rolls off his foe. The orc stands and draws a large scimitar from a scabbard at it's side. Celebrien's sword lies nearby in the dust. He ducks as the sword swings over his head, then trips the orc and slits his throat as he falls. He stands rolls as an arrow flies over his head and hews the head off the nearest Warg. He sees Earendil surrounded by a multitude of Orcs on a nearby rock and kills 2 with his throwing knives, then rushes in with his long knives.

Rasec
12-05-2002, 05:06 AM
Rasec was killing lots of orcs with his arrows. He could loose three arows at the same time, and they all reached orcs and wargs' heads. He looked around for a moment. Far from the clearing, he noticed a mysterious elf loosing arrows to help the company. "Who is that elf? - wondered Rasec. "I and my companions would be glad to have a new member". Then he continued killing orcs and wargs, with either bow and sword, but he kept looking back at the helpful elf behind them.

In his huge bear form, Ramagna was like a slautherer among his enemies, but he didn't notice, that they were pulling him further and further apart from his friends... and although until now no one was a match for him, he was already bleeding heaviliy, cause the orcs spicked him wirth spears and arrows from afar, and his thick fur didn't keep all of them off him...
And then, he felt the strenght flowing out of his body from too much blood he had lost...
But again he let out his war cry that made tremble his enemies and he fought on in furious anger-

Celebrien kills an orc, then hears a roar that shakes his soul. It is Ramagna, fighting fiercely but losing ground quickly. Celebrien knows that Ramagna is in trouble if help doesn't arrive fast. He whirls, but is confronted by more Uruks, he kills one then draws a branch from the fire and melts back into the shadows at the edge of the clearing as he spears another Uruk. The others bend over their fallen captain, but Celebrien is already gone. He dashes around to the other side of the clearing and begins pulling orcs in and and slitting their throats as quietly as possible. Pretty soon the onlsalught in Ramagna grows less and less fierce as the odds are evened. Finally the orcs notice their dwindling numbers and begin to be more on guard. Celebrien reveals himself and draws his sword Anguirel. It's bright blue glow burns away the shadows around him and he steps forward to do battle...

Carantalath
12-05-2002, 11:27 PM
As the Uruk-hai began to surround all of the members of the company, Carantalath stood her ground as best as she could. She swung her sword at the nearest of the Uruk-hai and decapitated it. She began to get out of the fire light, using the shadows of the trees to hide in. She was followed into the trees and five Uruk-hai came after her. She cut the arm off one of them and stab another in the stomach but it was no use. They were strong and there were too many of them. Suddenly, she heard a terrible war cry and knew that it was Ramagna. He sounded in trouble. She swung her sword and sliced off more limbs of the orcs. She ran towards the sound of Ramagna but Celebrien was already there.

She was still followed by the orcs but they were wounded now and bleeding profusely. Carantalath killed the orcs that had followed her, though she was greatly injured in the process. She had a deep gash on her arm and she clutched at it. She was in great pain. Suddenly, she realized that Glorfindel wasn't anywhere to be seen.

*Hurry* she said to Celebrien and Ramagna. *We must find Glorfindel. He could be in trouble.*

With her keen elvish eyes The elf-maiden spotted Glorfindel it mattered little that she knew not who he was. She raced over to where he was surrounded killing orks in a fury of arrows and the flash of a sword. Any one who opposed the orks in such a reckless way deserved life

Glorfindel and the mystery warrior fought off the rest of the orcs quickly and violently. Glorfindel then thanked and asked the Elf maiden her name.....(are you gonna stick with Ms. Greenleaf or do you want a different name?), she will now be joining us on our quest to defeat Allatar and Pallando.

Glorfindel and the other raced to where they had heard Ramagna's cry and saw that more orcs were quickly flocking to the scene where he and Carantalath lay wounded, this called for drastic measures, with the help of the power in his ring he sent himself into the spirit/wraith world and called upon an elvish spell, the trees surrounding the wounded of the company fell down and formed a wall protecting them.

Leaving Ramagna and Carantalath where they were the rest of the company went out to deal with the last remaining orcs and wargs.

- It is not safe to send a bird we do not even know to contact Phenix. I will send Elgòfir too, for it is mine and it is absolutely trustful.
Then he raised his right arm and, with a sign, Elgòfir showed up flying quickly in Rasec's direction. The falcon landed and Rasec talked to it telepathically for a minute and then it flew away, certainly going to Rivendell.
- Are Ramagna and Carantalath too hurt? - asked he. - Let me see what I can do for them, for my father taught me everything he knew of healing.
He walked towards the two lain on the ground and cowered close to Ramagna. "Ramagna, can you hear me? I want you to be back in man form, so can try to heal your wounds". He did not move, but slowly he returned to man form. Then Rasec could see the wounds better. They were very grave and deep. "Sorry, friend. You will really have to wait for Phenix. It is not possible for me to heal them". Then he walked to Carantalath. Earendil had already bound her wounds, but Rasec found it better to remake that. So it happened.
When he finished, he woke up and carried, eith the help of Glorfindel, both Ramagna and Carantalath to the shadow of a tree, so they could rest in peace, without the heat of the Sun.

As it is the whole group is together, we split up later on, I thought I had made that clear, but I guess not, thats probably why there were people missing in that last scene, and I am supposed to be going East too so it makes the story sound wierd like that.

So we will wait here, but lead the company on Rasec and Celebrien, do not linger too long in one place, and go with speed! The rest of the company had already left to go on towards the Gates of Moria. Carantalath had a bad feeling that something horrible was coming after her and her friends. Carantalath had hidden when she'd seen the orcs. She saw there numbers and that there were too many for her to fight on her own. But as she hid, her uneasiness grew. She saw Glorfindel surrounded by attacking orcs. 'I can not let him fight alone,' she thought to herself. She came to the back of the orcs and began to fight. She sliced the head off of one and stab two more. The medallion that was given to her by Ramagna was glowing. She found that she had more strength in her and that she had a stronger need to fight, since these were also orcs and orcs had killed her friend Ramagna.

ooc: I know that some of you do not always read what I post in the main thread, but PLEASE, YOU MUST read what I have posted there most recently.

IC: There were still about 20 orcs between Glorfindel and Carantalath, and he knew they had a better chance of survival if they fought side by side together, he took out his spiked mace and began swinging around in all directions, everything it hit dropped dead or writhed in pain, he was not paying much attention to it but what he did see as he fought his way over to his companion was the heads of 2 orcs fly off and the arm of another.....

As Earendil fought she looked over at Charmiana who was wounded and ran over to block the blades of the orcs and defended her..."you must try and climb these rocks behind me for safety and i will not let them pass try and address your wound until the battle is over!" and Earendil started swiftly killing the orcs aruond them and making sure none would get to Charmiana.

Celebrien melts into the shadows and looses 15 arrows into the fray to draw the orcs away from Earendil and Charmiana. They run towards him but he is already gone to the other side of the clearing. He swings himself into a tree and begins raining arrows down on the crowd of angry orcs. They quickly spot him and try to climb the tree, but he leapt to another tree next to him, slid down it and begins slicing the living daylights out of the nearest orcs.

Ani looses 10 arrows in rappid sucsession that all hit their mark, but the orcs just kept on comming. Was their any end to them at all??? " we must get to their leader!!" she yelled st her friend who were fighting hard too.

Though Rasec was almost untiring, he felt tired of fighting those orcs, especially because they were so noisy and annoying. He sliced the head of one he thought would be the last orc he would kill, then he entered the woods and fell to the ground, sitting on his own, thoughtful. In a few minutes, the company managed to kill all the orcs and then Rasec went back to them. Everyone looked exhausted. They made a fire and rest. Some slept, some just relaxed. But they were all anxious to met Glorfindel again, bringing Phenix. For Rasec, they seemed to be near.

as everyone succeeded to rest Earendil climbed up to see how charmania's wound was...although charmania had already addressed it Earendil thought it had to be done over. after that she helped charmania down from the rocks and Earendil sat her down near the gruop and proceeded up to the high leadges aruond them and sat down and started to keep watch...

- As Carantalath touched the medaillon, Ramagna had given to her, he suddenly felt again a line to the real world, and he found he could even move things in reality, but only close to carantalath...
So he got there and tried to hit those orcs that came near her, and although he was still a ghost, he succeeded sometimes in hitting the orcs, and they were puzzled, by an invisible force around Carantalath, that was hurling them around... -

- the beast of Pallando saw out of the shadows, that the fighting was more in the hands of the orcs, cause although the elves were superiour fighters, the orcs just outnumbered them in masses, so it returned and journeyed towards the halls of Pallando, to bring the good news...
... but it went too early, the fights weren't over and only future knew about the outcome... -

Lhunsoroniel kept fighting , though she didn't like to kill. But the orcs were hurting her company, so she hacked at their heads with an even greater stength.

Eventually, the orcs were either killed or they fled. Carantalath sat down to catch her breath. She had felt a strange feeling during the battle, like she was being protected. All around her it had seemed like there was a protective circle and only few of the enemy got through it.

Carantalath turned to Phenix and said, *Welcome Phenix. You arrived just in time.*

Glorfindel turned toward Phenix "it is good to see you again Phenix, you will be a great addition and help to the company, but we must be going, we cannot linger! I fear more orcs will be coming not long from now, we must reach the West Gate of Moria, the rest of the company will be waiting for us there, ride on swiftly!" and with that Glorfindel leapt up onto Asfaloth and began riding quickly to Moria.

Rasec
12-19-2002, 06:13 AM
Rasec was barely tired of the last fight. He did not seem to have time to think about that, for his mind was full of another thought and his heart, full of another feeling. He knew that, very soon, some of his friends would have to walk on a different path. Yes, they were soon going to get apart. He felt sad and uncomfortable thinking about that, but he could not avoid it. Celebrien had become his best friend since he joined the company. And Rasec feared their splitting. celebrien noticed Rasec's sadness and approached him, but nothing he said. "Ramagna is already gone. I do not want to lose touch with anyone else. I still do not know where Celebrien is heading to, but I hope that, even taking different paths now, we can still meet and feast upon the Sun."

- As the fighting was over, and the reamaing orcs fled the battlefield, Ramagna still hunted them, but then he noticed, how anger and rage directed his will, and he tried to calm down, for this could as well be of evil nature, as ancient tales often spoke of evil ghosts, and seldom of good ones...
So he forced his embodied soul to come back to the company and as he recognized Rasecs sad mood, he tried to speak to him, hoped his ghost voice would be heard:
*Rasec, do not fear, as the bond of the friendship will keep us all together, Celebrien and you, all the others, and even the dead ones, like me, Ramagna*

he tried to catch the soul of Ramagna, to draw him to evil, and his plan was about to succeed, as he could direct him to anger and rage, but then the line between them was suddenly broken by the magic music, the two elven maiden were playing...
*thunder and lightning, he yelled in his fortress deep in the south, doom shall fall upon this elves and their companions!* -

Celebrien sat down next to Rasec. "Well tomorrow we part. I will be sad at our parting Rasec. I have not had many close friends but I am proud to say you are one of them. I do not wish to go south, but such, I feel is my fate. I wish terribly that I could go through Moria and do deeds against the orcs that are worthy of song." Sighing, he turned and headed for his blanket.

Glorfindel, Carantalath, Phenix and the 5 others rode up to the company and saw that something was wrong, "What happened?" asked Glorfindel, "We were ambushed by orcs again, but no one was badly hurt," replied Celebrien. "Very well then, the sooner we separate the better, perhaps it will confuse them and they will not know who to follow," said Glorfindel, "tonight we rest, tomorrow we shall go our separate ways. Return to Rivendell and protect the refuge, this is a dangerous road for such young elven warriors, valiant though you may be," Glorfindel said to the 5 companions of Phenix.

IC: more protection the 5 companions of Phenix may be, but it is only 5 more, and they are very young, they cannot do very much for us, and we wish for stealth in this journey, not strength, for by strength we know we can never defeat the armies of the Ithryn Luin, so they shall return to Rivendell and protect the city at all costs!
