RP XX: The Lost Library
Very few are those in Middle-earth who know about the Illunatars, a small, selected group of beings, who had the mission to observe and register the events of Middle-Earth.
The Illunatars were of different races, lived in different places and worshipped different Gods, but they all understood how important it was to observe, register and organize the events that took place in Middle-Earth. Of course, they all had their own lives, and devoted themselves to many activities, but they would all, from time to time, write down their observations and then take them to Illuranon, the secret underground city of the Illunatars.
Illuranon was located somewhere in the Hills of Evendim and meetings were held there from time to time. During these meetings, the Illunatars would discuss their doings and put their writing togethers in a place called Tiranar, or The Library.
Time went by and the Illunatars continued with their never ending quest. As the years passed, Tiranar was becomming bigger and bigger, greater and greater. And soon it became a magnificent library, in which one could find more facts and knowledge than many were afraid to conceive.
Among all the books stored in Tiranar, one was a greast value. It was the Harandor, the book which has been claimed to contain the writing of the Gods, the secrets of time, a glimpse at what was Eru's true intent within his creation of Arda. The only people who had access to harandor were the 3 wise, the beings who were the eternal leaders of the Illunatars.
And so one day, during the beggining of the 3rd age of Middle-earth, Illuranon was attacked. Legend says it was attacked by a strong, magnificent wizard of evil and selfish intent, who is yet to be named. This wizard broke deep into the hidden halls of Illuranon and slaughtered all those who put themselves in his way. He devastated Illuranon and stole Harandor, taking with him unbareble secrets, thus gaining overwhelming power. Legend says this wizard left Illuranon to go east, to his hidden lairs, and was never again seen or heard of...
Nearly a century later, a small group of adventurers set out to find Illuranon, and seek the truth for themselves. For they were far too curious to settle for the words of the legends, and they had the Gods by their sides and their entire lives in front of them...
