Hey, I'm only working through pronounciation and dipthongs at the moment (and making fair progress), but right now I'm learning Quenya, which is the simplest for of elvish. I was wondering: Does anybody know any Quenya?

You can learn Quenya from it, it's where I picked up some stuff.

The hard thing is you can learn all about the structure of the language. How to pronounce it and put sentences together but there is not much vocabulary available. The best people have been able to do is study the language a lot and try to approximate what Tolkien would have words be according to the rules he specified. Some words beyond what Tolkien set down have been "made up" as good and knowledgeable guesstimates.
So unfortunatly you can't really learn it and actually speak it for everyday things.
I have preferred to study the writing systems and apply the rules Tolkien laid out for that to my own language of English. Now that is something I can use in everyday applications.
I can speak a little Quenya. Or, I used to be able to, but now I've forgotten it. I like the grammar.

I would recommend those who wish to learn Quenya to visit the common Quenya course, it is in the guild of Tolkienology but available to all. Hurry, we have already studied lesson 1 about plural form (we put pronounciation lesson last) and there are not many places left. PM me or write at the course thread.

There is a 'her' and 'it', I believe. An Introduction to Elvish gives these forms of the nominative pronouns:
1. *enye 'I
2. elye 'thou
3.*erye 'she'; ?*ehya it
But don't follow thooose blindly! I am not a Quenya scholar, and only report what this (marvelous) book says. :)
inye tye-méla "I thee love" ~ independent example inye possibly 'emphatic', also ni "I", possibly not emphatic.
Also suffix pronoun -n, long form -nye "I", seen in utúlien, utúvienyes (-s "it")
Current theory from expert Helge Fauskanger: "3. person sg: -s "he, she, it" (there may also be gender-specific forms -ro "he", -rë "she")"

I'm suprised my sister hasn't replied to this yet, she loves elvish. Anyway my name's Quenyan and I quite sure that the word I choose isn't a "made up word".

Lómin... Do you mean as in the Ered Lómin, Echoing Mountains? I'm sure it's a word of Sindarin, but is it a nominative or genetive form (i.e. 'echo' or 'of echo')?

Hi, I'm Lomin's sister, I didn't reply before because I don't really know what I'm talking about when it comes to Elvish. As for Lomin, I had forgotten about the Echoing Mountains, but generally I see it translated as "shadow," although there are quite a few other words for that as well. I do believe in the case of Dor-Lomin it did have something to do with shadows, but after remembering the echo thing I suppose I couldn't be sure.
