Ok, this pole is to determine whom you find to be the fairest of the maidens of Lord of the Rings. This includes the movies and the books. We have seen enough pictures of Eowyn to determine her beauty by now. But, it is possible that our oppinions might change by the end of the Return of the King. It just depends on how it goes.

Oh, and btw, I couldn't really decide on one, so I allowed multiple choice answers on this. So go ahead and choose.

i think they are all very attractive in the films, in the book they are also very attactive (in my mind anyway), so its a hard choice, ummm im gonna say Arwen movie coz i think Liv is Very attractive and her character is portrayed as such.

I must say that I voted for a couple of different people because I had such a hard time deciding. Personally I think that Galadriel in the book was stunning and that she was well portrayed by Cate Blanchett in the film. However, I also loved Arwen's description in the books and found her to be beautiful in the movie. Eowyn in the book I never considered to be as gorgeous as Arwen, but I think that Miranda Otto in the movie is stunning. In the book, I think that I felt that Goldberry truly was the fairest creature of them all, but her part was so small and so special, that she is often overlooked. So here is how I voted.

Goldberry and Arwen in the book are the fairest in my opinion. However, I think that I truly find Eowyn in the film, at least what I have seen of her, to be the fairest in the films. This definately could change once I have seen The Two Towers and the Return of the King, so maybe in two years I will post a new poll.

It's a little hard to vote on "Tolkiens Galadriel" or something like that. I mean, are you asking me who is more beautiful, the Galadriel in my head or the Galadriel on screen? The Galadriel in my head doesn't have a very physical shape, more of an energy really. It's hard to vote on physical appearance when I've only really seen one.

Tolkien's Arwen..

Why?
Because you can just put the face of the most beautiful woman you think into that face.. :p
That's the good part of being a book, 1/2 of it is your own imagination too..

Though Liz Taylor is a good choice.. :)

I think you mean Liv Tyler.

Anyway, for some reason when I was last reading the Fellowship of the Ring, I was startled to find that an impression was growing on my mind that Goldberry was indeed one of the fairest creatures in Middle Earth. I don't know why. I also always loved Arwen because I love the night and she was like the night star of the elves.

We are told in LOTR, that Arwen is Luthien, the Morning Star of her people, returned. Since Tolkien himself thought Luthien the most beautiful, I must assume that therefore in LOTR, he would also have considered Arwen the most beautiful of all those in the book. So, I will go with the author. It seems the safest way! :D

Actually I think that Tolkien let his readers choose who they thought was the most beautiful because Gimli thought that Galadriel was 'that which is most fair' and he had already seen Arwen in Rivendell. However, Eomir thought that Arwen was the most beautiful and the two friends made a truce for they agreed that one was like the beauty of the evening and that the other was like the beauty of the morning, both stunning but different from the other.

AUUGH! My image of Arwen is forever ruined! :D

I think that Galadriel is still the queen babe of all ME. I just think that her status as portrayed by Tolkien shows she is the ultimate!

Cate Blanchett?....nnno.

Liz Taylor as Arwen? ROTFL!:D

Without a doubt my vote goes to the book Galadriel! I love everything about her and she's the fairest in my mind. Yes even exceeding the beauty of Luthien Tinúviel.:)

I would vote for Tolkien's Galadriel becasue when I was reading I pictured this angelic, uncomprehensive beautiful being. I would have to say PJ's Eowyn would be last because I saw some pictures and I dont think she is the most attractive... although I just saw another picture of her and I though she looked pretty hot! It's hard to tell as of yet, I guess I shouldnt judge until I see the movie. Then I'll vote.

Ok this is really just based on the movies,
and altough i wasnt actually expecting it before TTT I've gotta say that its Miranda Otto

Ok the reason well therre snot much competition - only 3 to choose from

(Tolkein's writing always presents woman as these angelic beings - which must say something about his psyche)
The elves in (the books too) are too inhuman - presented as too angelic how can you want something like that? (like in dare i say it sexual way).

Maybe they'd be ok to stick on a wall, anyway Eowyn is lovely, fiesty and passionate an i like her
