There seems to a great deal of interested members within the forum seeking a greater knowledge and understanding of a wide variety of Tolkiens languages, ranging from Quenya to Black Speech. I wonder if we could not organise ourselves enough, from the resources of learned members who may wish to contribute to this section, lessons, pronunciations, letters etc. for the benefit of us all.

I would be interested to hear ideas on how this could be arranged within the forum and how we could all learn and move forward. Languages are my weakness and any assistance, even as a group approach starting from the simplest to the most intricate form would greatly enhance my knowledge and no doubt that of many others:)

At the guild of Tolkienologists, we have been pondering the last week about such an effort. We decided to learn Quenya and found a scheme of organizing this course. We will follow a very good course found on the web. Right now, we are at the reading time of the first Lesson which ends on Friday. Of course everyone is invited.
Ancalagon, if you believe that the course should be placed here, we can start the appropriate first thread here on Friday.

That decision I will leave entirely up to your GuildMaster. He will consider the ideas presented and may even come up with new and improved ones!

In the way we study we have individual reading practices and at the end of the reading time a "professor" presents hi/her exercises and summary. These we solve together and then we go on to a new lesson and a new professor. We have also tryed to organize online lessons but that is very hard because of timezones. Some members, me included have had meetings on instant messenger or msn and this has been pretty good and we have even practiced pronounciation with microphones. We hope to extend these. All may still join even if we have already studied the first two lessons but if there is interest I could start a new quenya course here when we are done or even sooner. We are using Mr. Fauskanger's webcourse at www.ardalambion.com and it is very good since it also explains English grammar words for us foreigners!

The professor system is working out great and our two professors have made great exercises, thanks to Gate7Ole and Elenainnie
