*Possible spoilers ahead*
How will they conclude this masterpiece? What do you think that the last scene (or last scenes) will be in the ROTK movie?
I'm still trying to figure it out, and I really don't have a clue yet...
Thank you for your time.

I believe that Galadriel or Kate Blanchet will do a speeking thing like how she opened TFOTR. On the EE you hear on the directors talking bit, one of the female directors (i forget who) say that, "they opened the story how they thought was most appropriate, and that is how it ends on film 3"

ps it its on the first disc about the beggining when they do the prologue (sp), no more than 15 mins into it.

You know the book finishes with Sam going home? I was wondering if they would cut that.
"...Frodo smelled a sweet fragrance on the air and heard the sound of singing that came over the water. And then it seemed to him that as in his dream in the house of Bombadil, the grey rain-curtain turned all to silver glass and was rolled back, and he beheld white shores and beyond them a far green country under a swift sunrise."
Wouldn't a glimpse of this make a beautiful ending?

i'm guessing that they will end with a narration explaining how ME goes on (i,e, Sam getting married and having kids, Aragorn and Arwen ruling and Arwen dying after Aragorn).
In some of the pre-FoTR pictures, you saw shots of Arwen lying on a bed of petals or something that had most of us really confused thinking these were part of FoTR and wondering what the heck PJ was planning on doing. I think these are end shots detailing and showing her fate.

That would indeed make a beautiful ending. Of course I think they also should have some way of narrating what happened to the rest of the fellowship over time. They especially should say something about Sam getting to live a happy life with Rosie and then getting to go into the West.

Considering the fact that Rosie was actually introduced in FotR, and they made it pretty obvious that they she and Sam had a bit of a thing for each other, I'd say it's a pretty safe bet we'll see them together at the end of RotK. You wouldn't think they'd bother introducing her the way they did if they weren't planning on eventually showing her and Sam living happily ever after. :)

it would be interesting if they took some features form thew timeline in appendix b, i dont know you would narrate it
but you would see merry and piippin and whatever they were were doing and then there journey to rohan and gondor
you would get some of the story of aragorna nd arwen
perhaps they could show legolas building a ship and gimli leaving ME
sam passing westmarch and leaving ME
and the epic final line can be the last line form the timeline, and so the fellowship came to pass form Middle Earth(dont have my books with me)

I was thinking the same thing. Here's the line from the book...
"And when that ship passed an end was come in Middle-earth of the Followship of the Ring."
Galadriel speaking that line seems like a brilliant way to end the movie IMO. :D

But that wouldnt work since there is no notion of Tom Bombadil ANYWHERE in the films. It would make a great ending but it cant happen.

I don't think that there going to end with another dialogue. Tha would be boring for all the people who hadn't read the books. Besides, somewhere in the script they can have a character say that all will be well, and even Gandalf syays that an age of men is coming, so a dialogue really isn't necesarr, since most whon't carethat one of the hobbits wrote a red book and stuff like that. They should end it just how the book ends, with sam. "Well, I'm back"

During one the commentary tracks on the DVD of the EE, one of the writers (think it's Phillipa Boyens, not sure though) said that RotK will end with an epilogue spoken by Galadriel, in a similar fashion to the prologue they used at the beginning of FotR. :)
Exactly what the epilogue will be about is the unknown factor.

I agree with Rogue666666. That would've been the perfect ending, and I think PJ have that in mind. The only question is how he is going to do it. It is possible to do it both with or without the Scouring of the Shire, and also without all the Ringbearers going west.

Just becuase something is said does not meen that it will be done. They may cut it out later or decide they don't want it to end that way. We won't know untill the movie is released. :D

For what it's worth there is a hint here as to what the last scene might be:
http://www.empireonline.co.uk/news/news.asp?4365
The last paragraph says this:
The final scene of the film, which takes place across the landscape of the Grey Havens is tipped by the director to be his favourite of all three films, the high point of the story and what everything has been working towards. "To me, it's a culmination of the entire story," he says." It represents what it is to give and what it is to lose. That scene is probably the most powerful part of the entire film."
Knowing PJ, though, anything can change. But it's great to hear him saying how, in a film with battles of "200,000" soldiers, and a great spider, and shifting armies, and high fantasy, "the most powerful part of the entire film" is charachter moment at the very end.

I had hoped that would be the way the ended the film. Unless of course they added some stuff from the appendixes about what happened to the rest of the fellowship in time. That would have been cool.

And from the Grey Havens we could have followed Sam back to the Shire, and hear his famous line:
"Well, I'm back"
IMO that would've been more powerful. No matter what it represents at the Grey Havens, the return of Sam would be a perfect way of telling that life goes on.

it could still be a monologue over the end of the grey havens though, either one will satisfy me though

Actually if you listen to the writer commentary they say how the film ends how it starts, with Galadriel talking. I really like the idea of this.

I too would like the films to end with commentary like they began. It would be neat to have Galadriel or Arwen speaking in Elvish and English about how the story of the ring has finally come to an end. It would even be neat for it to end the way it began ...
"The World Has Changed ..."

Galardriel's line of the world has changed is much stronger than Treebeards saying of it in RotK.

...That it would be best to see Frodo headed off to the Grey Havens and then switch to Sam walking back into his house, saying "Well, I'm back," fade to black, and go to an end speech by Galadriel.
