As you are aware, an auction was held recently offering leadership of this Guild to one who would come up with the best bid. Maedhros was successful in that bid and was voted by both members and judges alike by a clear majority of 4-0.

I trust you will welcome Maedhros to the Guild and together take it forward in the spirit with which it began.

So it begins, a new time for the Guild of Scholars.
What the guild will be looking for is this:
People who can THINK. Age is not important, but a good mind and a semblance of wit are.
I stole that line from someone who was once upon a time my friend.

The purpose of the Scholars guild should be to enjoy discussing Tolkien. The books are pure magic. It will be a place where ideas will flow freely. The guild will be a tribute to the works of Tolkien.

As of now, there are no members in the Guild. Persons who were in the Guild prior to the bid, will have to reapply to the Guild. This is not meant to disrespect anyone, but to ensure that the members want to engage in the guild Activities.

For anyone who has not figured this out yet, I am no longer guildleader, Maedhros has taken over the posision for me

Maedhros, if you ever need any help with the guild feel free to pm me and I will do what I can to help. But for now I am resigning from the guild, and do wish you wil be able to turn this guild into something that TTF members will be able to truely enjoy. Good luck!

You certainly can join Nenya, however due to the circumstances in the Guild of Tolkienology, the Guild of Scholar's Hall will not accept new members from Tolkienology until Grond returns to the forum.

BTW, Elfarmari, this is a debating guild. If you, join the Guild of Scholars you will have to leave the Guild of Tolkienology.
