His eye is FIXED on rivendell

Elrond says this. If elrond is so wise wouldnt he know that OBVIOUSlY sauron would keep his gaze on his closest foe. And also he said his people were leaving Middle-earth. Why would sauron watch a refuge for people who are decreasing with or without him?:confused:

But are you sure Sauron knew the ring was in Rivendell? The Nazgul knew and I assume they told Sauron but maybe they didnt. I mean, as far as he knew Gondor had the ring.
