I have some questions. Well, Elros and Elrond, since they were sons of an elf and a human, they could decide if they were elf or human. Ok. But when they choose to be elf they get immortal and when they choose to be human they die?! That seems like obvious, but I was thinking to myself that this is kind of strange. I don't know why. And how do they choose this? They just go there and say "I want to be an elf" or human?? Or is there a ritual or something? I'm confused. Hope you are able to answer it. Yes, I have read The Silmarillion.

That was a good question Rasec, and we'll have to do some delving before we find the answer to that one. Oh and by the way this is going to be a thread for realllly hard questions to answer that we need to do some more researching to get the answers to, but first please post your questions in another thread that we have, and then it will be decided if it should be in this thread, Thanks

I'm not sure if that question has a point cuz we are already talking about Dior in The Line Of Elrond thread, but I will answer the best I can...This is really a matter of opinion, but I think that Luthien only gave up her immortality and not her heritage so Dior was still part Maiar, just not immortal or of Elf-kind.

No no not the main thread! Start a new thread and we can make a discussion out of that question, just make sure you put "Guild of Elves:" and then whatever you want to name it.

Wait, isn't this a thread to post questions about the Eldar that need answering? I didn't know they had to be about the line of Elrond...

They can be about anything, but first put any questions not related to that thread in the "random questions" thread, if nobody knows the answer, then the question then gets placed here, and eventually someone will try to find the answer.
