I don't think they're releasing ROTK pictures yet so its probably someone from TTT.

That is indeed Denethor who is being portrayed by John Noble.

He does't look like I expected him to. But then again lots of people didn't but most of them worked out fine.

What did they do to his hair!? I think he looks so strange!

I don't think they're releasing ROTK pictures
I have found very few picture that I think are from ROTK. Some must have escaped on the net. I found one with Isengard all destroyed(then site went down last week and I didn't save the picture!), but that might be from TTT...

Was that Denethor? First I thought it was Wormtongue! For some reason I have always imagined Denethor as older, with white hair.

But, of course, until FotR I had always imagined Glorfindel to be a male with the name Glorfindel, not a female named Arwen. :p

No wormtongue is much more greasy looking than that.

I thought he would be like Theoden, at least something alike.

He does look like Grima...

I always though Theoden and Denethor to be the same! I don't know why...
That picture creeps me out! For some reason:rolleyes: And he wouldn't look like Boromir's or Faramir's dad

This is Grima actually. I imagined him much the same myself.

Doesn't look anything like Denethor

I hate Grima! What he did to my poor favorite King Theoden:(:D

It would conjure up memories of Space Cowboys for me if he played in it.

To me it would be 'The Needle' but perhaps only RD knows what I'm talking about?

Is that suposed to be Denethor? If if is he is nothing like I imagined him!... and seeing the movie and how he was scriptred... it was horrid!
The Denethor flare was one of the worst scripts in this whole movie series.

I don`t like Denethor, too. I don`t image him like the actor of the movies and I don`t like him in the books. Of course I hate Grima and I think the actor is really like him.

I always thought the guy who portrayed Denethor was amazing (John Noble) and the scene with him and Ian McKellan in the throne room was quite intense.

I've said this quite a number of times, but I always envisioned Denethor to be more like he was portrayed in the movie when I read the book: a very crazy, bitter old man.

I don't like Denethor. I didn't like him in the books, and I don't like him in the movie.

Of course he's not really meant to be likeable, either way. Perhaps a little tragic, but not likeable.

But I despised the movie version of his character. They removed the few traces of humanity that were there and made him into a charicature. There was none of the fading grandeur and subtlety of a man in whom the blood of numenor ran nearly true. This was not a great, proud man broken, but a bad apple finally showing rot.

Well, that's John Noble, the actor who portrayed him in the films (whom I think did a marvelous job). There will always be a shock to one degree or another for those who've formed a clear vision of the characters from reading the books, when they see the movies for the first time. But your personal vision is absolutely legitimate!

....the actor who portrayed him in the films (whom I think did a marvelous job).
To borrow a phrase, he looks fair, but feels foul. The actor looks and sounds right, but is made to do and say all the wrong things.
