Just saw an interview with Liv Tyler on Norwegian TV this weekend. There she said something about her Arwen part that I found interesting.
She was not comfortable with the first scripts of Arwen, because it went too far away from the book. She supposedly argued this with PJ and the other producers, and as a concequence of that, Arwen's part in the movie was diminished!
That made me wonder what they were thinking about initially.
Any comments, anyone?

Maybe a little bump and grind in The Prancing Pony :D
Makes me think of the funniest thing in the extra DVDs on the EE version. When I saw a Uru Khai dancing. That was a hoot.

Nah, it was one of those extra CDs that came with the EE. Backstage stuff. There was a band playing (I think, maybe just music) where a lot of the actors in makeup were relaxing and a Uruk Hai was getting down. It was the funniest thing.

I do not know why there is such a worry with Arwen. It isn't like PJ could have just placed her into the ROTK film without fleshing her story with Aragorn out a bit first.
I am glad that Liv believed that the character had to be more true to the books, or at least functionally accurate, because creating a storyline for her could have ended up much worse.
It comes off pretty well now.
