I felt the opposite way. helm's Deep left me wanting a little more.

My comments from another board:

It was good. Not excellent, but good. I was a little dissapointed when I left the theater. It seems like everything was done with too much haste. Also, Aragorn's was downplayed a pinch it seems to me in the story and he is probably my favorite character. Fortunately the King will be returning next Christmas though.

I liked Gollum. I thought Smeagol was done well.

A few scenes made me tear up too.

Gimli will make you laugh too. And legolas did some fancy work getting on the horse with Gimli :D

There were some very good scenes but I really expected the Battle at Helm's Deep to be much more entertaining. Maybe more realism in the gore department but the PG-13 rating probably resricted that. I was expecting to be blown away with the battle at Helm's Deep but I wasn't and that was a really big dissapointment for me. The battle was marketed quite a bit and I expected more.

There were definately some great scenes though. I'll be waiting for the RotK next Christmas :)

Oh, I think you'll love Gollum - he has to be the most realistic CGI character I've ever seen put to film.

Just went to see it. It is a very, very good movie, though not as good as FOTR. I don't know, but it just didn't want to make you jump out of your seat as much.

Gollum is simply AWESOME. His character is captured sooo perfectly. Gimli is cool, Legolas is cool, Gandalf is cool, the Ents are awesome, and so on and so forth.

I have two major problems with changes made from the book, but I won't tell. (But believe me, one is MAJOR!)

Don't worry, the extended version will be R-rated for limbs and heads flying during Helm's Deep. :D

Overall it's about a 4-4.5 star movie. MUST SEE IT AGAIN.:D

I think you just have to accept it as a movie and not as the book and then you can like it. I was upset about Faramir's character since he was my favorite in the books but you can't really expect everything to be the same in a movie adaptation.

yeah, reading a book and watcching it on tv can be quite different. Peter J should be given a considerable poetic license.

But if they are making a big deal about how true to the books they are bing then may a pox fall upon their heads ;)

Yup, I had a big problem with this one, plus how Faramir was portrayed. Otherwise nothing really bothered me at all, 'cept maybe the Elven warriors at Helm's Deep.

Gollum was the most incredible thing I've seen in a movie. The level of realism and interaction between the CG character and the live-action was absolutely amazing.
I went and saw it twice on opening day and it was even better the second time. It's the shortest 3 hour movie ever. Why wasn't it 5 or 6 hours?? :D

I was a little dissapointed when I left the theater. It seems like everything was done with too much haste.

i dont know how to do the quote things like u gys do but bare with me.ok the above is a quote someone else said. i agree with you, but what can you expect in 3 hours? give pj a break i say. for some reason when people go see a movie thats based off a book, they want it EXACTLY like it is in the book, page for page word for word. but you simply cant do that. not unless you want a 30 hour long movie or something, which i wouldnt mind watching, but lets face it, i dont think he would have made money. infact he would have lost alot of money.

I agree with entirely. Films can't be made word for word but TTT was pretty close and even though it was quite hasty it was Awesome all the same.

I'm sorry but how can anyone have been disappointed with The Two Towers? It was absolutely brilliant, I came out the cinema and well I loved it. I both laughed and came near to tears, Smeagol was so touching, I hate Gollum with a vengence and I love/pity Smeagol who couldn't! I take my hat off to Peter Jackson again (If I were wearing one!) All the parts I was worried about like elves at Helm's Deep (still don't see why they were really there except to kill off poor Haldir {that were v. sad} and to show that elves are excellent warriors, what was that about the alliance between elves and men still strong? Whose guarding Lorien!?)
The elvish in that was beautiful and so much but I still want more!
The bannishment of Eomer was quite clever, Erkambrand would just have been another character and that really worked well, Although Frodo and Sam never go to Osgiliath it wsa good how they gave Faramir a reason to be there for ROTK. They portrayed Faramir a little too harshy for my liking, but the capture of Smeagol from the Forbidden Pool and his transformation back into Gollum was great.
OK, I'm gonner shut up now before u guys attempt to chuck something at me! Mae carnen PJ!

I just saw it! The helms deep battle was the best! Legolas was in it a lot more than the last one, same with Gimli! I cannot wait until Return Of The King comes to theatres!
