OOC: Here is a list of the members in this RPG:
Glorfindel1187
Lhunsoroniel
Rasec
Earendil
Charmania
Nefmariel
Isal Celebalda
Aragorn Rocks
Please continuing posting here just as you were in the Rivendell thread, but if you have not read the last few posts of that thread I suggest doing so.
IC: The company watched as the gates of Moria slowly opened, then they walked slowly through, into the dark gloom of the ancient mines. Glorfindel lit a torch, and then nodded to Rasec to do the same. He then spoke, "be on your guard, as far as I know nothing dwells in these caves, the orcs were driven from here long ago, and the dwarves never returned for fear of what happened here centuries ago, but all the same be watchful, there may still be a few orcs lingering, and there may be evil and fouler things than orcs in these accursed mines." He looked around at the floor, it was littered with Dwarf and Orc skeletons from long ago, he then continued slowly and carefully on.

I do not understand what the dwarves saw in a place like this, even gold cannot shine without the sun.
Maeglin

I do not know either, but they were born of the earth, it is the makeup of their body, and it is in their blood. In the earth is where they belong and they love it their, the stunted people do not need the sun very often.
Frodorocks

At least they had torches and lamps. But still, I would long for the sun. Not many plants can grow without the sun, just fungus, and warped sickly plants. It will be a happy day when the company leaves Moria.

As Earendil walked along with her torch she could still here the mornful sounds of the Dwarfs' battle long ago...and all together it stopped and she continued to follow her company into the darkness....

The ghostly sounds the company had heard were making Lhunsoroniel uneasy. She gripped Sting, blessing Elbereth that it wasn't glowing.

It will take us several days to get through the mines, let us hope that our presence may go unnoticed by anything that may be lingering still in this accursed place.

after a few days of walking through the mines without any disturbance they reached a fork in the "road". "Here long ago is where that fool of a Took Peregrin dropped a stone down the well, probably awakening the orcs and getting the attention of them and the Balrog, but in the end nothing terrible came of it, Peregrin now rests with Eomer, king of the Mark, and Meriadoc Brandybuck, may they rest in peace forever."

OOC: #1 Legolas there is no Frodo, this is not the Fellowship of the Ring, we are doing a Role Play Game, oooh I forgot how late you came so you don't know what the story is, but for an overview of what's going on read the very last post of the first page in the thread called "Guild of Elves: Rivendell", and then read the last page or so, that should give you enough of an idea of what we're doing, but there aren't any hobbits here.;)
IC: Glorfindel drew Glorsil and feinted a charge towards the orcs, but instead he quickly drew his dagger and threw it straight into one of their necks, a look of fear and anger came over the faces of the orcs.....

OOC:
I am a Red-Elf of Rivendell in the guild, and I was asked to replace Rasec in this RPG.
IC:
As the Cave Troll lumbered forwards ignoring the arrows bouncing off of it's body, an enchanted music was suddenly heard by all. Every person around paused, looking for the bard from which it came. As the Cave Troll looked up at a balcony from whence the music came, a bard could be seen strumming on his lute. As the beast thought about what to do, puzzled by this, the elf swung the lute onto his back and pulled out his bow. Almost as fast as Legolas had been shooting before, Isal Celebalda began to shoot with deadly accuracy into the Troll's eyes.
"I am here to join you, my friends," he shouted as he narrowly avoided a swipe from the Cave Troll's chains, hitting a pillar beside the elf. After a few seconds when the dust had cleared he yelled, "May I have some assistance?"
Diving down from the balcony, rolling as he hit the floor, he limped across to the company whilst arrows whizzed around him. Collapsing next to Glorfindel, right arm still clutching his bow, he moved his left arm to reveal a long stone splinter embedded in his side.
"Damn Troll got me, it seems. I know you don't know me, but I beg you... Please help." He sagged against a rock, wincing in pain. "I wish to join your quest, but I cannot do so without your trust and assistance right now. Would you be so kind as to remove this?"

OOC: #1Legolas#1, again, there is no Frodo! We are simply trying to get through Moria alive right now, Frodo has already sailed away, this RP takes place many years after LotR.
IC: Glorfindel looked at the splinter in the newcomer's side, "I am not master of healing, not comparable to my friend Phenix, who, alas, has just left on the other part of this quest, but I will do what I can," as he said this two orcs came up behind him, he spun around quickly and in one swift motion hewed the heads off of both of them. He then quickly drew out his bow and placed an arrow into the neck of the troll. "Hold still," he said, turning back to the new Elf, and then, very carefully and quickly, he pulled the splinter from the stranger. As he did so, the newcomer let out a gasp of pain, "stay here, don't move, and try not to get killed my friend, there is nothing more we can do for you until we are in safety, but the wound must be cleaned and bandaged, just be patient while we take care of these orcs and this great ugly troll."

OOC:Sorry, Glorfindel1187, I forgot,anyways.
IC:While our battle with the Cave Troll, more Moria Orcs come.
"We cannot hold them off for much longer, but Ill try my best to hold them off..." The Orcs start shooting arrows and charging."Get ready." He sees an Orc aiming strait at him he takes out his bow. "Fire." He shoots the Orc right between it's stomach and lungs. He sees the new elf almost completely healed, but he still has a wound. "Be done soon Glorfindel1187, we will try our best to hold them off."
Nefmariel
01-01-2003, 09:48 PM
while the others are distracting the troll, it rears its head in rage, I shoot it in the neck and it falls backwards squishing half the orcs, she keeps shooting but her aim gets worse just as her pain in her uper right arm.
Earendil
01-02-2003, 12:03 AM
Earendil was shootting orcs from a low cliff but as she saw Glorfindel in trouble healing a new elf she jumped down pulled out her two long knives and started to hold them off..."Glorfindel do what you can to bandage his wound and when we get to safe gruond i will use my knowledge of healing i have from rivendell and heal this new elf! right now we need your fighting power the orcs still come strong any ideas? should we seal the entrance something?"
Maeglin
01-02-2003, 12:44 AM
OOC: #1Legolas#1 you don't have to put the numbers after my name lol.:D, Nefmariel and #1Legolas#1 just so you know, both of the RP's are part of the same story, but to keep things less confusing I had us split into two threads because we are all on the same quest in the RPG, but there are 2 companies going different ways, I'll probably make us join up again into one thread before the end, so anyway if you could try to pick one thread and stick with it, I suggest one of you going to that one and one staying in this one, but I know you 2 are friends so its up to you.;)
IC: Glorfindel bandaged the wound as fast as he could, then got up and drew his sword in his right hand and his mace in his left, "No Earendil, do not seal the doors! If we do that we will be sealing ourselves into a corner, we must fight through them, if we can." He then swung his mace around his head several times, and when it generated enough speed, he released it, it hit the troll directly in the head, and the creature dropped dead, but there were still several orcs left. Fighting side by side Glorfindel and Earendil fought viciously through several orcs, they must have killed at least 20, after that the rest fled. Glorfindel then went and picked up his mace and his sword, "we cannot linger long, they will be back soon, and in greater numbers. Do what you can for the newcomer Earendil, but be quick. What is your name, friend?" said Glorfindel turning to the stranger.
Earendil
01-02-2003, 12:50 AM
as Glorfindel ask Earendil jumped to the stranger's side and using elvish magic closed the wound which made the stranger yell a yell of pain and Earendil re bandaged the wound and picked the stranger up onto her back and ran side by side with Glorfindel to safer gruond!!

OOC: Sorry I wasn't here, my dad kicked me offline for a day.
IC: Lhunsoroniel looked behind her, where the orcs had been and hoped that they wouldn't come back. If they do, I'll be here this time. Lhunsoroniel pulled her blade, Sting, out of it's sheath and looked at it glistening in the torchlight. There was still a trace of blue, but the orcs must have been very far off.
Earendil
01-02-2003, 01:17 AM
Earendil saw Lhunsoroniel standing by the entrance as she turned back to check one the stranger who now seemed to be unconcious! "Lhunsoroniel you must come with us it is not safe to be near the entrance Glorfindel takes us to safer ground hurry many more orcs shall be upon us!!"

OOC: Ok, Glorfindel, I wont use number after your name.
IC: Everybody gets out. Legolas looks back to see if theres any half-alive Orcs. He spots one up on a cliff. Legolas takes his bow out quickly, followed by an arrow. With one shot he kills the ugly orc. He goes runs off to catch up with the group. "There a door there must be a way to open it."

Isal Celebalda
01-02-2003, 09:24 PM
Almost completely healed by the powers of the party, the newcomer stood up, slowly.
"My friends, seeing as we do not appear to be under any immediate danger I would like to introduce myself and my quest. I am Isal Celebalda, an elf born many years ago in the land that used to be known as Ossiriand. My personal quest is very different to your own, as I am sure you will realise when I tell you, but I will tell you that tale when we are safer. I simply wish to explain to you now why I have joined you.
"I had heard of a great party travelling through Moria, and knowing of it's dangers I wished to attempt to help. My journey leads me through all parts of middle-earth, and I had not ever before travelled through Moria. I therefore thought to take advantage of your quest and join you through it. I do not, alas, know what it is, however. What is you quest, my lords? What are your names?"
Maeglin
01-02-2003, 10:02 PM
"Our names? Our names are Glorfindel, Earendil, Lhunsoroniel, Nefmariel, and Charmania. Originally there were many others, but one fell several days ago when we were ambushed by orcs, and the others have taken a different route to a different land. Our task is this: perhaps you have heard of Gandalf the White/Grey and his order of wizards (istari), and I think you know of at least 2 of his order, Radagast the Brown and Saruman the White. But there were 2 others that we never knew the fate of, until now. They were Allatar and Pallando the Blue, together they are known as the Ithryn Luin. They have fallen into evil, much like Saruman did, and they have bred armies of orcs and evil men and cast them under a spell to serve them. They also have created rings of power for themselves, although these rings do not compare in power to the One Ring, they still have some power, with these rings they keep their armies under their command. Now, one has a fortress in the South in the land of Harad, and the other in the East in the land of Rhun, the rest of our company is on their way to Rhun, we are going towards Harad. We must get into the fortress by stealth, for in numbers the armies of the West cannot defeat them, so we must enter by stealth and either destroy Them or Their Rings, for if these men were not under their spell they would be fighting for the West and Gondor, for they owe the king an allegiance, so if we stop the spell then it will be a very easy battle with some orcs that must be won.
But now, we cannot linger here any longer, let us get out of these accursed mines, to the Bridge of Khazad-dhum! But be on your guard, there are nameless things in the deep that may have climbed Durin's stair, there are things even more dreadful than a Balrog, though I do not think they will have climbed to the the higher halls, even so, be wary."

But where was Charmiana (out christmas and New years partying) Charmiana was slowly making her way to where she could see the huge creature that was tracking them/ to herself damn my curiosity but I must see what is there. For the dwarves with their greed woke many monsters and perhaps this one is not tracking us. Perhaps it is only wants us off its land ... and it willl leave us alone? perhaps that is wishful thinking. Despite her fear she continued

IC: "This is no Balrog, nor does it work for the Ithryn Luin, it is a demon of the Ancient World, that is true, but not a Balrog, it is something much worse. As far as I know only 3 or so of this creature were Bred by the dark lord, a "Dralrog"(he he a cross between a Balrog and a Dragon, what do you guys think of my idea?:D). Swords will be no use here, only I, among all of us, have seen the light of the two trees, and although that makes me powerful, this a foe beyond me, and beyond any of you, I have seen it once, long ago, at Gondolin, if you wish to live, there is one thing that you can do, RUN!" And with that Glorfindel set off at a sprint, faster than he had ever run in his either of his lives.

OOC: I am not a senior member, I'm relatively new myself, but as far as I know you should apply in the main guild topic at the topic of this section of the forum, the one called "Sticky: Guild of Elves and Elf-friends" is the one you need. But as far as I know, they're always after new members so go there and ask now!
IC:
"I don't know what it is, but I don't like it. To my trained ear for echo's of the Song of Illuvatar, I'd say this sounds like an echo of the dischorded part of the song: the part of the song sung by Melkor. Melkor, the dark valar Morgoth. I suggest we leave here, for I sense great power."
With haste, the newcomer begins to sprint and takes out this bow as he does so, gesturing for the others to follow.
Maeglin
01-04-2003, 06:34 PM
Glorfindel went sprinting towards the bridge and began to cross it, but he was going too fast, and as he was crossing, he lost his footing and hit the stone bridge hard, then went rolling off of the edge, but he did not fall down into the darkness below, as he was falling off he grabbed the edge, and was now hanging on by just one hand.....

Lhunsoroniel quickly grabbed Glorfindel's hand and pulled him up onto the bridge, "Are you all right? I don't think one of us would come out of the fall as well as Gandalf did." Run fast everyone, but be careful! It wouldn't be good to lose people, just when we're so close to being out of here!

01-04-2003, 08:32 PM
As Isal followed the company he turned and glanced back at the monstrosity following the party. He gasped with the dread filling his heart as he looked into the mirky darkness, and stumbled mid-way across the bridge. Almost losing his footing, he cried out for help. As he turned to face forward again he caught his balance just in time, and began with renewed haste to sprint. Once the party had crossed the bridge, still running for their lives, Isal began to pass them one by one. As he passed Glorfindel at the front of the group, he shouted "My friends, do not look back! It took all of my might to resist it's will! Run, run as you've never run before! You'd go faster than you are now, had you seen what stalks us!"
Maeglin
01-04-2003, 08:44 PM
Heedless of the warning, Glorfindel turned to look at the monster. "I have seen the light of the 2 trees, and I will risk a look, nothing so dangerous should be living in Middle-Earth!" But as he turned fiery arrow from the creatures bow went into and through his shoulder. The beast looked as if ready to charge, and the whole company went running out of the East Gate of Moria.
"I do not think it will leave the mines, not in the light of day anyway, but we must get away from here as fast as possible. Just let me tend to this arrow in my shoulder, and I think I shall be able to continue, though slowly."
Isal Celebalda
01-04-2003, 09:15 PM
"I am only thankful we have finally left these mines and that your wound is not mortal. You tended to my hurt, now allow me to tend to yours before we continue our journey... that is, if you will allow me to join you?"
As Glorfindel winced with pain, Isal treated the wound as best he could. Although his healing powers were far below those of Glorfindel, the wound was closed up. It wasn't perfect, but Isal had done his best. In his heart he felt already that a strong bond had formed between himself and Glorfindel. As he looked up at the midday sun shining over the plains far below, Isal felt as free as the air. In his mind he was sure that this new friendship, this couragous fellowship and this terrible quest would go down in history and in song as the greatest adventure of the Fourth Age.
"Come on, my friends, we must begin to move on..." said Isal, as he began to lead the way forth.

"Yes we will rest now, we should find a place where we can be at least partially hidden." Glorfindel had not told anyone, but his shoulder had been feeling worse all day,and he felt the strenght leaving his body, he suspected that it may have had a poison or other powerful and deadly substance of some kind, but he kept this to himself, and went off to find a place where he could tend to it in secret, he did not want to alarm any of his companions by letting them see how bad it had become.

As Glorfindel heard the concern in the party's voice's about his health, he suddenly began to droop. Isal runs over and catches him in mid-fall. He looks up at Nefmariel and Earendil, and says "I have small knowledge of wounds of this kind... I fear it is my fault the wound has got this bad, for I did not administer to it expecting poison. Please, could you help me?"
Laying Glorfindel down on some soft bracken, the party gathered round as Nefmariel and Earendil began their work.

As the group attended to Glorfindel's wound, a new voice startled them: "It is unusual to see a group of elves situated outside the mines of Moria, as so often I have been told they live in Rivindell." The group turned round and quickly, and saw a female human standing with a wry smile on her face. They could see that beneath her cloak she had a sword. The group readied their weapons. "Put away the weapons, you won't need them. I'm not an advisary. In fact, I came in search of you. I was told an alliance made up mostly of elves was coming to our aid, and I was told to assist you. "However", she said, with a puzzled look on her face "I was told there would be more of you in number."
The group were still wary of her, but a gradual look of acceptance came over most of their faces. Once again she spoke. "I am no expert in wounds, but it looks to me as though your friend has been diagnosed with a poison. I will help as best I can, but I repeat, I am no expert in wounds and less so in healing them.
"I must warn you, enemies are less than a day away. After we have helped your friend, maybe we could get some rest in a safe place, hidden from the enemy. I have travelled far on my horse, Caval, and I'm sure you have travelled a long distance aswell. She knelt down beside them, and noticed, still, an unsure look on their faces.
"Will you let me join your quest?" she asked, trying to console their fears.

Although his wound was healed, Glorfindel was very tired and dropped himself to the ground under a tree and went to sleep. In the night he awoke suddenly, he'd had a bad dream, it was a memory really of when he had fought with the Balrog outside of Gondolin. He looked around, and in the far distance he thought he could see the glint of 2 ominous eyes, but when he looked again it was gone, so he thought he must be imagining it, and then he went back to sleep.
*Allatar and Pallando conferenced via palantir the best way to breed their newest creature, and if it could be done at all, but they were hoping to breed a Demon of the ancient world, as Morgoth had done long ago* (just so everyone knows, we don't know about that, its just another part of the story)

Earendil jumped down but when she did she couldn't see the creature she had hit anywhere.......

" and she whispered a small melody in his ear and soon Glorfindel's face began to relax and he seemed to be in peace and Earendil then stood up and returned to her post after checking with Lhunsoroniel that evrything was alright......

She may be resting in the everlasting lands now. I wish I could speak with her. And I wish I will speak with my friends from the Fair Forest." - he thought. And when he mentioned the word 'friend' to himself, the image of Celebrien immediately came to his mind and he felt great pain, for his friend seemed to be very far from him. "Perhaps Lothlórien may comfort my mind and soul." And still wandering, he felt a little tired and lay under a tall tree, with the first rays of Sun invading Middle-Earth.

Uneasily, Isal replied "I do not know. We must return to our camp!" As the party set off, Isal was murmuring to himself.
"Neisa. A beautiful name," he said murmured, unheard by anyone else in the party. "Why is it so that I am so taken by this mortal women?" Sighing in confusion, he tore his gaze away from her running figure and began to sprint faster than before to the camp.

As they all reached camp, a horror that they all dreaded was standing right in front of them. The weak sunlight, for it was still early, cast a vile shadow over the spot where Glorfindel was resting.
As the group took hold of their weapons, the sound startled the creature, and it looked round. Its eyes penetrated Neisa's soul, a glare of hatred came from its stare. Nevertheless, Earendil gave the signal to start attacking the creature, whatever it was. Lacking a bow and arrows, Neisa had to get close to it to do any damage. She sprinted towards the creature, and took a swipe at it, but when the first bow penetrated its skin, it fled and she missed.
"It escaped again!"
"At least we injured it this time"
A silence broke out among the party, but Neisa felt something moving towards them.
"We have more than one unwanted guest stalking us here, though in the light I can see nothing unusual" she remarked. The group looked around them, but nothing could be seen. Suddenly, they all heard something not unlike an army moving towards them.

"I hear it too, and I do not like it! We must reach higher ground from whence we can decide whether to fight or flee! Glorfindel, awake! My friends, follow us..."
As gently as possible, Isal flung the still half-asleep Glorfindel over his shoulder. Looking into Neisa's eyes, he grasped her hand and whispered "We must run swiftly!" With that, the elf and the human ran off uphill towards high ground, thankfully away from the sound of the army. With the party following them, sprinting as fast as the could, the group soon reached the nearest hilltop.
Puffing, Isal put down Glorfindel, now awake, and asked "What shall we do?"

Glorfindel was now awake, but still very drowsy, the plant that Earendil had given him to slow the poison had lasting effects, keeping the one who recieved it weak and drowsy for several days.
Standing up he saw a sea of darkness flowing towards the company, he looked at their numbers and saw that there were at least 300 enemies, and he knew his companions were strong and valiant, but not that strong, "RUN! There is nothing we can do against such numbers, nothing that is except for get killed! Now go!" And he set off running, but he could not go very quickly because of the drugs he had been given," do not stop until we reach the woods of Lothlorien, it is about 5 miles from here! There Celeborn can give us aid."

Glorfinel did not look any better than when Neisa first saw him, and she saw Isal trying to carry him, slowing him down. She then had an idea.
"Maybe we could move faster if you and Glorfindel rode on horseback?" she said, looking back at Isal and Glorfindel, "I have Caval". She let out a shrill whistle, and, sure enough, Caval came galloping in their direction. "We have to get away from the enemy as fast as possible, and you are tired, Isal, you will not get very far if you are trying to carry someone else as well."
She looked back at them, wondering if they'd accept the idea. Isal looked at her gratefully. While he climbed onto the horse, he asked "What about you?"
"I'm not easily tired. My father was a ranger, and he could go days on end without needing sleep. I can run alongside you, and I can summon Caval to slow down if the rest of the group fall behind. Quickly! The enemy are gaining!"

"You wouldn't know him, he did not come across many elves in his time. He was stopped very early, as he broke his leg after being attacked by Orcs."
Neisa looked up at Isal, overcome with an all-too-familiar feeling. She grabbed a chain she wore around her neck. She remembered who was waiting for her in Rohan, who had given her that very same chain, who was against her going on this quest at all in case he never saw her again. She shook the memory off, but, while she was not concentrating, she tripped over uneven land. The horse reared. Isal looked back. "Neisa! Are you alright?" he shouted. "I'm fine, go on, I'll catch up!" she replied. She took this oppertunity to look back and see how far they were from the enemy. She looked at the picturesque landscape spread out behind them, but the army were not too far off. She then looked round in the direction they were headed for and sprinted, limping slightly, after the others.

IC: Glorfindel was nodding off while the horse ran swiftly on, this reminded him of something he had seen long ago, when he had put Frodo Baggins, the Ringbearer, on Asfaloth and had saved the life of the young hobbit, but now it was Glorfindel in Frodo's position, being pursued by a great number of enemies.
OOC: Just so everyone knows, I plan on killing Glorfindel's character to add a cool twist to the story, but don't worry you'll see how it works out, so if we get into a situation in which it would be easy to let my character die, don't make your character come in and save the day, unless it is orcs, because I'm not letting orcs kill me, I have a better idea..... but it won't be for a while.

The Elf-Human approached Glorfindel when he was still alive, lying next to his horse. Pain could be seen on his face. He knew he was going to die, and so he said to Rasec:
- There is still hope left in the hearts of those who can feel the grace of the Light. You shall all need to cross your paths without me from now on, but I have no doubt that my will shall be greatly fulfilled by you.
- It indeed shall, Glorfindel - said Rasec. - For your will is also our will, and though you now pass to the unseen world, you shall ever be within our hearts. Rest in peace, friend. Namarië...
- Namarië, companions - and with these words, Glorfindel closed his eyes and died honourly.
Rasec cried unstoppably and so did all the company during that day. Some of them even thought there was no more reason to continue, but Rasec repeated the words of Glorfindel. "I have no doubt that my will shall be greatly fulfilled by you. We must never give up."

The boats were being prepared and the atmosphere was heavy. Rasec closed his eyes for a moment and, in a few seconds, Elgòfir, his falcon, croaked loudly while it flew down to Rasec's shoulder. He had written something in a small piece of paper so he put it in the falcon's mouth and spoke telepathically to the animal quickly. Elgòfir flew away immediately. The message was to Phenix, to let him know about Glorfindel's death.

After Glorfindel had gone out of the presence of the Valar he met some old and dear friends. There in Valinor he saw again Gildor Inglorion, The Lady Galadriel, Elrond and his sons, as well as the Bilbo and Frodo Baggins, Samwise Gamgee, and the great maia Olorin. At this his heart rejoiced, it had been hundreds of years since Olorin had defeated Sauron, and Glorfindel had much to say to him of the happenings of middle-earth since his departure, Olorin was most saddened by the death of King Elessar, though he knew that as a mortal he would have to die eventually......

Isal had been in this land before, was overjoyed to meet friends of old. As the party entered the forest, Isal was overrun with elves, crowding around him, fastinated.
Isal had not before had the chance to tell his fellow party-members about his guild.
(OOC: It is in my RP Profile)
Because of his deeds of old, his quest to hear the echoes of the song of Eru-Iluvatar and his quest to recreate the song of the Ainur, Isal had once been a legend. On his travels in the previous ages, many elves had followed in his footsteps and decided that his quest was the greatest of all time. His followers had eventually become a guild, headed by Isal. He called this the Guild of Gwuithlon, which in the common-tongue means Guild of Echo-folk.
For the ages of the world since it's creation, the guild had grown and wandered, searching for the echoes. Many of the members had devoted their lives to Isal's quest. Alone they wandered, or in small groups, though every so often Isal would call a great gathering of the hundreds of members. This had not happened in the third age, though, due to the terrible occurances of the time. Because of this, some of the younger or newer members in the Guild of Gwuithlon thought that Isal was simply a legendary figure whom the guild idolised, and did not even really believe that he had ever walked the earth.
When the group had been captured by the elves of Greenwood, one of them had been a member from many ages before and had recognised Isal. By the time Isal reached the forest, news of his arrival had spread significantly throughout all of the members in all of Greenwood. Thus he was overrun with awefilled elven teenagers. Laughing and grinning, he spend a good few hours talking and singing with them, answering their questions about his life, his travels and his quest.

Going warily and silently from tree to tree, Glorfindel eventually reached a spot where he was far down below on the ground a company of elves. In a blink Glorfindel jumped down from the tree and landed softly on the ground. Armed only with 2 daggers and some throwing knives, he jumped out from behind the cover of some bushes and silently killed one, but that got the attention of the others, soon he was surrounded, though not scared. An arrow was shot at him, he ducked and it went straight through the heart of another young warrior, Glorfindel then through a knife through the neck of the shooter. Now he seized his opportunity to finish them off, although there were about 15 remaining; he leapt up into the a tree branch and through another knife at another elf, which fell dead immediately, he jumped down from the tree and recovered the 2 knives he had thrown, but now they were coming to close to throw knives at, he drew his daggers and slashed through one as he ducked a sword slice from another, he put his dagger through the one that had swung at him, and he then took his sword. The last remaining enemies fought were closing in on him, on he fought hand to hand and hewed the head off of, and the remaining 4 he put knives through their hearts. He dropped the sword he had taken and retrieved the last of his knives, but then their captain came out, he shot an arrow straight at Glorfindel, but the elf lord caught it before it hit his heart, this angered the captain, who took out his sword. As his enemy approached Glorfindel drew his daggers once again, he fought him off countless times, but his enemy was persistent and kept coming back, finally, holding his daggers above his head, Glorfindel brought them down quickly in an X motion and broke his enemies sword, he then kicked him and the enemy was sent back first into a tree.
Glorfindel went and picked up his enemy, "I know you are angry at me," he said,"for you believe that I have killed some dear friends of yours, but I tell you the truth, they are already dead, watch." And as he watched the beautiful forms of the fallen Elves turned into hideous orcs. "Our enemy, the Ithryn Luin, has become very powerful, they captured and killed your friends, and used a new devilry to transform orcs to look like elves, if you had been left alone for another day they would have killed you. I know not how many other Orves (OOC: Orc/Elves! what do ya think of the name?) there may be, but I do not think there are many. Now, I must continue on to warn my friends of the growing power of the Ithryn Luin, and tell them that now more than ever haste is needed. I have no time for rest, go back to your home, fare well!" But as Glorfindel turned away he saw something that he recognized, "that is a beautfiful amulet I see you have, it looks like the one that belonged to an old friend of mine, if belongs to who I believe, do not worry, she will return for it again, and you will see her again, I promise you." He then whistled, and a beautiful white horse came to his side, "Asfaloth my old and most faithful friend, we ride together again, run like the wind Asfaloth!" And the White Rider went speeding off through the trees, leaving the Elf in awe of who this great Elf Lord was......

Night fell, and still Glorfindel rode on across the lands, until he saw far ahead in the trees a small group of Elves, he dismounted Asfaloth and walked on. Peering through the trees he saw that the watchers had fallen asleep, and their camp was left unguarded, "I will teach them a lesson he thought," and he silently took away all of their weapons and went with them and took cover in the trees not far off.
He threw a knife and went into a tree above one of their heads with a loud thud, immediately the entire company woke up and when they went to draw their weapons, the found that they had none, but they saw the knife in the tree and were scared, and fearing that orcs had overtaken them and stolen their weapons, they stood together, ready for one last desperate stand of defiance. Suddenly they saw a bright white light, and through the trees they saw a Great Elf Lord walking slowly towards them. "Glorfindel!" the one named Eirien cried, "and she ran towards him and embraced him." "Glorfindel?" replied the other, "yes that was my name, Glorfindel the Golden-Haired, but I am Glorfindel the White, and I come to make sure you succeed in your task! I have come at the turning of the tide! Here are your weapons back," and he handed them the things he had taken, "but where are mine, for surely I did not take them with me when I died. If you would like to hear my story, I will tell you in return for my sword and my bow."

Are't you happy to see Glorfindel??? I have noticed you have been walking by yourslef and looking dreary ever since we left Greenwood." Eirien said as she questioned her..................

Earendil had heard Eirien and Nefmariel talking and she walked over to them..."this journey may seem hopeless and parreless....and i know that it is hard to continue.....as far as Glorfindel coming back i know it is hard to beleive but the Valar must have sent him back.....we are all upon this dangerous journey together so do not surround yourself with lonliness and join us in greeting Glorfindel..." Earendil said with a warm smile........

"Hear now my tale," said Glorfindel. "After my second arrow wound, as you know, I fell off of the horse and said my last words to Rasec, and then I appeared to have died while the company ran, as they should have. However, I was not as dead as you thought, I got up one last time after you left, and there in the borders of the woods I fought and slew several orcs, but I then had no strength left, and I went off to die in the trees. When I returned to Valinor they asked me, 'why did you go on that quest to die?' I responded, 'I didn't, I went on it to live. And to protect my friends.' "Then in council with the Valar Olorin (that is Gandalf) suggested that they send me back to finish my task, as they had with him. They heeded his council and bade me return here for the sake of my companions, and so I am here before you now, more powerful than ever, and more powerful than you can imagine, I don't expect that any of you shall see my full power unless we come face to face with the enemy himself, and the battle between us will be terrifying, and songs will be made about it in years to come. But for now, here I am, Glorfindel the White, as your leader, guide, companion, and friend."
"But now we have more serious business to attend to," he then told them all about the Orves and the growing power of the Ithryn Luin, "we must stop them quickly, or it will be too late and all will be lost." He then looked at Charmania, "my sword, Glorsil, is mine once again," and she gave it to him, when he put his hand on it the blade seemed to glow with a silvery-white light. "And my bow, Rasec," he told his old friend, and Rasec gave him his bow. When he had it in his grasp Glorfindel suddenly pulled a silver arrow from his quiver and strung the bow quickly and aimed it straight at Rasec's head, the young Elf looked terrified, and all gasped with horror, for they thought now that they had made a great mistake, and they were decieved after all, but as Glorfindel looked into Rasec's eyes, he gave him a wink and released the arrow. The deadly arrow went speeding past Rasec's head just above his left shoulder and proceeded into the head of an orc 300 yards away. "Did you think I had betrayed you?" Glorfindel asked with a laugh. "That was a spy, and we may not be so lucky to catch all of them, they may already know of my return and our plans, let us leave this place quickly, so as to avoid an attack."

Glorfindel, do you perhaps have a copy of the script from the film version of The Two Towers? It seems you simply changed the name Gandalf to Glorfindel! :-P
IC:
"I am sorry we left you, and I am sorry I doubted you after the incident with Rasec and the spy just now. Will you forgive me?" he asked, doubtfully. "Anyhow, we must journey on, I agree. Let us proceed"

OOC: No Isal I don't have a copy of the script, but I have a good memory of it and the books (which I have right next to me), so you are right I did simply change the name Gandalf to Glorfindel, I have derived a lot of it from the real story.

OOC: Was I supposed to let you die in Moria? If so, I'm sorry. IC: It is nothing Glorfindel. We are just happy that you came back!:) But, we are wondering at your new, even greater power.
Maeglin
01-17-2003, 07:15 PM
OOC: No I wasn't supposed to die in Moria Frodorocks, don't worry about it.
IC: "Well I suppose dying twice makes one even more powerful than if you die once. If by greater power you mean that I am a greater warrior than before, then yes you are correct, I am greater than ever I was before, and indeed one of the greatest to walk the lands of middle-earth, and none now can harm me save one of the enemies themselves, as I have said, at that time I will reveal myself to him in my full power and glory. But if you mean greater power as in magic, then yet again you are correct, I have been blessed with some little magic by the Valar, for it may be needed ere all is done. But my power as a wizard does not even compare to that of the great Gandalf the White, I am but a conjurer of cheap tricks compared with him."

Rasec was very pleased that Glorfindel was back. He had felt it and dreamed about it, as he had already told their companions.
- So my dreams told me the truth - Rasec said. - For this is the image of aid and power I had told you, my friends. Yes, it is Glorfindel. I had foreseen that he would come back to us, worn in a glittering white robe. That is exactly what I saw in my dreams. Just like old Gandalf we have always heard about, Glorfindel was sent back by the Valar, at the turn of the tide!
When Glorfindel asked him his bow, he was delighted to give him back. - Here it is, milord - he said.
But the quest must continue, for none of them wanted to linger. As Glorfindel said, the Ithryn Luin had obtained a great power. But so had Glorfindel.

I feel that we will all gain much before the end of our journey,,, something from one of my more pleasant dreams
Later when Charmiana and Glorfindel are walking together... Glorfindel I have been having dreams nightmares ...prophecies. I see the destruction of middle Earthe and Realize it is only one possibility but I see my dreams-------I see them through the eyes of the monster from moria. With his? hate for others controling my feelings of sorrow, I looked into his eyes too long

"It was only a dream Charmania, do not despair...yet, but if this monster is powerful enough to enter one's dreams, then we are indeed up against a powerful and perilous enemy, but we will not let the lands of Middle-Earth fall, not while we yet can fight."
