And he looked out, and in growing light he saw the banner of the king, and that it was far ahead of the battle with few men about it. Then he was filled with a red wrath and shouted aloud, and displaying his standard, black serpent upon scarlet, he came against the white horse and the green with a great press of men; and the drawing of the scimitars of the Southrons was like a glitter of stars.
Then Theoden was aware of him, an would not wait for his onset, but crying to Snowmane he charged headlong to greet him. Great was the clash of their meeting. But the white fury of the Northmen burned the hotter, and more skilled was their knighthood with long spears and bitter. Fewer were they but they clove throuh the Southrons like a fire-bolt in a forest.
I get inspired just reading this, and I can almost imagine what it would look like in RotK, if it gets in. Are there any moments like this in RotK that you cant wait to see in the movie
Then suddenly he beheld his sister Eowyn as she lay, and he knew her. He stood a moment as a man who is pierced in the midst of a cry by an arrow through the heart; and then his face went deathly white; and a cold fury rose in him, so that all speech failed him for a while. A fey mood took him. 'Eowyn, Eowyn!' he cried at last: 'Eowyn, how come you here? What madness or devilry is this? Death, death, death! Death take us all!' Then without taking counsel or waiting for the approach of the men of the City, he spurred headlong back to the front of the great host, and blew a horn, and cried aloud for the onset. Over the field rang his clear voice calling: 'Death! Ride, ride to ruin and the world's ending!'
'Why? Why do the fools fly?' said Denethor. 'Better to burn sooner than late, for burn we must. Go back to your bonfire! And I? I will go now to my pyre. To my pyre! No tomb for Denethor and Faramir. No tomb! No long slow sleep of death embalmed. We will burn like heathen kings before ever a ship sailed hither from the West. The West has failed. Go back and burn!'
And lo! even as he laughed at despair he looked out again on the black ships, and he lifted up his sword to defy them. And then wonder took him, and a great joy; and he cast his sword up in the sunlight and sang as he caught it. And all eyes followed his gaze, and behold! upon the foremost ship a great standard broke, and the wind displayed it as she turned towards the Harlond. There flowered a White Tree, and that was for Gondor; but Seven Stars were about it, and a high crown above it, the signs of Elendil that no lord had borne for years beyond count. And the stars flamed in the sunlight, for they were wrought of gems by Arwen daughter of Elrond; and the crown was bright in the morning, for it was wrought of mithril and gold. Thus came Aragorn son of Arathorn, Elessar, Isildur's heir, out of the Paths of the Dead, borne upon a wind from the Sea to the kingdom of Gondor; and the mirth of the Rohirrim was a torrent of laughter and a flashing of swords, and the joy and wonder of the City was a music of trumpets and a ringing of bells.
These are some things that I look forward to seeing, think will probably be in the movie, an that will not clash with my own vision enough to ruin it for me.
But I very much look forward to Gandalf announcing that the realm of Sauron has ended, Merry and Pippin meeting in Minas Tirith (if this even happens in the film) and to the Grey Havens especially, and many other things.

I know Merry and Pippin meeting in Minas Tirith will be in. The actor who played Merry said it was his favorite scene in the trilogy. I remember him saying how they made it kind of tragic.

Really? It is absolutely my fav scene in the whole book, so I can't wait to see it. Thanx for the info!! But indeed there are many many things that I am SO looking forward to see, and I just hope they will not be messed up.

I can't wait to see this:
Lord of the Nazgul:
"Hinder me? Thou fool. No living man may hinder me!"
Eowyn LAUGHS!! and says:
"But no living man am I. You look upon a woman."
And a woman and a small hobbit kill the Lord of the Nazgul!
That is one of my very favorite scenes in all the books. The pure arrogance, power, and evil of the Witch King is met with a laugh and the revenge of a woman and a hobbit. They did what no one else could do.

Hand in hand with that I love the way Gandalf reacts to the Mouth of Sauron. "These we will take! But as for your terms, we reject them uterly." I love that ;).

Yes, that is also a great scene. I do hope PJ puts it in the movie.

I really love that scene! It should be in there!!!!
There's a scene, which is actually from 'Two Towers', at the end of 'the Cross Roads' chapter...where the sun is setting (for the last time before the storm of Mordor), Frodo is looking to the west watching the sunset over the river far away, and sees a kingly statue, with it's head removed and replaced with a rock with the red eye painted on it. As the last rays of the sun go down, they shine on the statue's head, laying on the ground, and Frodo says 'look! the king has a crown again. They cannot conquer forever!' ...there are golden flowers grown up in a wreath around the fallen head. I would love to see that scene. I don't know what hope there is for it, now. It might be fitting as the first scene with Frodo and Sam

I LOVE that seen with the king crowned with flowers. It is so simple but it sends chills up and down my spine when I read it.
I also think that even though it may not happen it would be inspiring to have the scene from ROTK when Pippin is falling in battle with an orc falling down on top of him and in the distance he here's faintly the cry of men saying "The Eagles! The Eagles are coming!" just like Bilbo said in The Hobbit. That would be neat.

The Eagle scene HAS to be in the ROTK! I really like that part (especially) in the book.

I get chills just thinking about the battle of Pelannor Fields and Aragorn coming to Gondor's aid. I hope its well done. I really look forward to seeing the Grey Havens as well. I think that will be the saddest part of the movies.
