Car in the background?

I was at the TTT yesterday and was waiting patiently for the movie to start and watching those stupid trivia question and "did you know" type things that they play on screen before the previews.

One of them popped up and said "Did you know: In the FOTR, when Sam and Frodo are in the cornfield, there is a car visible in the background?" I was surprised, and today I watched the regular AND extended DVD versions frame by frame and can't find any car int eh background in any scene with Sama & Frodo. Did anyone else see it? Or hear there even was one?

If you listen to the Producer's commentary track, they mention it, and say that it has been removed from the DVD release.

When that scene gets wider, i think that there's dust or smoke over in the right hand corner. It could have been that?

i heard about that and was wondering were they said it was.... hmmmm........

There was most definatly a car in that scene of the film, bt only when it was in theatres. As faded_glory pointed out, it was removed from the DVD and VHS releases.
It wasn't the dust cloud to the right of the screen, it was moving from right to left on the hill in the centre of the screen, the sun was reflecting of its windshield.

They should have put it as an extra/optional scene to watch in the EE FotR just for gits and shiggles. :rolleyes:
