I was watching the special features part of the extended dvd where the cast talks through the film. At one point Orlando Bloom says he was really impressed with one of Elijah's moments in the last film. He hinted around a bit but didn't mention any specific details. He seemed to think it was Frodo's shining moment or something. Has anyone else heard this on the dvd? And what is he talking about??

I know what you're talking about, but I'm not sure what he means, either. I bet we will find out in a year or so, though. :D

i heard the director and writers commentary, they said about half of the third movie is shot at minas tirith. and that the evenstar, that aragorn carries, plays a role as well, and also the star-glass of frodo. very interesting commentaries !!

Hopefully?
He has to become king. Otherwise, why call it "The Return of the King"?
I think it would be a pretty stupid movie if he isn't crowned king. :D

I just got my FOTR EE DVD a couple days ago. It's awesome! Especially the extra appendices. Those are just loaded with extra content. It's great.

I was hoping that Orlando was talking about the scene with Frodo at Mount Doom... I hope over 1/2 isnt shot at Minas Tirith! There was hardly any Frodo and Sam in TTT....I was hoping for ALOT more in RotK!

Yeah, I agree. It explains more to people who are new to the story.

Orlando's comments on the commentary (:)) help back-up some comments by Ian McKellen himself from a while back. McKellen said that Elijah's work in RotK was "oscar-worthy". I do know that his audition tape for the part had the scene where he talks about the "wheel of fire" possessing his mind (this is from RotK, if I remember correctly). There were some hints in TTT that showed us what this might be like, and personally I loved it. The scenes where Frodo is "taken" by the ring were perfect in my opinion. I especially loved that one scene that everyone else seems to shun: the scene between him and the Nazgul. The look on his face sent chills down my spine.

Yes, the Phial of Galadriel will play a big role in Cirith Ungol... It saves Sam and Frodos life. Its light blinds Shelob.

I liked the scene of Gollum riding the log downriver. He must not have seen where he was going and bump hits some reeds(or a rock or whatever) and just tries to keep on going, and all the while he is being watched. That scene is a Gem! scenes like that keep my faith alive that TTTEEDVD (whew will be loaded with goodies!!!!!
