My more learned compatriots,
Okay, I know that I need to read the book itself, but it will be a good while until I get this far into the HOME, and I'm incredibly curious. What does the title of Volume X of the HOME refer to? I can't imagine a way of interpreting The One Ring as being Morgoth's, and I don't remember any reference in the Silmarillion to Melkor/Morgoth having a ring, so if someone could please enlighten me, I'd be in their debt.

Many thanks,

Tar-Elenion

It is an analogy.
Sauron put his power into the One Ring.
Morgoth put his power into Arda. Thus the world is 'Morgoth's Ring'.

That makes sense. Thanks.
