Karl Marx claimed that economics determines history, and that one's economic class determines one's ideas. Ironically, he proved himself wrong, in a deadly way. The twelve-thousand word propaganda tract written by Marx in 1848 and known as The Communist Manifesto was a concise summary of many ideas which Marx himself created. greypilgrim, an istari, walks in and looks at the prices. "I'll have a beer, make it 1420", and plops down the gold.
He looks the people nearby. "What do you think this year will be like?" he asks some.
"LegolasLuver, are my kind allowed rooms here?"

"Yea sure, if you want a room it will be 15 no make it 10 gold pieces."

*my waiter is frantically getting the beers...*

The door to the inn opens. A cold rush of air sweeps across the inn and people turn their heads to see who enters at this late hour. At the door stands a man, he looks to be of the age of 16 and is dressed into a elven travelling cloack that is fastened on by a black belt that bears a silver crest of an eagle. His solemn expression doesn't change as his eyes view the room, his cloack throws around with the wind to reveal his sword and that dagger that are hanging from his belt.

He slowly closes the door and takes two steps in.
His voice is somewhat deep and his expression stays the same as he begins to speek, "I'am Aren, son of Fárthien, who is the owner of this inn as I much desire to speak with him."

He stands still waiting for a response, not once does his expression change.

*i clear my throat* "I am the owner of this Inn and i am not a Him"

*eyes the newcomer carefully and suspiciously*

*also eyes the new comer, wandering what he has come to speak to me about*

"This place, you call it an inn for wanderers do you not?"
Aren says softly. "Are all here wanderers? I wish not to associate with ones who pretend to be such, I would also like a room, one that would be far from the racket that is coming from here. Also some food, I've travelled from far and yonder and I wish to eat and sleep before I go on my way."

Aren walks up to the inn keeper so close that their noses could almost touch each other, he puts his hand inside his cloak and pulls out a small bag of money. "Inside is gold for the stay of two days and foods for that time. I shall move to that corner table and wish not to be disturbed until my food is ready, I'll have some rabbit if that is allright." He speaks softly with his non changing expression. He takes one last look at everyone eyeing him with suspicion and walks slowly to the table in the corner and pulls out a pipe and begins to smoke whilst writing something into his book.

He glances back at the inn keeper, "my name is Aren, son of Fárthien, I have come. Now, why aren't you making my food?"

[Bethelarien]

*walks over to Aren*

Perhaps she hasn't started because she doesn't appreciate being spoken to like that. And perhaps you should also watch what you say, most people don't like to be insulted. Including myself.

*walks back to the bar, sits*

"i dont like being spoke to that way and i would like my personal space.. so please dont get so close to me like that, but i am going to let you stay and fixyou food and try not to get mad at you. i am a princess and we dont do those sorts of things.
Yes we are all wanderers...."
*cook begins to cook his rabbit* Bartender: "would you like anything to drink with that sir"

"your room number will be 50... heres your key"

"thank you beth.. lol you took the words tight out of my mouth"

[Ol'gaffer]

Aren smiles from under his cloack, "yes, some vine if you don't mind." The smile then dissappears from his face and he goes back to his writing.

[Ol'gaffer]

Aren looks up again, his eyes glance around the bar again, they stop at the girl who had talked to him as he had entered.

"In no way did I mean to hurt your feelings, miss. But this life requires to be careful, most of us aren't that lucky in friends as you."

He then turns to his writing.

[Bethelarien]

"I'm not a girl, I'm a woman, thank you. And who said I was lucky in friends? Perhaps I just don't take well to strangers who appear out of nowhere and start making demands to people they don't know."

*my waiter fixes hisdrink then finishes up his rabbit*
waiter: here you go sir....

[Ol'gaffer]

"Thank you." Aren eats quickly but doesn't touch his wine,
he looks up again and his eyes turn to the taverns owner.

"Come sit, I would like to ask you some questions in private, if that is not too much trouble." Aren says more politely and less sarcasticly then before his dinner. He signals the owner to take a seat.

[Ol'gaffer]

Aren looks again at Beth, "When I said miss, I in no way wanted to implicate anything about thy age." His eyes move up and down looking at her, "I would say that you are older than you seem, but young at mind. You are welcome to come sit here if you wish, this matter could concern you too." He smiles politely and turns back to Luver and stays quiet.

"ok i guess i'll come sit... and thank you for asking nicely" *i then walk over and sit in the chair next to Ol'gaffer**

Waiter: "is anything wrong with your wine sir?"

[Bethelarien]

*smiles at the accuracy of Aren's description of her*
"If it concerns me, then I will certainly listen to what you have to say, especially since your manners seem to have taken an upward turn."
*goes over and sits next to Aren*

"ok so ask away... what questions do u need to ask me.." *i then smile a really sweet smile*

[Ol'gaffer]

Aren looks around quickly and turns to the two.
His voice lowers to almost an whisper, "The reason for my rudeness and secretive behaviour is..Ugh!" He nearly bends into two as he holds his side, his hand reaches for the wine and he drinks it instantly. "I've gone a long way from home, and have made many enemies on my travels, and two nights ago a few of my problems finally caught up with me." He pulls his cloak a little bit back to show the two a long cut possibly made from a sword that reaches from his ribs to his armpit.
"The reason that I came here quietly and pompusly was because I needed to get a place to hide quickly, and what I ask you now is to let me stay until my wounds are healed and if someone should ask for my you would not tell them of my presence."
He turns to beth, "you're a princess are you not? People will take your word, I will pay for this ofcourse, but if you do not wish to hide me I will take my leave. But please answer quickly, and I beg of you, keep me secret, keep me safe!"
He then looks over his shoulder again to see if anyone is looking.

[Ol'gaffer]

Aren begins to breath heavily and his robes begin to stain with the blood coming from his wound. His eyes are focusing onto the two sitting opposite to him, "please.." he pleads again.

[LegolasLuver]

"yes you can stay until the wounds heal.... and dont worry about the cost... i will speak of you to no one.... also i have the power of healing if it would help....."

[Bethelarien]

*thinks briefly*

"I will help you, though I endanger myself in doing so. And Lai, I will heal him, as you suddenly missing would be very much noticed."

"ok beth you can heal him... but if u need any assistance im always here to help"

[Bethelarien]

*all business now*

"Right, thanks Lai. All I need right now is an empty room, boiling water, athelas, and some bandages. At least that's all I think I'll need, I won't know for sure until I take a better look at his wound," she says. "And we better hurry, he's losing a lot of blood."

*looks at the bloodstain spreading on Aren's robes*

"Not a good sign..."

"here follow me... i have a back medical room that has everything you need" *i go behid the bar.... down a hallway... and through a door.....* "if u need anything else just ask"

Aren gets up breathing heavily, he staggers as he walks after the two. Everyone begins to stare, "what are you looking at?" he spits out. As he reaches behind the bar he coughs out a bit of blood onto his hands and faints.

*i hear the fall* "OMG Beth help me get him up and into the medical room"
*we pick him up and take him into the room laying him on the bed*
"i'll go get your boiling water"
*a minute later i com in with the water*

[Bethelarien]

"This keeps getting worse. I wasn't expecting him to faint so soon. Can you grab my bag from the bar? It has the athelas that I need." *looks at Aren* "And please hurry."

*begins unbuttoning Aren's shirt to get a better look at the cut*

*i rush out to get Beths bag* bartender: "need anything Lai??"
me: "no, no just take care of the customers"
*i rush back into the room*

*takes bag from Lai*

"Thank you," I say absentmindedly. I am now focused on the task at hand. I turn back to Aren, and continue unbuttoning his shirt.

*decides to leave Beth alone... i go back to the bar and a elf is there*

"yes may i help you??"

Elf: "i am looking for Lailonniel, Princess of Mirkwood"

*shocked that hes looking for me i ask*
"what is your business with the princess?"

Elf: i need to speak to her about a ring....

"well i am Lailonniel, we will go to another room to talk about this ring"

*we walk into the other room*
"yes what is it??"
Elf: i am Legolas Greenleaf, Prince of Mirkwood.. and i am very happy to meet you finally my Princess but i have to tall you about the Mirkwood ring. It has been stolen.. Taken to the Fangorn forest by a very mysterious creature."

"what am i supposed to do about it?"

Legolas: well i see your busy here at your bar but when you have time, come to the fangorn forest, we must retreve that ring. i will head off to fangorn now. if i get the ring i will send a messenger here telling you of the news."

"ok Legolas.... Goodbye.." *since he was the Prince of Mirkwood and i was the Princess, i went over and gave him a hug before he left, before i could turn away he gave me a small kiss on the cheek*

*before Legolas leaves the Inn i ask quickly, "would you like to stay for one night before you head off towards Fangorn?"

Legolas: "sure, i could use some rest before i head off."

*I go sit down at a table and he comes and sits by me and we talk*

Bartender to Xime: "would you like anything Miss? anything to eat or drink? you see Lailonniel here is the Princess of Mirkwood, and this young fellow that just walked in is the Prince, Legolas, and they never met before until now. so im going to take care of the place while they talk. so anything you need miss, just ask"

"oh im sorry Xime" *suddenly remembering i had a customer* "I got so caught up in talking to Legolas that i forgot you were here.... my apologies.... ok one room for how many nights?? and would you like anything to drink or eat?? if so we have anything you want, just name it and well make it for you. my bartender here is a specialist at food and drink, he can make the best of anything....."

[Ol'gaffer]

Aren wakes up on the floor with his shirt open and the owner of the bar standing next to him.
"You couldn't wait to get my shirt off did you?"
He says with a grin and tries to get up, "aah!" the pain hits his rib and he slumps back on the floor causing more blood to spill from the wound.

At the same moment three rough looking humans enter through the door, "Where is he? We know that he came here! I'll cut off his head and anyones who tries to stop me!" A large muscly built man with a brown beard and a huge axe in his hands.
His two companions next to him stick to flexing their muscles.

Aren lightly pulls the owners dress to get her attention "They're here, they've come. Hide me..." He faints again.

[Bethelarien]

OOC: I'm not the owner, I'm merely an Elvish princess healer. Lai is the owner, and she's out at the bar.

IC: "Aren, I swore to protect you, and protect you I will, even if it costs me my life. They will not get past me. And stop trying to sit up!"

Bethelarien stands up, prepared to fight. She suddenly realizes in horror that she left her weapons in her room, believing she would not need them.

"Of all the stupid things I could do, it had to be that," she mutters.

[LegolasLuver]

"excuse me gentlemen... i dont know any Aren and where you got the idea that he was here i dont know. but if you dont leave immediatly i will have security escort you out of here."

*Legolas stands up prepared to fight, and the 4 masculant, musclelar security gaurds show up beside me*

OOC: Okay, I'm really confused as to what is happening right now. Aren? Explain?

OOC: im sorta confused too, i just know some people came in looking for Aren and i called my security... where the security people came from, i dont kow... lol it just popped up in my head:rolleyes:

OOC: Elementary my dear LegolasLuver.
Three men are looking for Aren for yet unknown reasons and he's looking for a safe place from here. Just as he fainted of bloodloss the men entered the bar looking for him. Where the security came from, I don't know.

IC: The leader of the men looks at the owner. "We never mentioned that his name is Aren!!!"
They start flexing their muscles.

[Bethelarien]

OOC: So I'm assuming that you and I don't know about the men yet, as we're together in a separate room?

IC: Bethelarien could hear some noise coming from the common room. Although noise was not uncommon, this was...different. Dangerous. Oh, well. Let Lai take care of it. She turned back to Aren, who had again fainted, and continued trying to take off his shirt. It was saturated with blood.

OOC: oops forget i said Aren, i thought they said earlier his name so erase that and well start from where the me came in

IC: "excuse me gentlemen, i do not kow who "he" is and i am for certain that no one here is anyone you are looking for"

[Bethelarien]

Ignoring the noise from outside the room, Bethelarien pressed her hands over the long gash in Aren's now bare side. Closing her eyes and drawing on the power her father had shown her long ago, she began to chant slowly in Elvish.

[Ol'gaffer]

The man who appeared to be the leader of the posse, spoke again.
"Listen here, the scoundrels name is Aren and my men have reported seeing him go this direction and this is the only tavern miles around so he must be here!!"
They continue to flex their muscles.

[Bethelarien]

As the voices outside get louder, Bethelarien looked up, paused in mid-word. Since the door was closed and securely locked (she hopes), she continued almost immediately. Gazing down at Aren's face, she drew more power, stronger power, from herself, in the hopes of healing him more quickly. She did not like being locked in a room with an unconcious, defenseless man.

[LegolasLuver]

"i'm can assure you sir, that there is noone here that goes by the name Aren." i say in a stern voice

A person walks in from the rain hood up so you can't see their face but then she goes up to Lai and takes off her hood "Hey Lai whats up?"

"oh hey nef" i say turning away from the huge men. "how are you?" the men look at me sternly b/c i am ignoring them

"Fine you? Who are those big lugs?"

[LegolasLuver]

"i'm fine. hmm i dont know who these guys are.. they are after some guy named aren"

OOC: Aren is here at the bar but is in the back room, but im acting like i dont know him b/c he doesnt want these guys to know hes here

IC: "Strange well shouldn't they get outa here unless they want something then?

"yes they should, and if they dont leave soon I am going to have my bartender escort them to the door. I don't want any trouble in my Inn with them."

"If you need any help let me know, but what do you have to drink around here? My inn is slow right now."

"i have rasberry water, tea, ale, anything you would like"

"Hmm Raspberry water please, whats the cost?"

"its on the house"

Bartender: "here you go Miss."

[Bethelarien]

Hearing footsteps in the hall outside the door, Bethelarien again paused. She no longer heard loud voices from the common room...perhaps whoever was causing trouble had left. Then she had a darker thought...Or perhaps they were out in the hall.... Fearing this second thought, she again turned back to her patient. His loss of blood had her very worried. So once more she turned inside herself, drawing on her power to heal.

*i peep my head in the door after making sure those other men werent looking and ask "is everything ok? need anything?"

[Bethelarien]

Relieved that it was Lai and not someone dangerous, Bethelarien shook her head.

"No, I just need time. What's going on out there? I heard shouting."

[LegolasLuver]

"these guys out here are looking for him, and i am trying to get them to leave but they wont" i say in a whisper

[Bethelarien]

Hearing this, Bethelarien looked down at her patient. His face was pale, and he was still unconscious. He was in no condition to fight, and wouldn't be for a while.

"Lai, you must try to at least keep them away from back here. They may not leave, but don't let them find us! His wound is more extensive than I first thought. It must have been a poisoned blade, and the poison is spreading. That in and of itself is bad--it is even worse, since he has lost so much blood. I will try to hurry, but some things cannot and should not be hastened."

*i walk back out into the main room* "excuse me gentlemen i nedd you to leave the primisis if you have no business here"

[Bethelarien]

"Well, that's always one way to do it," Bethelarien said to herself. "Now who in the world did this to you, Aren? Was it those men out there? If so, they are more dangerous than Lai realizes." Although Bethelarien knows Aren is unconscious, it helps ease her mind to talk to him.

*the men stand their ground*
"excuse me gentlemen, did you not hear what i just said" *i look at them very sternly*

I sip my water stand up and join Lai "Yeah get out now" "need any help here Lai, a bouncer perhaps for these troublesome men?"

the men have been forced out, with shreds of their clothing on the ground :D

Aren opens his eyes.

"Wha-what's going on?" He mumbels.

[Bethelarien]

Bethelarien, glad that he had reawakened, ceased chanting.

"You fainted from loss of blood. I have healed your wound, though you will always bear the scar. Who did that to you? for the blade was poisoned," Bethelarien added.

[LegolasLuver]

*i peek my head in the door*
"Oh, your awake!! who was after you?? they came in the lobby and wouldnt leave so i had to have a bouncer chase tem off with his wolves and they havent came back yet, and hopefully they dont come back"

"Can't say the ingreadient, well I best be off seeya Lai" I finish the water and leave.
