I just visited the movie publicity site at New Line and they now have posted the first batch of official Return of the King Pictures. There are six images there. The first is Sam cradling Frodo in his arms. Possibly this is right after their encouter with Shelob. The second Image is Frodo holding aloft the vial of Galadriel in what most likely is Shelob's lair. The third image is of Gollum, not Smeagol, with a nasty gleam in his eyes. The fourth image is of a very Kingly Aragorn riding through battle upon a horse that is assumidly Brego the noble creature who rescued him at the river in The Two Towers. The sixth Image is of Arwen Undomiel standing upon some stairs with light streaming in behind her. She is wearing the mysterious black and red gown that she was publisized in for The Two Towers but that never showed up. The final image is of Gandalf the White weilding Glamdring in the midst of a great battle. Possibly it is the battle of the Pelenor Fields or perhaps it is the battle that occurs on the steps of Mordor. Enjoy.

UPDATE:!: I just took a close look at the image of Aragorn and not only is he riding upon a horse that is fully decked out he is also wearing a breasplate with the white tree upon it and in his hand he is bearing NARSIL reforged. Totally cool!

Aragorn looks darn cool there, but I think his gaze is too soft to look kingly. He's gonna need some sort of glare at some point to come across as a king.

Notice that in the shot of Sam & Frodo that Sam has Sting, just as he should.

I disagree, I don't think his gaze is too soft. He looks every bit the proud, yet servant, king that he was intended to be.

That picture of Aragorn is really cool. The one with Gandalf, it looks like Glamdring is broken(?) And those Shelob lair pics look amazing!

Naw Glamdring isnt broken...it's covered in Orc blood.;)

Which battles do you think the pics of Gandalf and Aragorn are? I say the one of Aragorn is the final battle because he has Narsil--and I think that they would have Aragorn ride in with Anduril for the last battle.

As for Gandalf...I think the battle of the pelannor fields...because when you look at the soldiers around Gadalf they all seem to be soldiers of Gondor yet behind Gandalf there is obviously some fighting...and in the battle of the pelannor fields when the Rohirrim came...welll..you wouldnt expect all the armies to keep nice straight lines.;)

Soldiers of Gondor outside the walls kicking butt?

If I remember correctly (I may have a biased memory in these matters) the Rohirrim were the ones kicking major buttage on the Field of Pellenor.

The Gondorians had a great view from behind their walls though :D

I also have been uncessessful (sp?) in downloading the image of Frodo holding Galadriel's vial. I have checked several of my sites and none of them were able to get that picture either. I am hoping that New Line fixes the problem soon. If they do not, perhaps I will send them a message concerning the problem.

Brytta, I think you are correct. The Riders of the Mark were the ones out there kicking tail. Though, i do think that there were some men of Gondor out there, but not many. I shall have to check and see who all was out there doing the fighting. I will get back to you on this issue. :D

Ariana, do you mean unsuccessful?

I think you meant Frodo holding the Phial of Galadriel, not the Ring Flame_of_anor.

FYI: NewLine have disabled the link to download the pic of Frodo, so they must have figured that theres a problem with it.

lol

Yes, that is Frodo holding the Vial of Galadriel, and not the ring. I don't think the ring would glow like that, lol. Flame probably just made a simple mistake. :) We all do that sometimes.

As of yet the only image that I have of Legolas from The Return of the King I have already posted here. Any or all other pictures that I have are from The Fellowship or from The Two Towers.

lol By Jove, you are correct. I must have been having a blonde moment. (not meant to bash blondes or anything.....the way i see it is that blonde is not a hair color it is a condition) I don't even know why I said Ring....it must have been a long day. Sorry 'bout that guys :D

No worries, I did think that at first myself, then realised it would be the Phial.

That is good to hear. It is nice to know that I am not alone. Ariana was right when she(assumption) said that we all make mistakes sometimes.

I like that poster on the main page. "The Battle Will Be Won". Although isn't that kind of a major spoiler or something for all those people who haven't read the books. Hmmmm ....

Anyway, I can't wait till they start releasing offical trailers and posters for The Return of the King. Although I am sure it is going to be a while.
