Ranger Rp Discussion Thread

This is the Discussion thread for the Rp currently running(Rp#57- Search For The Lost Ranger) and when we make new Rp's we will continue to use this thread. So ask away if you have any Q's about the Rp.

We need to decide who kidnapped me and why... and how we are going to deal with it. I haven't posted anything definate in case you had some good ideas, but I'll have to soon... where am I being taken?

We'll make it a large clan of Uruk-Hai. We are now running into some of them who stayed behind. I think we should catch you before you get to the camp then we will attack them(not all at once, but like while their sleeping and stuff).

How do you want me to put my character in the rpg?

Just run up right now and start helping then after say something like "Sorry I'm late." That works:)

Have it so you were away on other business when we left and when you found where we had gone you followed us as quickly as you could to find us.

We need more plot. Fighting orcs is all good... but something needs to be behind all this...

Yeah but let Ecth or Elg think of one itll be more fun if it comes as a suprise to everyone else on the journey.

Maybe some unkown Necromancer? And he wants to end the Rangers so he starts by taking the leader? Then we have to kill him so we follow him and he goes to his lair in Mirkwood? Sound good so far?

It sounds better than what we have.

I'd say we should either have me escape before getting to his palace then or have him use me as a hostage to escape with. Which is preferable? I can handle my character either way.

The Necromancer's in Dol Gildur, right? And we're in the Misty Mountains, aren't we? There's a pretty big distance between those two places. What do we do in between? And let's make it something different besides slaying orcs.

Exactly, we want it to be long, we wont be killing much orcs then just talking about resting and any conversations, I don't know we'll see what unfolds.

Ok, we scaled down the mountain and found a camp of orcs, we're pretty sure the sack we see has Elgee. Right now we are resting in some trees and covering ourselves with mud(to hide our scent) until we find the right time to go after Elgee.

Well that's good I like hiding in trees, as for the mud well I guess I'm all unscented.;)

Ok, I'm a bit confused. So far we've killed the orcs on one side and the back, but not on the other two sides, and we're already going in to rescue Elgee. Did I miss something?

We killed the front, left, and right side. I'm going to get Elgee a few others are going to kill the ones on the back side.

Well the RP seems like it's almost ended. Course I got in to it kinda late anyway. Well I hope when it ends we can start another one quickly, maybe something involving defending this time.

If you notice in my last post the orcs talk about their 'master', thats the Necromancer(but we dont know that yet). The orcs will find us in a few days b/c the Necromancer will send them to find Elgee. Then the Necro will tell them to bring her to Dol Gulder and leave for there right after. So we will chase him while orcs are chasing us. It will take a good while.

Don't worry, people will probably get possessed once we get to Dol Gulder.:)

Well ok I guess the rp's not gonna end soon. YAY!! :D I didn't want it to anyway. Also that sounds good, going to Dol Guldor, I always thought Necromancer was an interesting character. :p .

I JUST GOT AN IDEE!!! ok. so some of us, im not sure who, are back at camp. some of us are at the orcs. and some of us are inbetween. howsabout the people inbetween, who are alone, get posessed. that way no one will know.

Yeah good idea you me and HG are the ones that wanted to be possessed and the ones in between so it works out great.

I think we should only have one possessed(maybe two if someone else REALLY wants to be possessed), but we(in the Rp) dont know that there is a Necromancer and the Necro doesnt know we are there, I think we should wait until we start chasing him for people to get possessed.

Ok, explain to me who/what is Necromancer?:confused:

A Necromancer is an evil wizard who can bring people from the dead and possess people and things of that nature. We can think of a name for him later, also there used to be many and one of the main ones lived in Dol Gulder, I believe he tortured, killed, and stoll the ring from a very famous dwarf, was it Thrain maybe? Someone help me out.

i t hink whoever becomes posessed should be with the other, if there are two becoming "evil" and they should definately be away from the group.

We'll think that up later, but I would like to say good job to Mablung on his last Rp post, the water canteen trick. Made me laugh, I think that was a good comic relief:) Keep up the good posts guys and gals!

THE Necromancer in Dol Gildur was Sauron. The White Council booted him out during Bilbo's quest. But we could have it so that a new Necromancer decided to use Saruon's old fortress in Dol Gildur.

OK... Kuri would love to aid the Rangers with his crossbows, but he doesnt know how to join the RP, or where it even is...

The most popular method is to show up swinging a sword and fighting, saying you followed our tracks.

Well if you hurry before we go anywhere you can suprise us in our mini hideout which is some trees and bushes. Also, I would have Nain fight Kuri, dwarf vs dwarf, but he and his compoetitor were both torn apart.

Goldie, just go in and out of possessedness ok? For a few seconds act zombie like then come back and we'll all be freaked out.

Fiara followed after Eomond and the others. "I will go with you as well, Eomond," she said. "I need to try and recover my knives." Fiara could not stop thinking about why had Elgee been captured and Goldie had been acting so strange. She figured these two things had to be connected, but she didn't know how. Fiara wanted to go back to the area where the skirmish took place not only to retrive her knives but to look for some clue that would explain these strange things going on.

not to criticize, but you guys are not master minds. i fell off my horse, which could be explained by anything. im not saying "dont think like this" its just you arent supposed to have the slightest idea of anything.....

Ok so why exactly are we splittingup? I know theres a fork in the road, but what is in betweem it? Also I think when we do meet we be outside Dol Gulder, so maybe the fork is in Mirkwood?

I felt splitting up was in order for dramatics. .. just keep track of what group you are in.

By the time we start our next rp, the rp's will be in the new site. Everyone be sure to sign up over there! We've applied for guild space, and there is going to be a bar in our section for the entire site, which will give us a good deal of publicity.

My name was simply put together, but to tell the truth that little mistake of making the name caused me to start writing a seven book series.

Anyway, I'm gonna miss RPing on TTF. I just got done with fixing an account problem. Is the whole guild going to be moved to the new site or are the RPs on the guild going to be?

I think we are going to be present on both sites.

I really suggest asking someone who knows for sure, however. I am a little boggled by it all.
