I searched through the 'net and found this site. Some very good pictures, and speculations on where they are from:

Well that leads to a few conclusions:

The Scouring of the Shire has definately been removed, since Saruman is killed by Grima in Orthanc

The Paths Of The Dead is going to be done (thank god!)

Shelob will be there, and will bite Frodo

They will be showing Frodo leaving ME, and Sam returning to Rosie and Elenor

btw, I hope they edit out the orc with the pink fluffy hat (lol)

hehehe.... :D

Okay, first of all this proves nothing about the Paths of the Dead.

I really like the look of the orc they name Shagrat. I hope it is him.

Some good pictures there, my favorite is the one that is labeled as soldiers heading to the Black gate.

What is said of the way that Grima offs Saruman has no proof... none at that website at any rate. Though I will not be surpised if it is true.

If it ends with Sam and his daughter, then I can assume that a few years pass between the return to the Shire and the departure of Frodo... (unless of course Rosie already had a bun in the over when Sam left. ;))
But if this is the case, then I wonder how the time lapse will be conveyed.

I'm also hoping that this means there will be a battle at the Pelannor and at the Black Gate.

:D *chuckle* You're a sick puppy, Nom.

The whole Saruman on the wheel thing was rumored and pretty much confirmed before FoTR even came out, so I'm pretty sure that that is the way he dies.

The Scouring of the Shire shouldn't be a big surprise. That was said from the get go of this trilogy that PJ wouldn't be filming it.

Sniff...
So Saruman really gets killed in Isengard...

Aww man... that sucks... Then they're gonna skip the part when they meet him when they returning home, and the Scouring of the shire is a very important chapter (in my opinion). Sure when Sauramons in Orthanc, Gandalf can offer for him to come back one last time, but they won't show how miserable Sauraman is when he's wandering... But hey, a defeated Sauraman in his own tower is better than a defeated Sauraman in some plain place.

*holds thumbs for scouring of shire being in film*
How can that be skipped?? If they're gonna show Frodo leaving, how can they miss the scouring of the shire?? It's really important for Sam's part, I think anyway.
O well, we can't really moan can we... no matter how many things PJ skips, we still enjoy the films, don't we??

:(

How many people though in the general public (whom the movie is made for) would care about the scouring of the shire? People laughed when Gollum was in pain from the rope and when he was having his internal dialogues. How many people do you think would take a bunch of hobbits attacking big people and a large group of rebellious Tooks seriously? I say the entire theater would be filled with laughter so whats the point of it?

If my memory serves me right, some 120 million people have read the book, so I think it would not be a problem to most of the viewers. Au contraire.

Two questions with that though. 1 How many more have seen the movie and 2 How many of those that read the books remember them Id say that number is reduced dramatically if you subtract the number of people that read them and dont remember a thing.
